well it's just a portable one so it doesn't keep it THAT cool but def. cooler.

However, my coworkers all just thought they should leave the front door open so now it's getting really hot.

ZenKitty 05-02-2016 08:14 PM

It's the humidity that bothers me, whether it's wet cold or wet heat. I'm cooler in the desert at 110 degrees than I am in 90 degrees and humid here. XD

Glitch 05-02-2016 08:24 PM

I find the humidity part to be kind of refreshing in a weird way XD I don't know why!!

SekeNeko 05-02-2016 08:28 PM

omg x.x
i wouldt be able to stand it if it was hot at work. i get a good work out just doing the work xD

Glitch 05-02-2016 08:42 PM

somebody think up a contest i can host in my thread here.

ZenKitty 05-02-2016 08:49 PM

I'm still learning my way around Trisphee, so I'm not sure I can help with that Glitch. XD

SekeNeko 05-02-2016 08:53 PM

a haiku poem revolving around our water themed avatars!?! xD

Glitch 05-02-2016 08:53 PM

nobody likes writing things! I already learned this lesson!

SekeNeko 05-02-2016 08:57 PM

ok then >.>

Glitch 05-02-2016 09:03 PM

xD <3

keep brainstorming. I'm putting this in your hands.

SekeNeko 05-02-2016 09:36 PM

huh!?! why me!?! -whines-

how about best chibi drawing of there avi?
best outside with pet?
create an avi that looks like an anime or tv character!

ZenKitty 05-02-2016 09:52 PM

Avi contests are really hard here because you have to own the items to design outfits.

I loved those contests at another site, because anyone could design something with anything that was released. The only limitation was one's own creativity. Not so here. :(

Glitch 05-02-2016 10:05 PM

I have no say in this at all so don't look at me --- my personal opinion since I played Gaia back in the day before dream editors were even a thing --- value became associated with items that you wanted but didn't own. It required an intense level of creativity and questing in order to get the items you want so you can make the avatar you have envisioned in your mind. It made people become really creative with avatar contests. Anyway --- I am just saying this because I've never utilized dream avatar editors because I never wanted to make an outfit I couldn't own, or had to wait for. The one they did on tektek for Gaia --- I only used the editor for items I already owned. (Which I would like to see here, the current layout makes it difficult to remember what all the poses are.)

ANyway I am rambling, it's super dead at work and I am super duper bored. XD

I could do a drawing contest. I normally do coloring since some people get intimidated by others and don't enter because they don't think they could win. But it would still be fun to try one. Maybe something like "draw _____ as a blob!" or something.

whatcha think

Tiva 05-02-2016 10:06 PM

The Dream Outfit creators are really intensive and take a long time and upkeep. It is a lot more work than the staff can keep up with. The lack of one also encourages people to buy the items because they can't make avi's without them.

Also Glitch - You make a pretty dragon

Glitch 05-02-2016 10:14 PM

Tiva said what I was trying to say, in a much shorter and simpler manner. Listen to Tiva.

O ty <3

ZenKitty 05-02-2016 10:35 PM

I'm not a coder so I don't know about coding for a preview system. However there was only one person keeping that up at the other site. It seemed like once the coding was done, it was just a matter of adding in the items as they were developed. I do understand that setting it up would be time intensive though.

As far as buying things - without a preview system or something that lists all of the items and what they look like on an avi, who knows what item is what? Tiva's argument only works for current items. Who would want to buy something they haven't seen?

Regardless, without a preview system, avi contests would be heavily slanted toward long time users - unless you did something that used the free items, current event items, and/or crane game items only. Then everyone would have an equal chance.

Just my two cents.

Tiva 05-02-2016 10:52 PM

Several contests use tools to make it fair. I have held Commons only Contests, Themes with a spending limit, specific items from current events.
It depends on how creative a person is, not their wallet size.

If you are trying to preview old items I can direct you to the Old Item guide, it has the items up til 2014. And you can always use the Announcements thread to see poses from when an item came out. Or you see something a user has and ask which item it is. Your arguments are only valid if you don't use the resources provided to you by the Trisphee user base.

And I know that someone said that they were going to try to make a Dream Creator, but considering how much time you put into the Item previews of each thing (Remember independent layering plus over 25 colors with 4 to 6 hues each) It would be super time consuming to set up. The upkeep is about 3 to 4 hours per item, adding it in, saving the images, and the actual coding.

Glad to learn that.

For good or bad, I'm a very visual person and it's hard for me to imagine what something looks like without it being on an avi. To truly grasp how items will look together means I need to see them together on an avi. (This could be a function of unfamiliarity with the items and site, or it might be the way I'm wired, however I can't believe I'm the only one like this.) I've seen DK's old item guide, but it only shows a small amount of the items here. As far as old announcements, I've looked through those, but they don't show all of the items on an avi.

Plus, nothing that I've seen here so far shows what an item will look like on my avi unless I've purchased it, which is a drawback for someone who wants to see something first.

It would be great to learn that I've missed something, so please direct me to areas that will help with this. Thanks!

Hmm... Like I said, I'm not a coder, but I thought the other system had a database that was coded to just copy the item and paste it in, check to be sure the color drop down bar worked and everything looked good in preview and then publish it. Much faster than hours per item. But again, I'm not a coder, so I could be mistaken.

Nevertheless, to set something up like this would take a tremendous amount of hours and there could be many more things that have a higher priority. Plus I realize that if I had never experienced a different system, I wouldn't be missing it right now.

To give you an idea of how visual I am, before the old site developed a preview system, I used photoshop to cut and paste clothes onto the avi to see what outfit I wanted to purchase and lurked in the background until I had the perfect one. That's not an option for me now as my Photoshop program was buried with my old dead hard drive. XD

Yikes. Have you seen the doctor yet? There can be a lot of reasons for that and there are creams and meds to help.

Hope you feel better today.

Tiva 05-03-2016 11:05 AM

Hives are not good Law, not good at all. Take some benedryl please.

Yeah, some people have done that…. Not I said the cat. If you are ever interested in an item though I have… 90% of the items

Glitch 05-03-2016 11:58 AM

some of the users have been attempting to work on an item guide in the shops. You can certainly look there <3

Also if it's still in the store you can click it to see the preview of all the poses.

That's the best I can help with right now D:

ZenKitty 05-03-2016 12:58 PM

Thanks for the help.

Got another question. Is there an item you purchase, or another way to remove your avatar and just have animals?

trystan830 05-03-2016 01:00 PM

Zen - when you go to the 'edit avatar' screen, next to the 'layering' link, click on whichever gender your avi base is, and all the way at the bottom, the very last box is blank - that's essentially 'no base'
