and yes, I am aware that OCs would be the vague, general idea of topic focus. I was more looking for specific aspects of conversation to which I could relate, as I know nothing about the particular story already being discussed and thus have little to add. :P

I am making Art of Chocobo's queen of hearts character and Chocobo is explaining his backstory.

though if i was less lzy i would finish the version with the correct skirt XD the patterns are iconic enough you can tell without a title who he is

OK, yes. This is what I meant. We are talking about complex backstories and such, got it. And I do like when people ask questions. They just tend not to. r nr
Not that I'm very good at coming up with questions to ask, myself. There's always "what inspired this idea?" and "do you spend a lot of time fine-tuning the details?", though.

As for my own, I guess it depends on what you'd consider complex. Some are definitely more involved than others, but they're all unique and interesting in their own way.

littl3chocobo 03-04-2013 05:28 PM

i prefer "why did xx say that?' XD like you were talking about real people

i mean someone you could believe was a real person because they are 3d enough to have personalities outside of the cookie-cutter ones

Willis and I have tons of OCs, but I'd have to say Kurt and Randy are my favorite.

Is Kurt: http://herr-drosselmeyer.deviantart....Kurt-357379121

He and Randy have years of history.

Gallagher 03-04-2013 05:28 PM

A Galla's OC senses are tingling.

Red Lion 03-04-2013 05:29 PM

Galla would be right, we are discussing our OCs.

Gallagher 03-04-2013 05:33 PM

I like talking the way cho mentioned, too.

Especially with my main OC that has the thing that creeps a cho.

bwahahaha

Red Lion 03-04-2013 05:35 PM

Actually, There's something willis and I do to sort of "flesh out" our characters, we start with a simple statement.

"What kind of ice cream is xx and why?"

You'd be surprised how much something like that can contribute.

Gallagher 03-04-2013 05:37 PM

Ohhhh, I love questions like that, too~ Always so much fun to figure out. But actually using a character in a rp is what gets me the most progress.

Of course, that might be because of the types of rps I do, too.

uncledaddy 03-04-2013 05:37 PM

I do like when OCs are treated as though they were real people; it adds a lot more dimension to them. I give all of my characters love and consideration. Like willis said, Kurt and Randy VIII (not to be confused with Randy, by the way, as that would be his father--though he, too, has quite a backstory) are both very intricate and have a lot of tangled history between them. All of my characters, though, are very much "alive" to me and have their own distinct personalities and traits. Character development is one of my favorite things in the world, so you can bet I don't leave much of anything out.

Gallagher 03-04-2013 05:41 PM

My main OC has this slight issue of being more trouble than he's worth and pretty much unable to play major roles in any exciting rps without serious tweaks. Ugu.

uncledaddy 03-04-2013 05:44 PM

Ohhh? Why would that be? o 3o

Red Lion 03-04-2013 05:45 PM

I rarely RP with anyone but Willis, had to many terrible RPs going on...

So it takes a lot to convince me to RP with someone else now.

Cirque 03-04-2013 05:45 PM

I come back to character development!! This is wonderful. I love coming up with characters.

Gallagher 03-04-2013 05:48 PM

Uhhh. Because he's sort of albino but not totally with no special powers or magic or athletic ability or good depth perception.

So. Pretty much useless in any adventures or anything exciting. Especially in anything historical. He has to go totally AU and have major overhauls whenever I want to include him in stuff like that.

On the plus, I've gotten good at tweaking without losing who he is.
