So I can eat the body? Except for the hair on your head, the hair on your chest, and the hair...

Yah, I did get offered real money once. But I declined it so that the money could be used to help Fen buy a new computer, since her computer at the time was busted. It's just rare to get an offer of real money now since I think the site is still struggling.

Espy 06-11-2012 11:24 PM

Uh, wait. We're eating people now?

Merr 06-11-2012 11:24 PM

It's okay. I wouldn't really expect a paid offer for my tooling unless I was as good as Tea. ouob

Y.. w.. I.. I kind of want to live. ;n; You can have my fingers.. *offers my hand, trembling*

Hero 06-11-2012 11:26 PM

Just Kami right now
o_o

Your avatar looks amazing by the way Espy

Kamikaze Chinchilla 06-11-2012 11:28 PM

Tea is good, but she needs to shade and highlight more to make her items look less flat...or at least from the last time I saw her items. I don't know how her work looks like nowadays.

Your fingers? Would you want to continue living if you don't have fingers?

Merr 06-11-2012 11:31 PM

Hmm? ouo Her style is so clean. They don't exactly seem 'flat' to me..
maybe it's just personal preference, but most tool shading I hate because it's so clunky and yucky.

No, I probably wouldn't. Without fingers I couldn't make music, art, or.. uh.. >_>

Kamikaze Chinchilla 06-11-2012 11:42 PM

I like the definition and dynamics from lighting. Her style resembles something like...soft lighting...like you have in those photographs with the lighting coming in from all sides.

You make t3h arts?

Espy 06-11-2012 11:44 PM

Ah, thanks, Hero. Kind of just...slapped it together haphazardly when the ADI came out <.<;;

Merr 06-11-2012 11:46 PM

XD I've been talking about pixeling and tooling. yes, I do art.
Do you know the artist who did the cloud item you're standing on?

Kamikaze Chinchilla 06-11-2012 11:49 PM

Noes, I meant like....standard CG arts xD;;... Not like pixel arts.

I pixeled the cloud item I'm standing on xD

Merr 06-11-2012 11:55 PM

Oh. Yes. I actually don't do pixeling/tooling as often as regular arts.
But, I've just started getting into digital painting. I'm not sure how well it will go e_e I've never done much like it before.. I'm using Sai for it. I'm kind of scared to start shading this piece, actually. Like, really scared. orz
I wish I could just keep painting forever, and never have to do it digitally ;o;

Then you are one of the few toolers that I like on this site. |D
... That sounds really dickish, but it's nothing personal against the other artists. ;n; rlly.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 06-12-2012 12:12 AM

Try some clipped layers xD. It's like...a cookie cutter for the lazy artist xD ---For me, real painting scares me. Cuz it's harder to fix things...and I tend to make a lot of slip ups along the way xD;

I felt the same way when I started getting active again. There were some...really bad ones at the time. It upset me. That's why I wanted to fix some of the bad items (the concepts were good, but the execution was poor). Then I stopped trying to fix things due to various factors.

Merr 06-12-2012 12:15 AM

Ah. D: I don't know what a clipped layer is..

I love watercolors. Mistakes are blessings from fate - use them in your work! *0*
/oozes cheese

Oh, yes. The items are part of the reason why I've never gotten into this site e_e I came back, ready to be active again.. looked at the rune shop.. and left immediately. ;n;

My kitty's romping around my room chasing a fly~ Good girl! haha. Now stop being so noisy. >:C

Espy 06-12-2012 12:19 AM

Clipped layers. I have no idea how I worked before I knew those existed XD

Runes shop....the monthlies or yearlies? (And what's wrong with them? Too shiny? XD)

Merr 06-12-2012 12:24 AM

Ah, this was a bit ago. Not the current. ouo
They were just.. not good. The colors and shading combined were really gross; that's the most I can remember. n_n;

Espy, those boots you're wearing.. are they commons?
/edit
found them! *o*

Imagine having a piece of paper that's already been colored to the shape of a stencil that you've used. Without the stencil, if you were to try to color or shade that shape in, you'd have to be careful about coloring within the stenciled area. The clipped layer is like...having transparent paper on top of your art, and you use the stencil on that piece. Whatever you've colored on that transparent paper doesn't impact the paper below it, and it all stays within the area of the stencil. So you can remove or edit the second paper without damaging the image below, and you don't have to be so careful about coloring within the lines 83

With watercolors, I agree. When you slip up and the colors blend, it makes the work look more dynamic and awe-inspiring.

I hope that wasn't during a time where I've done some DI's rofl xD...

Flies..yum yum protein!
