Really? Dante has no reaction to getting splattered with rotting gore? :P
|
Oh right. I'll do somethibg quick when I get home.
|
I will post something up tomorrow morning, probably moving us ahead, though I would like to encourage everyone to RP a bit more among themselves at least until we get a bit farther on and I have actual... stuff... for us to interact with.

Do you want awkward useless stalking? I can do awkward useless stalking.
|
I would love awkward useless stalking. :D
|
Yay awkward useless stalking!
|
Sorry. I've a really, /really/ bad headache right now and can't hold thoughts for too long so I might post tomorrow but definitely not today.
|
I'll see what I can come up with.
|
Mates, sorry I've been silent. I've been on the hunt for a job for a long while now. The gun store I was with was sold, so I was left without a job. Been kicking my ass for a bit now and I just haven't had the time or the mentality for proper writing. I'm trying, but it's slow. I do apologize.

I'm honestly not sure how much I'll be able to write for a while. My cousin/best friend/writing partner in crime died this weekend, I'm not exactly handling it well. I might be able to continue here, though, since it's one of the few things that doesn't expressly remind me of him. |
...I'm sorry to hear that.
|
...:-(
*Offers a hug* |
... NEW TOY!
NEW TOY NEW TOY NEW TOY! ... I mean. New meat! Wait. ... -chews on the new thing- Sorry, did I ruin the mood? |
...-headdesks-
-attempts to shove Gall to one side- |
*Throws a sparkly ball*
Go get it, Galli! Fetch! |
I...ooh, sparkles.
-runs off in a moment of complete ADD-ness- |
-watches Espy run off- ... -goes back to chewing on the new thing-
|
*headdesks*
Hmm... *grabs nice Wonka's everlasting chewy stick and throws it* |
I don't even know what that is!
Should I make a normal avi or try for something awesome? |
Flip a coin. Works for me.
Wanted to run my Character sheet by everyone before I tried writing myself into hell. |
So like, yes, as I mentioned on FB, that's a lot of physical damage that she'd have to be well-trained in to pull off. I'm worried about her seemingly very weak psychic and spiritual defenses.
|
I could say so many things about the eye, mostly because I have a character with the same situation going on, but more extreme.
So I'll keep it as, I really hope you try to play it well and not just an excuse to have neat-o eyeballs. Wait, no, I have one other comment. I find it improbable that she could deal with the side effects of her weak eye and be able to use so many projectile weapons unless the majority of its weaknesses have been repaired at some point. And her arcane knowledge should be a bit higher than that if she's been trained as well as you say to deal with their predators (because in this universe, let's be realistic, they ARE predators, not just enemies). |
She is very nimble and jumps high. Also, the Fire wheels are mainly for evasion/distraction.
Doesn't Arcane require a "gift" for it first? If not, I misunderstood the Arcane bit. (A mostly mundane warrioress/priestess who was trained to do as was stated) She is very much a dualistic character, as I said. I'll remember to use her appearance to show this as often as her tone/words, however. She is mostly close combat, like a series of daggers spinning in a tornado. |
Well, at least she's better off than Dante -- he's at a complete visual disadvantage, currently. As in, there's been nothing in the damn graveyard for so long that he won't know there's a gravestone in front of him until he trips over it.
EDIT: Which is probably going to happen sooner or later, unless someone's directly behind it. |
Sorry if there was any confusion, Arcane Knowledge is knowing things like "small arms fire is useless against Dybbuk" on through "A Cherub's most potent offense is its ability to fire thousands of lightning bolts from the eyes on its wings" all the way up to "Spiritual attacks are ineffective against Rephaim as they're composed of multiple redundant souls". It's working knowledge of how to survive all these supernatural horrors, not really similar to Knowledge (Arcana) from D&D or anything similar that focuses purely on the workings of magic.
|
Oh...changing that to high, then. (Though I don't know that stuff fully yet)
*Sees what Gallagher means* |
I tend to get more fussy when either albino (part or whole) characters get involved, or something weird starts happening with eyeballs, and this covers both. But generally speaking, the differences in strength between her eyes would seriously fuck with her depth perception (I for one can hardly even play catch with myself, and it isn't nearly as bad as this sort of scenario would most likely be), making most projectiles too iffy to even bother carrying the extra weight.
BUT AS LONG AS YOU PLAY IT WELL, I'LL SHUT UP, SO. So. :s-awesome: Yeah, as far as the arcane knowledge goes, for most of our group right now, they are just, RRGH IDK WHAT YOU ARE SO I MUST KILL YOU! |
Is it actually high, though? Anything beyond Average would require specific research or a truly prodigious career, as some of these beasts are so rare or so deadly, almost no one living has actually encountered them. Though you said she spent time in a monastery, so it's possible. Especially if there was a Saint there, since they know all the things more or less.
On my one comment on the eye thing is, it could be easily fixed with any of many available medical and cybernetic technologies (at least in the "civilized" region that Zaccheus controls.) I mean. I don't know why everyone isn't walking around with psychic diamond eyes.... |
I...actually did not know that about the depth perception (eyes almost equally horrible)
I can do that, though - I have experience with poor depth perception on a different count. Average it is then *goes back* I think I'll add gear - a sort of digital overlay - to that eye. May add the ability to see behind in that eye as well, but without the overlay (not a part of the body) she'll have to resort to using only one eye. |
Because Dante doesn't have the money to do that.
|
Her plot device to get in without being noticed was a stolen piece of experimental tech. This would be a similar piece/story.
Diamond eye? |
Oh yer, it's two well-functioning eyes that give us our depth perception in the first place. When one of them is out of commish for various reasons (most common being that the brain ignores the worse one because of the strength difference), you're left with effectively one side, so to simulate the depth perception requires more movements of the head and body to get different vantage points (and often when focusing on something, the person will tilt their head to see it dead on)
Again though, all of that is easily overcome if she has the care or tech to deal with it, because most of the issues would be repairable and just leave easy-to-compensate-for things like sensitivity. I LOVE TALKING ABOUT EYES! ehehehehehehe -pokes poor Auraboy- |

-pokes anyway-
Should think about making nice with Bugeyes over there, maybe he can hook you up. Y'all can be the Bug Bros. |
Okay, an experimental diamond eye (possible faults/blind spots)
Feel free to talk more about eyes #wantstoknoweverythingexceptpolitics |
Hurhur. I have a lot of approximate knowledge about random things I encounter while making my OCs.
Suze knows this. Espy less so, but. You just happened to run right into one of my areas because I have a character with the same exact issue. He's a lovely little tetragametic chimera, has the eye and random spots. Pink eyes isn't actually accurate for humans, btw, but let's face it, it's fuckin' pretty, and this is still make believe. DIAMOND EYES SEEM LIKE THEY WOULD HURT TO ME. |
Speaking of which, I'd have to actually research whether blindness is reversible in some way, especially with Esch technology.
|
I was reading an article on that just the other day, actually
