Kali sighed, rubbed her temples, "I'm n-" And of course, he was gone. She picked Solomon from her shoulders, setting him down, "Care to give me a tour?" She followed along behind the cat, looking around at the vastness of his property. It was rather impressive and serene. Soon they came upon a bench and Solomon hurriedly jumped on it, "Is this what you've been doing? Being fat and lazy?" She laughed, sitting down next to him, scratching his chin as she watched the various pest animals skitter the property.

Jasmine pondered this for a moment. "That sound like it would be difficult. I can't imagine having to always move like that." She wondered how he managed to do it. To leave his friends behind just like that. It was daunting to think about.
|
"That is why he rarely makes friends. Usually when hes here he just sits in his room and looks at Isabelle's picture." Rand said as he cut some onion.
Zac appeared in his room on his bed and opened up the night stand drawer. He pulled out a picture frame with a old picture in it. He sighed as he looked at the picture. "Why?" Zac asked as he closed his eyes when tears fell from them. |
Jasmine leaned against the counter, remembering the story Zac had told them about Isabelle. "He must have loved her a lot. He's lived so long... carrying that burden on his heart all that time. I don't think I could do it. I've never fallen in love, at least not one so deep, but I know I'm not one who could easily accept something like this." She smiled a little then. "I'd probably fight for them till I died, whether they wanted me too or not. I'm stubborn like that."
|
Randy sighed and set down the knife, "You have no idea how much he loved her. I wanna show you something, but it might be a little painful." He said turning around.
"No daddy, Zac would get mad." The twins said in a whisper. "I know, but they need to know." Randy said looking at Jasmine. "Don't worry I know what I'm doing." He said as he closed his eyes. He opened them and they were pitch black, he started doing an incantation. He was channeling Jasmine's and Kali's mind, he was showing them what happened fifty years ago. A young man was running down a long hall but was stopped when he reached a dead end. "No that can't be her." The young man said almost breaking down. "I told you that you could never run from me vampire. I am your death, I am the vampire slayer." A red headed woman walked out from the shadows. "That voice, no please no." The man said turning around. "Isabelle, how could you have taken over for your father?" The man said, as they saw that it was Zac. "You left me Zachary, you left me alone with my father who broke me. You never loved me at all did you?" Isabelle asked pulling out a wooden stake. "I do and did love you Isabelle. If I wouldn't of left your father would have killed me." Zac said stepping forward a little bit. "You would of taken me with you, but no it was all about you. You selfish devil." She said as she walked close to Zac. "I have been drinking animal blood since I left you that day. My heart has been aching for you." Zac said putting his hand on his heart. "Your heart is a dried up piece of flesh. It doesn't beat, it doesn't live, just like you." Isabelle said narrowing her eyes. "It may not beat, but I do love you. You were the rose in my darkest days. How could you forget that?" Zac asked stepping forward even more. "You forgot about me!" Isabelle said running at Zac and putting the stake to his heart. "I didn't." Zac said stopping the stake from piercing his chest. "I always told you the truth." He said placing his free hand on her hands. He quickly sent her emotions haywire. Isabelle dropped the stake as she felt Zac's emotion's go into her. He did love her, how could she be so blind? "I have loved you Isabelle, you see that now. But I can't be with you, you just tried to kill me." He said pushing her down to his legs so he could sit up. "Zac...I'm so sorry. I still love you. I can't live without you for another moment." Isabelle said as she started to cry. "I can't be with someone who wants to kill me." Zac said looking away from Isabelle. "I..." She said trailing off. She grabbed Zac's face and brought it so he was looking at her. She quickly laid a passionate kiss on his lips. Suddenly a bullet went flying through Isabelle's heart and into Zac. Isabelle went limp, "Isabelle?" He asked looking to the doorway. "Darren, you son of a bitch! How could you kill your daughter?" Zac said as he quickly had Darren by the throat. His eyes turned blood red. "She isn't my daughter, she fell in love with you. A disgusting demon." Darren said in between chokes. "I loved her, and you loved her. I... I can't believe that you are such a jackass. I haven't killed anyone since you made me leave her. I think I can make an exception for you. Now ain't I so kind?" Zac said with an evil smile. He quickly put his hand through Darren's chest, and quickly removed his heart. "Now you are dead." Zac said throwing the life less body across the room. He quickly ran to Isabelle's side, "I'm..." He started to say but the flashback ended. Zac grabbed Randy's throat and slammed him into the island. His eyes were red but tears were falling from them. "I told you to never show anyone that! How dare you betray me Randy? I saved your life, and I knew you were a warlock." He said looking Randy in the eyes. "I will spare your life, but if you ever show anyone that again. I will not hesitate to kill you." Zac said letting go of Randy, he quickly disappeared and was in his bed again. {54.02 Au} |
Kali bolted upright as the images flashed through her mind. It was heartbreaking, yes, but now she was peeved. She looked to Solomon who was passed out, "Wait here." She stood, storming inside the house and to the kitchen pointing her finger to Zac, but paused as he was yelling at Randy. She then assumed it was him, and so her finger went to him, "You two are rather irritating. I never gave you permission to invade my mind like that. Next time," she pulled a knife from the sheath under her skirt, throwing it at him. The blade lodged itself in the wall on the other side of the room, barely missing Randy's neck, "I won't miss." She turned in a huff then went back outside.
|
What she had seen was... heart-wrenching, to say the least, but as sad as it was when Zac appeared, cutting off the vision, she was angry with him. Randy had indeed betrayed a trust between the two, but threaten death seemed more than a tad extreme. Admittedly, she did not know, nor would ever came close to knowing, how such strong emotions would make her act in a similar situation. So with that her anger was short lived and she had nearly reached out to try and comfort him when Kali's knife took her off guard. She froze for a split second, but before she could try to comfort him again, he was gone, and Kali was storming away.
She looked at Randy for a quick moment before striding over and taking the knife from the wall and placing it on the counter gently. "Thank you, for showing me that, and sorry for what just happened." She paused and looked away, but gave him no time to reply before saying, "I need to talk to him." And with that she turned and began her search for Zac's room. |
"I wouldn't do that." Randy said a little horse.
"We told you daddy." The twins said. Zac got up from his bed and went to his mirror. "Why did I show him that?" He asked himself. He quickly went back to his bed and sat down. Zac stared at the picture. |
Kali went back to the bench, surprised to see Solomon just sitting there, waiting for her. He usually never listened. She smiled a bit, sitting next to him and scratching his head behind his ears, "When they say 'ignorance is bliss' they truly mean it Solo. I should've just stayed home and gone to take my test in the morning." The cat purred, rubbing his face against her arm.

((I apologize for my long absence. My charging cord for my laptop was acting up and wouldn't charge my computer and I wasn't able to get on anywhere else))
Jasmine had looked into quite a few rooms in the vast house before finding Zac's bedroom. She opened the door slowly, as she had all the others, and was surprised to see him lying on his bed. "Zac..." She was uncertain of what to say, but she knew she had to say something. Quickly she entered to room and shut the door behind her, leaning against it for support. "I... can't pretend to know what you're feeling. I've never loved someone outside of my family as intensely as you have but... I don't think hiding your feelings and past will help anything." She nearly winced at her last words. Surely she could say nothing about locking away feelings. After all, wasn't she hiding pains of her own, even as she spoke of letting such things go? |
Zac sighed, "I have a long past Jasmine." He said holding the picture to his chest. "Most of my past isn't good." He said looking at Jasmine. "Randy was out of line. I told him not to show anyone that. And his wife would of done worse to him, she probably would of put a curse or something on him." He said pointing to the floor. "His wife was a witch." Zac said with a sigh.
|
[[I unno what to post so you two go for awhile]]
|
Jasmine laughed slightly, though she knew this was no time for amusement. "I assume you mean that literally, and not as comment on her personality." She sighed then, her smiled leaving her face and came to sit on the edge of his bed. "I agree, it was wrong of him to break your promise but... sometimes friends do what they think is best for each other, regardless of promises. If they think it will help in the long run... then sometimes they are willing to withstand the consequences and simply do what they think is best. Right or wrong."
|
"Ya, I mean literally. But sometimes she was a witch, personality wise." Zac said with a small smile. "But she was a great friend. It's too bad witches can only live to 100 years." He said with a sigh. "I know, it's just that I don't want everyone to know my past." He said looking away from Jasmin. "There is somethings, that would make your blood curdle." Zac said.
|
Jasmine nodded. "I can't say I don't believe that. You've probably seen and experienced things that I couldn't even begin to come to terms with. I know that but... it's worse when your the only one who knows them. Sharing the pain with someone lessens the potency of it, don't you think?" She looked over at him for a long moment, wondering about his pain, about his life and all his experience. With such an old age she believed they must be very numerous.
|
"I shared all of my past with Rox. And she in turn told everything to Randy, and he has told the twins." Zac said with a sigh. "There was this one time, when I was just turned. I went to Tobercurry, Ireland. I by myself wiped that city off of the map." He said with an evil smile. "Women, children, everyone." He said still smiling. He looked at Jasmine and his smile went away, "Well Tobercurry is back now." Zac said trying to shake off his giddiness.
|
Jasmine sighed, a long tried sounding sigh. She gazed up at the ceiling for a endless moment, her eyes looking at what wasn't there. Pain. Love. Hope. Anger. Lust. All these things were intangible, yet they changed the lives of those they touched in immeasurable ways.
"What about... at trade. I don't know if it would help but perhaps... a memory for a memory. I saw a painful memory of yours so perhaps... I could give you one of mine." She wasn't actually too keen on this idea. Her secrets were her own and never meant to be shared. They were supposed to be forgotten. But she felt it might help him. |
Zac sighed, "No you don't have to." He said pulling her chin down. "Life is full of heartbreaking moments." He said with a small smile. He looked into her eyes, "Don't worry about my heartache, it will either pass or I will have it wiped from my memory." He said letting go of Jasmin's chin. "If there is a god he has his reasons for making peoples lives hell." He said with a sigh. "Now, enough of this sadness. You should probably go and eat." Zac said placing the picture into the nightstand.
|
Jasmine let out a breath she hadn't realized she had been holding. It was relief to be able to stuff her memory away. If she were a braver, and stronger person she would press the issue and insist he know, but she was not a braver and stronger person. She smiled slightly and stood, stretching a little. "Yes, yes, food. I'd nearly forgotten." She paused then, before saying, "Though... if you ever need to talk you know where I am."
|
Zac nodded with a smile, "Thanks." He said standing up. "Now let me help you find the kitchen. I'm surprised you found my room." He said with a chuckle. "And you are one of the few people that has been in my room." He said putting his arm around her neck. "Maybe I will take you and Kali to meet my uncle." Zac said with another chuckle as he led Jasmine out of the room.
|
Kali sat forward after..God knows how much time had passed. She looked around, not seeing Solomon, and frowned. "Where'd that stupid cat run off to this time?" She stood up, smoothed her skirt, then walked around the property, being careful to keep at least the high point of the house in view. "Solo you damn idiot, get over here!" She put her fingers to her lips and let her whistle peel through the silence.
|
Jasmine laughed and blushed, looking away sheepishly. "I can't really say I had a plan or anything to find it. I just kind of looked in every door I came across until I got lucky." For all the things she lacked determination is not one of them. "I got lucky rather quickly, thankfully. Else I would have been still wondering this maze of a house." She smiled and looked up at him, slightly surprised by the feeling of his arm around her.
She grinned when he mentioned that she was one of the few to ever go into his room. It made her feel slightly special, if only a little bit. "Oh? Then you're not some hotshot who has girls flocking to his bed? Surprising." She teased good-naturedly. She walked with him, letting him take the lead, admitting to herself she would never find her a way back to the kitchen on her on. "Your Uncle?" She asked. |
"It may be a maze, but it is nice." Zac chuckled. "No I don't like the idea of one night stands and such. I can force people.... But that doesn't seem right taking their freedom away." He sighed. He heard the doorbell and sighed, "Now who could that be?"
"Zac?!" The twins backed away from the door nervously. "Come now girls, I'm not that bad." Adam smiled as he walked into the house. "Son of a..." Zac growled. "Jasmine, go into a room and stay there until I get you." With that he vanished. "What do you want Adam?" He reappeared. "Can't I just say hi to my favorite cousin?" Adam chuckled. "No you can't..." Zac crossed his arms. |
Jasmine's eyes widened for a split second in surprise. She remembered this vampire, Adam, though she had only seen him once. She knew very little about him besides that he was Zac's cousin.
She bit her lip slightly at Zac's command. Surely it was the intelligent to do as he said, but she couldn't help but be curious. With a reluctant look she turned to find a room to stay in, but not before casting a look at Adam. She stared at his face for a long moment, not sure what'd she find there, or even what she was looking for. Her own face held just a slight bit of irritation and fear, though both were nearly lost in the curiosity in her expression. What exactly made these two hate each other so? With that she found the nearest room she could and shut the door behind her. It was for the best, she knew, but curiosity told her to go back and see what happened. She reminded herself that curiosity killed the cat. |
Adam's yellow eyes stared at Zac, "Aw, you don't like seeing me. You are so mean." He ran his index finger from his eye to his chin in a fake tear.
Zac shook his head, "Stop acting like a five year old. I know I'm going to regret asking this, but what do you want Adam?" he ran his hand through his hair. "I want your blood." Adam's eyes turned red as he lunged at Zac. Zac dodged Adam and grabbed Adam's jacket and had him slam into the stair rail. "Come on Adam, you really want to do this?" He put his hands on his hips. Adam snarled as he landed on the stairs. "You know I want to." He looked at Zac as he sent a blast of TK at him. |
Jasmine heard a loud bang and knew it couldn't be good. Of course, what had she expected, them to talk about whatever it was that made them fight over a nice cup if tea? This was the outcome that she had known would happen, but that didn't make her happy about it.
Carefully, and as quietly as she could she opened the door a small crack in order see what was happening. She bit her lip. It looked worse than it sounded, and she knew it was time to recoil behind the safe door, but she just kept watching, praying neither would notice her. |
Zac crossed his arms in front of his face blocking the TK blast. "Your gonna need to do better then that." He pulled a knife from his back and swiftly threw it at Adam.
Adam quickly manipulated the moisture in the air and froze it stopping the knife. "And so are you cousin." He smirked evilly. Zac sighed and snapped his fingers sending a flame ball at the ice melting it. "You think you are the only one that can control the elements." He crossed his arms, "I got them from one of the vampires that killed grandmother." "Oh clap, clap, clap." Adam smiled. "I like the tricks you have up your sleeve." He stood up. "Let's see how you do with this." He sent a fire wave at Zac. Zac acted quickly and countered with a water stream, he used his free hand to remove the steam that was coming. "If you ruin any of my things I will hurt you." He made the stream stronger. |
Jasmine watched in fascination. What they were doing, manipulating elements, seemed so far from possible she felt like she was watching a movie. Though after all she'd seen since she met Zac, she couldn't doubt that it was reality.
A part of her, a small part that she was sure wasn't entirely sane, couldn't help but smile at their banter. Their threats were far from empty and the danger very real, yet they seemed almost like siblings fighting over you got better Christmas presents. Of course, there was nothing friendly about this encounter, so she shook the analogy from her mind and concentrated on the fight again. Oddly it wasn't Zac she was watching the most, but Adam. He was the mystery here, the lose canon. While she might not know exactly how Zac reacted to things she had a better grasp on it than she did his cousin. Now she understood the saying 'Curiosity killed the cat,' because she really wanted to ask Adam about himself, and that would be a very dangerous move. She eased slightly out of the room in order to get a better look. She glanced at the stairs, thinking what a great vantage point they would be, but knowing better than to try and get to them. She turned her gaze back to Adam. He seemed very... 'high and mighty' to her, and she guessed that he would think of her as nothing more than a mere animal. That made her blood boil a little, she wasn't angered by many things, but being looking down upon was one of them. |
Kali turned to face the manor as she heard noises, "The hell? Dammit Solo I don't have time to hunt down your ass!" She hurried off towards the manor, surprised to see her cat come running out from behind her and charging ahead to the building. "You could at least wait for me!"
She growled, jumping over the bench she was on earlier as she opened the door that Solomon was waiting by, "It's Adam again, I can recognize that obnoxious voice anywhere." Solomon stalked off, finding a vantage point before jumping down and pouncing on Adam with 25 pounds of pure muscle. |
Adam landed on the floor with a thud, he growled. "So this is your backup? What a stupid move." With that he set a blast of TK at the cat on his chest. Making the cat fly backwards.
Zac acted quickly and caught Solomon in mid air. He gently set Solomon down and looked back at Adam. "You honestly would attack an animal. You are so..." He trailed off as he got set on fire. He swiftly manipulated the fire to stop. His burn instantly healed up and he strapped Adam down with TK. When Zac was distracted Adam sent a fire ball at Zac. He snarled when he found himself strapped to the stairs. "Not fair cousin!" He tried to break it but couldn't. Zac jumped and landed on Adams chest shattering his breastbone. He smiled evilly, "Is my poor cousin this easily defeated?" He leaned down so he was next to Adam's ear. "Now, how much of your blood should I drink? All of it to instantly kill you..." He trailed off in a whisper. He hissed as his fangs grew and his eyes turned red. He bit down hard on Adam's neck, the taste of Adam's warm blood sent him over the edge. He clamped down harder on Adam's neck. Adam winced as his breastbone shattered. "Not this easily..." He trailed off as Zac mentioned drinking his blood. He went to say something but he screamed out as Zac's fangs pierced his neck. He gasped for air as he felt his blood leave his heart. "Zac.... Please..." His voice was weak, as he felt Zac's hold strengthen around him. |
Jasmine's eyes widened as she saw Zac drinking Adam's blood and mentioning killing him. Her mouth went dry and her body froze. Adam was clearly evil. His death would be a good thing, wouldn't it? Logic agreed to let him die but something in her screamed not to let it happened. It was Adam's scream that made her act. Without telling herself to do so she had run through the door to where Zac had Adam pinned down.
She was a normal human and knew there was nothing she could do against a vampire, but she tried anyway. She wrapped her arms around Zac's torso and pulled with all her might. Her eyes looking straight into Adam's as she did so. "Zac! Zac get off of him! You'll end up killing him! He's you're family for crying out loud!" She cried, calling Zac's name a few more times. |
Kali slid into the hallway, knife drawn, watching, "Dammit Solomon. Because of you, I'm late. Stupid cat." She sighed, tossing the knife in the air and catching it by the hilt a few times. "Well now..." she watched a moment as Jasmine made her move. With a sigh, she grabbed Jasmine's wrists, clenching them tightly as she pulled her hands away from Zac.
|
Zac removed his mouth from Adam's neck and looked at Jasmine, blood was dripping from his mouth. "I wasn't going to kill him." He licked his lips. "I just needed him weak enough to rewrite his brain." He cracked his neck as his body started to fully absorb Adam's blood. He quickly bit his wrist and put it to Adam's open mouth. "Now drink up cousin. I had to almost suck you dry." He chuckled. He looked at Adam, "And thank you. I missed the taste of vampire blood. And I must say yours was delicious." He grinned evilly.
"Layla, Lindsey. Get me five, no, make it six quarts of pigs blood, now!" His eyes flashed red as he looked at the twins. He removed his wrist from Adam's mouth, "There your breastbone should heal now." He wiped his mouth with his sleeve as he stood up. He cracked his back and looked at Solomon, "Thank you for your help." He smiled. "Now let's see, what did I get from you?" He quickly flashed the elements in his hand. "Meh, boring." Zac sighed. Adam passed out the moment Zac removed his mouth. The twins skittered off to get the blood. |
Jasmine frowned and pulled her wists from Kali. Now that she was calm, or mostly calm she her voice was level and polite, though she felt more than slightly shaken, her words did not betray her. "Rewrite his brain?" She asked with what seemed no more than polite curiosity. She felt... embarrassed. She had gotten all worked up and Zac hadn't even meant to kill him. It had certainly looked like he had, but then again Jasmine knew very little about these kinds of things.
|
Kali let Jasmine go, placing her hands on her hips, "Why don't you just kill him? He's obviously a pain in your ass, and I can imagine the rest of the vampires.." She looked down to Solomon, "Oh don't act all high and mighty you dork. You were basically useless." Solomon hissed and strutted off, flicking his tail a bit as he left.
|
"I removed all of his anger toward me. Which most of it was unwarranted. And I made him not so evil." Zac shrugged. "I never like to kill. And I saw this as an opportune time to change him, albeit forcefully... But it works the same." He sat down on the stairs. "And the vampire world knows better than to kill my family. Isn't that right Adam?" He leaned back on his elbows as Adam groaned. "Ah yes, that is a good boy." He chuckled. "You really do have fantastic blood. But then again all of the vampire women you have been with know that." He leaned forward.
The twins came back holding three bottles of blood each. "Thank you girls." Zac made a bottle appear open and hovering over Adam's mouth. "You might wanna open your throat. It would be to painful if I did it for you." He chuckled. "There we go." He made the bottle tip forward with TK. |
Jasmine's frown deepened slightly. She wasn't sure exactly how moral rewriting Adam's personality was, but she thought it was better than killing him. "So what now? You just fix him up, pat him on the hand and set him free?"
|
"Kinda sorta, I was planning of locking him in my dungeon for the next twenty or so years. And I would block his powers so he will survive." Zac sighed as he made the empty bottle disappear and a full bottle appear. "Wait, Layla, Lindsey did I let my fledgling out?" He looked at the twins.
"Yes sir, about five years ago we think." The twins spoke at the same time. "Ah good, good." He nodded. "There you go Adam there is a vacancy." He chuckled. |
Jasmine raised and eyebrow. "The world of vampire's is a strange, strange place." She said, shaking her head. He glanced sideways at Adam for a brief moment, then back to Zac.
|
Kali shook her head, grabbing her knife, "I'd be happy to kill him..." She knew that Zac didn't really want her to since he just wasted all that power to 'fix' Adam. "It doesn't surprise me that you have a dungeon...rather it kind of creeps me out."
