Same here. I prefer the CJ ones when they don't deal with court cases......so dry.

Lucid: 05-24-2012 07:02 PM

The only textbooks I read aren't really written in textbook format. And most of the time, they're for marketing or advertising, so I find them interesting anyway.

Tiva 05-24-2012 07:03 PM

Mine are field guides for bones... so interesting to me

Alpha 05-24-2012 07:03 PM

That they are.....I've looked at, and they while interesting, take a bit more effort to go through.

Tiva 05-24-2012 07:20 PM

*pats head* you look at to quiz me..... I look at to learn the bazzillion markers that are on bones.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-24-2012 07:26 PM

I make sure to find out a bit about people who I vote for.

I only kept a few textbooks from college and graduate school.

Alpha 05-24-2012 07:35 PM

True enough, I don't have to study them, just have to quiz you on them.

And Tiva and my college does a rental program, so unless you want to buy them or need them for your major, you just have em for the semester.

Tiva 05-24-2012 07:37 PM

I need to buy my anthro field bone guide.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-24-2012 07:38 PM

The option to rend text books sounds useful.

Alpha 05-24-2012 07:40 PM

Yeah, you will need to dear.

And it is. Makes it a lot easier and much cheaper.....

Tiva 05-24-2012 07:41 PM

200 dollars a semester verses over 1000 a semester for books.

Lucid: 05-24-2012 07:43 PM

My college rents some, but not most, textbooks. The only one I ever had the option to rent, though, was rented for only about $15 less than buying it. Since my school buys back books at 50%, I saved a lot more money buying and selling it back than I would have renting.

Alpha 05-24-2012 07:44 PM

Eh, it's a matter of preference. Also, our college doesn't buy back at that good of a rate, so renting comes out cheaper for us.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-24-2012 07:52 PM

I looked for used textbooks to buy when I could.

Tiva 05-24-2012 07:53 PM

Ours buys back at like 20.... I spent 100+ on supplemental books (Dracula, other reading materials and lab books) the past year and for what they bought back I got 19.25...

Ae86 05-24-2012 08:08 PM

I'm throwing my Algebra 1 college textbook into the fire

Tiva 05-24-2012 08:18 PM

I will trade you for a Stat book

Ginger 05-24-2012 08:54 PM

College books cost way too much money to me. The price tag on them is ridiculous, even for used ones. Sometimes you'll get a few of them for really good deals but not always.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-24-2012 09:36 PM

Yup. They are too expensive.

Alpha 05-24-2012 09:41 PM

That they are.....well, glad I don't have to anymore....at least not until my junior year at earliest hopefully.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-25-2012 11:26 AM

Some of the ancient historians I read in college were interesting, though.

Alpha 05-25-2012 11:56 AM

Well, my big few subjects that I enjoy are history, cultural anthropology, and some political science.

Angel Spirit Girl 05-25-2012 03:17 PM

I was a history major with an anthropology minor. <3

Alpha 05-25-2012 10:08 PM

Nice! I couldn't stand to be a history major, but a cultural anthro major, quite possible. Probably will stick to to my Criminal Justice though.

Sadrain 05-26-2012 10:10 AM

-rumbles in the thread-

Angel Spirit Girl 05-26-2012 04:35 PM

I like crime dramas such as Criminal Minds and such. You must find their mistakes funny since you are studying criminal justice.

Ginger 05-26-2012 04:51 PM

I used to watch Criminal Minds. Now the channel it's on fuzzes out randomly and I get pissed because I can never finish an episode xD

Angel Spirit Girl 05-26-2012 05:02 PM

You might try looking for episodes on line.

Ginger 05-26-2012 05:05 PM

That....... is a very awesome suggestion! I'm always forgetting I can watch episodes of a lot of tv shows online >.>

Sadrain 05-26-2012 06:29 PM

I don't really watch tv anymore, anywhere, maybe need something to catch my attention first.

Kamikaze Chinchilla 05-26-2012 06:43 PM

*pops up from the shadows and tackles Ginger, then slips back into the shadows*

Sadrain 05-26-2012 06:47 PM

-throws cloud bits at chinchilla-

Kamikaze Chinchilla 05-26-2012 06:58 PM

*eats the clouds, and becomes bloated* x.x

Angel Spirit Girl 05-26-2012 07:53 PM

I'm on-line much more often than watching TV.

Espy 05-26-2012 09:20 PM

-pokes the bloated chinchilla-

Angel Spirit Girl 05-26-2012 09:41 PM

*Deploys parasol to keep chinchilla from exploding on herself.*

Kamikaze Chinchilla 05-26-2012 09:41 PM

*bloated chinchilla explodes...candy and clouds fly everywhere*

Poggio 05-26-2012 09:52 PM

-catches candy and happily munches on chocolate pieces-

Kamikaze Chinchilla 05-26-2012 09:55 PM

*candy is tainted with highly contagious chinchilla germs* O 3o

Poggio 05-26-2012 10:09 PM

-feels like tummy is going to explode- ~8~
