"You'll just have to work and figure it out~" She looked over, sensing the waiter was approaching with their food. Oh goodie~" She smiled and thanked him as he set it down. She stared at it with bright eyes. She loved waffles. She took her fork with her free hand, flipping the waffles a bit and inspecting them, "Well, at least, this time they're clean. Once I saw a few specks of..well..something you don't want on your food..."

William raised his eyebrows high at her comment, absolutely sure he didn't want to know what had been on her food before. "Ignorance is bliss, or so they say." He then took a bite of his omelet, savoring the taste. Though admittedly, he was curious but had deiced it was against his better judgement to ask.

Artemis chuckled, "And they're right...it's always best to not know. I've been proven that time and time again." She poured a bit of syrup on her waffles and took a few bites, purring slightly.

William laughed at took a few more bites of his omelet. "It is true. I was ignorant of everything but normal people until I was seven years old. It was.... peaceful. But of course seven is the age when slayers start training, so my mother got me from my dad, whom I'd been living with, and promptly started my education." He could just barely remember spending time with his father. He remembered playing sports, and a few birthday parties, but everything else was too much of a blur to really count as memories.

Artemis frowned slightly, "I don't remember my parents at all...their faces, their voices...the time we spent together, but it doesn't bother me really." She twirled her fork over her waffle with a slight frown.

"It doesn't... bother me, necessarily. It's more of an annoyance. Towards my mother, that is. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I'd been raised by my dad. If I would be diffrent person." He paused and took a bite of his food. "I think that me and you still would have met, he lives in this city."

She smiled slightly, "One can only imagine. I'm sure we would have, after all, there aren't many schools here... we all get crammed into one." She finished off her last waffle, almost purring, "Delicious~"

Finishing off his food William grinned. "I would have pursued you right away then. With no code to stop me, I would have made you mine much sooner." He laughed and winked at her.

She leaned forward on her elbows, a sly grin on her face, "Oh really? You think you could've snagged me up that fast huh?" She laughed slightly, "I would love to have seen how that would work out."

William raised his eyebrows dramatically. "I would have used all my charm. You wouldn't have been able to resist. I'm quite a catch." He laughed. "You think you could have resisted all this time if I had been actually trying to get you to fall for me?"

She laughed a bit, "I bet'cha I could resist you longer than you could've resisted me" She winked, biting her ower lip a bit.

William laughed. "Oh, I doubt that. Not only do I have a fantastic personality, but I'm incredibly handsome and very clever. I would have had your heart in my hand in a matter of days." |

Artemis chuckled, "You do have a rather amazing personality.." She leaned forward some more, placing a light kiss on his cheek before sitting back, "I have to admit, I would have a rather hard time resisting that lovely charm of yours." |
William laughed and returned her kiss with one of his own. "I'm irresistible." He said simply. He then summoned the waiter and paid the check. "Shall we go?" He asked.

She nodded and stood, "Completely irresistible." Before he could stand, she grabbed his hands and pulled him up herself with a smile.

William laughed and took her hand. "Though I'm not the only one whose hard to resist." He grinned and brushed back a lock of her hair before leading her in the way of the car.

Artemis followed him to the car, helping herself to unlocking the door telepathically and getting in, "Of but of course. We cannot forget the ever charming Artemis."

He grinned and got into the driver's side. "Of course. She's a very beautiful girl. Don't know what I'd do without her." He through her a playful side glance and pulled out onto the rode.

Artemis chuckled, casually flipping some hair behind her shoulder as he drove, "You would be lost and would have never gotten the chance to see that wonderful movie~" She smiled, leaning over to give him a quick kiss on the cheek as they came to a stop light, "Now, how else shall we spend our day?"

William grinned. "It was a very good movie." He agreed. 'We..." He paused, trying to think of something, but the only thing he could think of was their unpleasant circumstances and how he could fix them. "Should probably figure out what we're going to do at us. We can't exactly continue like this."

Artemis frowned, she was hoping to stay away form that subject for awhile longer. "I honestly don't know what to do..." The only option she could think of was to knock him unconscious with a touch of telekinesis and disappear from his life. She was not aiming to do that any time soon. She sat back in the chair, a look of deep thought on her face.

William sighed slightly. "Neither do I, honestly." He ran a hand through his hair. "Obviously, there is the option that we disappointed from each other's lives but... that sounds less appealing by the second. But things can't continue as they are. Something will go wrong. One of us will slip up, and either vampires, slayers, or both will be wanting our heads."

"I knnoowww..." she had a bit of a whine to her tone at first, "but..it's not like there's anything we can do either. Neither side is going to be willing to listen to reason or any such thing."

William smiled slightly. Reason with slayers? No one had ever tried that and lived. He sighed loudly. "If I wasn't a slayer the vampires would have no problem with us... at least if the didn't know our relationship meant anything to you, right?" He asked.

"Even if they had found out the truth, if you weren't a slayer hypothetically, they wouldn't do anything. They might not be happy with it, but they won't act against you." She shrugged, "But seeing as that isn't the situation.."

William glanced at Artemis from the corner of his eye then looked back at the rode. She was right, that certainly wasn't the situation... but it could be. He gazed at the rode for a long moment before he spoke. "There... is a way to make that happen, actually." He paused there, not eager to go on. There was definitely to make him 'normal' but he wasn't fond of the idea. Not at all.

Artemis could sense his apprehension, and in turn it made her a bit nervous herself. "I know you don't like the idea, and I probably won't, but I suppose you should tell anyway..."

"Slayer's have the option to... quit. Though unfortunately it's not as simple as quitting a normal job. Not to mention my mom'd through a raging hissy fit, but that's besides the point." He sighed. "When a slayer quits he or she is stripped of every memory they have that relates to vampires and slayers in anyway. Basically, I'd forget what you are, and what I am. I'd remember our friendship." He paused and reached over to take her hand. "I'd remember when we became more than friends, though since it all happened after I found out about you it would be a little fuzzy." He gave her hand a squeeze. "I just hate the thought of knowing everything I know now, and then being ignorant."

Artemis frowned, "I don't think I'd like to be looking after your sorry ass every second to make sure we're not being ambushed." She sighed, running her hand through her hair, "But...I don't see what else we could do, but I don't want to make you do that just so you could be with me for what..who know show many years...all the while I just watch you get older and older..."

"All the while you stay young and beautiful?" He chuckled slightly. "Yeah, the thought crossed my mind before. But wasn't that what we'd do anyway? Even if I stayed a slayer, which is pretty impossible anymore. How could I kill a vampire for just being a vampire when I see you're face every time I blink?"

Artemis shook her head a bit with a slightly irritated sigh, "Not that I regret meeting you, but sometimes, I wish I hadn't. You know? No matter what we do, you'll just continue on the natural way of life and I'll just be sitting here..watching you die...yet another thing I need to make this depressing cloud over my life darker.." She closed her eyes for a moment before looking over to him, "Either way..no matter what we do..I lose."

William felt an overwhelming sense of relief that they had reached his apartments. He quickly pulled into a parking space and then pulled Artemis into a tight hug. "I..." He cleared his throat. "I am your's, Artemis. Body and soul. And wherever I am after I die, if I exist at all, I'll be your's there too. If there was a way that I could stay with you..." He trailed off, tightening the hug.

"And at that point, I will still be alive for God knows how many hundreds of years, sulking around doing who knows what." She kept her arms at her sides resting her chin on his shoulder lightly. "It's a shame there isn't..." Not that he could see it, but her eyes looked off to the left. She would not discuss that matter either.

William smiled and pulled back, resting his forehead on her's. "You could always try boweling. Hear it's very distracting, should make time fly." He said, trying to make her feel better. "A way for me to live forever? Only vampire's live forever as far as I know."

She rolled her eyes, "I don't like bowling..or sports for that matter. It's so dirty and sweaty. I will pass." She closed her eyes again, "Which sometimes, I wish it wasn't true.."

With the lightest of pressures he kissed her lips, lingering there for a moment before stroking her cheek. "What about knitting?" He murmured with a small smile.

She narrowed her eyes, a bit playfully, "You calling me old? Hm?" She grinned a bit, "I'll have you know, I'm only 572 years old..."

William laughed. "Ah, yes, my bad, you're practically a baby! Now I feel like a pedophile. I'm far to old for you." He said in a gentle sarcastic tone.

She smiled, kissing his cheek, "You should feel absolutely terrible for doing something to taboo! I ought to report you to the authorities."
|
William nodded. "It's true. I am a terribly person. I deserve to be in jail for the rest of my life." He leaned down and kissed her a little deeper than before. "But that was worth it."
