Red Lion 03-19-2013 01:12 AM

Indeed, but it will have to wait until tomorrow, I have to wake up in the morning so I'm going to bed. Goodnight.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 01:13 AM

Roo, goodnight Willis.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 03:09 PM

Hello willis.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 03:15 PM

Willis

What common household items weigh fifty pounds? I have no idea if I can lift "upwards of 50 pounds" or not. :s

Red Lion 03-19-2013 03:50 PM

Uhhhh, A small coffee table, a tv, five large bags of potatoes.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 03:52 PM

Don't have no potatoes or coffee tables... uh. have tv. Probably can't move it from its thing.

Lauv Keiko 03-19-2013 03:54 PM

oh hey gaiz.
'sup.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 03:56 PM

I dunno what the heck willis is doing. But I am trying to determine whether I can lift fifty pounds so I can apply to a job. o _o Hi.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 04:00 PM

Willis is doing geometry homework

......your big suitcase when full is about 50 lbs I'd say.

Lauv Keiko 03-19-2013 04:06 PM

what kind of job is that if you're required to lift 50lbs?
o3o

also...

Quote:

Bro, Do you even lift?

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 04:10 PM

; A; Should have seen that one coming
but no
I sure as hell don't. /sob I am so out of shape.

...I thought about the suitcase, actually. It's pretty heavy when full, but I do lift it when necessary. I think I may as well go ahead and apply; I really doubt this heavy-lifting is gonna be an actual issue. And if it is, maybe they'll be kind enough to help me out until I build up a little goddamn strength. XD

It's a cake decorating job. Though nearly every job I find (mostly in the realm of janitors/dishwashers and sometimes cake decorators) requires that applicants be able to lift between 25-50 pounds. This one in particular says "upwards of 50 pounds", though, which makes me think they've got some hefty bags of stuff that I'll need to move around. I think I can manage...
-_- And as my grandma constantly says, "Just because I apply for the job doesn't mean I'm gonna get it" anyway.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 04:17 PM

Indeed, I figure if you can lug around that suitcase you'll be fine.

...I can lift pretty close to my own weight when needed. I can also lift my dog Max and he weights more than 80 lbs, 50 isn't really as heavy as it sounds.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 04:25 PM

The thing about weight is, it depends more on the package than the number. Something fifty pounds that I can get a good grip on and sort of lift from the bottom, easy. Something of the same weight that I have to kind of grab with my fingers and pull up, not so easy.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 04:33 PM

Indeed, is all about the handling.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 04:43 PM

Ugh I hate job applications. ; A; almost makes me wish I was in school.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 04:59 PM

School isn't so terrible, but is spensive,

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:01 PM

And I can't afford anything, much less anything expensive.

I shall read as soon as i finish this application.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:03 PM

Indeed, but you could get a grant or financial aid if you went to school.

But I think you'd better save school for a last resort anyway.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:04 PM

Exactly. Money-wise, there are ways of going about it, but time-and-effort-wise, I still can't afford it right now.

...Should I list you as a reference? o_o

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:05 PM

You could, and I wouldn't mind.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:06 PM

Roo. Because all these things want two or three references and I don't know that many people who aren't relatives. XD

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:09 PM

Indeed, You can put my name down, that will give you at least one that isn't married or related to you.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:10 PM

'Deed. I figure I can use Sally, too, as I was told to use her as a reference in the past. XP Though I don't think her phone even works properly, so if they actually want to call someone, you it may have to be.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:11 PM

Which will be fine.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:16 PM

Oh dear god I thought I had just finished the application. That was the PRE-application. ._. /facepalm

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:17 PM

WFT

A PRE-APPLICATION?

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:20 PM

Seriously. Now comes TWELVE PAGES of "strongly agree-strongly disagree" statements involving feelings about work.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:21 PM

Ooooooooi.

I am so sorry willis.

Lauv Keiko 03-19-2013 05:23 PM

@Creep: Wow, talk about encouragement and support from your grandma.
e n e

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:26 PM

Yeah, she's a really negative person. One more reason I was wary about moving back in with her, but I got no other choice. > .<

"I am the friendliest person I have ever met." Uauuhhhhh...... um

...oh lordy

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:28 PM

Hhhhhaaah

No, lovable as you are, friendly isn't really the first thing that comes to mind. I wouldn't say you're unfriendly though.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:29 PM

I just put "neutral" on that one... > n> Hopefully they won't mind.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:38 PM

I don't see why they would.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:42 PM

...because they want really friendly, outgoing people even for stuff that doesn't require it. - n-

Lauv Keiko 03-19-2013 05:42 PM

lol, job applications really do that.
pfft.
But I hope you get the job, creep.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:43 PM

Ugh,

but friendly requires that you like people indiscriminately and enjoy time consuming small talk.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:47 PM

Yes, fingers crossed. :s

I need all the luck I can get in that department. *hates people and small talk more than anything in the world*

Red Lion 03-19-2013 05:51 PM

Hopefully that won't matter so much.

uncledaddy 03-19-2013 05:54 PM

I doubt it... There are a lot of "neutral" answers on that thing. I mean, for the most part I do like working with people and all that jazz. But a lot of it just really depends on the situation. So I can't outright agree or disagree on some of those things. Like omfg a lot of the questions were about leadership. Whether or not I feel the need to take command of a situation depends on what the situation is and how much I know about it. >:s These things are way too broad.

Red Lion 03-19-2013 06:00 PM

As they always are,

you 'bout done?
