Maple-glazed salmon with walnuts.

Oh, that's generation 3, the one from 2003-09
it's even worse then Gen 2 which was my generation's show. GOOD GOD THAT IS SOME 90's LOOKIN' ANIMATION. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5H7Ym66Tvt0 |
Jesus god
What the hell is this pink family that all looks the same? |
I don't know, the most memorable pony is the blue one and he's a little douche.
everything prior to Friendship is Magic was kinda terrible. |
LOLOLOLOLOL
Willis I showed it to Ryan and that is exactly what he said: the blue one is a little douche. Those exact words. |
friendship is magic is pretty god-awful too, it is just better drawn which is something ubiquitous to animation in general
i like making orange-walnut shrimp |
TELL HIM TO STOP THAT!
Willis, someone tried to defend that shit by saying "It's old and they didn't have much of a premise to work with" You know what's also from the late 80's early 90's and didn't have much of a premise? This: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YLbpUsBjjfg We're talking about a show inspired by freaking CANDY. What excuse do the ponies have? Chocobo: I actually kinda like MLP Gen 4, it has it's merits and the characters are more memorable by far. |
Friendship Is Magic is really good. >:[ It does not have that ridiculous sugar-water vibe that previous generations had.
And no, being old is not an excuse for the older shows to be so bland and crapulous. Also, he said it first. |
PFFFT!
It was my thought...... |
...-crawls behind the bar, curls up, and goes to sleep-
|
*Pokes Espy with broom*
Oi! No sleepin' behind the bar! If yer gonna curl up in a drunken stupor there's a perfectly good spot under the table in the corner! |
-mutters something incomprehensible and rolls further under the bar-
|
they are memorable because they are /your/ ponies, you are part of the brony mob that rejects all the girliness of the older gens and takes the heavily recycled and brightly colored syrup as the best
also, it is shown that first and third gen are by far the most popular gen and the fourth gen has a painfully low marketability that is only barely scraping alongside with gen three which was so abysmal it was scrapped and the first and third gens dont have any visible effects of it and looks like the first |
same crap as before only nicer art >>;; congrats
|
...except not, having seen episodes from the different generations and compared them strictly based on actual plot and characterization content.
|
....I liked it because it reminds me of fraggle rock in a way. Plus some of the songs are catchy, and I wouldn't really consider them "My Ponies" I grew up with the second generation and remembered nothing from it nor did I ever seek it out. Sure the current show isn't what I'd call deep or profound but it feels more coherent in it's writing and the characters are more defined than previous generations. There was more effort put into making this an actual narrative story whereas previous generations were basically trying to sell the toys.
|
wrong again, the overall amount of pony variations is fairly consistent and no again if you take into effect books and subsets and toys
i kid you not you really are just like all the other pony lovers only less accepting of paid merchandise and collecting. this is a popculture fad and when gen five comes out even if the next gen says 'it is the best ever' you will defend yours trust me, my friend is a pony freak and stands behind gen one all the way because that is 'her' pony and she does it and feels it the same way you do only she actually buys the crap that goes with it instead of making mlp generated ocs and pop-tastic demotivationals |
sweetheart this is the only generation pitched at boys too and the episode of gen four i watched was a rehash of a gen one episode i watched only without the little girls or creepy monsters
dude fraggle rock was great XD |
Well, if you're going to make assumptions about me and my line of reasoning, I'm not going to bother explaining it any further.
|
there are books essays and prolly even a documentary or two on the subject all saying pretty much the same thing XD i am just vomiting up all the stuff i have learned, personally i think /all/ the mlps suck balls
|
BI Oi oi, dun be hatin' on MLP or I'll get Gall.
|
As my interest in ponies is very limited I never did more than watch some of the show from various generations. The acting and writing in Gen 2 and more so in gen 3 is very flat. I also feel that gen 4 is for a slightly older demographic so the writing is a touch more sophisticated.
And Fraggle Rock is great |
dude, me and my brother got smurfs snorks fragglerock and tales from the crypt X''D mlp was something i had not even know was a cartoon until i was pubecent
|
on a related not heman was absolute shit and yet i still say i like it X'D so it is prolly best all my education is as an outsider
|
I had to watch Ponies as a kid, along with Jem and The Holograms (Another show I despise to this day) I wasn't fond of Transformers either Although I liked GI Joe, which was by the same company. I liked the X-men cartoon too but I like the X-men less in general now that I'm older, I feel they don't make as much sense in the Marvel universe as they should and I can see the logic behind the whole "mutant registration act"
My favorite nostalgic show is Batman The Animated Series. |
batman<3 though poggio got me into jem a few months ago and while the plot was a poopoo sandwich i am rather impressed with the animation considering when it was made XD
dude, batman is my biggest fanboy thing hahahahaha if not for the nineties cartoon i would not care at all, joker is my fave alvin and the chipmonks was the one i was forced into and the music too XD luckily i have memories of mario and pappy(pappy<3<3) |
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Kyp3TBRONs go to 6:45 for how i became an artist XD i remember my first one, it was that damn giraffe
because of pappy you guys get this; http://25.media.tumblr.com/be7355874...wztmo1_400.png |
One thing I never understood about Jem, Why were the Misfits NEVER arrested? I mean they've got everything from arson to attempted murder and why does Jem have to keep her identity a secret? Why does she flirt with that one purple haired dude while she's Jem? ARRRGH *Head explodes from the amount of plot holes*
I have loved Batman since I was six. It was really the only comic series I actually got into. Ohh, I never saw Pappyland as a kid. |
dude i heard pog say that exact same thing XD
yuuuus~ got me into the movies and the comics and all that jazz yeah i think it was a southern cartoon like fragglerock, never really knew anyone over the masondixon line who saw it XD though pappy could not have had a long life, the show itself was horrifying with the puppets and only good for the art segment XD i know nothing else except the art parts |
I remember seeing Pappyland, though I don't recall much more than "Pappy's highlights" as I watched him shade the arse of a cartoon horse. I think of that moment every time I add highlights when I color. And sometimes of the terrifying paintbrush.
|
XD oh god, so much better than my thing of making entire parts of art then -stop- make another entire part -stop- XD
though the music was oddly enough something i remembered XD how about eurka's castle? |
>w> and big comphy couch; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hqZoK1bq2hs
|
Not really familar with Eurka's castle either,
I didn't really start with art until I was in my teens and the person I can credit for that has to be this man. http://www.youtube.com/watch?NR=1&v=...ture=endscreen |
