Oooo, that's pretty!

Kaderin Triste 07-30-2018 03:21 PM

I don't know where July has gone, but it's almost August, so we need a new theme!

Damies 07-30-2018 07:41 PM

August theme: Pool noodles!

Kaderin Triste 07-30-2018 08:52 PM

Lol. All I can picture is a bowl of blue noodles...

Kaderin Triste 08-01-2018 09:01 PM

Fack, I'm too tired for an official bad joke/pun filled announcement.

August theme is: Pool Noodles

Ready? Go!

Damies 08-01-2018 11:31 PM

WOOOO! POOL NOOODLES!

Kaderin Triste 08-02-2018 12:31 AM

Lol, I could totally make the fastest pool noodle ever. Make a small tube on the efg (extra fine gauge) sock loom, stuff a pipe cleaner in it, done.
XD

Damies 08-03-2018 09:43 PM

Make Derpy his own pool noodle to beat people away from his cookies with!

Derpy McBlueEyes 08-04-2018 01:25 AM

"Yeah! Make me a pool noodle!"

KittyBeary 08-04-2018 03:28 AM

..... wow ok xDDD

*sewing a doll dress*

Damies 08-06-2018 09:58 AM

Finishing up a painting commission today! Should be getting paid and shipping it this week! 8D

Kaderin Triste 08-06-2018 02:50 PM

Yay! That's excite!

I thought about working on a few different things yesterday, but started on a tiny rainbow dragon instead. Hopefully I have more of the yarn I was using though, because I ran out of the bit I had been using after just the head and back.
I think I do have more though because it was the stuff I used for my dreamcatcher wings last year and there should be AT LEAST an orange to green color gradient segment of it left and that should be enough for possibly 2-3 more parts.

Den, I feel you (construction everywhere sucks!), yet that quote cracks me up :p-grin:

*mutters to myself about how all we have to do is use better materials and stop using the cheapest crap for roads and this wouldn't be such an epidemic*
*sigh*

Anyway, how pool noodle?

trystan830 08-07-2018 01:58 PM

EverAshwood 08-07-2018 02:28 PM

Lmfao!!

I'm half tempted to just crochet a doll-sized pool noodle tbh because I have no idea
Pool noodle cover?
That weird hack on facebook where you make a fake column with pool noodles?
I am confusion

trystan830 08-07-2018 04:08 PM

i'm always confused, so welcome the club! XD

Death by Mirrors 08-07-2018 04:11 PM

Pool noodle light saber
Pool noodle mini shower
Pool noodle floating lights
Pool noodle lounger

You're welcome. :p-cool:

Kaderin Triste 08-07-2018 04:40 PM

Oh man, I have a great, silly pool noodle idea...

Also, someone was totally selling pool noodle lightsabers at the farmer's market.

Den 08-12-2018 11:34 PM

I'm still working on that knitted baby doll ensemble... I've got two different colors of grosgrain ribbon and I'm having a hard time picking which color to use as accents. Mint or Lavender...

Damies 08-14-2018 07:34 AM

Does it count that I cut a pool noodle so I could lean on my desk without the edge digging into my arms? xD

Death by Mirrors 08-14-2018 05:12 PM

...yeah. Home improvement qualifies as hobby.

Den 08-14-2018 08:07 PM

I'd certainly say that counts. and that's pretty clever.

Kaderin Triste 08-14-2018 08:10 PM

Not the initial pool noodle hobby craft I think of, but it totally counts!

Damies 08-14-2018 09:43 PM

YAY I WIN! But what do I win? NOTHING! YAAAAY!

Mom splurged on a 72 dollar crochet hook set.

Den 08-15-2018 01:08 AM

... Are they made of fancy wood or something?

Kaderin Triste 08-15-2018 01:14 AM

Damn! That better be a really good set!

Damies 08-15-2018 09:08 AM

They are her favorite ergonomic hooks and she has been wanting a set of them a while and finally took the leap.

Kaderin Triste 08-15-2018 01:53 PM

Ohh...yeah, ergonomic ones can be pretty pricy.
But you know what? I bought an ergonomic loom hook on clearance, and I 100% support buying ergonomic stuff for crafting now because it is so oddly comfy to use despite it's size. Most loom hooks I can only use for so long, but I can use the ergonomic one for hours with no finger/hand pain.

Death by Mirrors 08-15-2018 07:55 PM

I've never tried an ergonomic hook, but my hands hurt most when doing regular knitting... because I always manage to poke my fingers with the needles somehow -.-"

Den 08-15-2018 09:16 PM

Ah, that makes sense. They'll be worth the money.

I always had that problem back when I was first learning. I think for me it was because my tension was off and my stitches were too tight on the needle, so I needed to use my finger to help get the stitch I was working, off without other stitches slipping. Or something of that nature. It's been almost a decade since I last tried knitting on needles...

trystan830 08-15-2018 10:05 PM

i use and love the clover soft touch hooks. i have them for my C - J (including 7) hooks =)

Damies 08-16-2018 02:04 AM

Addi Swing hooks is what mom got, she has two and will wind up with one double because of that, but she loves the ones she has and her hands are getting worse in general so it's a solid investment.
