Maybe because I'm silly. I made my brother laugh today, I was kind of insulted.

I've been giving serious thought to having a storm shelter built in my backyard. I told my brother and he got all scornful and asked me just how many tornadoes have hit our city in all the years we've lived here. As usual I was tongue-tied or I would have said it just takes one.

Hm. Well, before the last year or so, I would've said my area never has earthquakes or tornadoes. And yet...

What kind of studying do you need to do for a zombie invasion?

To successfully survive, you need a lot of skills! Cooking is a big one, so you can make the most of whatever you have. Same with some agricultural basics, and knowing what you would need to more or less take care of any breedable wildlife in the area. Being able to work with wood, metal, and such is a bonus as well. As far as at least somewhat useful skills go, I can weave baskets, sew, know first-aid and CPR, and a few random tricks here and there.

Well, we went through all the things I had in my room and cut back to enough I could actually take with me when I move out. I'm the one that reads the most in this house. I still have a couple shelves of my favorites, though. Including my Shakespeare. Very bueno.

Heheh, one of the few things I've done for this house is have a bookshelf and coat closet built in the living room, and a bookcase for paperbacks in my bedroom.

I'll be honest, I kind of stopped reading books because I was reading fan fic online and I didn't have money for new books. I'm getting back into now though.

Pfft. Fan fics still count. Just a different sort of reading.

*nods* But it's not the same as holding a book in your hand. And there is no book smell. *laughs* I freaked some friends of mine out once when one of them had a new textbook and I buried my nose in the book and went "ooooooo, new book smell!!!"

Heheh, I had no interest in the textbook as such, but the smell was utterly intoxicating! The Philistines couldn't understand in the least why I reacted that way...

Of course, I wanted to be a doctor for a while, too. And a psychologist. I would probably be better off just being a philosopher of some sort. I like it all more in theory than application. |
