Swhy I loooovelove the Kistune. Suuuch beautiful shading. Sopretty.

Ok, Blaine, I hate to break it to you, but the fact that you dont like them does not make items "Ick". These items are not simple to make, and whether you like them or not, the fact that you post in a public Forum that they are "Ick" "Dont Look Well Shaded" and publically shoot down someone elses work on these items is "Knocking down on someone". There are constructive critisisms, and then there are public indignant remarks towards someone else, and those replies fall under the latter.

This site has artists who work their asses off to make these items and a little respect for them, ragardless of whether you would use them or not, would be appreciated by them. What you said has personally iritated me, so I can only imagine what the artists would feel about them, and why no one else, that I have seen, have called you out on this is beyond me.

No offence, but have you even taken the time to consider the amount of time that went into making these items? Concidering the concepts, the work to make them, and the man time needed to put these pieces up In a only 7 days (8 counting today) and the ones that havent even been finished yet. Already, they have completed 17 items with 69 individual pieces already, not including the many different variations in almost every one, and they still arent finished.

I'm sorry if this may be a lil bit offencive or what not, but if you didn't mean to "Knock anyone" then you should have left it alone or left it at "Well, the Kitsune is my favorite".

Theres is an unwritten rule about civility in common culture, and in such times, it is best to leave critisization out of a comment if your intent is to be "nice".

We didn't do pocky because of how much its used in anime and we wanted to avoid the. JAPAN IS ALL ABOUT ANIME stereotype.

Alexander Linden 03-18-2011 04:14 PM

You mean it's not? xDD

Fen! Put that we are siblings in your siggy, please? <3333

Fenris 03-18-2011 04:17 PM

<3333 Alex, big brother <3

johnny 03-18-2011 04:19 PM

I'm so glad we avoided the anime-centric stuff.

I love Japanese culture, but I don't like anime. xD

The mythological and symbolic items are super cool.

Espy 03-18-2011 04:29 PM

Did you guys do Ramune because I shoved a bottle of it through the screen to save the ailing....er...who was it now.

Speaking of, I had a bowl of chirashi yesterday. Holy crap. It had uni. And roe. And albacore. And yellowtail. And lots of other sashimis. It was welllllll worth the $8.

That's a good point, I didn't think about that. Now that I'm thinking about it, you guys didn't do a lot of anime-ish items. And that's probably a good thing =O

Advent 03-18-2011 04:45 PM

I love the dragon on the shade <3

Yuki 03-18-2011 04:45 PM

Well all sort of Japanese stuff appears in anime obviously so I personally don't think it matters. The items we got are good either way. Anime related or not.

This one owo

Coda 03-18-2011 04:50 PM

The way we see it, if you like anime, you'll probably like traditional Japanese stuff, but if you don't like anime, that doesn't mean you can't like traditional Japanese stuff anyway.

Yuki 03-18-2011 04:52 PM

Exactly. So all items are pretty much perfect.

I never really thought pocky was an "anime" thing (I actually don't recall a time where I've even seen pocky in an anime and I've watched a LOT of anime series). I always assumed pocky was just a popular treat in Japan.

Yuki 03-18-2011 05:02 PM

I have to admit I haven't seen them in awfully a lot of anime either. Watches LOTS as well. I can name one, Gravitation. And that's it.

Fenris 03-18-2011 05:03 PM

I think its more people relate it to anime a lot, which was my reasoning. i was going for mainly traditional japan ^^

Sora 03-18-2011 05:04 PM

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...ts/2j1qtxs.png

I can't remember all the scenes from Gravitation, it was several years ago that I watched it. @_@

The only series I would guess that would mention pocky in it would be Axis Powers: Hetalia because of the Japan character. Pretty much the series is filled with stereotypes left and right about each of the countries, so I could see them using pocky for Japan at some point (as far as I know though, it's never happened).

@Fenris:
That's. . . kind of weird, lol. I don't get how they'd think a candy relates back to anime. XD;

Coda 03-18-2011 05:08 PM

Because they're sold in the same places in the US. You get the image of a shop full of DVDs, figurines, and Pocky.

Yuki 03-18-2011 05:10 PM

It has been over 10 years since I was in the US so I have no idea...

Sora 03-18-2011 05:14 PM

http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/b...ts/2j1qtxs.png

If you're referring to "anime shops", I wouldn't know. We don't have any anime shops what so ever around here. The best we've got are some manga volume that Barns and Noble may or may not sell.

The next closest to me would be another book store that's an hour away and has a bigger selection in manga and some merchandise. But that's it. I've always heard friends who live out in the west of America mention about their anime channels or their awesome anime shops and I'd just be all, "fffff, lucky. orz;;;"
