I always thought houses were supposed to have mudrooms.
Every house I've been to in Minnesota had a mudroom D:

In Portland the country houses had mud rooms but not in the city for the most part. In Idaho some houses have mudrooms and, some like mine have a laundry room strip that’s also a mud room and some houses just have a 4x4 square of tile on the floor inside each door

I didn't realize those were a thing until recently. Surprised at how common they are in some areas.

littl3chocobo 09-25-2019 11:22 PM

so what is a mud room? my motherinlaw has mentioned them before but i am super confused

Ava 09-26-2019 12:51 AM

A mudroom is like.. a room where you put all of your heavy winter stuff.
My parents had one in our house and it was like, a room that you walked into first, there was a closet and there was a little built-n seat/storage box where you places wet boots.

I've seen some mudrooms with cubbies instead of closets.
My best friend had a house with cubbies in the mudroom.

I don't think I've ever seen a house without one until I moved here.

wanders into here, glances at the differences between houses built in different areas that serve functions that are primarily suited to that area, notes it for useless trivia and buggers off again.

we don't really have a mudroom, per se, as our front entryway is linoleum, and the laundry room is right off the garage...

Glitch 09-26-2019 10:56 PM

Plz help me not be so socially awkward

Biomecha 09-26-2019 10:58 PM

I think we all lost the rule book.

Glitch 09-26-2019 11:32 PM

Alas.

That’s how it is.

littl3chocobo 09-27-2019 03:56 AM

i can help but you'll be socially unpleasant instead

Mekatra 09-27-2019 09:10 AM

I think the only way to be less socially awkward is to fake it. Like, watch people that are socially adept and steal their souls...err secrets... to emulate them.

Stabbsworth 09-27-2019 10:05 AM

i am constantly nervous about how i act in general because of the potential of being cancelled for fucking up. please for the love of god call me out if i fuck up, i likely haven't noticed shit because i'm terribad at catching myself if i fuck up.

Glitch 09-27-2019 11:34 AM

I get overly enthusiastic!!!! And people think I’m weird or clingy or I don’t even.

Anyway!!! It’s gonna be a cold weekend! I’m excited >w<
