And if I took it to the police they'd just give it back to you after 60 days anyways... I mean If I knew whose wallet it belonged to and if they weren't a total prick sure I'd give it back to them. Except it's not, because one's behavior in unimportant situations, like a wallet, and their behavior in important ones, like war changing ones, are completely and utterly different. If we are only talking about a wallet, then yes, give it back, no matter who its owner is. If we're talking about something that changes more than just that... It still depends. Forgive me for going HP for a moment here, but if something good could come of it like what happened with a certain headmaster's death, then...

Well... You could also argue its a cause and effect type of thing. Like because you didn't give him his wallet you inadvertently started WW2
Still I guess I'm more... Realistic in the matter mhmm. If you know who the wallet belongs to then give it back but if you don't you run the chance of giving the wallet back to the wrong person and nothing is accomplished |

Its the cosmic ripple effect theory mhmm. Like if you you went back in time and you left a footprint, killed an insect etc you'd change the future forever. So yeah it is possible it is both or neither. Though either way it boils down to would you or wouldn't you if you didn't know the out come.
