Cool phone you have there then.

I have an interview with Best Buy tomorrow afternoon - which is pretty exciting.

Also, I tried out the frozen banana smoothie maker that I got for Christmas a bit ago.

femme gauche 01-09-2012 10:51 PM

That sounds pretty sweet, then. Good luck with your interview! And a banana smoothie maker sounds awesome XD. Maybe if you work at Best Buy you can get discounts on some nice tech, eh? Yeah it was definitely a surprise for me to get a phone like this... My parents just ended up deciding to get the same one for all of us. Which can lead to some confusion... but there is plenty of room for customization and all that. Haha though I still think it would be sweet to have an iPhone, but there are advantages and disadvantages to everything.

Angel Spirit Girl 01-09-2012 11:11 PM

The frozen banana is supposed to be like ice cream.

Yup. There are some cool games I could go for a discount on.

If I had the same phone as everyone in my family, I would decorate it pretty quick.

femme gauche 01-09-2012 11:16 PM

Yeah, some of us got covers but the T-Mobile store only had them in one color! So far though none of us have exactly set them down long enough to allow for much confusion, heh.

Angel Spirit Girl 01-09-2012 11:19 PM

I see. I was talking about rhinestone stickers, though. XD

femme gauche 01-09-2012 11:24 PM

No, no. Never ever rhinestones for me, but I am thinking about knitting or crocheting a sleeve or holster for it to go on top of the skin. Because really the skin protects the phone from damage on impact and all that so I wouldn't want to remove that. Althoug I do have some Harry Potter stickers I would also like to use.

Angel Spirit Girl 01-10-2012 08:49 PM

That sounds like a cute knitting project. <3

femme gauche 01-10-2012 09:33 PM

Yeah, I think it would be helpful for me to have something like that.

Angel Spirit Girl 01-10-2012 09:45 PM

It sounds very useful.

Serena Yuy 02-27-2012 09:38 PM

Job hunting sucks. -.- Have been looking for over 2 months and no bites. To make it worse. I don't drive so I'm stuck.

femme gauche 02-27-2012 09:40 PM

I know exactly how that feels, haha. No drive, and no bites. Fortunately now I have a job, although right now, very limited hours... Except that I can't complain about that, because... right now I really value the time I have away from work. Not that I make very productive use of my time, but I am trying... And it is a lot easier to find alternatives and stuff when I am not tired and annoyed.

Serena Yuy 02-27-2012 09:48 PM

Yeah, I wish I could find something. It's getting really tight for me now. Especially since I now have to think of the money I have to spend getting ready for Grad school. I hope I get something for a little bit to save up for that so I'm not jobless this entire time.

femme gauche 02-29-2012 12:32 AM

Well I wish you all kinds of luck in your hunt.

Angel Spirit Girl 03-05-2012 06:34 PM

Yeah. I'm still job hunting. Still no bites. v.v

I need to do some on-line applications tonight.

Funkduder 03-05-2012 06:44 PM

The Ruby Room...for free rubies? *_*

Serena Yuy 03-05-2012 06:46 PM

I finally gave in and applied to a fast food place. :(

That I got an interview for ^^"

femme gauche 03-06-2012 12:14 AM

Funkduder... well... no, not really. But it can be, if that's whta you want ;).

Angel, aw, keep trying, you'll get something!

Serena, aw... I didn't want to work in fast food at all, but that's what I ended up getting hired for at The Henry Ford. Well I think it is probably better than if I were at McDonalds, but still...

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 12:18 AM

Yeah. I hope I do get a job of some sort... Even if it is for the fast food place. It's a stepping stone. ^^"

femme gauche 03-06-2012 12:30 AM

Yeah, something's better than nothing, as the saying goes...

I'm kind of excited; the other day I got my first wool roving (recycled/mill end) and I've been spinning with my drop spindle... I made a small skein of very overspun yarn that is mostly pretty thin... now working on one that is a good deal chunkier. It is a bit challenging but it is always fascinating to be one step nearer the origin of the things that I use/own.

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 12:34 AM

Yeah. ^^" I figure I have to start somewhere. Plus there's a bunch out where I'll be going to school in the Fall. If anything I could transfer out there when I'm at school. Unless I get a better job on campus.

ooo that sounds cool though I have no idea of anything with knitting. :)

femme gauche 03-06-2012 12:44 AM

Yes, that would always be helpful to have that as an option although one wonders how manyt hey would need given the abundance of students who need work near a campus haha.

Yeah, spinning is a separate although obviously related pursuit, but it's a lot more difficult for me to get a handle on, haha. Spinning wheels cost, at a minimum, $300. Fortunately drop spindles are cheaper or can be home made. I made a couple with cardboard, like one that I used awhile is made out of a pencil with a couple of cardboard discs on it... But those I used with plastic. There is no drafting required which is probably the most important part of making a consistent and predictable yarn. XD.

femme gauche 03-06-2012 12:44 AM

Argh double post.

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 12:53 AM

Well, considering I would hopefully already be an employee, I could have a chance. If not, then I know that I would have the option to get some form of employment on the campus somewhere in the food service there or elsewhere. Plus, I do have a friend who I could use as a reference to get a job at a sandwich place by my campus :P

Oh cool ^^

femme gauche 03-06-2012 12:55 AM

That's true. And anyway having at least a little bit of experience would give you just that bit of a leg up. Hopefully you get the job :).

Yeah it is pretty exciting for me o_o.

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 01:02 AM

Thanks. :D I find it funny if I do because my boyfriend works for Taco Bell and it's this big thing between us in Western NY of "which is better? Mighty Taco or Taco Bell?" and we would possibly be working for both. Which I really wouldnt be phased since there are things Taco Bell has that I like that the other doesn't. ^^

femme gauche 03-06-2012 01:39 AM

Argh I typed a post but then I got a "server busy" message and the messages don't stay in the text box when I hit the back button here Dx.

That's funny but I have never heard of Mighty Taco. I tend to prefer the places that have the more fresh type ingredients, or else Mexicantown in Detroit, which is really yummy, but Taco Bell is always good for if you don't have very much cash and you really want a snack or something. It's cheaper to get something small there than like, a bag of chips xP. And probably marginally more nutritious.

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 01:51 AM

What's funny is if I'm hungry after my interview, I'll just walk to the Taco Bell down the road from the hotel they're holding the interviews :P Or if my boyfriend is working till 1.45 or 2pm, he can grab me from somewhere near the interview and I'll get Taco Bell for lunch. :D
I've never had Mighty Taco before, but I need a job ^^"

femme gauche 03-06-2012 01:58 AM

Yeah, can't afford to be too picky as long as it is clean and stuff XD.

Serena Yuy 03-06-2012 02:01 AM

Indeed. Just as long as they don't screw me over.
What's funny is my mom's friend has an interview the same day as me, only he's going for a manager position. So, there's the possibility that we would be working together, only I'd be hourly and he'd be manager. Which is fine by me. I could tolerate him for that.

femme gauche 03-06-2012 02:03 AM

Aw, that would be hlpeful to know someone at least haha.

Red Calypso 03-17-2012 02:34 PM

The Ruby Room...this seems very familiar...

Angel Spirit Girl 03-21-2012 08:27 PM

Femme makes the Ruby Room on any forum she goes on.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:28 PM

Yeah, I remember her and the page from every site I'm one :D

Angel Spirit Girl 03-21-2012 08:48 PM

That is how I met her, and how I run into her on the sites I go on.

Serena Yuy 03-21-2012 08:49 PM

Same here. When I start at a new site, I always look for the Ruby Room ^^

Angel Spirit Girl 03-21-2012 09:40 PM

I've started to look around for it on sites.

Red Calypso 03-21-2012 09:47 PM

*nods* I seem to remember it but it's been so long since I was on other sites.

Angel Spirit Girl 03-24-2012 09:16 PM

I pop in on all my sites every day to peek at announcements.

Red Calypso 03-24-2012 09:50 PM

I forget the names now but I used to talk to the same people on all the sites.
