I don't understand why you can buy the sleeves individually OR as a pair. If you might want to only wear one at a time ever it makes much more sense to buy each one separately, which makes me wonder why the pair even exists at all?

Some people don't like fussing with more items/layers than they have to. I know if I only planned using an item for one outfit, I'd rather get the pair than spend more on separates. And for items I know I'll use often, buying those separates is always a must.

No, no, there's a valid question there: Why not just put the singles as alternate poses in the same item? That'd cut the number of required items by 1/3. I can't think of any drawbacks.

We DO do that for things without so many colors, but for these specific ones? There's 109 colors in that set. Ramming them all together is like whoa. I would not want to look through 327 previews to find the one I want. Ew. That hurts my brain just thinking about it.

Galla's right. It might've made sense for something like Cyber Hacker, which didn't have very many colors. But there's already enough previews to look through in the items as they are. I wouldn't want the list tripled.
