Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:04 AM

-waves to the sneaky person-

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:10 AM

*also sneaks back in*

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:11 AM

-waves with other hand-

Yeah. I'm that talented.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:12 AM

Yeah, but can you rub your belly and pat your head at the same time?

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:17 AM

... Yes, actually, but don't ask me to talk while I do it.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:27 AM

Heheh, yeah, that's one thing too many.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:28 AM

It's true. Things start going downhill when people ask for three things from me.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:31 AM

LOL! Same here.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:35 AM

Brilliant! We're so alike, it's crazy sometimes.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:38 AM

Heheh, scary, isn't it?

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:43 AM

A little bit, yeah. Makes me wonder if we've got some parallel universes bumping together.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 02:50 AM

Entirely possible. I believe in an infinite number of universes.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 02:55 AM

I believe in... stuff. Pretty much, if it has good reasoning behind it, I'm not likely to just brush it off.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:06 AM

I believe a universe results from different decisions or occurences. For instance, a universe where at least one of Katherine of Aragon's sons lived and Henry never divorced her.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:07 AM

That makes for a hell of a lot of universes, the majority of which neither of us exist in.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:11 AM

*nods* We probably exist only in a couple dozen of the nearest universes.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:12 AM

Couple dozen? I'd imagine that to be a vast understatement.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:16 AM

All it would take is a simple change for me not to exist. If my mother had never gotten a job in New Mexico, if gamma globulin had been discovered a few years later, etc.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:23 AM

This is true, but there's also so many other yous there would be from changes made since you were born. -nodnod-

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:23 AM

*looks confused* Huh?

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:26 AM

If there's new ones with every choice or event, then you would've also been branching out towards infinity selves with every choice made in your lifetime. Not just within your own, either. Ever choice by every person in the entire world, and whatever other beings in other worlds there are, each one would call for a new universe in this theory. Many would have the same yous as other universes do, because YOU haven't changed between them, but other things have.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:32 AM

Oh, I get you now. Like if I decided on a different major, never went to college, moved to another city, etc.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:33 AM

Yep! The number would be a hell of a lot bigger.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 03:53 AM

*muses* Perhaps we are all born in one and only one universe and everything spreads out from there.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:55 AM

Seems like it would be pretty all or nothing with this sort of thing, if you ask me. Even without new ones for little choices (which I kinda assumed from the start), we're talking an insane number.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:01 AM

But there's room enough for all of them!

Gallagher 04-15-2012 04:01 AM

True! But... So many!

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:26 AM

Well, since we'll never know but one, it's cool.

What are your feelings on different universes based on TV shows and books?

Gallagher 04-15-2012 04:28 AM

A very interesting idea. One that brings in even MORE universes! Possible, I suppose.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:31 AM

Heheh, I like the idea myself.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 04:34 AM

Is a very bueno thought. -nods-

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:38 AM

*chuckles* Imagine a universe with Doctor Who, or Stargate.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 04:39 AM

Number nine was the best. I miss him. That is all.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:40 AM

I didn't know the later Doctors. Tom Baker will forever be my favorite.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 04:42 AM

Ooo, a very nice choice! Nine was my first, so I'm probably biased. Probably.

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 04:51 AM

*nods* Tom Baker was my first which shows you how old I am!

Going to call it a night. Thanks for a really interesting conversation!

Gallagher 04-15-2012 07:00 AM

-flops around- Arrghh, not nearly enough items that look like injuries...

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 12:43 PM

Oh, you saw a preview? Cool.

Gallagher 04-15-2012 03:52 PM

What? No, I just want more items that look like ows!

Red Calypso 04-15-2012 09:23 PM

Ah. Like scars and such.
