Cool beans. Do you recommend to start from the first episode or is it more like Big Bang Theory or Criminal Minds where each episode is a standalone story and you can start with whatever one happens to be on TV right now? *grabs program*

Start at the beginning.
It's more like Friends in that each episode is kind of a standalone story, but there's also a wider general plot/character stories so watching at random could be a little confusing.

Ok, cool - then I'll do that. Haven't found it on TV anywhere, but my local library owns the DVDs. Except someone already got to season one first. It's due friday, so I'm gonna head there right before the weekend. And I think there's a reasonable chance I already know my favorite character.

A few years ago a new The Sims forum decided to raffle off the new expansion pack among all members, with each post a user made on that forum being one raffle ticket to their name. Needless to say, post numbers increased by tons - but let's not talk about quality. I don't visit that forum anymore.
