Liethell 01-17-2014 04:34 PM

The officer's eyes seem to follow him as he walks back. There was something strange about his eyes. Liethell, conversely, is entirely oblivious. He was whistling a tune when Vincent returned, but his concerned tone stops the tune right away. "What's the matter?" He gives him a strange look, but he doesn't question his suggestion. He's already digging for his wallet to pay for the meal.

Yokuutsu 01-17-2014 05:50 PM

With the officer watching him, it's almost instinct for Vincent to want to run away like this. He doesn't feel safe, and that usually leads to bad things happening usually. "Um...well....something about a warrant? But either way, I just...don't feel safe with them here....the cops." He's on edge, as he speaks softly.

Liethell 01-18-2014 09:13 PM

"Them?" He scrunches up his face. It's only when Vincent mentions the police officers does he piece it all together. He pulls out his wallet and leaves more than enough for the meal under the salt and pepper. He stands, takes his cane, and wraps an arm around Vincent's shoulders. At this particular moment, the gaggle of waiters and waitresses begins to break up as the manager returns, still talking to the officers just outside. "You're going to have to listen to me." There's a rough slam as the door closes. The officers are inside the building, and they're fast approaching the two. "You need to get into the sewer system. Find a manhole hidden from view and go from there. You're going to be without me for a while. That's okay, as long as you have this, I'll be able to find you again." He pats his chest, and seems to shake his hand as if to say goodbye. There's a weight in Vincent's hand now, a very small one. He nudges Vincent towards the door and waves with that cheerful smile on his face. It's as if he's sending an old friend off...

Yokuutsu 01-19-2014 02:01 AM

Vincent nods a bit, feeling anxious and all. He can't help it, he feels like something bad is about to go down and all. He leans into Liet a bit, feeling a bit better as long as he's there. Though that won't last too long obviously. "But....I don't want to leave you here...will you be alright?" It just doesn't feel right leaving Liet behind like this and all. He kind of whines as he's nudges. "Alright....bye." He hopes something horrible doesn't happen as he heads out.

Liethell 01-19-2014 07:11 PM

Liethell leaves Vincent with no answer about whether or not he'll be alright. An officer taps him on the shoulder and he turns to meet him, and that's the last glimpse he sees of the peculiar not-quite-demon, not-quite-man.

He's out in the sidewalk now. He sees no one he recognizes, even though a crowd is starting to form. Down either side of the road, he sees buildings, some with names and most without signs he can read from this distance. He's in an older section of the town, meaning there are likely to be a few alleys, and possibly one with a manhole he can slip through. He doesn't see the couple that drove them here at all.

Yokuutsu 01-20-2014 12:45 PM

Vincent Can't help but worry about Liet as he walks. Maybe he should have stayed. He, obviously, doesn't trust the cops...and they might hurt Liet. The idea kind of hurts him really. For now, he keeps moving, away from the crowd. At some point, he finds a manhole down an alleyway....that he doesn't feel like he'll get killed on, before he's able to get the cover off enough to slip down. There's one thing he didn't think about-what does he do now that he's down here?

Liethell 01-20-2014 07:09 PM

The manhole cover was holding back a horrific stench. Now that it's off, he can smell it full blast. Thankfully, the moment he climbs down, he starts getting used to the smell. There's a metal ladder that leads down to a concrete catwalk that extends to his left and right, and as far as he can tell, there's no discernible features either way. In front of him is a huge semicircle filled partway with...nastiness. He sees no light, hears nothing down here. Thankfully, there are no alligators in the sewers like some people seem to think, nd there are no cops chasing them either...

Yokuutsu 01-24-2014 12:07 AM

It may be a horrible stench that may just make Vincent gag, but he'd rather take on the stench instead of the creepy cops any day. He climbs down, not nowing what else to do, looking around a bit. "But....what am I supposed to do now?" He asks himself softly. Supposedly the place is underground, but where from here? He knows he could get lost so easily at this moment. But staying here isn't going to do anything for him either, so he picks a direction and starts heading that way.

Liethell 01-24-2014 03:19 PM

As he walks, he sees no one. At least, not at first. It seems to take an eternity before he sees light and hears a female voice,
"Easy down them steps darlin'." She sounds very much like the nice young woman in the car from before, and a very familiar hulking man is climbing down the ladder with the prescribed caution. Neither notice him..

Yokuutsu 01-24-2014 04:39 PM

(-went looking through posts to find name- XD)

Vincent is being a bit cautious, to say the least. He's not sure what to expect down there or anything. He pauses when he hears others before coming a bit closer. "Trissie?" He's ready to run though if need be."

Liethell 01-25-2014 01:02 PM

(I thought I was the only one that did that :,3)

Silence chases after his words, and he soon sees Trissie scramble down the ladder, "Vincent? What're yeh doin' down here already? Where's Lee-thell?" She lands on her feet and trots up to him, looking him over. He either never noticed it before, or it's only recently begun happening, but her eyes glow a faint yellow-orange in the darkness...

Yokuutsu 01-28-2014 08:15 PM

(Nah, I really couldn't remember the name)

Vincent takes a step or two back, a bit on edge since he's in a sewer, no idea where he's going or anything at all. "Um....I don't know where he is. We were eating and all....then there were these creepy guys....cops." He doesn't know what happened after that. "He told me to get in the sewers." He says nothing about the eyes at this point.

Liethell 01-29-2014 08:48 PM

"Creepy cops?" She turns to Harold, whose eyes are widened in the slightest hint of concern.
"What restaurant?" He grips the ladder and remains about a foot off the ground. Trissie pats his shoulder and starts to lead him closer to the ladder.
"Harold'll track down Leet, I'll take yeh back home, safe 'n' sound. I don't think it'll do getting you mixed up with the authorities so soon."

Yokuutsu 01-29-2014 09:54 PM

Vincent nods a bit. "Yeah, something was off about them." Though, to tell the truth, he has no clue what still. He tilts his head, padding after Trissie, telling Harold the restaurant. "I hope he's alright." Now he does feel bad for leaving Liet all alone like that, but he was also afraid for his own safety and all. He nods a bit. "They said there were warrants out on someone..." They didn't say who, but he does remember that much.

Liethell 01-31-2014 04:36 PM

With the information, Harold nods a thanks and climbs away, top speed. He replaces the manhole cover over the ladder, and off he goes. Trissie holds his shoulder and pats him, "Most likely, the warrants are for Leet. He ain' exactly doin' legal junk, practicin' without no license. I wouldn' worry too hard though. At least, not for Leet." She smiles and begins to walk him in the direction he came from. "He'll be jus' fine. I coul' tell you all kinds'a stories 'bout Leet and the po-po." She giggles a little.

Yokuutsu 01-31-2014 05:01 PM

Vincent can't help the noise he males when Harold leaves. He can't help but worry about what's going on and everything. He just hopes no one ends up hurt or anything of the like. "Yeah, but neither is he charging or anything from what I saw...and he isn't exactly saying he's liscensed either." People go to him at their own risk and all. He just pads off with Trissie, snorting a bit. "How much of a background do they have together?"

Liethell 01-31-2014 11:30 PM

"He's been messin' with them longer than I've been 'round." She grins and pats him, "He never told you 'bout the time he ran a car into a police vehicle." She grins, "He ain' blind, I ain' too sure what he uses to see, 'cept that it's better than normal see'in', but that day, if you had asked him, he'd swear to God'n'Satan alike that he was blinded by the sunlight off the car and none of the officers believed 'em. I'm told he stayed in jail for a time till it was determined he really was blind as a bat in daylight. Ain' too sure how he got outta that one.." She snickers, "He ain't a bright one. He's a light demon, but I'm tellin' ye, he ain't a bright one."

Yokuutsu 02-03-2014 03:09 AM

"Is there a reason why he did that?" Vincent can't help but ask. That couldn't have went well, hitting a police car and all. "Did he do it on purpose?" He can't really think of how we would've done it on accident, but still. "Either charm or magic." That's the only way Liet could have got out of it or anything. He can't help but giggle at the last bit.

Liethell 02-03-2014 11:04 PM

"No reason, not on purpose kiddo, He just can't drive worth beans. 'S why we drive the old coot around." She continues to giggle. "That, and he ain't legally allowed, but s'not like we abide by the upper-level laws, yahknowwhatImean? I'd love to think he could charm, but kiddo, he aint got charm. I've got charm, ahma wizard, and I can tell you he ain't got jack nor rabbit." She outright laughs, "I bet he has you thinkin' he some kinda god among men, right?"

Yokuutsu 02-04-2014 06:38 PM

"Then why was he driving? If he knew that and all..." Vincent can't help but say. "Though....it's good that he isn't driving now." Those creepers would have probably found them sooner otherwise. He nods a bit. "Though....some of them aren't the worst to follow." Like not driving if you have no ability to. He snorts a bit at her words. "Eh, I tend to be a bit skeptical when people talk...people tend to exaggerate whether they realize it or not." He shrugs a bit. "Though it does spice up a story."

Liethell 02-04-2014 08:19 PM

"Aint got a clue why he was drivin'. He knows he can't see well. I think he jus' likes to think he never lost his seein' in the firs' place. Now, here we are." She grins and pats his shoulder and leads him to a completely innocuous, algea covered wall. There's nothing out of the ordinary about it except graffiti proclaiming the artist's distaste for the police. She grins, her eyes flicker brighter, "Ya ready for real magic?"

Yokuutsu 02-05-2014 02:00 AM

Vincent shakes his head a bit. "For some reason....I'm not surprised. Not at all." He wouldn't be the only one to be like that either. Plenty of people want to pretend like that. He tilts his head a bit. "And where's here?" He can't help but ask. "Um....okay?" He doesn't know what to expect or anything anymore. Hell, he thought he was the only one or something.

Liethell 02-05-2014 08:48 AM

She laughs and tousles his hair, then lays her hands on the gross wall. At first, nothing seems to happen, but slowly, the wall begins to turn dark, as if a great shadow fell over it. There's a rumbling and the sound of stone against stone as the door slowly slides to the right and reveals an elegant staircase carved into the stone, matted with some form of wirey carpeting to keep entrants from slipping. "In ya go!"

Yokuutsu 02-06-2014 09:21 PM

Vincent smiles at her a bit, tilting his head a bit as he watches her do her thing. "How does that work?" He asks when the door opens, not sure how it does that at all, other than magic obviously. "And what's down there?" Other than something obviously. He assumes it's the city, but he really has no idea what it's like down or anything.

Liethell 02-07-2014 12:52 PM

"'S magic." She grins and pats him inside, "Just get walkin', the city's down there. I'll tell you the easy stuff on the way down." After she successfully shoved him into the stairway, she follows after and raps on the stone wall. There's a stone rumbling, and the door closes shut behind them

Yokuutsu 02-07-2014 02:27 PM

Vincent is a bit anxious about all this. Who wouldn't be? He literally knows nothing about what he's walking into or anything, but he felt like he couldn't stay where he was tthough. "Alright." He says softly as he starts walking, looking back at her for a bit. "The easy stuff?" He asks.

Liethell 02-07-2014 03:55 PM

"My thinkin' is that you cain't tell thick from thin in th'underworld." She grins and leads the way down the stairs. It's a very long staircase, but thankfully, it's lit up from above by regular old florescent lights.
"So I'll give yah the watered-down version. Basically, I jus' ask the rock to move, an' then he does. Tha's all there is to my magic, at least."

Yokuutsu 02-07-2014 11:07 PM

Vincent bows his head a bit....because what she said was absolutely true. "Well, it isn't like I grew up in it or anything." He says softly as he pads after Trissie. "Alright." But it didn't look that easy to him...he thinks there is a bit more to it and all. "What's it like down there?" He asks softly.

Liethell 02-08-2014 06:51 PM

"Stinky." She laughs, "But it's freein' in a way. 'S jus' like regular life up there, but ain' nobody gon' judge you for flyin' to work or havin' horns or glowin' eyes. I met Harold here." She sighs, it sounds like a gentle sigh. The sound of someone deeply in love. "Sure, s'a dirty place. Lots o'roguh people down there. But 's home for those who ain' got none."

As they walk, the wall ends and gives way to a metal guardrail, and the two can see that they are high above a massive, vast sphere carved out of the earth. It's large and humid here--stinky, just like Trissie promised, it smells of something old. Clouds hang near the top of the ceiling, as if this place is it's own ecosystem. Down below, there are buildings made of metal and there are many made out of rock, and there's a startling amount of trees and plants growing on the rock or on the rooftops of high rise buildings or in parks. Though the majority of the carved out rock looks like square buildings and some roads, there's a n area left completely and totally grassy and filled with trees. There are massive vents on the spherical walls and ceiling and there are even bigger holes that sometimes have lights coming from them and sometimes they do not. Some vents and holes have paths built out of rock leading to them, but many don't. As they walk, the other side of the staircase opens up and leads to a path, and down that path there are homes carved right out of the stone with grass and moss growing over them and even a tiny river. As they continue down, he notices that there are many of these paths all around the hollow sphere in the ground, there are occasionally ribbons of carved-out spaces where homes and school buildings and small shops and libraries and things sit. Their staircase seems to be leading to a main city road below. Trissie says nothing, but she turns to watch his reaction to the city...

Yokuutsu 02-11-2014 04:18 AM

Vincent can't help but snort a bit. "Well, I never expected a city in the sewers to smell like roses." He couldn't help but say it. "Judging and freaking out are two different things, remember that." Say he didn't see Trissie...and suddenly there are glowing eyes? He might freak out a bit. It would be scary. "You like it." He can tell, so it can't be too bad of a place or anything.

He can't help but look around, surprised at the clouds and things that aren't algae growing. Or things like algae. Also, he does like the ingenuity of building into the stone, instead of doing like many would and moving the stone to where they want to be. Though....in this case, it might be the same thing. He's doing his best to ignore the smell because he knows he'll get used to it if he stays down here long enough. "How....has this place not been discovered yet?" He can't help but ask. It's still connected to the sewer system...and aren't there buildings nearby? And with sanitation having to inspect and clean sewers...he doesn't know how something this big and advanced can still be hidden. It is amazing.

Liethell 02-11-2014 10:49 PM

"Complex system of magic. Somethin' about recognizing who does and who doesn't got the spark in em, you know? OF course, that ain't to say nobody's ever discovered it when they weren't meant to. Do you know how many santation workers we deal with? We got a man down here somewhere that deals with altering memories and all that hullabaloo. Heard we was plannin' on getting some experts from Russia to move us someplace secluded, maybe deeper underground, but s'not like it'll happen in my lifetime." She snorts and leads him on. There's people here too, as they pass by a row of homes, they see some kids--kids with horns, of course, but still kids. "wasn't the smartest idea carvin' out a cave under the sewers, but nobody thought it'd get this big." She shrugs.

Yokuutsu 02-13-2014 02:33 AM

Vincent pads after her. "Well, then how did they get in here and everything? Did the door malfunction or something?" He's just wondering because, that door malfunctioning, if it is, might make him worry about what else could malfunction down here and all. He frowns a bit at the altering memories bit-but part of that is from reading so many books that mention that too much of it will destroy a person's brain pretty much. "But how would anyone move all this? All the people?" He can't help but ask. Some people can be fairly stubborn once they lay down their roots. He watches the kids a bit, his head tilted. "Well, that's how some cities ended up in horrible spots, they're not moving yet either." He says, kind of snorting a bit.

(My internet has been down for like 30 hours. It just came back. I missed it so.)

Liethell 02-15-2014 06:13 PM

(Ugh, that must've sucked. What happened, bad weather?)
"You know," She scratches her chin, "I ain' too sure how they get in. I know the door ain' too sensitive, but sometimes it picks up on magical items, so maybe someone gone and sold a few magical items above ground and they make their way back? It ain' my field Vincent, you'll have to ask someone else." She walks on, then listens to his queries about moving with a big grin. "Well thas' just the trikc now, aint it. Ain' nobody gotta move outta their homes. The way I had it 'splained to me, we'd trade out a chunk a'land from somewhere else and jus' switch the two land chunks. This here hole would be filled in solid, and we'd have a hole somewhere else. Might puzzle a few geologists here 'n there, but s'not like it hadn' happened a'fore." She giggles.

Yokuutsu 02-15-2014 06:27 PM

(They say the fiber optic cable got cut in multiple places....they suck balls)

"Shouldn't there be a way that it can't be activated by items? That it has to be a living being opening it or something?" Vincent can't help but ask. It's a security flaw to say the least...and it could be pretty bad depending on who comes through with it. He just looks really confused as Trissie talks. "...how? How is that possible?" That has to take a lot of energy for that to be done and all. "Where's it been done before?" He's curious.

Liethell 02-17-2014 08:07 PM

(Ughh, I'm sorry to hear that :C)
"Hard not tah, Vincent. Yah feel this at all?" She holds up her hand and something like green, glowing smoke wafts from it, almost like she had just pulled her hand from a fire. Whether he feels magic being used or not depends largely on his sensitivity to it. She shakes the smoke off. "Magic's magic. Feels different depending on the kind, but magic's it's own feel, and that feel is what the door locks on, got it?" She grins and they keep walking. It's a very, very long way to the bottom. It'd be a true fright to fall off the stairs, but they have guardrails made of metal to keep them from toppling over. "S' been done before in small amounts. S'possible on a big scale. Theoretically."

Yokuutsu 02-18-2014 11:15 PM

(Well, it has been fixed apparently so it's all good)

Vincent makes a strange noise at the green stuff. He just doesn't like it in general for some reason. It makes the hairs on the back of his neck stand up and all. "There should be a way to differentiate somehow, whether they can make the door do that....well, that's a bit different." He says as he follows after her. "Theoretically doesn't always work well in practice." That can be a problem depending on what's going on.

Liethell 02-22-2014 05:26 PM

(I apologize for my slowness lately. I've had school, and I've had a lot of hard schoolwork to do. Gotta keep on the Dean's list, you know :P)

"Hard ta' tell. You seem caught up on that there door, migh' wanna make a career out of it." She laughs again, and they finally reach the bottom of the stairs. The ground here feels like the ground above--They're standing on a concrete slab, part of a sidewalk, and they're on a main road too. It goes down to their right for a long way, and there are lots of intersecting roads too. Most of the traffic is pedestrian though, and the few motor vehicles the two of them can hear are not on this main road. "I coul' go an' lead you round till Harold n' Leet come back if yah like, but if you have a fixin' to go somewhere, jus' lead the way. I'm yer babysitter for the meantime."

Yokuutsu 03-03-2014 01:29 AM

(I'm sorry it's taken me so long .-. Idk why but I've just been blah)

Vincent shrugs a bit. "Well, when it comes to security....it's better for it to be secure instead of having to fix what creeps through and all." Because what if someone gets down here, sees stuff and is able to get back up there to tell others? It wouldn't be good. It could happen someday. "I don't know of anywhere to go. I don't know anything about this place at all..." He shrugs a bit, not taking offense to the babysitter bit-it's the truth, sadly.

Liethell 03-03-2014 05:46 PM

(I know the feeling. Seems like everyone's that way these days. :C)
"It sure does, but you can't seem to leave the damned door alone!" She laughs. "You ain't got a hankering to e'splore? Well maybe we can show you someplace real neat." She grins--but it's not just any grin. This is the kind of grin that usually precedes some kind of mischief. She begins to lead him down the sidewalk, her hand wrapped around his wrist.

Yokuutsu 03-03-2014 08:53 PM

(I don't mean to do it D: )

Vincent bows his head. "I don't mean to focus on it..." He does it without thinking to tell the truth. "It's not that...I'm just not wanting to end up lost..." And he has no clue what's around to explore either. He tilts his head a bit when he sees that grin. "Where are we going?" He can't help but ask.
