Kaderin Triste 11-26-2018 02:23 PM

I should buy some smaller elastic and make Derpy a new skirt....
>.>

Stabbsworth 11-26-2018 07:06 PM

I think my mum got a sewing machine from her friend or for her friend. Idk.

Kaderin Triste 11-26-2018 08:42 PM

*excited squealing* Thought the chainmaille pdf instructions I bought were lost forever on my dead phone, but I was able to just download them again from my account on the site I got them on! TIME TO TAKE INVENTORY OF MY JUMP RINGS FOR ORNAMENT MAKING! 8D
Might need to buy some in a few sizes for more variety in colors...since I think I mainly just have a few greens, orange, yellow, and red.

Inspire 11-26-2018 09:32 PM

Omg, I'm so happy things are working out for you when you thought they wouldn't, Kaderin, ahhhh. I'm so happy for you!!! I adore red and those colors sound as if they'd fit great together, ahhhhh!!!

Kaderin Triste 11-26-2018 09:42 PM

The red/orange/yellow turned out pretty awesome, but two of the greens were a bit too subtle in shade difference when put together, which was a bit disappointing.

But I do want to get more colors so I can do a bunch of different combos.
Also, here's Derpy's tree and the cat fabric I bought!

Inspire 11-26-2018 09:54 PM

Ahhhhh, it's all so perfect and gorgeous!!!! I love the way you did the ornaments as well!!! Ahhhh, the tree is such a cute small one and the cat fabric is GORGEOUS, ahhhh those blues black!!! You make such great craft choices, omggg!!!

Kaderin Triste 11-26-2018 10:10 PM

Aww thanks! The ornaments I definitely was just following the pattern for the most part. The colors were really just mostly random choice. I am hoping that I have the right rings in red and green so I can do some more Christmassy ones this year. Migjt have to buy a few supplies, but don't remember what sizes I have and need.

I just buy what I love tbh. Cats and color.

Damies 11-26-2018 10:12 PM

I wanna do craft stuff but I have a headache and staring at my lap top is probably not the best idea but I'm here anyway. At least my room is well lit so it's not making the headache worse.

Accidentally slept in until 2pm today too. So much for a half decent sleep schedule.

Inspire 11-26-2018 10:16 PM

Wow, they were??? They're so nicely done though, like you put a ton of thought into them, ahhhhh!!! Sooo pretty!!! I am too, I'd love for you to enjoy the chance to do so, you so deserve it!!! I prefer dogs over cats but that's quite cool.

I want to do craft things again as well but I really need to get a job and get the supplies first. It'd be my first one and god, I'm so excited for that, ahhhhh!!! I accidentally slept late too, I hate myself for it like I always do when I get more than a few hours but you know what, that's quite alright!!!

Damies 11-26-2018 10:21 PM

I was getting up at 10am every day, until the weather changed and my seasonal affective took over my life again....

Also unrelated but: Ornament hooks have gotten fancy while I wasn't looking!

Inspire 11-26-2018 10:26 PM

I usually sleep for 2-3 hours a night, I make myself do so so I'm always prepared for anything but the last couple days I've been getting up at 11-12. But I also watch a baby all night and I'm sick so yeah... This is exactly what happens, ugh!! Omgggg, they're so gorgeous!!! I love them sooo much, if only they came in purple!!! (Admittedly, I didn't look that far into it. I just did a quick look so if it comes in purple, I wouldn't know. Just throwing that on out there.)

Kaderin Triste 11-26-2018 10:30 PM

Not super random choice I guess. I initially was gonna go with full rainbow in all ring sizes though, so I basically just cut it down to 6 colors (because I was broke and shouldn't have even been buying that much tbh) just randomly. The greens because my sister in law loves green, but since she went back to her church she doesn't do Christmas anymore, so that didn't pan out like I planned. And the red orange yellow stayed just because they were at the top of my cart list and I started eliminating colors at the bottom od the list first.
Kind of getting pumped to get home now to dig through my box of stuff! I really would love to get some better storage for my jump rings and scales. We have some snap apart boxes that could be perfect for travel depending on if the smaller boxes I have fit well enough inside them, but I don't have much for at home storage for them except a big tub, which is fine, but I have to really dig through to find everything and it would be nice to have some organized, labeled storage space so I could organize them by size at least.
Of course, my yarn needs some massive organization as well, but I have no clue what I can do about that. I'd buy some nice glass-front cabinets, but my apartment is pretty tiny so I don't have a lot of room.

Damn. those are some fancy hooks... 80

Damies 11-26-2018 10:36 PM

IF my body does it's winter thing I will easily sleep at least 12 hours in a 24 hour time frame. I prefer to aim for 8 hours but my body is not agreeable to that number in winter.

And I wonder how hard it would be to do wire wrapping stuff to make a purple ornament hook :O

Witchchylde 11-26-2018 10:38 PM

I thought the two shades of green were really pretty together. I think the only source near me for crafts is Wal*Mart. Bleh.

XD ^Point proven about the green. There are actually 3 shades of green. Green, Lime, and Seafoam

Damies: with the supplies available, not that hard actually.

Damies 11-26-2018 11:29 PM

I did not know you could harden wire by whacking it with a hammer.

Kaderin Triste 11-27-2018 01:50 AM

I think I actually had read that recently in a chainmaille jewelry book that a friend got me.
Also decided to download a few tutorials. One for a star pendant that I've wanted to make for a while, a few weaves, and a brief scalemaille tutorial which might help me figure that out some.

Inspire 11-27-2018 06:31 AM

Everything worn in existence should be available in purple or a shade of it, hahahaha. All that stuff sounds so amazing, specifically the star pendant!!! I think a black and white one would look great!!!

Kaderin Triste 11-27-2018 01:51 PM

I definitely need to buy more purple jump rings. Just looked and I have....one light lavender, but that's it.

Inspire 11-27-2018 11:41 PM

Oh no!!! You need like 500 as soon as possible!!! Purple is such a gorgeous color and should be so appreciated!!! The jump rings would look so great on anything!!!

Kaderin Triste 11-28-2018 12:04 AM

XP
I cut my order down to a bare minimum of 7 items (6 for the ornament and 1 ring I need for scale flowers because they didn't have one of the rings I would need to make the star in stock, so I'm not getting those yet) and it's still almost a $40 order. T_T
So expensive.
Might have to wait until after payday...
But definitely have some purples and blues in my cart.

Damies 11-28-2018 02:07 AM

My finger hurts from bottling little vials with plastic plug lids. I hope I don't blister ; n;

Inspire 11-28-2018 09:10 AM

I'm so excited to hear you took my advice and are planning on getting such gorgeous colors for new projects!!! The flower sounds super cool, I bet that depending on the color, it could be made a nature ornament to be honest, haha. I'd make several nature colored ones myself, along with several purple and blues ones!!! Obviously of course, hahaha. Oh that reminds me!!! My little sister saved me this gorgeously made purple star ornament to hang on the tree because my family knows purple is my favorite color and omg, it was so cute of her and so unexpected!!!

Oh my!!! I love those little tubes, they're so handy!!! I do totally wish you're lucky enough to not have awfully bad hands after this though, you so don't deserve it, hahaha.

trystan830 11-28-2018 01:13 PM

i'll be making a new Doctor Who scarf! 13 has one that's set to air for the New Year's special. heh.

Inspire 11-28-2018 02:39 PM

That sounds absolutely amazing and like it'll be lots of fun!!! I never really got a chance to watch the show myself but I'm so glad you found a way to showcase love for it!!

trystan830 11-28-2018 02:50 PM

thanks... it should be fun!

here's the scarf~
http://images.immediate.co.uk/volati...ie-85806da.jpg

lotsa colors!

and there's a pattern on ravelry too. yaay!

Stabbsworth 11-28-2018 03:08 PM

i am gay for the thirteenth doctor.

Death by Mirrors 11-28-2018 07:11 PM

I haven't even seen her yet (on TV, I mean - I've seen pictures online) so I don't want to judge whether or not I like her, but I think it could be interesting to watch. To be fair I only know two doctors, therefore I'm not deep down the biased "how on earth can he be female now!?" lane.

trystan830 11-28-2018 07:14 PM

i've seen all of them - One to Thirteen. and i think 13 is brilliant.

Four is still my fave, though. =)

Kaderin Triste 11-28-2018 07:43 PM

That scarf makes me irrationally angry for stupid reasons, but it's also pretty.

trystan830 11-28-2018 07:46 PM

i've made two different scarves that Four wore =)

Kaderin Triste 11-28-2018 07:54 PM

I technically made one, but the instructions weren't for the loom and I didn't have the knowledge of pattern conversion that I do now, so it was too narrow and a fraction of the length it should have been.
Someday I will try again. But I have a few other projects I want to do before that, including a Clue (board game) scarf with colors inspired by the characters. Really, probably just a basic scarf unless I can find a perfect stitch or pattern to use

trystan830 11-28-2018 07:55 PM

ooh that sounds like a cool idea for a scarf!

Kaderin Triste 11-29-2018 01:10 AM

One of my friends actually came up with the idea while we were looking at yarn at Michaels one night.

Inspire 11-29-2018 02:18 AM

That scarf looks nice but I'd expect doctor who colors to be more gray, black, blue, etc??? Must be because of the hyped new doctor. Anyway, a clue scarf sounds AMAZING, especially if there's color matching involved, ahhhh!!! I can just imagine the gorgeousness now!!! Ahhhhh!!!

trystan830 11-29-2018 12:27 PM

well, the Fourth Doctor (in the 70s) had a more earthy tones -
https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/i...4ExH-XApgeUnrw

and then his last season was more red tones
https://pm1.narvii.com/6349/b6dc14e8...595d10c_hq.jpg

but i think the new scarf is awesome. we haven't seen it yet, it'll air on new year's day. =)

Kaderin Triste 11-29-2018 02:57 PM

I have already found the prefect colors for the Clue scarf, but haven't bought them just yet. Holding off on buying yarn unless I 100% need it for an ongoing project.
In other news, just started skein 4 of an estimated 10 skeins on my mermaid blanket!
Really hoping my math was right though...
XD

trystan830 11-29-2018 03:01 PM

yeah, i haven't even looked at yarn for the Dr Who scarf yet... i have a few other things i'm working on at the moment...

Kaderin Triste 11-29-2018 03:19 PM

Yeahhh....I've kind if been overspending on yarn lately, sooo....yeah. I am not letting myself buy anything else until after I've finished a lot of stuff. And used more of what I have. And paid down my mountain of debt some. XP

trystan830 11-29-2018 03:28 PM

i have one more hollyday blanket to make.

and then i have the projects for me to work on, that i've been neglecting since i started my hollyday crochet....
