(ok so i redid this little bit .. but i think it turned out better xD)
'fucking finally' he thought to himself feeling the drag from the blade as it met with Brishen's chest. He didn't care if it wast fatal or not it was going to give him a advantage now. Even if it slowly bled him out it would hinder his ability to fight. Quickly he regathered his thoughts and prepared for another strike he was going to land a fatal one or do enough tap and goes to make sure this bastard didn't walk away from this fight. Though his plan was cut short hearing the sudden order barked from Brishen's lips towards Judith. That's not what he wanted to hear, knowing all too well of her skills with a bow. This wouldn't end well if she didn't fire so he was prepared for the shot that was certain. But that hardly helped seeing as she had already released the arrow from her bow almost as quickly as Brishen had given her the order. He didn't ave time to block the arrow like he did during the first encounter. The arrow struck it's mark dead on, he hardly had enough time to think about moving let alone executing it as he felt the sudden pain race through his shoulder and to his chest and arm. He had half a mind to just pull the damned thing out but thought better on it knowing that'd just increase the blood he'd lose from the wound. He'd have to leave it there for now he thought as he broke the end of it off to shorten it. The two others that were with this group seemed to stay over to the side not interfering with the fight, though he hardly knew how long that would last with the commander bleeding with a deep wound. Let alone now his fighting was hindered.. Why couldn't she have just finished him off he thought to himself that would have made things damn simple. But instead she had just wounded him and almost put him at the mercy of her brother in the same act. Brishen grinned wildly seeing that even just being wounded the dark elf seemed hesitant to attack now, but being a duel blade fighter he knew very well a wounded shoulder the dark elf was working with only half of his power. Though Rhyldrin was still forcing himself to keep both blades ready and willing to strike, it didn't mean he didn't feel the pain that was for sure... He just knew he couldn't drop his guard he wasn't going to give in and accept that this fight was pretty much done due to one shot, well that and the fact that this fight had lasted far longer then he had planned. He was debating on striking Brishen again but didn't get the chance to as Brishen charged forward, Rhyldrin couldn't block this blow like he had all the other though he did try to at least struggle against it as his ears went back and he gritted his teeth from the pain as it shot through half of his body. He was using both blades against Brishen's sword to keep it from connecting with his body but it was quickly sapping his energy just to keep this up. Brishen pulled the weapon back noticing the change in how Rhyldrin had blocked and he was going to take advantage of that. Thrusting forward again he was forcing Rhyldrin to block with the wounded arm taking the majority of the impact from the blows. 'fuck... I need to get out of here this isn't going to end well if I keep trying to block I can't do anything else' he hissed at himself, but at the same time where the hell or how was he suppose to get away.. Judith was over there and then the other two were near as well. He had to admit his luck was looking rather grim at the moment. Though it was about to get worse as Brishen moved forward for another over the head strike that was forcing Rhyldrin to block it. Though this time he couldn't keep his balance as the blow after he blocked it forced him to one knee. 'shit!' He knew this wasn't good, the pain alone was getting to the point where he felt like he was going to be sick and this bastard had been forcing him to lead his blocks with that arm. Brishen wasn't giving in even with Rhyldrin grounded he kept his full strength that he could muster on the sword, though he was getting weary as well from the wound across his chest as he panted though he kept the wild look in his eyes. He didn't seem ready to kill this dark elf but rather he had plans if the fool didn't die on him here. The dragon in Judith's pocket whined and wiggled before cringing as it curled up into a ball inside of her pocket. It was scared and it knew very well Judith and it's self couldn't stop this from happening. A dragon was a strong ally but that's if they made it to at least their teenage years. This one had a few years yet to reach such a stage. Rhyldrin didn't have the luxury of waiting though and the dragon knew that as it let out a soft whine again from inside her pocket. |
Judith cringed when she opened her eyes, though at least she had enough time to think of a non-fatal spot to strike. It hurt Judith to look at him she had not wanted to hurt Rhyldrin but she had no choice. She could only think of how angry her brother would be at her if she had ignored his command and with the other two watching it would only make things worse. The last thing that she needed was for them to question why she had not listened to Brishen. She watched the struggle between the two, it was the only thing that she could do. If she tried to interfere then Brishen would have no problem with harming her and if he wasn't the one to harm her then Uldric or Kane would step in and do so. Besides if she did that then that wouldn't look good. Judith felt useless as she watched. It wouldn't take long for Brishen to grow tired of fighting Rhyldrin, he would call Uldric and Kane over soon to bring Rhyldrin to the ground. She reached a hand in her pocket, she ran her fingers along the little dragon attempting to calm him. The last thing that she needed was for him to make his way out of her pocket, she really didn't want the other three to discover that she had a dragon. If they did then she couldn't imagine what they would want to do with the poor creature. Please don't do anything stupid, she thought and breathed out heavily. Stay in there, I'm trying to protect you. Brishen smiled when he finally brought Rhyldrin down on one knee. He looked up at the other two men ready to bark orders at them. "Get over here!" he hissed at them, he held his blade steadily against Rhyldrin's blades but really his arms had started to shake. If he continued to bleed out he would soon feel light headed and he wasn't going to allow such a thing to happen knowing it would give Rhyldrin the upper hand. Uldric was the first to leave his spot, Kane hesitated at first, his mind had gone elsewhere, then he followed Uldric. "Drop your weapons," Uldric hissed at Rhyldrin, his face was twisted with amusement. If he wasn't capable of holding his laughter then he would be in hysterics right now. Uldric drew his sword from his side, it was thin and long. Kane did not draw a weapon he had trained with magic though it wasn't hard to tell that from the way he was dressed. When Rhyldrin dropped his weapons Kane grabbed the back of his shirt and forced him to lay down on the ground, though he didn't seem too happy about it. Perhaps he didn't like the war either or maybe he just didn't like touching a Dark Elf. He brought Rhyldrin's hands behind his back and tied them together tightly. Judith slowly made her way over to the three men, she really didn't want to see Rhyldrin the way he was but she didn't have a choice at all. Brishen laughed at Rhyldrin, he felt like a child who had just been given a new toy to play with. That was what Rhyldrin was to him, nothing but a toy. He planned to push the Dark Elf around, hurt him and he wanted to pry information from him as well. Kane forced Rhyldrin to stand and Uldric stood close to him with his weapon still drawn encase the Dark Elf tried to resist being brought back to their camp. "Take his weapons, Judith." Brishen growled at his sister. She kept her eyes away from Rhyldrin and took his weapons in her hands, she couldn't bring herself to look at him. "We'll take him back to camp, there's no need to kill him yet." Brishen said and smiled at Rhyldrin. "I have been waiting years for this very moment, I plan to enjoy every little bit of it and I'm going to have fun with you." he roared with laughter though he flinched when he felt pain from his wound. "I'll have to pay you back for this, another scar from you. Heh..." he put his weapon back then pressed his hand against his chest. "Though I'm going to do far worse to you, trust me." he spat. When he turned to walk the three followed, Rhyldrin was forced to walk with them. |
(ok so it was a little more the a short addition xD i redid it completely and i think it's better hehe.. )
The fight seemed to go on for forever, or at least that's how it felt each block feeling like it was going to use the last of his strength just to keep himself stable. But now with being on the ground things weren't look good at all. It was all he could do just to keep his block up let alone the pain that was running through the left half of his body from the arrow tip still being in his shoulder. He knew this was it, he was expecting Brishen to end this little fight in some form or another. Though at the same time he felt how his handle on his own sword had changed, the wound he had given the man was affecting him as well. But he doubted Brishen would be stupid enough to push this fight knowing he was going to lose. Not when at this very moment he had Rhyldrin at a huge disadvantage. He called it well enough when moments after Brishen found himself struggling to keep the blade steady he called the other two that seemed to be standing on the side over to assist him. Even being out numbered and at this disadvantage Rhyldrin wasn't going to just roll over.. not just like that, it went against his very nature to accept defeat in any form. He held his ground as long as he could testing Brishen to the very end of it, forcing one of the two that walked over to draw a weapon to get the point across. Though the blade was hardly what Rhyldrin was worried about when he took a real notice of the two that had joined Brishen. One seemed to carry no visible weapon and by his dress he'd guess he was a magic wielder of some kind, that's something he was in no condition to test his skills against that was certain. Reluctantly he dropped his weapons as he was told, but it really was only because of the damned magic user. If it were just Brishen and this other fool then he might have tested his luck to at least escape to find a little fairer grounds to fight this commanding elf on.. one where he didn't have his soldiers to back him up in. After forcing him to the ground and checking him for further weapons, including the two daggers he kept on him at all times.. they were lucky really if he had been truly prepared like he normally traveled then they'd probably find more then just two daggers and the set of swords on him.. He still fought against this though not as much with Uldric's blade drawn and the elf seemed all too willing to use it. He'd have to go with this for now.. but damned if he wasn't going to make the lot of them pay once he got free. Even with being bound and forced against his will he was still Rhyldrin.. his mouth was going to get his ass in trouble for certain and he wasn't going to let the enemy see if he was worried or feared what they could do to him. Hell he wasn't even worried about what Brishen could do to him, whatever it was he was going to taunt the man to do his worse because if he got free or rather when he got free Brishen's last breath would be his. Though it never crossed his mind at all that maybe he wouldn't get out of this one, this elf before him could be his death. No that'd require him admitting his defeat before that thought crossed his mind. Sure he knew Judith was there but he avoided looking at her, he didn't need to see what pain she was going through due to this. He very well knew that she missed on purpose.. her aim was damned perfect for her to not have missed on purpose. She only shot to keep her brother from thinking anything of it, that and the fact there were two others here. He was hardly blaming her for this, if he had been watching her from the start he could have avoided the shot altogether. Really when he got the chance he'd have to thank her, she could have just ended it right then and there. He had been avoiding her for the past month and had never gave her any real reason.. She had probably been worried this whole time that something happened or that the last time they were together she had done something wrong. Rhyldrin knew exactly why Brishen was laughing, this fool probably thought he could work some information from him before killing him or inflicting enough damage to where he might as well be considered dead. He didn't know the training Rhyldrin had been through even as a child he was put into training to prepare for such cases. It would take a hell of a interrogation and he'd probably still never spit up any useful information. Better yet Rhyldrin had a immunity to alcohol.. so forcing that on him and hoping that he'd spill information in a drunken state was also out of the question. Really from some of the odd circumstances he had gotten into in his younger years he had built up a tolerance for most forms of prying information out of someone. He was only behaving now due to the blade still drawn by Uldric, he'd be willing to test his strength even bound against Brishen in a weakened state. Though the mage could prove to be a hassle.. so probably not the best idea. "Tsk laugh while you have breath" He hissed at Brishen before smirking a bit stuck in his normal smug ways. Brishen was hardly amused by this as he went about speaking again saying they were going to take him to the camp. "Oh yes your little camp, I've only stalked it for a few months now. Probably the reason a few of your scouts went missing from time to time." He seemed to be taunting Brishen with his words and he knew it was working seeing as the elf seemed ready to strike him down for his words though he held back for the time being. He went back to speaking again though Rhydrlin hadn't been waiting years for this moment .. he'd been waiting years to make this bastard draw a last final breath as he gasped for air choking on his own blood. Though he couldn't help with being a smart ass with how Brishen had worded his sentence. "Fun with me huh? You light elves are odd ones aren't you or do you all talk that way to other males?" He had to laugh it it knowing he just flat out accused Brishen of being into males, though he was rewarded for his mouth as Uldric struck him in his back with the hilt of the weapon. Rhydrlin grinned a bit after righting himself once more he could tell the wound on Brishen's chest was deep, shame it probably wasn't fatal.. he just had to strike it once more to fix that though. "Tsk do your worse, you'll get more then just another scar from me next time our blades cross." He hissed at Brishen as his ears went back showing his mood further, he meant his words, even if he was a smart ass he was dead serious about that statement. Brishen for now seemed to ignore such threats, though he shouldn't be.. because Rhyldrin had no intention of staying a captive forever. Being forced to walk as they headed towards the light elf encampment, he had to admit this was almost a thrill to him knowing he was going to be surrounded with little to no hope of escape. what more of a challenge could he have asked for. Though he could live without the arrow head still being in his shoulder, each step sent a strand of pain through half of his body due to the uneven ground. Though it didn't stop him from looking for any escape he could come across a opening that's all he needed even being bound he wasn't defenseless. The walk after a while brought the group to the entrance of the light elf camp. Brishen would probably go get that wound tended to before returning to pay attention to his new found captive/toy. Though Brishen hardly knew the best part, the fact that Rhyldrin had killed the previous king, he was saving that information just to piss the light elf off further. |
Brishen was thrilled when he returned to the camp with Rhyldrin though he became easily annoyed when Rhyldrin wouldn't shut up. Rhyldrin was brought to a tent where he was retrained and checked once more for any hidden weapons. Uldric remained with him and Kane as well, though Brishen had dismissed Judith telling her to return to what she normally did. When Brishen's wound was stitched and bandaged he joined the other to men in the tent. He roared with laughter. His mind was clouded with ideas of what he would do to Rhyldrin. Uldric snorted and mumbled under his breath "Letting a mad man run the show." though only Kane had heard it and probably Rhyldrin as well. Brishen spent hours bothering Rhyldrin for information though eventually he became tired of questioning the damn Dark Elf. No matter how much they hurt him, no matter what they did and no matter how much they asked Rhyldrin he refused to spit up any information that they could use. Though he seemed to have no problem with mocking them and being his usual self. "We will have to do something about his wounds," Kane said to Brishen, his stomach felt knotted when Brishen gave him a look. Though Kane was right, if the wounds were not attended to then they could easily become infected. "They could become infected," Kane said quietly then he added. "He could die from the infections, you don't want that do you?" Uldric let out a heavy sigh then looked at Brishen. "He is right, we need this damn Dark Elf for much longer than a few days." if they didn't treat his wounds they would be lucky to have him for a few more days. "Fine," Brishen spat though he didn't like the idea of tending to the Dark Elf that he hated so passionately. "Do what is needed to keep him alive." he looked down at Rhyldrin who had been forced to his knees. Kane held the back of his shirt tightly and Uldric had his weapon drawn to stop Rhyldrin from getting any ideas. He was restrained anyways and wouldn't be able to even stand without struggling. "I'm bored anyways... we can continue this tomorrow." Brishen looked up at the two men. "Uldric you can leave though Kane... since it was your idea you can tend to his wounds." he spat. Kane looked a bit surprised, though it wouldn't be a problem. He knew how to tend to wounds. Uldric brought his weapon to rest by his side and walked towards the entrance where Brishen stood. They seemed hesitant to leave Kane in the tent with the Dark Elf alone though they left. Brishen barked at two men to guard outside of the tent, though when Brishen and Uldric left Kane went outside of the tent and told the guards to go for a walk. They didn't have to stand guard when he could handle the prisoner on his own. Though really that wasn't the reason why he had gotten rid of them. It was late when Judith crept from her tent to go to Rhyldrin. It almost felt thrilling to think about what she was about to do since she was aware of the consequences if she were to be found. She had gone over the plan in her head since Rhyldrin had been brought back to the camp. She was going to go into the tent and slip him something to pick the locks with. She couldn't pick them herself knowing that someone could walk in at any time, including her brother or possibly worse Uldric. Even just going to see him shortly was a risk though she could say that she was checking on the prisoner if necessary. She cautiously walked to where Rhyldrin was being held, her heart was pounding in her chest and her body trembled. Her stomach felt knotted, Judith couldn't imagine any other time where she felt this nervous. She almost felt as if she was going to be sick. It surprised her when she came to the tent and no guards stood by it. What was her brother thinking? Did he really think that what he had used to bound Rhyldrin was enough to keep him in the tent unguarded? Even she knew that Rhyldrin wasn't an idiot, he had his ways and could work himself out of any situation. Though perhaps they were inside and she would get a nasty surprise. She breathed out heavily as she walked towards the entrance. Judith looked over her shoulder and she lingered by the entrance for a moment. She didn't see anyone or hear anyone, most of the men had gone to bed by now and only a dozen or so men were up keeping watch over the camp. Then she entered the tent. There was a surprise waiting for her though it was one that she had not expected. She felt as if she had lost the ability to speak or move or to do anything really. She stood still completely numb as her eyes landed on Kane who was holding what had been used to restrain Rhyldrin, then her eyes wandered over to Rhyldrin who was standing as a free man now. She swallowed, it didn't take much to see what was happening. Her nerves settled and she breathed out relieved. Kane didn't talk much, he was a quiet man who kept to himself. He was rather timid around women explaining why he had never held a conversation consisting of more than a handful of words with Judith. Though he didn't really like talking to men either, he was rather socially awkward. Judith didn't know him well, but just now he felt as if she knew everything about him. He obviously didn't see Rhyldrin as an enemy, why else would he had treated his wounds then release him from his restraints? "Why are you here?" Judith was brought from her thoughts, the silence was broken and she was a little surprised. Kane was speaking to her though he stuttered a bit, his nerves getting to best of him as they always did around women. Judith smiled weakly at him, maybe she was mistaken. It would make sense that Rhyldrin behaved around Kane, he wielded magic and no one would cross someone who had such powers. Was she in trouble? "I was told to come check on the prisoner." her eyes remained on Kane, she was almost afraid to look away from him. Kane was reluctant to speak, it had to force the words out. "No you weren't," he said then looked Judith over. "I was told to do that and to treat his wounds. Why are you really here?" he smiled almost warmly at her. She wondered what she should tell him, if she told him the truth and he opposed peace between the Dark and Light Elves then she would be in more trouble than she had ever been in as a child. She could even be branded as a traitor or if Kane really wanted to... he could black mail her. "I..." she was quiet, her mind raced over reasons of why she was here though she couldn't think of any good ones that could get her out of this situation. "I came to see him." she brought her eyes to Rhyldrin, had she just doomed herself? Then again most of the Light Elves here knew that Judith was kind maybe he would think nothing of it. "Were you going to release him?" he stuttered the question, Judith was still surprised that he had been talking for so long. This was the most she had spoken to Kane and she wondered if it would be the last. She jumped a little when he approached her, he grabbed her wrist with his hand. Though he wasn't rough, he was gentle. He brought his other hand to her closed hand and pried it open. His eyes wandered over the lock pick. "Planned to slip him this? Let him pick the locks," he looked up at her still smiling though it was a nervous smile. Judith felt as if she was going to be sick, she could hear her heart pounding in her ears. "Let him go, your brother would be furious if he woke up to news that his new toy had escaped." he let go of her wrist, Judith brought it away from him and stepped back afraid of what he was thinking of doing. "I'm not going to tell," he said softly. "I'm a lot like you though I try not to let the other Light Elves know that." his ears fell and he stepped away from Judith. Kane looked at Rhyldrin with a smile still on his face. He approached him and leaned close to him. "I see the way you look at her," he whispered to Rhyldrin then he turned to look at Judith. "If you cause her any trouble then I will have to pay you a visit in the future." he laughed nervously then brought himself away from Rhyldrin. Kane dropped the restraints allowing them to fall to the ground. "I'll leave you two then," he said quietly then brought himself to the entrance of the tent. "Don't stay too long, the guards went for a walk because they knew they could leave him alone with me but... they will be back soon. I told them I would take an hour so that he would have time to escape." he smiled nervously at them though he had nothing more to say, he left the tent. Judith's eyes wandered over Rhyldrin, her heart throbbed painfully in her chest. He seemed to beat up though she knew that he was strong and would tell her not to worry so much about him. For a moment the tent was filled with silent then she finally spoke. "I suppose that I'm not needed anymore," she said quietly and laughed. Her ears dropped, she seemed a little sad. This was the first time that they had spoken since a month ago. She didn't know why Rhyldrin had stopped coming to see her though she wouldn't ask. He didn't have to see her, he had his own life and his own things to do. It was probably better than they didn't see each other after what had happened. She brought herself to stand in front of him, her eyes went to the wound on his shoulder. "I'm sorry that I struck you," she whimpered, she felt terrible about it. "I..." she seemed a bit lost really, she didn't know what to say to him at all. Judith looked back up at him. "I should go, we can't be caught with each other like this." she forced herself away from him. Judith felt the overwhelming need to kiss him, she wanted to embrace him. Though she stopped herself from doing so. "If you're still worried about the dragon, I found him. He's alright and safe with me." she smiled at him nervously. |
He mocked Brishen through the whole ordeal, knowing he'd get the worse end of all of this but he still continued to do so stuck in his ways. He hardly cared he was use to torment it's something they had trained him for in case he was caught but aside from that giving this damned fool any information was out of the question he'd bite his own tongue off before he let anything slip.
When Brishen finally grew tired of tormenting his new toy and left Rhyldrin alone with the mage he was hardly thrilled. Just what he wanted.. to be alone with a spell caster, sure he might be able to hold his own if he was at full strength but at the moment that was out of the question. He wasn't going to question why he brought up tending the wound at least the major one.. seemed like it was just to ensure he stayed alive longer. He started to give this mage a part of his mind as well, like hell he was going to sit here and willingly accept help to simply prolong his life in this place. Though he didn't get the chance to say what he wanted as he watched the mage tell the guards outside to leave as well. What the hell was he up to.. why willingly put yourself alone with a captive, even a wounded one that seemed a little foolish. Though even more to his surprise the mage returned and seemed to work right away on the bindings that were holding him. 'What the hell.. ' Certainly this was a trap or something, what the fuck was going on this was one of Brishen's top men wasn't it? Then again Judith was among the top listed as far as marksmen went.. and she was against the war. The mage never seemed to say a word, though he apparently didn't need to whatever was going through both of their heads seemed to be on the same wave link. By the time Judith reached the tent Kane had finished seeing to Rhylrin's shoulder and in truth he was about to leave seeing as he understood right away why the guards were told to leave. This wasn't how he had planned to escape from here but it'd do, it was making him think on a few things as well.. like the fact this damned war needed to end if it was pulling people into it that didn't wish to fight not for no reason. He never said a word as Judith and Kane spoke, he caught the man seemed nervous though he didn't show that nervousness till after Judith showed up.. hat was it. He didn't have to really worry about it but it was curious to him. though his thoughts were brought back to the conversation at hand as the man spoke again. He was calling Judith out on her lie, hell even Rhyldrin could tell she was lying.. she wasn't very good at it that was certain. She really was a idiot coming here and planning to help him escape.. he would have made due without her help she didn't owe him anything so she didn't need to stick her neck out for him. Maybe she didn't see it that way but he did. She could be killed for helping him and that's the last thing he wanted, hell he didn't really want anyone dying for his sake but at this rate it was a possibly. Though he watched this little event slightly amused over all. Judith was always doing reckless things as a child, he half thought he might have been a bad influence on her causing her to rebel more by being her friend at such a age. His thoughts on that were disrupted as Kent walked back over towards him and spoke in a whisper, though what he said Rhyldrin was hardly amused at. His ears went back a little before he hissed a reply to his words so only Kane could hear "You should watch your tongue mage.." He spoke such words knowing damn well nothing was going to happen between him and Judith even if he did favor her it didn't make a damn bit of difference. Sure he was slightly annoyed but he had to be thankful in some form as well that this stranger bothered to help at all, though it was odd for someone who seemed nervous around Judith warned him not cause her trouble. It wouldn't be a problem after he left here, he'd watch himself better and wait to catch Brishen alone next time. That way no one else was hurt in the process in any form. He shook his head a little after Kane left the tent and had his final words in. He half thought light elves were nuts or there was something in the water but then again some of his own were the same as he thought back to Neimi.. she would have done the same and her husband as well.. even if he trained killers on a daily basis. He had half a mind to let her just walk out, but he couldn't whatever possessed him he couldn't let her leave like this she was upset and it wasn't anything that she had done wrong. Hell she did everything perfectly up until tonight he was going tot ell her never do that again no matter what was happening. Seeing as he didn't say anything at first Judith started to turn and walk away but he stopped her from doing so. Getting her to look at him again he let out a slight sigh before speaking. "stupid.. what do you have to say sorry for? You didn't kill me did you. I know damn well you had a clear shot and you didn't take it so why are you sorry? You've done nothing wrong you did as you were told and I'm glad you did it." He smiled at her though it was a little weak but he still kept his hand on her shoulder to keep her from walking away not that she was going to in the middle of him speaking. "I should be saying sorry I dragged you into this, I had been avoiding you for the past month to prevent just this from happening.. heh and it still happened." He seemed to pause a second before speaking again, he knew he was pressed for time but he needed to get all of this out he couldn't stand to leave her knowing she was going to blame herself. "just.. promise you won't do something like this again... " He said before taking her hand that was holding the lock pick in it in his. "do you know what they would have done to you if you were caught helping me? They would ave killed you just out of spit to try and get to me seeing as everything they did today failed.. so please promise that at least.." He meant it too he needed her to promise it at least before he left, he wasn't sure what he was going to do after he left .. but he just knew he needed to get out of this place for now anyway until his shoulder was fully healed he'd have to wait again. he wasn't worried about the dragon really, he knew the little creature was good at finding places to hide and about getting out of trouble. Really he had to admit he was glad to see her he had been working so damn hard to keep her off of his mind and he had failed the whole time, but he couldn't tell her that. Though the mage seemed to notice it, he'd have to watch himself to ensure no one else noticed it. If her brother found out she wa a weakness.. he might be insane enough to use her to lure Rhyldrin back out for a round two. |
Judith breathed out heavily as she felt Rhyldrin stop her. What was he doing? He had to get out of here there was no time for words, though she melted a little when he touched her and her ears dropped as she heard him spoke. It was difficult to look at him knowing that she might not see him again after this. It seemed that they both knew why they couldn't see each other. Judith felt as if she should pull away from him, she wanted to be mean. To make him think that she wanted nothing to do with him, it was better that way. Nothing could happen, even staying friends would be dangerous. Though she couldn't bring herself to be cruel to Rhyldrin, it didn't seem right. "I was being careful, I would have not been caught, why do you worry so much?" she asked then smiled weakly. What was she talking about? It made her feel different when Rhyldrin showed that he cared, it wasn't a bad feeling, she felt good. "Then again I worry a lot, don't I?" she laughed quietly. She didn't know what came over her, she brought herself close to Rhyldrin. Judith brought her free hand to his chest. "I can't make any promises, you know me. Do you really care about me that much?" she seemed to be teasing him but really it was just a simple question. Judith brought the hand that she held to his chest up his neck and to the side of his face. "If it makes you feel better... I won't do anything as reckless as this again. Alright? I promise." she wondered if he even trusted her not to get herself in trouble. For a moment she found it even more difficult to pry herself from him. She looked up at him and smiled weakly. Judith knew that if she didn't break away from his touch now then it would only become more difficult as time passed by. "I should leave now," she mumbled quietly, her ears remained down it really bothered her that she had to leave him. "You have to leave too before the guards come back, please?" her voice cracked a little and she drew her hands away from him reluctantly. "I understand if you don't come see me again. You know where I will be if you wish to see me. Please just go." |
He nodded a little at her saying she worried a lot, she worried twice as much as he did if not more. He was only worried that she was going to be caught he couldn't be around to protect her as he was when they were kids.. this was different. Why couldn't things be so damn simple, it'd never go back to those days would it. Was it bad that he worried about her, then again why was he worrying she was a light elf he had to get that through his head even if peace fell it wouldn't be something accepted, she didn't want tat anyway she'd never be happy that way. He knew he was over thinking things by that point.
He sighed a little as she moved closer and spoke "I know, that's why I said it." Though he didn't answer her right away as to if he cared that much, what was he suppose to tell her. After she moved her hand to his face and spoke again saying she wouldn't be as reckless he looked at her, he was still trying to figure out if he should say yes to her question. "is it wrong to say I do care? It's not like when we were little I could easily get to where you were and protect you" He shouldn't have said that aloud, what did it matter she was just a friend she could handle her self he didn't need to act like a mother hen to her. Really he didn't trust her to stay out of trouble, it seemed to be drawn to her. He had never seen one person get into so many tight spots in his life till he met up with her. She was always into something and always needing help. "you better not be lying" Was his only reply to her saying she promised. she couldn't stay out of trouble he knew that but it made him feel a little more relaxed hearing her say that she promised, even if it wasn't the full truth. He nodded a little as she said she should leave, she was right he needed to get out of here as well. Sure taking on a few guards wouldn't be a issue but he didn't need to draw attention to himself. Let alone he was unarmed that didn't help matters, not that he couldn't fight without a weapon but against armed guards that wasn't smart. He started to walk by her but paused a moment speaking again "We'll see each other again, so stop looking so sad. It doesn't suit you" He moved close to her once more before putting a hand lightly under her chin and lifting her head before kissing her softly. He probably shouldn't have done that either.. but he wanted to in the case he just lied to her about seeing one another again. Rhyldrin smirked at her before he stepped away and left the tent,by the time she'd get outside he;d be long gone from sigh. He was good about getting out of laces that was certain and this camp he knew far too well from scouting it out for months. He needed to get to one of the dark elf encampments to get some weapons though, being in the middle of this area without them was asking for a death wish. He wasn't sure if he'd go to see her like they had done in the past, but he did have a feeling they would cross paths again. |
Judith melted against him, why had he kissed her? She didn't mind, she liked the feeling of his lips against hers. Though it would only make it harder to see him leave knowing that this might be the last time that she would see him. Well at least without them at each other's throats. What would she do if she had to kill Rhyldrin or if he had to kill her? She pushed that thought away trying to enjoy the little moment that they had together. When he pulled away she almost pulled him back towards her for another kiss but she resisted such an urge. "Don't say that," she hissed at him then breathed out a heavy sigh. "Don't tell me that we will see each other again with a chance of it never happening." she seemed a little bitter but really she was simply saddened by the thought of not seeing him again. "Please don't fill my head up with false hope." When he left she waited a little bit then left the tent herself. Judith looked around cautiously, no one was around and she couldn't hear anyone approaching the tent. She wondered what her relationship with Kane would be after this, she knew that he was odd but she didn't know what made him so odd. She would have to keep what had happened here to herself and she knew that Kane would keep quiet about it as well. Judith wondered if she could speak to him but then she dismissed that thought knowing how nervous he became around woman. She quietly went to her tent though she was rather paranoid of being caught out at this time. If anyone saw her they would question why she was up so late considering that she too had to train a bit in the morning. It wouldn't look good either if they discovered Rhyldrin was gone then told Brishen that they had seen his sister out around the time that they discovered he had vanished. She brought herself into her tent and wandered over to her bed, Judith fell against it and turned on her side. "Where are you?" she asked softly, she heard the dragon chirp and felt him crawl on to the bed. When she reached out her hand to pet him she felt him smelling her intensely. "Do I smell like him?" she asked though she knew the dragon couldn't speak. He chirped instead then curled up beside her. ----- Judith had spent a few days training, she was tempted to wander off into the forest to see if Rhyldrin was there waiting for her. Though she doubted that he was there, she had to stop thinking that anything could happen between them. It couldn't even if peace came between the Dark and Light Elves. Though she couldn't help but question how long it would take after the end of the war for it to become acceptable for a Dark Elf and Light Elf to be together. She shook her head, why was she even going there? Today was something that Brishen had been training his men for for the past few months. He had discovered a Dark Elf camp and wanted to get back at them for what they had been doing to the Light Elf camps. He still didn't know that Rhyldrin had been the only one involved in destroying all of the camps and slaying his fellow Light Elves. He had been rather pissed when he was woken and told that Rhyldrin had escaped. Brishen could have killed the messenger if he didn't have at least some self control over his emotions. He knew that it wouldn't be the last time that he saw Rhyldrin. He knew that the Dark Elf wanted to kill him just as much as he wanted to kill him. It wouldn't be long before they crossed paths again. Brishen had brought with him thirty of his best men, including Uldric and Kane. He had reluctantly brought Judith, he was rather suspicious of her thinking that she may have been involved with the Dark Elf escaping. Though he didn't question her, he had no proof and nothing could be done until he did. He needed her skill today and nothing else, though he really did think that it would be better to have a man with skill like she had. Brishen opposed bringing women into the war, it wasn't their place at all. The group of Light Elves were silent as they came very close to the Dark Elf camp. Judith had made sure to stay far away from the group, she didn't wish to be involved with this. Brishen smiled and looked back at his men. "Charge!" he barked at them. Then they ran towards to camp weapons drawn. |
Rhyldrin had gotten word that his actions had caused the near by camp to be a target of Brishen. As much as he'd love to shrug off this fact and leave them to their won he knew damn well the camp wasn't prepared for a full assault and Brishen would certainly bring most of his force with him. He sighed a little listening to the General here barking orders and trying to prepare this camp at the last minute. This was almost pointless most of them would die. They weren't trained enough let alone numbers this was a small camp.
"I'll lead" Rhyldrin said as he walked past the general with two blades already drawn. The man started to protest but this was the mercenary that had been helping them in the past he trusted Rhyldrin, even if this was a lost cause it was a fight to the end. "The lead is yours then.. " He bowed his head a little steeping back. Though about the same time a sudden cry was heard and the light elves showed themselves in the progress of their attack. "Tsk here already damn it" He hissed before looking at the general he was given the ok that he could call out a order if needed. "Archers fire now, ignore waiting for reload commands it's at will" He yelled before spinning both blades and waiting till the last second before making his move. He had his timing perfect as he met two of the light elf soldiers head on each getting a blade across their necks before they could figure out what happened. Sure the other dark elf soldiers were putting up the best fight they could but it was easy to tell what one was the biggest threat aside from the general himself. He was keeping his eyes peeled for any sign of Judith or Brishen.. he figured he'd see that mage as well. This would be fun if he had to deal with the mage and Judith both firing at him. He needed to focus for now though as he slid his blades across another poor soul's neck that got in his way. "damn it theres no end is there" Was there really this many of them back at the camp last time he was there? For fucks sake there were at least 5 to one numbers here if not more then that. Really he had one true target he was seeking out, the red haired commander.. he was going to get his revenge for binding him like that and using Judith as a cheap shot. |
Brishen's men fell as easily as the Dark Elves did, they seemed to have equal power. Kane seemed a bit panicked by the site of the fallen bodies, the smell of blood was overwhelming and it made him feel uneasy. Though Brishen didn't seem to feel any remorse. He really didn't care if his men fell, he only wanted one thing. He wanted that damn Dark Elf that had escaped. Brishen barked at Kane to see if anyone had survived to at least seem as if he scared. He told Uldric to find Judith when he noticed that she was no longer with them. Judith had stayed behind in the commotion avoiding harming any Dark Elves unless it became absolutely necessary. She had a feeling that one of the other men had suggested bringing her along. It was probably Uldric trying to stop her from avoiding him. It was unusual for Brishen to ask her to come. It didn't take long for Brishen to find Rhyldrin, really it seemed that something wanted them to cross path's. "Did you miss me?" he spat the joke and laughed. Brishen held his blade in his hand tightly, his face was twisted with amusement and his body quivered with excitement. He wanted to kill Rhyldrin more than anything. Brishen had learned from his previous mistake, he should have just killed the damn Dark Elf to begin with rather than bringing him back to the camp to play with. All he wanted now was to hear him choke on his own blood. For a moment he watched Rhyldrin wondering when he should draw his blade and begin attacking him. "This is going to fun isn't it?" he asked, a smile still on his face. Brishen drew his blade from his side and held it with confidence. There was no way he could lose in his mind, he would win this battle and would bring back the Dark Elf's head as a trophy. |
Rhyldrin was just pulling one of his blades from a light elf corpse as Brishen spoke. He grinned a bit looking towards the light elf. "Dreadfully, It kept me up at night even knowing you still drew breath" He laughed a bit knowing he didn't mean a word of it. But he'd play along with this little trade off of words.. for now.
"This will be your end" He hissed towards Brishen before charging forward both blades ready to strike. This quickly turned back into a similar match like had happened before as the sound of steel upon steel rang out. Most of the weaker fighters were already fallen. There was a handful that remained standing though the general of the dark elves from this camp wasn't one of them. Both sides seemed ready to drop though a few were still fighting while the others seemed to stay away from the other side to try and save their own lives for the time being. Trading blows back and forth for a while Rhyldrin had a few tricks up his sleeve this time around, he wasn't going to let Brishen pull the same tactics as before. He knew there wasn't any of his top men near by this time around and he didn't see Judith so he had a fair enough battle with the light elf this time. And he wasn't letting him walk away. Brishen brought his sword down upon Rhyldrin's blades as a sudden steel scraping sound was heard from the force of the metals connecting. "Give up dark elf, your head will make a nice trophy for my wall" Brishen growled at him still keeping the wild smile on his face as the fight went on. Though both sides seemed as evenly matched as before, and by this time Rhyldrin's shoulder was in far better condition.. so he was hardly fighting at a handicap. He laughed forcing Brishen to step back breaking the weapon lock they had going for a few moments. "you'll have to land a blow first, and your lap dogs are in no condition to help you" He found this funny really, there were a few light elves near but they weren't about to up into this battle they didn't have the strength and most of them were hurt in some form or another. Though at the same time Rhyldrin was a bit worried in the back of his mind, Judith was no where to be seen and other was the other guy that was with Brishen from before. He had seen the mage around but this whole thing seemed to through his off his game. Not that it wouldn't most there was blood covering the ground bodies upon one another and wounded all over the place if not the dying. why did that bother him they were both missing.. He didn't have time to think of that now as he returned his focus to the fight keeping Brishen on his toes as he went back to striking out at the commanding light elf. |
( I don't know what else to type to make this longer, I feel terrible. D: I'm sorry! ) Judith lifted her bow and brought the arrow back. Her stomach felt knotted and her wide eyes watched the two men struggling. Bastard, she thought if only she could say it aloud. Why was she so scared of her own brother? She lowered her bow and thought for a moment. Brishen shouldn't have thought of bringing her along all it was going to do is cause problems for him. Judith breathed out heavily, it felt as if her anger had consumed her. She lifted her bow, she narrowed her eyes. No one would know who had struck him. Though as she went to let go she felt two strong hands reach out and grab her. Judith screamed startled by the sudden touch that hurt. Her arrow missed Brishen and nearly hit Rhyldrin though it avoided him as well. Brishen looked over his shoulder at the sudden commotion, he became distracted. Judith struggled with the man who had grabbed her, her ears dropped as she saw it was Uldric. "What are you doing?" he barked at her, his eyes were filled with anger. She let out a cry as she felt his grip become tighter. Judith slammed her bow against his chest and he brought his free hand to her other hand. "You're not getting away, not after what I just saw you attempt." he hissed. Judith squirmed trying to release herself from his grip, she managed to pull one hand from his own and swung her first against his face. "Let go of me!" she hissed. Uldric flinched from the hit he brought his now free hand to grab her by her hair but Judith brought her mouth to his hand and bit down on it hard. Judith didn't let go even when she tasted blood though when Uldric reached for his blade she let go and dodged it as he swung it at her. |
(aw your fine silly)
He was mere inches from landing a hit on Brishen when he noticed the arrow that was fired and stepped back a bit to avoid it, Brishen had noticed this as well. Though the next sight seemed to trigger something in his mind. Something Judith had told him when she had run away from the camp she was in before.. this guy. Brishen seemed to grin a bit before he turned around and ignored what Uldric was doing to his sister. "seems you have allies dark elf" He laughed a little even his own sister nearly killed him. Rhyldrin wasn't thrilled that this bastard and the other one with him knew this, why had she tried to do something so reckless it wasn't that damn long ago he made her promise him she wouldn't. "Tsk... " He hissed at Brishen though it wasn't going to matter he knew Judith was on her own for the time being. He needed to end this fight he knew she didn't fair well in hand to hand sure she could fight but it was different against someone who was doing nothing but close range combat. "Leave her out of this" He growled at Brishen before striking at him and slamming all of his force into his strike as he brought both blades down upon Brishen's forcing him to take a few steps back in the process to keep his balance. "Oh, whats this? What are you getting worked up over you weren't trying this hard before" Brishen laughed at the sudden change in fighting style though he Hardly knew this was going to be his last fight if he kept trying to pick at Rhyldrin. "Don't flatter yourself, I'm correcting a mistake I should have cleared years ago" He said towards Brishen before drawing his blades back and striking again, he seemed a bit more focused into the fight this time around as he did manage to connect one of the blades with Brishen while the other blocked the strike towards him. This was still to be a long drawn out battle but he wasn't going to lose, if he did then Judith.. no he couldn't lose it wasn't a option. |
"I knew there was something wrong with you," Uldric hissed as he waved his blade from side to side. "I knew that you hated your brother but I didn't know that you would ever consider striking him to protect that thing." his eyes wandered over Judith trying to figure out what she could have possibly been thinking. "I should kill you but I have a better idea," he spat then smiled, it was an evil smile and it made Judith feel uneasy. "I think that I'll play with you for a little bit then kill you, traitor." Judith's heart pounded in her chest when he called her a traitor. She really was wasn't she? She had not planned to kill Brishen she had only wanted to harm him to allow Rhyldrin to gain the upper hand and for all of these years she had thought about how she would end Uldric's life as well. She smiled at him, she didn't know why she was smiling. "Why are you smiling?" Uldric looked at her, he was a bit surprised by how she was behaving. "Do you think that this is funny?" he hissed then approached Judith. "I think it's hilarious!" she replied. Judith's ears dropped as he swung his blade at her once again, she breathed in heavily afraid of what could happen to her. Uldric wouldn't be kind to her, he never had planned to be kind to her. She wrinkled her nose in disgust, her hand wandered to her thigh and she released her dagger from it's holster. "I'm tired of you." she watched him for a moment wondering if she even had time to speak again. She bit her tongue knowing that taunting Uldric would only anger him more. "Fuck you," she spat. She twirled the dagger in her hand wondering where to strike him first. What would cause him the most pain? Uldric readied himself to attempt to strike Judith again. "Bitch, I'm going to enjoy this." he laughed then began to circle around her. Judith watched him carefully as he swung his sword at her she ducked and dragged her dagger against his stomach. She wasn't good at close up combat but she would try her best. Judith wouldn't allow Uldric to be an annoyance anymore. She flinched when she felt something warm hit her face, Uldric pressed his free hand against his stomach. Judith leaned upwards and slammed her elbow into his chin hard. Judith pushed her entire body against him in an attempt to knock him down, though he grabbed her arm and brought her to the ground with him. They struggled, Judith held his wrist trying to keep his blade from reaching her skin. Her dagger slipped from her hand as she brought it to block his blade from meeting her neck. Judith cringed in pain as his blade dug into her hand. Fuck, she thought and breathed out heavily. He laughed at her though it was a weak one, perhaps the wound she had given him was getting to him. She became desperate, her hand was in pain and her head was pounding. Judith dug her fingers into his wrist, pushing them against his skin. She didn't stop even when she broke his skin, she pushed his wrist towards his head trying to get his blade away from her. Suddenly she couldn't breath, it felt as if he was crushing her neck in his now occupied hand. Judith tried to scream, though she couldn't. She couldn't reach her dagger with her wounded hand though even if she could she hardly though she could hold it properly. Her eyes grew wide as she felt him push her to the ground, he was now on top of her. Her hand still kept his blade at bay though she couldn't do that for much longer, she had to think of something to do before she fainted. She brought her wounded hand to his wound and her fingers dove inside of him. Uldric released her from his grip as he cried out in pain. He let go of his blade and cringed in pain, it was overwhelming. "What the hell?" he spat, she breathed in desperately filling her lungs. Judith brought the hand that had held his wrist and took hold of his blade quickly. Uldric opened his mouth to speak, probably to call her a bitch though the words didn't come out before she slammed his blade against his face. He screamed and held his face as he fell beside her. Judith breathed out heavily, she stood quickly her legs were trembling. She gripped his blade with both hands and watched him with wide eyes. She felt light headed and she was almost sick. "You god damn b-" Judith thrusted the blade into his neck pinning him to the ground. He spat blood and gurgled, his eyes became lifeless. She stood for a moment in almost disbelief of what she had accomplished. There was blood everywhere. |
Brishen wasn't paying any attention as to what the struggle between his sister and Uldric, he was too damn caught up in his own world. Both sides having a few minor cuts this fight was still in the air it seemed. "Why don't you just let me kill you, then you can join your friend over there in damnation" Rhyldrin stopped paying attention to Judith though he wanted to make sure she was alright he needed to focus losing it now wouldn't solve anything. "Tsk you first" He hissed towards Brishen before thrusting forward again one blade digging deep into Brishen's shoulder seeing as he had misjudged the strike.
He growled at Rhyldrin before losing his mind a little from the pain in his shoulder from the strike. He slammed the sword repeatedly against Rhyldrin's blades each time it seemed to cut it closer and closer as to if a strike was going to land or not. This was more then tiring, the fight alone was taking it out of both fights but now they were at wits ends both sides knowing that one or another was not walking away form this. A few strikes did land from Brishen, Rhyldrin was quickly reminded that this man was fare from sane.. None of the wounds were deep enough for him to care about though, he'd deal with it. "Tsk that's the best you have? Damn I wanted a challenge" He mocked Brishen, why the hell he was edging the light elf on was beyond anyone, it seemed like a foolish move. He had his reasons as Brishen lashed out wildly trying to strike Rhyldrin down. Though the taunt did reward him with a sudden blow to his right side and a sudden crack was heard with the impact. Rhyldrin seemed to wince for a mere second before forcing himself away from the blade and stepping along side of it to try and aim for Brishen's neck, though at first the strike didn't seem to hit. Seconds later a small trail of blood did leak from the scratch he had managed. Brishen laughed finding this still fun for some unknown reason being so close to death and they both had a wound that was going to get the better of them. This dance of death seemed to continue on even long after Judith had killed Uldric. Both fighters seemed oblivious to anything around them, though they couldn't afford to watch anything else they were determined to kill one another it was like two animals fighting by this point with wild strikes and taunts back and forth trying to edge the other side on. The remaining troops from both sides were watching this struggle back and forth aside from these two fighting had stopped there wasn't anyone left to fight.. none that were already worn out or wounded anyway. "Why don't you die already!" Brishen yelled at him before landing another strike this one slamming down on his left shoulder though he caught it before it did too much damage as he forced the blade up breathing heavily. "Y.. you first, I'll be damned if I die here" He hissed out between a breath before he finished pushing away Brishen's blade fully. Both fighters were bleeding heavily and seemed out of breath but they kept on lashing at one another, at this rate they'd end up killing one another without a final blow. Brishen did after a while give the opening Rhyldrin was waiting for this whole time. He charged forward both blades ready and aimed for fatal spots. Though on the same note Brishen wasn't going to let Rhyldrin have this strike just like that. Rhyldrin's blades both stuck into the spots they were meant for, one into the heart while the other was in the gut but it was positioned in a way it for sure hit sometime vital. Though bot fighters stood there for a moment it seemed as if time stopped, in the same strike Brishen had managed to force his sword through Rhyldrin's middle, though the blade seemed off and at the moment both sides seemed to be motionless. Brishen suddenly released the grip on his sword as blood trickled out of his mouth and he fell to the ground his eyes more while they they usually were. Rhyldrin fell to his knees before coughing violently and holding the wound near the blade. "Heh... bastard..." He forced out before coughing again as blood came up this time. He knew that last strike was reckless but .. it finished it. Thats what he had wanted right? The blade was all the way through he couldn't tell if it hit anything vital hell he was in pain all over anyway so it's not like it was much worse with the blade there. Either way he didn't seem to move from the spot as he stayed on the ground, he was half waiting for a light elf to come along and finish him, that'd be a good glory claim to slay the one who killed the commander. He continued breathing heavily trying to get his mind settled so he could think of what to do, aside from this wound being very bad and that he was probably going to die.. the odds weren't in his favor that this blade missed everything vital. |
Judith breathed heavily, it took some time before she calmed herself. Though she wasn't as calm as she wanted to be. Her mind was a mess and she was almost afraid to go to Rhyldrin, she had watched the struggle still dazed from her own struggle with Uldric. She jumped a little when Rhyldrin seemed almost motionless. Was he dead? She hesitated to bring herself beside her, though she eventually pushed herself to do so. She brought herself to her knees beside him, her eyes wandered over his body. Judith became alarmed by the sight of his wound. "You fool..." she mumbled and brought her good hand to his face, Judith gently ran her thumb over his cheek and smiled weakly. "Though I can't really call you one when I am one myself." she laughed quietly then ran her hand down to Rhyldrin's hand. She took it in her own and squeezed it. "What am I going to do?" You're a mess... I can't leave you like this. I refuse to!" her voice cracked, she was a mess herself. "That wound is pretty deep," Judith jumped and looked up at a familiar face. Kane smiled at her then looked back at Rhyldrin. "It isn't something that I can't tend to, though we can't do that here." he went a little quiet, he was still nervous when speaking to a woman. "Let's see if we can find somewhere better to tend to his wounds." Judith looked down at Rhyldrin she reluctantly let go of his hand. "Where will we bring him?" she asked Kane, her ears dropped as she wondered how long Rhyldrin had before he bled out. Kane's eyes wandered over there were still some tents that stood firmly. "We can bring him to a tent, we have no need to worry about the living Dark Elves or Light Elves." he brought himself to the other side of Rhyldrin and leaned down, he took hold of Rhyldrin and forced him to stand. "With the way the war is it will do them some good to see kindness." Judith stood and held the other side of Rhyldrin. They knew that he wasn't in good enough condition to be up and walking though how else would they move him? They brought Rhyldrin to a tent where they were awkwardly greeted by a Dark Elf. They had ignored the stares from the others, everyone seemed a bit confused by two Light Elves helping a Dark Elf when in the first place they had been attacking each other. Though they wouldn't interfere, why would they? They were helping Rhyldrin not taking him off to torture him. Perhaps they had left them knowing that Kane held much more power than any of them combined. "Lay him down here," he told Judith softly. They had managed to find a medical tent, they placed Rhyldrin on a bed though it wasn't the best. He looked up at the Dark Elf who had been watching them almost curiously. "Could you please bring me your medical supplies? I need to tend to him before he bleeds further." the Dark Elf nodded and gathered some supplies for Kane. He brought him creams to clean the wound, stitches and gauges. Kane didn't speak as he worked on Rhyldrin, he didn't need to be distracted by anything. Rhyldrin was quite a lucky man, nothing vital had been hit. Judith was silent as she watched, she wasn't good at tending wounds and had always wanted to learn. Though she squirmed a little in her boots, there was so much blood and she had had her fill of it already today. Kane began to close the wound after he had cleaned it well. When he finished closing it he asked Judith to lift Rhyldrin so that he could bandage the wound properly. Kane let out a heavy sigh, hopefully the wound would bleed less and less then it would stop. He didn't know what he would do if it continued. Kane looked up at the Dark Elf and smiled weakly. "I'm sorry for barging in here and taking your medical supplies." Kane looked over at Judith and took her wounded hand in his own. "Let me see this... it isn't bad." then he began to clean her wound. |
He didn't seem to respond to Judith, really it was all he could do to keep himself awake. All he wanted to do was close his eyes and he knew damn well that wasn't going to happen he didn't trust waking back up if he did. She was right he was a fool he took that strike knowing this was going to happen, but he did it anyway. He could allow Brishen to live not after he knew about Judith. If it were anyone else he might give them the chance to change.. but her brother wasn't the type to do that.
If he was with it he would have complained at the two of them helping him, but in truth he was pretty out of it. It was probably boarder line of being too late as far as saving him went. But at the same time this action stumped both sides as they watched. The dark elves and light elves both weren't sure what the hell to do, now they stood before the enemy with no leader on both sides and their own either being helped or helped by the other. For now the confusion was a good thing it would prevent further blood shed here. The dark elf in the tent flinched a little when he saw Judith and Kent, let alone he wasn't sure how to take them carrying Rhyldrin or the fact that he looked like he was almost dead as it was. Either way he tried to assist Kent in what he was asking watching all of this unfold, it was a true sight that was certain. Though he quickly flinched again hearing Kent say sorry for just walking in "er.. ah no it's ok" He said staying back a little he wasn't sure why they were helping Rhyldrin they had to know this very dark elf destroyed countless camps by himself let alone killed half of the troops here. Though he couldn't say anything else as someone else walked into the tent, this was a familiar dark elf at least to Judith. Though this time he was in robes with chain mail. "Seems that messenger was a bit late wasn't he" He spoke before excusing the two dark elves that were with them telling them to tend to either said and to obey the order they were given. He shook his head a little noticing Rhyldrin before speaking. "Didn't I tel you ages ago a girl was going to get you killed? Damn I thought i was joking" He sighed a little he knew Rhyldrin wasn't with it enough to reply the woulds alone looked pretty bad. Though he quickly returned his attention tot he two light elves, one looked like a fellow mage yet he was helping Judith and it seemed he was the one who tended to Rhyldrin. He bowed towards them both before straightening again. "I never introduced myself the last time we met. The names Madaes, third general of the Queen's own and commanding officer of the magical department." his actions before you would have thought he was a simple worker or something or a book keeper but it seemed Rhyldrin had rather high ranked friends, they must have sent a messenger out to get back up after the numbers were reported in this face off. Though either way this one seemed to share the view that Kent and Judith had seeing as he had ordered his own to tend to both sides as needed. Maybe this was the beginning of the end.. at least tot he war. |
Kane had finished tending to Judith's wound when more Dark Elves entered the tent. He wrapped her wound then allowed her to take her hand away from him finally. Judith's ears dropped, at first she felt uneasy and didn't expect to see a familiar face. She smiled at Madaes when she recognized him. "Neimi's husband?" she asked though she knew the answer would be yes. Kane looked a little confused, he wanted to ask Judith how she knew this man and how she also knew his wife. Though he kept to himself and occupied himself by looking over Rhyldrin quickly for any wounds he may have missed. Judith blushed furiously when she heard his comment, her ears remained down. She knew that Rhyldrin was rather reckless though maybe them meeting again made him even more so. She had been rather reckless herself, most of this was certainly her fault. Judith looked over at Kane, she saw his confused expression as she spoke to the Dark Elf. "I don't really have to explain though I don't want you to hurt yourself trying it figure out how I know him." she laughed weakly. "You can trust him, don't worry. If needed then I will explain it to you later." she added then turned back to face Madaes. Judith wanted to ask him a few questions. She was concerned about her own safety being in enemy territory and she was concerned about Kane. "Are we going to be alright?" she asked then tilted her head to the side. She felt nervous as she asked him. |
He found it amusing when Judith blushed from his comment he didn't mean it that way, really it was a on going joke but Rhyldrin was too out of it still to hit him for it. Though he could tell that the other light elf wasn't doing any harm, let alone he seemed curious on how Judith knew him. That'd be a hell of a story. "I said my name it's not Neimi's husband" he sighed a little he was just joking about it really bothering her. "She'd be here as well but she's helped the midwife soo... I'll leave it at she ended up being busy."
He listened to Judith's questions before laughing afterwards he could tell she was nervous hell they should be this was the dark elf claimed areas after all. "You don't have to fret over it, just having Rhyldrin here no one would bother you, they'd rather not get on his bad side." There was more to that then he was telling her but it wasn't his place to say it either. "But no you and your friend there are safe enough, the men outside are as well. So long as no one starts trying to pick a fight I think the battle here is done. He smiled at her before speaking once more "I did say I was the 3rd General to the Queens own, whatever I say is what goes as far as the dark elves here are concerned. I'll also be passing this little tale along to the Queen herself. She'll be amused to say the least." He also knew the Queen was looking for reasons to try and stop this war, he didn't know about the light elves king but at least one side was willing. "just get some rest you look a little beat up yourself, and tell your friend to stop fretting so much over Rhyldrin" He said before crossing his arms and looking at Kent. "He'll live, I've never seen someone whos that damn lucky before." He almost seemed annoyed by it but it was true, Rhyldrin had the devil's luck it seemed. It would probably be a while if not a few days before Rhyldrin recovered enough to really respond to anything, the fight alone drained his energy. The wounds weren't helping and the larger one was still bleeding a little as his body was trying to heal. It'd probably do him some good to sit still for a while anyway and that was only happening if he was out of it. So Kent probably lucked out on that or else he'd be getting on Rhyldrin's last nerve with telling him he should rest. |
Judith had convinced Madaes to allow her to stay at the camp, no matter how dangerous it would be. Though she didn't feel that scared despite being surrounded by her so called enemy. Madaes had control over them and she was sure that he would not allow any of the Dark Elves to harm her as long as he was around. Kane had not originally planned to stay either, but he was concerned about Judith and decided to stay in the end. While he remained at the camp he tended to the wounded, both Dark Elves and Light Elves. The other Light Elves left after they had their wounds tended to, they were still a little bit nervous up by the sudden change. The enemy was taken care of them when they had been so intent on kill them mere moments ago. Judith and Kane had been given their own tent to sleep in, they kept to themselves and planned to leave once Judith saw Rhyldrin once more. She was waiting for him to heal and was told to leave the poor Dark Elf alone until he did. Though that didn't stop her from sneaking into his tent at night, she spoke to him a little trying to assure him that everything was going to be alright. She felt bold when she kissed him, even if it wasn't on the lips every time. She was in Dark Elf territory kissing a man who should be her enemy so freely. It gave her a little thrill. Though when she was caught the third night that she went to see him she didn't return. She resisted seeing him telling herself that he didn't need to be bothered by her, though she really wanted to desperately see him. Kane was packing his things, he felt satisfied knowing that Rhyldrin was alright now. Though he wasn't looking forward to the Light Elf camp again. He had gone back in the middle of the night telling the others what had happened, though he didn't tell them why he would be gone for so long. Kane had said that he had important business to attend to and disappeared back to the Dark Elf camp. He looked up at Judith who was still asleep in her own bed. Lazy, he thought then let out a heavy sigh. Kane resisted waking her knowing that she had spent many restless nights worrying about Rhyldrin. She was terrible at hiding how she felt about Rhyldrin, though Kane wouldn't bother her about it. Did it really matter if she was falling for him? Who said that a Light Elf and Dark Elf couldn't be together? Kane wouldn't object to being with a Dark Elf, hell anything could happen. He was growing tired of waiting for her to wake up though as he went to wake her she stirred from her sleep. Judith jumped a little and looked up at the man, Kane felt rather awkward. "I wasn't watching you sleep," he blurted out trying to save himself from being scolded for something he was not doing. His face became red and he watched Judith as she lifted herself from the bed. "I-I was about to w-wake you and-" he stuttered, he was flustered. "You woke up and now y-you're looking at me as if I'm crazy and-" he stopped speaking as she began to laugh. "Don't worry about it, I know that your not a creep." he stepped away from the bed as she stood. Kane breathed out heavily, he felt relieved that she wasn't going to accuse him of being a creep. Judith stretched her arms above her head and let out a soft yawn. "You're already packed?" she looked over at the things piled on top of Kane's bed. "Jeez... I'll start now I suppose." she began to gather her things. |
Over the next few days Rhyldrin didn't move at all really. Hell most of the time he stayed asleep. Madaes said that was a good thing or else he'd end up tearing the stitching. Though he got a odd look from Kane when he said such a thing before explaining he had done it before and that's why he knew that Rhyldrin would do it a second time. he wasn't one to sit still not if he still had breath or the energy.
Even with Judith visiting he didn't really respond to her, it was only the last night tat she visited that he even was conscious enough to listen to her. Tough after three days he had recovered enough energy to know he was hella stiff and restless beyond belief. Sitting up he was quickly reminded he still had a few larger wound that needed to be watched. "fuck" he hissed out under his breath holding his middle with the sudden pain. "if he wasn't already dead I'd kill him" He was talking about Brishen, and he meant it though it was odd for him to be muttering to himself like this. Then again he didn't even know how many days he had been out, any normal person would still be out. Madaes was standing near the entrance of the tend hearing Rhyldrin cussing each time he moved, he had to laugh a little he had seen him like this before it was rather funny for some reason. "Shut up" He said bluntly towards Madaes as he stood next to him now though he was still favoring his middle a bit, it'd take the longest to heal for sure. Madaes smirked a bit before speaking "I think they are leaving tonight, you know.. she worried over you the whole time" Rhyldrin questioned him a little "time? how long was I out?" after he was told this was day three Rhyldrin sighed heavily "geese.. that explains why I feel like a board.. damn it" Madaes laughed gain before going on "i know your not one to thank anyone but you should thank them both, the young man with her is the one who made sure you didn't bleed out. Besides it'd be good to let the girl know that your moving" He smiled at Rhyldrin though he was hardly amused by it. After a moment he frowned before speaking "ok fine I'll go say something to them.. geese you can put on a guilt trip can't you" Even with Madaes not saying a word he felt like he had to at least say something before they left. Though with Madaes here and what little event that seemed to happen he was curious, he wanted to question the mage later to see what he was going to pass to the Queen, or what he had already passed on. He started walking towards the direction where Judith and Kent ha been staying for the past three days, though Madaes gave one of his troops the order to baby sit Rhyldrin to make sure he didn't over do it. Needless to say this wasn't putting Rhyldrin in a good mood Really the guard following him was just to make sure he didn't collapse. |
Judith had just finished packing her belongings as Rhyldrin arrived. "I'm going to go for a walk," she told Kane. He didn't speak he nodded at her. Kane knew that she was lying, she was probably going off to see Rhyldrin once more before they left the Dark Elf camp. Why couldn't she just be honest? He didn't give a damn what she did with her life or wanted to do. He was concerned for her though, a bit weary of her behaviour. Judith would get in trouble if she was caught being too friendly with the Dark Elf. Judith did appear to be rather reckless considering what she had done three days ago. It was none of his business though. She left the tent though she didn't get too far before she spotted Rhyldrin. Why was he up? He could open his wound and harm himself. Then again she wasn't surprised that he was up and she noticed that another Dark Elf was following him around. Probably to insure that he didn't push himself. She approached him, her stomach felt knotted and at first she didn't speak. "You're awake," she said softly then smiled warmly at him. "I'm glad to see you up and about but shouldn't you be resting?" she really was worried about it. "You're so reckless!" she laughed then brought herself closer to him. Judith wanted to kiss him, she wanted him to embrace her though she hesitated. Then again the other Elves in the camp were talking about her and Rhyldrin. It didn't take much to see what was going on, the way they looked at each other gave it away enough. Her ear's dropped and she watched him for a moment wondering what he was thinking. "You scared me," she hissed at him. Judith almost spilled her emotions in front of him but she fought back the urge to cry. She wasn't going to sob or become hysterical, she wanted to cry thinking about how she almost lost him. She breathed out heavily in an attempt to calm herself. "I don't know what I would do if I lost you." she mumbled softly though she knew he would hear what she said. This was more than lust that she felt and it frightened her. |
He sighed a little listening to her asking if he should be resting sure she was right so was Madaes but he wasn't going to. "Last I know walking about meant i was awake yes, as far as resting I already feel like I did a weeks worth.." Though he could tell she wasn't fully convinced by his statement. This was further backed when she called him reckless, she was right though he was.
"I'm reckless hrm? Who tried to shoot their sibling?" She might have thought he didn't catch that but he knew where that arrow had been aimed before it was fired. "I don't think you have the right to call me reckless" he smirked a little though she'd probably get him back for that later. He watched her as she spoke again talking about that he scared her and what would she have done if she lost him. what had gotten into her all of a sudden he knew she wasn't normally like this, really he wasn't sure how to treat it. What was he suppose to do to get her to calm down before she broke down on him, she looked like she was on the edge of crying but holding it back. He sighed a little before speaking softly to her "you worry too much. After he had finished speaking he moved a little and pulled her close to him, holding her there. "you should know better then anyone I'm too damn stubborn to die." Normally he'd feel a bit awkward holding someone close like this but with her.. it felt right. Aside form the fact holding her like this was hurting at least three of the wounds that were still healing. "it's not fair of you to say such things.. what the hell were you thinking anyway you could have been killed, all the damn times I saved you or got you out of harms way and you almost threw it away" He laughed slightly still keeping her close. "what am I going to do with you?" |
Judith fell silent when he mentioned Brishen. Her brother was dead and she didn't mourn his death even a little bit. She wondered how her parents would react to the news of his death. "I am reckless, I know that." she looked up at him and smiled weakly. "I suppose that I don't considering how I have gotten you in so much trouble." her eyes wandered over to the Dark Elf that had escorted Rhyldrin. It was difficult to speak openly to him with someone else around. "I only worry because I care," she hissed and gave him a look. "Don't tell me not to worry when I know damn well that you have worried about me too!" "Rhyldrin," she squeaked when he pulled her close to him. The sudden motion had surprised him and her ears dropped. Her face felt hot and she knew that she was blushing. Judith avoided placing her hands anywhere near his wounds, she placed them on his waist gently. "I wasn't planning on getting caught," she said softly. Judith laughed nervously. "I wanted to help you like you had helped me all of those times, I didn't expect to be caught in the act." she breathed out a heavy sigh. "And you can do anything to me." she purred. Judith looked up at him her eyes met his and she didn't look away. |
He sighed a little still keeping her close. "your right I do care, is that a crime?" He thought about what he said before speaking again "don't answer that" It was probably. "am I suppose to not care? I've known you sense I was 15" He started to go on but stopped as he shot a glance at the escort he still had "you can leave I promise I'm not falling over, for fucks sake!"
the man nodded a little before walking off taking the hint, he wasn't going to tempt Rhyldrin even a wounded one. Rhyldrin went back to what he was saying after he left them. "I know you care.. I.. I hate thinking that I worry you all the time. It's nothing for me to get into fights and get beat all to hell." He laughed slightly thinking a little "you must have stayed worried as a child.. I was always beat up back then." He felt rather bad now did he always worry her.. he must be a horrible person to make her worry so damn much. "well you did get caught, you should think before you do sometimes..you even went against your promise to me. you said you wouldn't be so reckless" He smiled at her weakly. "you don't have to help me, really i'd rather you didn't. You were there when I needed you back then.. that's more then enough" If it weren't for her he'd probably be dead long before now and he knew it even if she didn't see it that way. Her last comment caught him a little off guard as he looked at her noticing she was looking up at him. Though after a moment he laughed slightly before speaking again "that's not nice.. thought you were going to cut out teasing me" |
Judith jumped a little in Rhyldrin's arms as he barked at the other Dark Elf to go away. "Twelve, you were twelve when you met me." she corrected him and smiled. "I was ten... I was so young back then but I felt something with you that I have never experienced with anyone else. I cared about you, I can't say that I loved you-" she hesitated to continue speaking, Judith felt a little surprised with herself. "I was too young for such a thing but I cared about you. I worried about you, I wanted to protect you and help you." she seemed a little lost for a moment, she closed her eyes and rested her head against his chest gently. She almost told him that she loved him. Judith bit her tongue keeping such words from escaping from her. "I'm sorry that I broke my promise, it's hard to keep control over myself when I see someone that I care about in danger." she breathed out heavily. Judith felt her heart throbbing in her chest, she needed to let go of him. She had to push away though she couldn't bring herself to do that. She craved his embrace more than anything right now. Judith brought her body as close to his as she could. "I'm not teasing you," she laughed, Judith opened her eyes and looked up at him. "I'm being honest, there is nothing wrong with being honest." Judith watched him for a moment in silence then she finally brought herself to speak again. "I have to go shortly," she said, Judith wrinkled her brow and frowned at the thought of leaving him. "I have spent too long here already, Kane must go as well and when he decides to leave I am going with him. I can't stay here," she smiled weakly at him. "Even if I really want to." Judith wondered what the others around them thought. It was odd to see a Light Elf and Dark Elf so close, embracing each other rather than at each other's throats. |
He frowned a little was it 12.. yeah it was, maybe he was still a little out of it. Whatever details! "you did a poor job of protecting me.. I was always protecting you. The trouble never seemed to end when you were a child." He didn't seem to mind though, even as a kid he always came back to her. Though what else did he have when he was that young his family was already killed and each time he returned home he was scolded by a different person for venturing out.
"Don't be sorry.. just don't do it again, I can handle myself even if I'm in trouble I always find a way to make out ok in the end" He smiled weakly at her, it bothered him that she felt the need to get involved, she really could have been killed and he would have been unable to do anything about it. Though her next words brought him out of that thought as she spoke again. "there's a lot wrong with being honest..." He spoke softly. He had his reasons for saying that, she was still teasing him even if she didn't know it. Saying he could do whatever he wanted to her even knowing that nothing more would come of this. What if.. no that's a dumb idea he wasn't going to bring that up. "I know you do" He sighed a little before releasing her so she could move away if she wanted. Though he stopped for a moment before placing a hand gently under her chin and lifting it upwards. It looked like he was going to kiss her but didn't right away as he moved a little to whisper something to her ear. "I want you to as well.. one day will you?" It was a odd question probably it might take her a moment to get what he was even asking. Though after he was done speaking he moved slightly and kissed her lips with his for a mere second before releasing her chin and moving away in almost the same motion. "don't answer now" He told her before turning to walk away from her. "we'll cross paths again someday" He had a idea, even if she said no he didn't care it would be better for everyone if things turned out this way. He'd talk things over with Madaes and wait for his wounds to heal before he tried anything too stupid. |
Judith jumped a little when she felt Rhyldrin take her chin and lift her face to look up at him. Her ears dropped as she heard him speak. At first she didn't understand, it took her a moment to realise what he was saying. "Rhyldrin," she mumbled his name though she couldn't say much more before she felt his lips press against hers. Judith closed her eyes, when he pulled away she wanted to bring him back for more. She opened her eyes and watched him curiously. What was he thinking? Doing that with other Dark Elves around, they would probably bother him about it later. Then again they would probably not want to anger Rhyldrin, they would keep to themselves. When he told her not to answer him she held back what she had to say. She let him walk away, Judith didn't speak. She watched him for a moment then turned to go back to her tent. When she entered it she began to grab her belongings. She couldn't stay here any longer, the kiss had tempted her to ask Rhyldrin if he wanted her to stay. She could but at the same time she couldn't. She felt so confused and her head began to pound, her poor mind was all over the place. Kane looked up at her alarmed by behaviour. "What's wrong?" he asked, he lifted himself from his bed and grabbed his own belongings. "Why are you in such a hurry?" Judith didn't answer him, she stormed out of the tent and went to the two horses that Kane had brought back for them. Kane followed her, he watched as she began to put her belongings on her horse. She still didn't speak and her face was twisted with some sort of emotion, Kane couldn't tell what she was. Sad, angry, maybe in pain. "Judith?" he walked over to his horse and began putting his own things on to it. His ears dropped and he watched her for a moment wondering what she was thinking. Had Rhyldrin said something to upset her? Judith lifted herself on to her horse and looked over at Kane who began to do the same thing. "Let's go," she said, her tone wasn't demanding it sounded as if she was begging for them to leave. Kane didn't speak for a moment, he was afraid that saying anything else would upset her further. "Alright." then they left. |
Sure it was a bit reckless to do such a thing in front of others though he hardly seemed to care. He had something on his mind and he needed Madaes to agree with him on it. Though he already knew what would become of this request. He wasn't going to enjoy that. If anyone did have any thoughts on the kiss they very well kept it to themselves. Probably for the better, even wounded Rhyldrin was probably a better fighter then half of the ones standing around here.
After the horses rode off he glared a little at Madaes who had walked over to him. "don't say a damn word" he hissed at the other man. Madaes held his hands up laughing slightly. "wouldn't dream of it, I like breathing thanks." A similar statement to what he had said to Rhyldrin before. "so whats your plan?" Rhyldrin looked at him oddly when he asked. "you seem to have a idea in your head or you wouldn't have stuck around the camp this long, and whatever it is you need me for.." Rhyldrin smirked a bit before answering him "you know me too well. I do need you, I need to speak to the Queen and I'm assuming you do as well to report the events here.." Madaes nodded a little before they both started walking again. ~~~~~~~~~~ It was probably a few weeks later after the minor blood bath, most of the major fights seemed to come to a stand still. The Queen of the dark elves took this time to send a sole messenger, bearing a white flag to prevent him from being attacked or suppose to anyways, towards the light elves capital with a parchment. It was requesting a reply message and a meeting time to discuss certain matters, if the King agreed to the matter that the parchment stated then he would have to send a reply. |
Judith had returned to the capital, her home. Due to her brother's passing and being the only living child in her family she was sent home. The other Light Elves, her neighbours and friends, were silent as she stepped into the capital. They had heard of her brother's death, they watched silently wondering how much pain Judith was in. Though really Judith didn't mourn Brishen at all, it was best not to let anyone know that of course. She would keep how she truly felt to herself and accept their condolences. Judith had brought the horse that Kane had given her home with her, needing it to bring back all of her belongings. In her hands she held her brother's sword. Judith felt sick holding it, how much blood had he shed with it? Rhyldrin's blood had once been on it. She stopped by her home and strapped the horse to the fence. "Stay here," she whispered softly. When Judith entered her home she was not greeted, she heard someone stir in the living room. They stood from a seat and she heard their boots against the ground. Her ears dropped as she saw her father. She wasn't too sure how he would react to her being home, their eyes met and Judith extended her arms. He looked down at the sword in her trembling hands, then he took a step forward and gently took it from his hands. Judith looked up at him nervously, she didn't know what he was thinking. His face was expressionless, he seemed to be just a shell of a man. She didn't remember if he even smiled when she was a child, all she remembered was him yelling at her. He stepped over to the kitchen table and laid the sword on it. A sudden realisation overcame Judith, where was her mother? She opened her mouth to speak but closed it as her father approached her. He lifted a hand to her face and brushed a few strands of hair from her face. "Judith," he breathed out heavily then wrapped his arms around her hugging her tightly. "My baby girl, you're finally home." she flinched from the sudden hug. Though she accepted his embrace, it had been something that she craved as a child. "Father, where is mother?" she asked then look up at him. For the first time she saw her father display an emotion, he wrinkled his brow and frowned, a horrible sadness filled his eyes. "What is it?" she cried, his ears dropped and his face was twisted with pain. "Your mother was a strong woman-" her ears dropped, sudden tears rushed from her eyes. "What are you saying? Where is she?" she screamed, she tried to pull away from him but he held her close. "She's no longer with us." his voice cracked, her heart sank. "What happened?" she sounded as if she as begging him, why had she not known? "Judith..." she slammed her fists against his chest. "Tell me!" she screamed at him. She was overwhelmed by so many emotions, she felt confused and she breathed heavily between uncontrollable sobs. "She was killed by Dark Elves." he whispered. Judith stumbled backwards, she sank to the ground and her father did too still holding her. "I'm sorry Judith, I'm so sorry." he rocked her back and forth in his arms. It had taken some time for her father to convince her to go to her room. Judith held back her tears and swallowed her sobs. Judith went into her room, she closed her door behind her and slid a bar across it. She didn't want to be bothered, she didn't want to hear people give her their condolences for her brother. She didn't want to even talk to her father despite how loving he was. She went to her window and opened it, she breathed in though her nose was stuffed from her crying. She went to her bed and crawled on to it. Her body sank into it's comfort and she buried his face into her pillow. She jumped a little when she felt weight being added to the bed, her ears perked up when she heard a familiar chirp. Judith lifted her head from her pillow and her eyes fell on the little dragon. "How did you get out here?" she watched him for a moment then turned over on to her back. She lifted herself from her bed sitting up and rubbed her sore eyes. The little dragon crawled into her nap and looked up at her. Judith looked over at her window and became lost in her thoughts. Was Rhyldrin here? No, the little dragon had just followed her scent that's all. She fell back on her bed and brought one hand to the little dragon. He cooed happily as she scratched under his chin and behind his ears. She closed her eyes, she wanted Rhyldrin to be here. She wanted him to hold her and comfort her. She stopped scratching the little dragon, he pawed at her hand and looked up at her. Judith had fallen asleep, he snorted then laid his head on her hand. -------- Guards escorted the messenger to the castle. They told any nosey villagers to mind their own business and to continue with their lives. If anyone where to attempt anyone they would not hesitate to strike them down. Any news of peace was good, the guards were thrilled when the messenger arrived and told them what he had to say. They stormed into the castle bringing the Dark Elf with them, he was out of breath from his travels but there was no time to rest. This message had to be delivered. They would take care of him after then allow him to be on his way. Bryon, the king, was speaking to a Light Elf princess from another land. He looked up from her as the doors to his room swung open. He stood, an expression of anger washed over his face though it became twisted with confusion as he saw a Dark Elf with them. He opened his mouth to spoke though the guard interrupted him to explain themselves. "The Dark Elf queen sire!" Bryon's face lit up, was this good news? "She wishes to speak to you, you must send her a message back immediately!" Bryon looked over at his guest. "Please forgive this interruption, I must ask you to leave now." the woman stood, she seemed a bit irritated though she smiled sweetly at him, bowed then left. He brought his attention back to the Dark Elf. "Tell the queen that she is welcomed here, I wish to speak to her as well. It's about time that this war comes to a end." |
After the message from the king he allowed to guards to walk him back to the outside of the palace. As soon as his horse was taken care of and in good enough rested condition to run again he took his leave from the capital. Sure he and the beast was tired and pushed to the limit from running the whole way but this was important. Really he thought this would have gone much worse.
It took a few days to get back to the Queen but when he did he quickly rushed to her throne room and dropped to one knee panting and trying to catch him breath before explaining to her the words from the king of the light elves. She stood after he finished speaking, this was very good to hear she seemed pleased as she dismissed the messenger and told him to rest his duty was done. Though she quickly turned and smiled a bit at the two that were in her current company, one being Madaes and the other oddly enough Rhyldrin. "seems things may begin to settle once more.. " She sighed though it seemed to be a content one. "go get two others Madaes I Don't want to travel there overly guarded bu bring the best none the less." She had finished speaking as she dismissed them both, though this was good news Rhyldrin hardly seemed as thrilled as he should be. Madaes did as he was told getting two others that he trusted with this task and knew were the top of the top. They'd need the best in case this was just a false message though everyone that had heard prayed it wasn't. It took a few days to prepare for this meeting, going over a few what if's to ensure the Queen would be safe no matter what. After the preparations were complete The group of five rode out on horse back, though they weren't as rushed as the messenger had been. Altogether the travel time and preparations took at least a week, and they had sent a messenger ahead of them to let King Bryon know that the Queen was headed there. Just outside of the light elf capital this little group was a sight to be hold to say the least. For starters five dark elves this close to the Light elf capital was making some nervous. But aside from that the group of them were donned in the Queens royal attire being dressed in red and black. Madaes had a slightly different dressing due to being a battle mage but the other two were dressed in what seemed to be full armor. Then Rhyldrin who had been forced to accompany the Queen and her party on this seemed to also be in similar colors. A bit of a change from what he normally wore being in half armor. He sighed heavily waiting for the light elves to make up thier minds on what to do with the group. "tell me again why I had to come?" He asked Madaes who shook his head a little "you've been in the capital before so your the best bet we have if anything should go wrong to ensure the Queen can safely escape." He smirked a little "aside from that your one of the best duel blade fighters we have, so feel honored that you got to come" Rhyldrin was hardly honored he hated this forced outfit he had on currently. "never again.." he hissed out towards Madaes who laughed at his remark. Sure the Queen over heard all of this but she had dealt with Rhyldrin before and this was more or less forced upon him, so she would let him complain for the time being. He'd be silent when it was needed and Madaes was right he was the best bet they had to her safety should something happen. After a few moments a few guards came to the gates and said they would escort the group to the palace, from there someone else would pass word to the king that they were here. This was also the point where they left the horses behind, they would be put in the stables near the palace. Once they got up to the palace and were escorted in someone from the ground floor walked off to get word to the king of his guests. Madaes was half looking around trying to keep a eye open in case it was needed when he noticed that Rhyldrin seemed bored with it all. "so whats it like to be back here?" Rhyldrin sighed a little "bout the same though I never got to see the ground floor to be honest." It was just a bit of morbid humor between the two, though they skipped details they hardly wanted to start anything it was more or less passing the time. He was half wondering if Judith was here, he had heard that they sent a few of the encampments back to the capital after the commanders death, but he had been too busy to see if she was still around somewhere. Oh well it might have been for the better he was a bit forward the last time he was around her. |
Judith had heard her father speaking to another Light Elf downstairs about their visitors. She lifted herself from her bed and wandered over to her window. Judith pushed her hands against the glass and opened it half way, allowing herself to poke her head out to take a look. She had spent most of the week in her room, keeping to herself. The only time she spoke was to her father briefly when he brought her food or advised her to get fresh air. She spoke mostly to the little dragon who she hid in her room and had began to spoil with attention. She still had not come up with a name for him, really she didn't know if he already had a name or not. The little dragon climbed up her curtains and perched himself on her windowsill. He looked up at her and chirped, he was wondering what was happening as well. "Be quiet," she hissed at him, Judith brought a finger under his chin and scratched him. "I can hear voices, only whispers and I can't make out what they are saying." she sighed quietly to herself, she felt insane speaking to the little dragon. She leaned out further to get a better look, she saw horses and her eyes wandered over the Dark Elves who sat on them. She had heard about how the talk of peace had been revived. Judith knew the king, he seemed to have interest in her and used any excuse to speak to her. It didn't surprise her when she heard the rumours, Bryon had wanted peace ever since his father's death had caused the war. Judith began to lose interest though something caught her eye. One of the men looked familiar then she was smacked in the face as she realised who he was. She bit her tongue preventing herself from calling his name. Judith looked down at the little dragon and began to whisper. The little dragon squirmed with excitement, he had caught Rhyldrin's scent and wanted to go to him. "Find him," she said to him. "Bring him here but don't be reckless and don't get caught." the little dragon chirped, she wondered if it actually understood what she had said. The little dragon climbed down the vines that grew around and under Judith's window. Judith watched him run until she could no longer see him. ------ It didn't take long for Bryon to step out from his meeting room. He walked down the steps slowly, careful not to trip as he did so. His nerves were getting the best of him, he had been king for three long years now and during those three long years he had fought to end the war and now it seemed that the end was near. The Dark Elf queen was here, with little men though he assumed they were her best. He shooed away any guards who wished to escort him, he didn't mistrust the Dark Elf queen or her men. His men thought he was a fool, one day his actions would cost him his life. Bryon stopped at the end of the stairs, he was some feet away from the group not wanting to get too close. He smiled at the queen and bowed. "Welcome," he said, his voice was rough though it was filled with kindness. "Please, I only wish to speak to you. May I escort you to my room?" he reached out a hand waiting to take her's. Bryon's eyes wandered over the men, he recognized a face though he kept any comments to himself. When the queen brought her hand to his he slowly escorted her up the stairs carefully. There was no rush. |
The dragon understood well enough, he knew both Rhyldrin and Judith enjoyed one anothers company and it could tell she wanted to see Rhyldrin. It went as fast as it's little legs could carry it keeping off the street and out of sight. This was harder to do then it thought seeing as the guests of the king had caused the town to be in a bit of a fuss trying to find out what was going on.
After a bit of a run it made it to the palace and slipped in when someone opened the door, after tat it had the long task of tracking Rhyldrin down once more. The queen bowed her head slightly before saying a slight greeting and accepting the kings hand. She could hold her own if he were to try anything though Madaes disliked this idea. He looked to rhyldrin who seemed to act like he just saw a damned ghost after the king had turned and was escorting the Queen away. "whats wrong with you?" he asked after the two were out of ear shot. Rhyldrin flinched a little before laughing under his breath "I think I was a used" He felt a little ill about now as he thought about it, the face it looked so much like that young man that hired him or gave him the contract to kill the last king.. what the hell? He'd worry about it later. "I think i'm going to step out, this place isn't my style anyway .. let alone I half feel choked in this damned get up" Madaes nodded a little but told him to watch himself and to not do anything stupid. Rhyldrin waved him off, when was he doing things that were stupid. He left the room leaving the three behind, he hardly seemed to care about the odd looks he was getting. Hell they had his weapon what did they think he was going to bloody do. Though after he turned a corner he heard a sudden chirp near a wall as he glanced down. "what the.. " He just looked at the little dragon for a moment before he moved to pick it up and stood there awkwardly. "thought I told you stay with her, bloody thing" he sighed a little, though the dragon chirped again sounding annoyed before it motioned it wanted down. "tsk fine whatever" he said sitting the creature down, it took off ahead of him a little once they were outside of the doors of the palace and chirped trying to make him follow. He frowned a bit, he didn't need to go running off in the middle of the Light elf capital.. there were still plenty here that disliked dark elves, hell there were still plenty of dark elves that would rather kill a light elf then make peace. He sighed finally before he took a step and started following the little dragon, it wasn't going to let him be till he followed it would seem. Though about this time he wished he had a blade from the odd looks he was getting from people just in the streets. Though the dragon seemed smart enough to get them both off of the main street as soon as possible to avoid further interaction with the citizens of the town. "where the hell are you trying to take me anyway" he hissed at the dragon still following close behind it, though the dragon did nothing more then chirp and continue leading Rhyldrin along. The dragon knew where he was taking him, and he figured that Rhyldrin wouldn't be as angry then. |
Judith went to one of her side tables and took out a two candles from the drawers. She went back to the window and set the two candles by it. One at one end, the other of course at the other end. She lit them allowing the window to glow. Judith brought herself away from her window and went to her bed, before she sat on it she checked her door assuring herself that it was locked. If her father knew what she was doing then he would certainly be mad. Judith sat on her bed, she took out a few more candles from her side table and lit them bringing more light into the room. She let out a nervous sigh and she began to play with her hair to occupy herself. She wondered if the little dragon could convince Rhyldrin to follow him, she wondered if the little dragon would even be able to find him. ------ Bryon ignored the whispers behind him as he brought the queen to his room. He opened the door and held it open for her. "You first," he insisted, he smiled warmly at her. When she entered he followed her then shut the door behind him. Bryon wandered to a rather luxurious chair and brought it to sit in front of his desk. He usually made his guest stand unless they were royalty, unless they had some importance. Once the queen was seated he went around the desk to his own seat and sat down finally. He looked up at her, his eyes met hers and he would not look away as they spoke. "Please forgive me for taking so long to reach out to you," he breathed out a sigh. "Though you came to me before I went to you, I'm sorry." his smile became weak, Bryon sat in his chair properly. His shoulders back and head high, he seemed very formal. "I wish to end this war. There is no reason to continue it, unless of course you don't agree to end it. Though that isn't the case here." he cleared his throat, he felt a little awkward talking to her really. It was strange to have his so called enemy's queen sitting across from him. It seemed that his father's death had caused more problems than he had thought. He should have known better. |
The dragon after awhile longer stopped at a house that had two candles lit int he window. It chirped again before looking back towards Rhyldrin and then climbing back towards the window the same way it had climbed out before. Once it reached the window it climbed in and half flopped it's self onto the floor before running towards Judith and chirping loudly.
He stopped just short of a few feet from the house before sighing heavily. "what the bloody hell are you doing.. damned lizard" He sighed, what did it want him to do.. this would be easier if the thing could speak common.. but that took years for any dragon to come close to that ability.. if this one could even manage that. Sure he should have put two and two together.. light elf capital and the dragon leading him to a house.. But he was a bit dense at times, not only that but he was still slightly confused by the king. He swore it was the young man who hired him over three years ago. ~~~~~~~~~~ She sat silently as she listened to the man speak. She nodded her head a little to a few things he had said. Once he seemed finished she spoke herself, holding a noble yet soft tone in her voice. "We both took too long to end this, so we are both to blame" She seemed a little saddened by this, she could have prevented some loss to both sides if she had sent a messenger earlier. "Either way, you are right this needs to end, theres been so much blood shed and both sides have lost enough sons and daughters .. " She paused a moment before speaking again getting her breath. "I come here today as the leader of the dark elves of the forest that boarders your lands, me and my people are tired of fighter and trying to keep what has been ours all these years... Word of peace between the elven people needs to be spread and soon. Or there will be nothing left to defend or fight for aside from a corpse littered land." She seemed serious in her words yet they held a bit of sorrow, she had lost some of her personal friends and trusted allies in this war, it had lasted too long. |
Judith jumped a little when she heard a thud. She turned and looked down at the floor, the little dragon chirped happily and went to the side of her bed. He quickly climbed up using the sheets then went to her side. "You didn't find him?" she asked, she was a bit disappointed. The little dragon climbed on to her late and stood on it's hind legs. It whined and tugged on the frills of her dress. Judith brought a hand too him and pried him from her dress. "Is he here?" her ears dropped and she felt a little nervous. She placed the little dragon on her bed and stood from her bed. Judith went to her window and peered out. Somewhere in the darkness she heard a sudden noise. "Rhyldrin?" she almost whispered his name, afraid that her father would hear her. She waited for a response, she was eager to hear his voice. ------ Bryon listened to her, the sorrow in her voice was almost unbearable. He felt guilty, the war was his fault though even without his father's death he knew that the damn man would have started a war with any reason. He had to be killed, Bryon couldn't imagine how his people would be living right now if he still held power over them. His ears dropped a little, he was silent for a moment then he finally spoke. "I wish for nothing but peace between the Dark Elves and Light Elves and it will happen." he smiled at her, Bryon slipped open a drawer and took out a piece of paper. It was old and looked worn, it was meant for peace treaties. He didn't hesitate to sign it then he pushed it towards her. "I will tell my people once you have signed, everyone will know that the war has finally ended." |
The dragon wiggled it's tail happily after she finally figured out what he had been trying to tell her. Though the dragon never thought about the fact she was on the second floor. Not that it really mattered that much, he figured Rhyldrin could climb if he needed to.
He was about to leave giving up on the damned dragon but he heard someone say his name as he turned back around and looked towards the voice he heard. "heh.. well that explains the dragon doesn't it.." He shook his head a little before speaking again, though he was keeping his voice down a bit himself, it wasn't safe still and here he was in the middle of the light elf capital near the one person he probably should avoid till things settled. "your just trying to get me in trouble aren't you?" He needed to get back before the signing process was over, he'd get hell for it otherwise. But .. at the same time he was glad to see her, at least she was safe here Madaes was looking over his shoulder waiting for Rhyldrin to get his ass back here, but one of the other two asked where he had run off to anyway. Madaes laughed a little "You wouldn't believe me if I told you.." He had a good idea of where he ran off to, though he didn't know that Rhyldrin till now didn't know that Judith was here. ~~~~~~~~~ She smiled at him, it was a warming smile really even though her cold blue eyes still held a small amount of sadness in them . Only time would heal the wounds, but this was a start. She looked the paper over for a few seconds before signing it as well. "then.. it's over, for the most part. " She let out a heavy sigh, this was good news all the fighting could come to a end. Everyone could go to normal lives again instead of looking over their shoulder to see if the enemy was there. |
Judith smiled down at him, she leaned against the edge of her window on her elbow. "I'm sorry," she said though she didn't mean it. She wanted to thank the little dragon for finding him and bringing him here so quickly. It had not taken as long as she had thought it would have. "What are you wearing?" she asked then tilted her head to the side. Her eyes wandered over him, from his feet to his head. A smile crept across her face and she laughed quietly to herself. "You don't usually look so..." she paused for a moment trying to think of the right word. "Fancy!" she was teasing him of course. Though she thought he looked alright in his current clothes, he looked rather cute. She looked over her shoulder and listened for a moment to see if anyone was outside of her room listening. She could still hear her father downstairs chatting away with his friend. She looked back down at Rhyldrin and frowned. "Rhyldrin," her ears went down a little and she smiled weakly at him. "Come up here, don't say no, don't question why, shut your damn mouth and get up here." she laughed then pulled herself away from the window, Judith stood by it waiting for him to come into her room. ------ Bryon stood from his seat and went to her side. "Let us go tell them the news," he said with confidence. Bryon was thrilled that peace would now come between the Dark Elves and Light Elves. It may have taken three long tedious years but the day had finally come. He reached out his hand and gently took her hand in his. "My people are been a bit nervous, though they have craved peace for as long as I have. They will be thrilled and," he paused for a moment wondering if he should say what he wanted to. "I want to have a celebration, this day shall be remembered." as she stood he held her hand in his escorting her out of the room and back down the stairs. "Will you join my people and I in celebration tonight? You may invite your men and others, bring as much people as you wish to. My home is your home and it shall always be starting today." he smiled at her warmly though he went quiet as he reached the end of the stairs. He let go of his hand and looked over at the men who she had brought. One was missing, the one that he had met before. Bryon grew curious, where had he gone? |
His ears went back as soon as she mentioned his current wardrobe. He knew that was coming. "laugh all you want... I got roped into coming with the Royal guard and was told to wear it... " He muttered a few other things under his breath though it was more or less him cursing it and swearing he was burning it after he was done here. He hardly cared to look any certain way, he liked his normal attire, it was easy to move around in and simple.. instead of this flashy get up.
He looked at her oddly when she spoke his name again, what was she going to say now probably could go on a while for his change of clothes. Though she didn't say another word about them. Instead she was telling him to.. that was almost the oddest request he had ever heard. He looked towards the palace a moment before sighing, he needed to hurry up this was going to get them both in trouble or at least that's what he felt. "don't say no huh.." he laughed slightly, demanding wasn't she. Though he did as he was told quickly enough, not like scaling a house to the second floor was a real chore or anything. The dragon yawned a little after he stood again once he was in the room, it seemed unimpressed to say the least. "Really to admit it he felt a little odd being in her room.. let alone he could hear talking in another room. That fact worried him a little. "there I did what you wanted happy?" He seemed a little on edge, he didn't really want to piss the Queen off, he never had many chances to speak with her so he wasn't sure how she was with certain things. But he did know Madaes would give him hell if he wasn't there and he got a gut feeling that he was already late by this point. ~~~~ She listened to him speak as she smiled again and took his hand before standing. "Mine as well, with the war over lives will go back to how they were." When he went on she seemed to think the idea over before agreeing with him it was a good idea, to break the ice a little at the least. "I'll send one of the guards I brought with me to spread the word" She'd keep Madaes near her, he was good company. "Our city is yours as well, maybe we'll hold the celebration there the next year of peace to continue remembering this grand day?" She noticed about the same time the king did that one was missing she looked towards Madaes who seemed to look a bit nervous. She smiled warmly at him before walking towards the man and whispering near his ear. "you know where he went don't you?" She had a slightly evil sounding tone to her whisper but she was just toying with his mind at the moment. He flinched a little before nodding and speaking to her. "long story to explainng it though.. and I.. don't think you'd believe me seeing as it's Rhyldrin I'm talking about .." He didn't really want to tell her but she'd find out anyway.. eventually. Unless the girl was going to turn Rhyldrin down after this was officially announced. Not like he was asking her to marry him, hell he never though of Rhyldrin as that type anyway. The Queen nodded a little before speaking again as she moved away a short distance "you'll have to tell me later then, it seems like a interesting story to say the least" |
Judith looked over at her door, her father was being rather loud wasn't he? She looked back up at Rhyldrin and smiled weakly. "My father is downstairs, don't worry too much." she said trying to calm Rhyldrin, she noticed that he seemed a bit on edge. "He has a friend over right now, they have a few drinks in them so they will probably not bother me at all." she laughed nervously then brought herself closer to Rhyldrin. "I get the feeling that that is not the only reason why you seem so on edge. Am I right?" Judith raised her arms and wrapped them around his neck, she leaned upwords trying to level herself with him though it didn't work much. It didn't help that she wasn't wearing her boots either, she was at least an inch or two shorter without them. She pressed her body against his, she looked down for a moment looking over his new outfit. "You look so different dressed like this," she laughed then looked back up at him smiling. "It's nice though, I was just teasing you earlier." "You don't have to stay for too long," she said, Judith brought one hand down his neck and to his chest touching the material of his new outfit. "You really can't afford to anyways, I assume that you are meant to be at the castle right now?" she breathed out a sigh and went quiet for a moment. "Will you come back?" she finally asked him, her ears dropped hoping that he would say yes. "I want to," she whispered her words. It was her answer to the question he had asked long ago. Though back then he told her not to answer yet, now she finally was. "I want to stay with you, Rhyldrin." she wondered what her father would think of this. Her running off to be with a Dark Elf. He hated them more than he had in the past now. "I don't care what other's think or how hard life might be." she looked into his eyes, Judith felt nervous. She bit her tongue afraid to speak again, she wanted to tell Rhyldrin that she loved him. ------ Bryon couldn't stop smiling, he was thrilled by what had just been accomplished. Peace, finally there would be peace! Perhaps for now between the Dark and Light Elves but it only took so little before the rest followed. He wondered what a world with peace would be like, no discrimination, no hatred, no one would look over their shoulder fearing that the enemy could strike them down at any second. He breathed out heavily, what a wonderful thought it was. Though that's all it was right now, a thought and nothing else. Soon it would become reality he hoped. "Yes, I like that idea. Hold one celebration here, then the next there. We can rotate it," he almost seemed giddy though he kept himself calm. "I will tell my people now, would you like to join me?" he asked her, he brought her hand to his face and gently kissed it. He let go of her when she went to speak to her men. Bryon wondered what she was saying though he assumed it was about the one Dark Elf that was no longer here. He was also curious as to where he had gone but really it was none of his business or his concern. If he tried to cause trouble then his guards would take care of him without hesiation. Though he doubted that he would, Rhyldrin didn't seem the type to want such a thing. Considering who his parents were after all. Bryon would not tolerate any hatred towards the Dark Elves, if anyone tried to harm his visitors then he would personally punish them himself. He would tell his guards to be weary, he was no fool. Bryon knew that not every Light Elf liked the Dark Elves and some probably didn't want peace with them either. "Mi'lady?" he bowed and reached out his hand waiting for hers. "Will you join me outside for the announcement?" he asked, Bryon looked up at her and smiled warmly. "The others may join us as well of course." he wondered if the missing Dark Elf would make it back before he told his people. The queen seemed to be an elegant, kind woman though he didn't doubt that she would become irritated easily by such things. Though Bryon thought that maybe the Dark Elf had a good reason for wandering off. Did he know someone in the capital? |
