One thing that can hep you remember your dreams is lying very still when you first wake up. If you stay that way for maybe five minutes the details you do remember are usually clearer and you may recall more. It also helps to keep a small notebook and a pen by your bed for when you first wake up; jot anything you recall down. Your memory of a dream fades during the day you see.

Some stones also hep with the clarity and recollection of dreams, for example amethyst, moonstone and selenite. (Just don't get that last one wet, at all. It's kind of a violent reaction.)

Lunaryon 01-21-2012 05:44 AM

what do you mean violent reaction?

Gallowsraven 01-21-2012 02:30 PM

Selenite has a very strong reaction with water, in large quantities the reaction is explosive. Unless you want chemical burns everywhere and such like, i suggest you keep it away from moisture. It's a very pretty stone with a pearly, satiny sheen to it, but it's also very soft, so you have to keep it seperate from other stones and crystals to keep it undamaged as it scratches easily.

I keep all my stones seperate anyway where possible (found a damn good use for the large ferrero roche trays ^.^) if only to make them easier to identify.

Lunaryon 01-21-2012 03:41 PM

That's cool.

Gallowsraven 01-21-2012 04:04 PM

Yep. It's why i love crystals.

I made an oopsy Tai-chan! I snapped at Luke's dad . . . but he was putting him down again! I'm getting fed up of hearing nothing but negative re-inforcement from them it doesn't work! and i think they understand a lot less about their son than they believe they do.

Lunaryon 01-21-2012 04:11 PM

Negetive reinforcement is BAD!
I have self confidence problems because of it... Though it wasn't from my family that I got it.

Gallowsraven 01-21-2012 08:23 PM

Then you have some idea of the issues my boyfriend's got. Really he's an amazing guy and really smart but they can't seem to see it; nothing's ever good enough for them. When his student loan for uni ran out with barely a week left in the term they didn't say "oh, that's great, you've managed it really well most kids don't make it last two weeks" it was "you should be more careful with money. You're so irresponsible!" and it drives me up the wall!

Though i have to say . . . 3yrs without strangling them so far and only one or two incidents like this is a good record don't ya think?

Lunaryon 01-21-2012 08:31 PM

I wish I had some way to help. Once I realized what my so called 'friends' were doing, I ceased hanging with them... somewhat.

Taiania 01-22-2012 01:41 PM

I'm sorry I've been away guys. My internet died DX

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 02:14 PM

Hi Tai!!! It's good to see you again!

Taiania 01-22-2012 03:45 PM

It's good to be back. :D
Hugs for Gallows.

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 03:47 PM

How are you Tai?

Taiania 01-22-2012 03:56 PM

I'm ok. Restless due to my wisdom tooth, but otherwise.
You? :)

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 03:58 PM

My life is going crazy... But I'm used to it by now... so good as can be.
(Just so you know... and I don't have to answer all the questions again... My parents are going through a divorce.)

Gallowsraven 01-22-2012 05:10 PM

Least i'm not the only one who's life's going a little wacky, even if it is in a different way. ^.^

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 05:15 PM

Wus going on with you?

Gallowsraven 01-22-2012 07:14 PM

Being screwed around by the JobCentre among various familial issues and some i'll just list as "other", different from yours though; if you need to talk we're all here to listen kay. I've almost been in your position several times now in the last few years so i kinda know how it feels to a much lower degree.

To be honest there're that many issues with me right now it's easier not to list them ^.^'

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 09:27 PM

I'm sorry that you has a lot of problems. I wish I could fix them.

Serra Britt 01-22-2012 10:35 PM

@Gallows, It's not remembering the dreams that's the problem. I don't WANT to remember them. Remembering a dream every so often is fine for me but usually when it's more than 1 day in a row it indicates I'm sick. I don't feel sick but I've still had this happen.

A friend of mine's mother suggested I write them down if only to get them out of my head. I don't know if I want to do that, it sort of feels like I'll only reinforce them if I do. Will I? I don't know. I may just consider it if they really refuse to leave.

Lunaryon 01-22-2012 10:54 PM

No. If you write them down then they are no longer inside of your mind. It's sorta like talking about a traumatic experiance. It hurts at first, but afterwords you feel better because you are free of it.

Serra Britt 01-22-2012 10:56 PM

Which is exactly what my friend's mom said. I suppose I should consider it, heh.

Gallowsraven 01-23-2012 05:57 AM

It's not just that it gets them out of your mind and leaves you free to forget about them the rest of the day, there could be a pattern to the ones you remember and writing them down could hep you identify it. If you don't usually remember them then there's obviously a reason that you do, and there's probably something your subconscious wants you to remember or realise. You'd be surprised what can come out of them.

Plus those written-down dreams have other uses; mine become story-fodder ^.^

Taiania 01-23-2012 03:42 PM

Awww so many problems this time of year. :( All I can offer is hugs and a place to let it all out.

Lunaryon 01-23-2012 03:47 PM

I wish I could remember my dreams... they would probably make great story fodder.

Gallowsraven 01-23-2012 06:00 PM

My therapy at the moment for my issues is a nice jar of mallow-fluff, which unfortunately i can't seem to find anywhere. If any of you know where i might be able to (the easier the nicer) i'll give you a cyber-cookie *big-wibbly-puppy-eyes*

Heh, i'm addicted to fluffernutter sandwhiches ^.^

Also; i am bored, i have my nice new crystal bible open in front of me, so let's pick a random eh ;) Be warned - i do not know what all these words might mean, especially the scientific ones; find your own dictionary for them because i can't.

Shiva Lingham stone:

Available in a variety of earthy colours and hues and a type of crypto-crystalline quartz. It is found in only one place; the Narmada River in Onkar Mandhata, a sacred place in India. Once a year a select few locals wade into this river and gather these stones from the river bed, after which they are then carefully hand-chosen in a variety of sizes and skillfully polished by hand to the correct proportions (and a very distinctive shape).

This stone is a very potent sacred talisman with many uses. It is used in Feng Shui to direct energy flow around the home, a property believed to pertain to the stone's being left to centuries' worth of the energy flows of its mother river before extraction. It is also hepful in matters of love and relationships, and is believed to help strengthen a current reationship or help the couple move on if nothing is left. The Shiva Lingham stone is related to fertility, and is also believed to aid in the working environment when there is either resentment over gender between yourself and a boss/colleague or if there is unwanted sexual tension/attention; just keep it in your desk-drawer!

A note for the older witches and crystal-enthusiasts/interested among you guys; the Shiva Lingham stone is often referred to as a very potent lithic (stone) stimulant.

Sadly this beautiful and potent stone is fast becoming quite rare, as less and less stones are found each year.

Taiania 01-24-2012 05:20 AM

You can get it at aldi of all places. You should have seen me when I found it. I hugged the jar all the way around the shop.

Ooooooh so pretty.

Gallowsraven 01-24-2012 06:09 AM

Aldi?! OMG i luv you so much!!!!! I've been looking everywhere for it and haven't found it! *hugs Tai-chan and kisses cheek* wuv wuv wuv u!!!!

*runs off to Aldi to stock up*

Onto our earlier topic of dreams, i just had another wacky one last night! Can't remember it all now but i remember most of it . . . i think . . .

Ok, so i'm in this weird tamed-jungle/zoo/theme park sort of place and there're a whole group of other people there and i meet them in an open-air shop. Turns out i have a job there! Anyway two funny-looking dogs (kinda like jackals only not) show up and walk around (one liac-grey-blue the other brown-beige) and the people in this shop tell me the dogs are sorta like demons and carry people off. Or was it ghosts?

Anyway, they won't leave this litte kid (girl i think) alone, so when someone else mentions to me that they love chocolate ice cream (or cream) i drag tubs of the stuff outside (told ya it was wacky; one minute open-air the next indoors . . . how'd ya fit a jungle indoors?) and scoop some onto my hand to lure them outside to the sweet-stuffs. Then i come back inside, close the door and wipe off my hands. It's about now that i find out i arrived with a guy (can't remember his face but i know i've seen it before). I'm told something (can't remember what) that makes me dislike the people and, when i see the jackal-dogs leave, i go outside and follow them down a cliff and end up on a boat of all places on the river!

Turns out the jackal-dogs were people that got cursed or something to spend so much time each day in that form. Anyway, i spend some time on that boat with them and another bigger boat appears that spooks the crew. Two of them have challenges to face on it or something and failure means . . . something bad . . . anywho, i sorta fly onto the ship (become red mist) and take the challenges for them and they're so easy for me. I go back onto the other boat and the captain - who was one of the dogs - says something to thank me and then says something else that i don't like and it makes me argue with him before heading back to the bigger boat. I wake up before i see much else.

Wacky huh? Now you all know why my dreams are story-fodder ^.^

Taiania 01-24-2012 06:20 AM

That was a cool dream. :D

Gallowsraven 01-24-2012 02:25 PM

Yep. Odd one for me too. I know where some of it's come from; the room i was standing in is the front lounge of my gran's old house, which is currently in the process of being sold, one of the guys (either the captain or the first one) looked a cross between Luke and Reaver from Fable2 and other ittle bits like that, and some others are probaby my imagination inserting bits and bobs of fairytales i know, then the rest is just pure sub-conscious and imagination.

My mind doesn't half like to work in mysterious ways ^.^

:D I'm a christian pagan; beginning on my path. I mostly follow Christian and Rabbinic Kabbalah, but I dabble in Wicca and have studied Gnosticism. I am also studying different forms of internal martial arts and meditations, and am both a Tarot reader and writer.

Hi

Taiania 01-24-2012 02:38 PM

Welcome Arsis ^_^

Lol Gallows you should hear some of my dreams. XD

Arsis_von_Neaera 01-24-2012 04:02 PM

Yay! Welcomes appreciated. Thank you. Looking forward to connections. :)

Taiania 01-24-2012 04:50 PM

It's always nice to see a new face around. ^_^

Arsis_von_Neaera 01-24-2012 06:03 PM

The irony of that statement is beautiful on more levels than one.

Lunaryon 01-24-2012 06:38 PM

Hello Arsis! How are you?

Serra Britt 01-24-2012 11:40 PM

Oki, dreams. Last night's was rather odd, it was, well...a remake of an old dream. Like how video games are remade, it was the same dream as one I had a few years ago except with "upgraded elements" if that makes sense...

Hi again Arsis :3

Lunaryon 01-24-2012 11:46 PM

I am intrigued... do tell Serra

Serra Britt 01-24-2012 11:49 PM

Well, I didn't remember much of it when I woke up except that the storyline of the dream was familiar but the events played out differently? Kind of hard to explain.

Lunaryon 01-24-2012 11:51 PM

Ah... Dang I wanted to know what was going on in your head.

Serra Britt 01-24-2012 11:58 PM

It was fuzzy when I woke up...sorry ^^;
