I think the Rangers are scared for their useless lives. I have seen only one or two battle among the divine lines.

They have lost their will to fight; the powers of Lady Zephyrs armies are vast and unshaking, her armies as wide and deep as the oceans, and archers as numerous that their arrows will block out the sun. They fear her power, and so they cower from it.

Indeed they do, and I did not expect any more of them. They always were cowards, only putting up brave and "honorable" appearance at time of peace when there was no danger and their name could not be tainted by a loss.
