I was talking to a friend about us doing it too, but I'd have to find artists for it. Although if I did I want an adults-only site and that's ... a big hassle to have xD;; for things like forums and stuff you have to have verification I'm pretty sure...
or at least say it's rated ages 17+ (NC17)
And I wouldn't want the avatars to be pixeled but to have painted bases and clothing and i don't know if any system would support that

@Rem: That might prove difficult. Unifaction is the only thing I can think of that uses non-pixels. *nods*

As for the site I hope to make with my friend, it's likely not to happen. We don't have the resources.

Kofk also uses CG for avatars. I think it works just fine.

I joined gaia in 2003 and was there until I found solia but then Ernya was made and everyone I knew went there- so I went there naturally lol. From there~ bij telled me to join this one back in it's trisphe days~ and then it poofed! And thennn I checked out Ruffles rpg world and then quit avatar sites for a bit.

And then one day - I was sitting around and thought to myself, "whatever happened to Trisphe?" And here I am!!! <333

Ruffles is the only one I didn't see mentioned, and I was a silly person and read the whole thing o3o

Currently my favorite sites are Ernya, Solia, and Trisphee.
I'm on a lot of them though.

Ernya has been my kryptonite lately. Role playing and whatnot. lol
Been busy.

Solia Online, Crysandrea, and this site are my current favorites.

My trouble with Ernya is the rollover in the community.
Nobody I talked to two years ago is still around!
Everytime I get on there are a bunch of people I do not know and I feel very awkward.
Because they already seem to be friends and I feel like I'm getting in the way.
I can post something to add to a topic and be completely ignored multiple times.
For some reason, I've never felt that way here.
Even after a long break.
There are things that I like about Ernya though.
The color palette is beautiful!

I also am not known by the same thing to the majority of people on Solia.
Solia /does/ have faults. Believe me, I know it does.
The avatars though... I do love them.
The way I handle Solia is by strictly posting in threads created by my friends.
I am curious about what happened to you on Solia, but I won't make you explain it.
I know the community can be off putting. & things are often handled poorly.

I used to be a mod on Ernya. Same name, but I wasn't there for that long. I really didn't enjoy how the items there lacked a lot of contrast. That may just be me, but I really like my items to have contrast where I can actually see the nice folds within the items. A lot of my friends since the starting of ernya, still frequent the site actively. The only reason I would ever return there, is to merely talk to them. c:

I'm still working on Elidiun with the team. I'm just the co-admin. Helping my grandfather irl. He has alzheimers so I had to find someone to help run the site whilst I was doing my own thing. ( Paying his bills, working to support and feed him. )

I've been observing or just "guest" exploring a site called Midorea.
It's very interesting and I registered, but the activation email has not arrived. How long does it take for it to arrive (anyone who is in Midorea, can you answer this?) But yeah. I love the big avatars thing <3

atavarna and malthea are new sites but nit yet open..i have been waiting for it to open since april 2010

I just rediscovered Chloria. I really adore the avatars but it's still pretty quiet over there.

I'm always looking for new sites. Like most people, I can't wait to see Malthea open.

Last update from their social media was in mention of a podcast....and that was back 10 Aug. On the bright side though, their home page is apparently up.

I can't say I like other sites as much as I do this one.

Ernya has the plastic chibi style people like but it's more like a paper cutout doll to me.
Solia, they aren't that inclusive or remotely humble.
Gaia - It's changed a lot, the only pull is rushed lolita items that never center properly or green glitch. And I can only see so many lolita dresses. . .
Tinierme - a giant flash space you walk around all day, some people think its fun I guess.

I know other sites exist aside from those but the avatars for those are like the troll dolls without the hair.

LunaeSaga is one that I JUST joined. It seems .. alright, the people are really nice, but the site just opened like, two weeks ago, so.. its still really slow, and not without errors. They're going through their first event right now.

I've been on Gaia for nine years (seriously) and I still enjoy it to an extent, especially the sheer size of the community and the amount of items. And I still really like their avatars. Usually when I poke around other sites I hate the avatars; this is one of the only sites I've found that I think actually has really nice-looking ones. Solia does too but their admins were such jerks I couldn't stand it >.<

I never got into Solia. Or Roli.
The communities weren't for me.

When it comes to Gaia? I'm solely there for the art, and the spooky, Halloween items. Actually, thats the ONLY reason I'm there. I don't post very much, and I'm trying to get all the people who I was close to on there, to come over here, so I don't lose contact with them.

Ernya, I have an account, NEVER active. Same with Menew, and a few others. I joined Lunae, just to see how the community was. Not bad, the people are super nice. <3

I made a hangout over there. xD; Same name as the one I have on here.

And I used to be a very active member on Crys. But then, I... just grew out of that site.
