Espy 01-02-2013 02:12 AM

IT LIIIIIIIIIVES. Okay, Suze, I think we could probably open up and accept some newbies....preferably ones with skills to power up Dante a bit...

Salone 01-02-2013 02:41 AM

Okay. Wasn't able to really do much, buuuut...Na'lsa had a big meal recently. And it might be time for his less power-hungry side to come out. I have missed contemplating eating little Dante bits, Espy.

Espy 01-02-2013 03:35 AM

....Lev, please don't projectile vomit in my general direction.

Suzerain of Sheol 01-02-2013 06:17 PM

Hmm... so whose turn is it now, then? I was thinking to have Shealtiel take a while to reform, unless he's needed. I could fast forward us across the water?

Espy 01-02-2013 06:31 PM

YESSSSSS. Please get me away from that place.

Suzerain of Sheol 01-02-2013 08:46 PM

Also, should I open submissions, you think? If Arikana wants to join, that'd probably be enough. We haven't lost *that* many people.

Espy 01-02-2013 08:57 PM

Er, okay, who's left? Shealtiel (servant of Sheol), Lev/Nalsa (soldier), Dante (survivor), Fee (psychic), Dara (survivor). Did I miss anyone? I think we might be a tad bit...lacking...in healing and random gadgets, and bandages can only go so far...

Suzerain of Sheol 01-02-2013 10:11 PM

Pfft, self-healing (read: soul-consumption) is where it's at. :P

Espy 01-02-2013 11:24 PM

I've had two people do the "(read: )" thing in the past hour >.>

Salone 01-03-2013 12:45 AM

We weave flesh, we do not need to mend it!

Espy 01-03-2013 01:31 AM

-grimaces at the thought-

Suzerain of Sheol 01-07-2013 11:44 PM

Ugh... apologies for the delay, I've been sick again. I'll try and move us ahead as soon as I can, hopefully tomorrow.

Espy 01-08-2013 03:30 AM

Does anyone need me to post for Dante?

Suzerain of Sheol 01-08-2013 11:33 AM

You certainly can, if you've got something in mind. :)

CupcakeDolly 01-11-2013 02:11 PM

-sidles in-
Uhm... hi. If you guys need more players, I'd love to join up again. I want some practice with writing, but I don't want to start a whole new RP.

Suzerain of Sheol 01-11-2013 02:57 PM

Hi, Dolly!

I would have no problem with this. <_<

Would you want to bring back your old character or start a new one?

Also, Espy, is that a no on posting once more before I advance us, then?

Arikana 01-11-2013 03:44 PM

Would I still be able to join? Or are there no more spots? >w>

Also, I have a question. Would I need to read up on the fifty-eight existing pages of the roleplay in order to join? owo;;

CupcakeDolly 01-11-2013 03:53 PM

Hmm, I'm not sure. I miss Ruebella, but I never read what happened to her. I just assumed she'd died. I can always think up someone new. I guess it depends on what kind of character would be useful to you guys at the moment.

Espy 01-11-2013 04:15 PM

@Suze: Yeah, sure, go ahead.

EDIT: Michael thinks Rue died; Dante thinks she just up and left. You can always assume that Rue survived the car accident and washed up somewhere else. BTW, Michael/Funkie's no longer in the RP.

Suzerain of Sheol 01-11-2013 04:19 PM

Ari, I think we could squeeze you in. And, no, I have a summary somewhere I can dig up for you. Do you what kind of character you would want to play?

Dolly, I believe we left her disappearance very vague, though I can't quite remember.

As of where we stand right now, we have... 2 survivors, 1 psychic, 1 servant of sheol, and... Lev/Na'lsa, who defies classification. We're lacking in an artificer with Michael gone, and a theurgist, but there's no need to strictly fill out of those roles if you have something else in mind.

We'll be moving ahead to the largest of the Seven Churches soon (Thyat'ria, I believe), which will provide a perfect venue for introducing new characters. It's pretty much the most fortified place in the world currently and has a large population base, so should be plausible to have pretty much anyone show up there.

Arikana 01-11-2013 05:02 PM

I like the Theurgist and Servant of Sheol classes, especially the latter. >w> However, since you're lacking in the former, I guess I'll be that one? owo

Salone 01-12-2013 04:41 PM

Woohoo, new blood!

Suzerain of Sheol 01-13-2013 08:07 PM

Okay, I moved us ahead. One problem we're going to have is that Zaccheus is something of a fanatic and won't tolerate Na'lsa or Shealtiel (when he shows back up), so we're going to have to lay low. If you have any ideas, Salone, let me know. I mean, we could *try* and sneak into his hyper-militarized city full of psychic super-soldiers... :P

Arikana 01-13-2013 10:01 PM

So do I just fill in a character form thing? owo

Suzerain of Sheol 01-13-2013 10:03 PM

Yes, that will be fine, Ari.

Salone 01-13-2013 10:47 PM

Well, I'm sure even with Lev at the wheel, Na'lsa isn't very subtle. And most likely easily detectable. I might need to reread what all these theurgists might be capable of.

But...he wouldn't mind eating a couple. You know, pick their brain.

Also, on a side note: I am trying to break the rust off of my rp'ing skills. So if anyone has any side rp's they have going, let me know. This one of course gets my 100%, but I've gotta sharpen up.

Espy 01-14-2013 12:02 AM

Did Solar Winds die off?

Also, I could have Dante do some sneak-thief-ing...but he'll probably get pulverized by the psychic powers.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-14-2013 12:30 AM

Totally didn't even know this was going on. Not sure I can keep up at the moment. Could always have Dara and Andy get lost for a while until Arri decides what she wants done with him. Dara can show up later perhaps?

On the healing end, yeah, Dara can repair flesh wounds and reset broken things, but the no-die aura only works for death of the non-immediate variety.

I didn't get to make little Na'lsa bullets. :(

Salone 01-14-2013 02:38 AM

It's alright. Na'lsa has the power of a titan and the attention span of a child.

And yeah Espy, Solar Winds did kind of fade off. Buuuut I'm a lazy person and haven't got around to changing my sig. Maybe it just needs to be deleted and restarted.

And welcome aboard again Arikana!

Arikana 01-14-2013 02:54 AM

Thank you, Salone! :) I cannot wait to actually join the roleplay itself. It may just take some time to create a character to my liking as I've some Tris and real life work to do as well.

Espy 01-14-2013 10:31 AM

Na'lsa bullets?

Speaking of character creation, I'm not sure how Dante came about...It was mostly "Oooh, there's this roleplay" and then about an hour later "Oooh, here's my character."

Arikana 01-14-2013 01:58 PM

XD Nice, I'd love to work on creating mine first but it's nowhere near top priority on my to-do list. >w> (But I can multitask so hopefully I can get it done soon.)

Suzerain of Sheol 01-14-2013 03:07 PM

Ari, keep in mind, if you go with a Servant of Sheol, what I said above would apply to your character to.

Also, we've "leveled up" several times since the beginning, so you're allowed to make a more powerful/better-equipped character than the rules suggest, if you want to.

I still need to get that summary...

Suzerain of Sheol 01-14-2013 03:18 PM

Right, here's the summary, freshly updated.

We began the story in New Corinth (which was actually built on the ruins biblical Corinth) a fairly well-fortified town of about 5000 people. We all more or less stumbled into each other in the street, or, rather, got into an escalating confrontation with each other as each new person happened down that particular alley...

Said confrontation resulted in the local Saint trying to arrest us, promptly getting his arm blown off by Lev's shotgun, and us escaping, only for a horde a Dybbuk (zombies) led by a Rephaim to descend on the city. So, we had to escape the city and ended up in an old warehouse where we waited out the invasion. Between the Saint and the local military, the Dybbuk were killed, but the Saint died fighting the Rephaim, who retreated due to its injuries.

We afterward returned to the city and visited the local AA armory, who, in exchange for both our assistance during the battle and for getting our troublesome selves out of the city, loaded us up with gear and lent us an APC to travel in.

We first stopped at the site of the Saint's battle to retrieve his two Wrath Swords. When we got there, Lev immediately started feasting on the Saint's corpse, and then a swarm of Dybbuk-possessed crows attacked us. We drove them off with of those exorcism grenades and escaped.

After that, we headed to Thermopylae, meaning to pass north. However, the pass was inhabited by a group of armed bandits, led by a Nephilim named Kadeja. Upon meeting with us, Kasdeja psychically commanded all his men to kill themselves and insisted on traveling with us, demanding that we take him to Eden. Also nearby, we met Dara, while at the same time Rue and Jean left the group, Jean taking the Swords with her.

Next, we came to the ruins of Phillipi, where we met a deranged priest who had crucified hundreds of Dybbuk and was performing experiments on them. We also met Innon, a soul who had escaped from Sheol, on one of the crosses. Kasdeja eventually ripped out the priest's heart, but the priest kept himself alive through his Theurgy and began fighting us. Eventually, Lev/Na'lsa reached a new level of demonic evolution and began to consume the priest's soul. Innon ended the fight once he found his Perdition Flamethrower, killing the priest, and nearly killing Na'lsa. Sadly, Innon did not join the party. (player dropped out of the game)

So, after that, we crossed out into the Aegean and came to Thasos (apparently APCs can traverse water...) On the isle, we've found a strange cult who worships Metatron the Synthronos, the greatest of the angels. There, we met the hybrid creature Asasiah, an experimental weapon created by Metatron combining the souls of the Archangel Uriel and the Demon Prince Amaymon into a single human form. She is uncontrollable and unpredictable, but when a massive psychic tremor rocks the island, she goes with the group to investigate.

Inside the ruins of an ancient Basilica, we found the body of Kasdeja devastated, his skull split open by a massive psychic assault. In the center of ruined church is an Emim, a wraith from Sheol, and an incredibly powerful one at that: Cain, the First Murderer.

A terrible battle ensures in which Michael is killed during the psychic storm that Cain summons, hurling chunks of broken marble about in a cyclone. Eventually, Asasiah allows Amaymon to control her and summons the demon Ashmodai to distract Cain. Cain slaughters Ashmodai, but is left vulnerable to an assault from Na'lsa, who somehow binds his unholy flesh to the spirit and renders him corporeal.

What ensures can only be described as a feast, as Na'lsa, Asasiah, and Shealtiel proceed to devour the wraith, "flesh" and soul. Afterward, Na'lsa is reincarnated as a chimeric version of Lev, Asasiah falls into some kind of coma, and Shealtiel has disappeared, his body reduced to dust by the force of absorbing Cain's soul. No one knows what has become of him.

So, traumatized by the violence and vileness of what they've just encountered, the group gets back to the APC and leaves the island, setting across the Aegean Sea to the coast of Anatolia to finally arrive in the relative safety of the Seven Churches.

For character relationships and such as of right now, basically:

Feenai can't even digest what she's been through yet, she's just going along in kind of a state of shell shock.

Dante hates Na'lsa and they've fought numerous times already. He's protective of Feenai and grudgingly trusts Shealtiel.

Na'lsa is, as mentioned, quite unhinged. he respects Shealtiel the most for his knowledge of the other worlds. He sees Dante as weak, and considers the others part of his "flock".

Shealtiel is sort of the Gandalf of the group, though if Gandalf was a crotchety, condescending, nihilistic grouch. He finds Na'lsa fascinating, pities Feenai, respects Michael, and thinks Dante has more potential than he gives himself credit for and tries to bring that out in him (usually through belittling him... but he means well!) Shealtiel also values his life very little, being so intimately connected to Sheol. He's very willing to risk his life to save the others when it comes down to it, and can be downright reckless.

Dara is rather enigmatic, both due to her nature/personality, but also because she hasn't been with the group long. She hasn't formed any close ties to any of the group yet, and is very much a drifter.

And... I believe that's it for now. Those are all the active characters. As you can see, Na'lsa is sort of the driving force behind the group, we're all kind of swept up in his madness for various reasons, though it's also the convenience of safety in numbers, too.

Quiet Man Cometh 01-14-2013 04:26 PM

I'll -ah- read that later.

Espy, "Na'lsa bullets" was going to my attempt to fight Cain but Dara didn't get there fast enough. She's only got her rifle going for attack power (but I jacked Michael's artificer pistol thing. Let's see what happens when someone not trained tries to use it) so I figured she's try one shot, then, seeing as Na'lsa had small bits of himself here and there, was going to shove some bone bits into the gun and use those. Probably just as well. I'm sure the rifle wouldn't have like it any.

Not sure what to do with Dara in terms of powering up. She's supposed to be reasonably normal, angelic weirdness aside. Bigger gun?

Suzerain of Sheol 01-14-2013 04:41 PM

There are, certainly, "bigger guns" available in Thyat'ria. :P

Espy 01-16-2013 01:38 AM

Hm, new characters gives me a reason to draw of them...again. On a maybe-related note, what animals best symbolize our characters?

Arikana 01-16-2013 02:23 AM

Question: Um, so how many items am I allowed?

Also, another question: How strong should I make my character? :o

Suzerain of Sheol 01-16-2013 10:27 AM

There's no hard and fast rule. Asasiah was crazy powerful when she joined, possibly too powerful, but I have no shortage of horrible creatures to challenge anything short of God himself. :P

And items are just an aspect of the character's power. Mine doesn't use any, I just gave him stronger powers to compensate.

As it stands, Dante, Fee, and Dara are sort of still in the "mortal" tier as far as power goes, while Na'lsa and Shealtiel have a huge suite of supernatural powers to draw on -- Na'lsa's seem to involve more being absolutely impossible to destroy and consuming single targets for his own benefit, while Shealtiel's powers are more offensive and destructive in nature.

So, somewhere in-between there would be a good ballpark, I suppose.

John Carpenter's 'The Thing'.

Or Kirby. Same thing, really. I choose Kirby.
