"No thanks necessary for a friend." Mail replied. "Do you mind if I carry you?"
"No," The younger boy admitted, resting his head against Mail's shoulder as he was scooped up, letting his eyes close. "Wammy's should be a half an hour drive..."
"Southhampton Airport is about an eight mile drive." Mail offered. "But I need directions when we get to Winchester."
"I should be awake enough by then," Near informed. "I hope that Mat... Mail has a car for rent, I refuse to let a taxi driver know where Wammy's is... if it still is there."
"Don't worry, I called in for a rental, it'll be waiting for us." Mail assured as they stepped off the plane.
Lots of people turned to look at the two as they came off the plane- finding Mail attractive and Near adorable and the combination of the older boy carrying the younger just to tie it all together just worth of stopping and staring. |
"I would think Mail would be used to this," Near informed as he noticed the redhead tense.
"I don't like the attention you and I get." Mail admitted.
Near popped an eye open, but waited until they were in the elevator and the doors were closed before he asked, "Why is that?"
"...Believe it or not, Nate thinks I soak up the attention, but I'd prefer moving around without anyone knowing." Mail told the ivory-haired boy.
"I am not surprised," Near admitted, opening both eyes now - he appeared to be waking up, though still groggy. "Most celebrities feel this way."
"Yeah...but not all celebrities are me." Mail smirked.
"I should hope not," Near informed, pushing himself into a standing position as the doors opened.
"You good to walk?" Mail asked as they stepped off.
"Yes, my thanks to Mail," Nate informed as they slipped through the less populated baggage claim, which was where they would pick up their rental car.
Mail spoke at a counter and signed off on a form before getting the car keys and heading off- taking Near's hand and leading him along.
"Mail does know that in England driving is done on the opposite side from America, correct?" Near pressed as they walked through the parking garage.
