you just trade them for rations or waters

it's only a way to get more rations or waters. Rubies, Rubie and treasue, treasure or aurum are the prizes.

you can get
aur, treasure, rubies, rubies with treasure, rations or waters XD

rubies with treasure are so hard. @.@ the game always kills me for being greedy.

Well, you can buy items through the currency you earn. But no, it doesn't award items directly.
