"This is rather convenient." L murmured- leaning in to look at the screen and taking a moment to read over Higuchi's display before leaning back. "If one of these individuals is Kira then they would be allowing the company to flourish and fill their pocket...but that doesn't at all match Kira's motives or methods. He believed in punishing the wicked, not making a quick buck. So why the sudden change?"

"We've already established that Kira is more then one person," Light reminded. "Perhaps this third Kira has an alternative motive."

"It would seem more like a risk to first Kira at this rate, but seeing as how he's obviously inactive at the moment..." L spun in his seat. "Then we'll put surveillance them."

Light began to come up with ideas, but the only one that really passed by L was when he said something about using Misa as bait.

He'll use Misa and she'll find the notebook and get her memories back...

"I think I'd rather try a con man I'm affiliated with." L suddenly cut in.

"Hm?" Light inquired, turning to look at the other. "You don't look so good, Ryuuzaki..."

"I'm not sure what you mean?" L turned to Raito- staring at him with his intense eyes.

"You seem to be tense," Light pointed out. "Did you remember something?"

"...Why would you assume I remembered something?" L asked curiously.

"Because you usually aren't tense," Light informed, frowning.

"Actually, I've been depressed lately." L admitted.

Light gave him a completely blank stare in return.

He lost his memories... L remembered Nate saying. But when he touches the notebook, he remembers...

"My recent theory hasn't been panning out at all." L offered- spinning in his chair again.

His cheek was still a little sore from when Light had punched him...over a conversation that had gone much same way as this one.

"But all of the evidence points to Yotsuba," Light pressed, his lips in a straight line. He could tell where this was going.

There was something... what was it... a watch! His watch!

"Like I said, we'll plant some surveillance and go from there." L replied. "I'll use my resources."

His eyes glanced down at Light's wrist.

Light's watch was there - as it always was.

"Alright," Light snorted, obviously not believing the other.
