It's a pity that they do. Smaller sites may be slower, but people don't get lost in the crowd.

Yeah it's much easier to have conversations on Trisphee because it's at the size where getting to know active members isn't so hard. If only it could stay this size forever with just a little more growth. I wouldn't mind if it stayed at 2,000 active members.

You need to have new members coming in, though, to replace the ones that leave. And you need ones that donate in order to keep the site running.

There are a lot of things I would love to do, and I always thought it would be cool to make my own avatar site, but I would only do it if it was going to be totally, 100% legit, with people of sufficient skill and professionalism in every facet of the experience. None of hte sites I am on are absolutely 100% to my desired specifics - not that they aren't excellent, of course - so I would want to create the experience that I desire.

If I get around to making an avatar site someday, I'd like the users to enjoy the site. Yeah, I'd make the layout and features the way I'd want, but I want to make sure the majority of users enjoy it as well. I'd also make items that I would want, and I would also take requests like how Trisphee does it. I love how they sometimes alter items to satisfy their users. I'd like to be like that.

Well, of course I woudl have to be responsive to users' needs and requests; that's only a major part of the experience on such sites, interaction with the users and the owners/mods. But it could fulfill the things that I require and still be open to suggestions and such :).

Yes. You would need skilled people on your team as artists and coders.

I wouldn't want an inexperienced pixeller OR coder, that's for sure xD

yes; one of the issue with several sites I have seen is that they just grab random people to do these jobs.

Yes. You can run into big problems if you have no one skilled to turn to for those positions. At least with art and pixels you might randomly have a member who can pull things off. A good coder would be harder to get.

Yeah, plus it is easy to tell at the beginning whether someone has artistic skill.

The artists here on Trisphee are pretty amazing. I'd like to learn how to pixel items and learn coding so I at least have one trustworthy person to get the job done every month. I would just need to find moderators and writers for the first couple of months while taking applications. I might even try to befriend someone in college who knows how to pixel items and is into this kind of stuff.

It is quite easy to meet all sorts of people in college, so that is a good idea.
