@ Espy: Eh, understandable. :/ Most of his stories involve either madness, cosmic horrors, resurrection of the dead, and some combination of all those. Somewhat old and racist language sometimes used. 8/ Dagon is the first one I read about some dude who encountered a fish god returning to the ancient place of his worshippers. :}
@ DbM: I am many things. Smol. Weird. Foolish. :] Sure. But expressive...? |
Lovecraft was racist and even made up his own race (of Fish-people) to be racist against.... but i still love the guy's stories!! (pretty sure i have all of them in some volume or other)
|
Out of curiousity, did you take a couple hundred pictures on Halloween to have one for every occasion, or were you putting your makeup back on just for me? XD
|
we need merskelly emojis!! Best faces in the business
|
Oooo, Merskelley!
I need a cookie!! And I've never read any of H.P. Lovecraft's stories because I am easily freaked out. I had an improv teacher who would host Lovecraft inspired shows and he said his wife went to one and was so disturbed that she said she'd never go again... and she didn't sleep well for like a week afterwards lol |

"Brandy"?
From GoTG Vol. 2??? I loved that song! As far as nautical goes, I'd recommend "Sailor Song" by Regina Spektor Maybe also "General Taylor" (a sea shanty) ... I can't remember who the artist is, though :( |

Eeesh!
I scare easily. But jumpscares are bad, but to me, that psychological horror... the stuff that messes with your mind and makes you think about the twisted-ness of it... Those are the WORST! Psychological stuff is so much creepier! I HATE black and white movies because they automatically have a "creepiness" to them due to the lack of color, IMHO |
i completely agree that psychological horror is creepy and scary and that's why i like that better than the bloody slasher flicks.
and i LOVE b&W movies :) |
Well, that's because you're young.
Trivia: You may have heard people talk about whether they dream in color or black-and-white. Turns out, not dreaming in color was something that was only common among people who grew up watching black-and-white TV. So yeah, without having a lot of exposure to black-and-white media to normalize it for you, it's no surprise that it would come off feeling unnatural. And yeah, I hear you about psychological horror being worse than other kinds. Getting a scary thought in your head that makes you reinterpret your own experience... not pleasant. |

and i have no idea if my dreams are b&w or color.... i don't usually remember them beyond impressions of "i had a weird dream..." XD |
Yeah, I was talking to Ava. If I had seen your post in between I would have used a quote to make it unambiguous. And yeah, it was about not liking black-and-white movies.
But you're young at heart, at least! ;) I've had dreams with the color being super washed out but I don't know if I've ever had one fully in black-and-white. Knowing what I know about B/W TV, this might be the result of the old worn-out TV I had as a kid. The color has been a lot more vivid (sometimes even unrealistically so) in what little I can remember in recent history. |

Ahhwh! Well, <w< I try.
@ Espy: Does [~Sailor said "Brandy. You're a fine girl." You're a fiiine girl! "What a good wife you would be." Sucha fiiine girl! "But my life, my love and my lady, is the sea!" Do do n' do do da do do n' do do!~] ring any bells? |
Merskelley, I bet anyone doing the KonMari Method would have you in the keep pile because you spark joy.
|
>w>;...I'm ashamed to say I had to look that up, hehe.
But awh! <U< Tis' a grand compliment Bio, thank you! ^-^ What I lack in usefulness and competence I suppose I make up for in joy-points. <x} |
Unfortunately, that... does not ring any bells.
|
Well then here you go: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVx8L7a3MuE
|
Many, many joy points. Oh hey by the way, HOW'S YOUR WRITING GOING SO FAR?
(yup, totally not trying to coax even more reaction pics from you... xD) |
Well, sh*t now that you reminded me, o_o I totally forgot to post something for Nov 2nd!

(the show - not living in a episode of it though) |
<x} It's such a great classic series isn't it? If I could study it in more depth I would!
|
yaay Ravenclaw!!
|
Yess! ^-^ Ravenclaws unite!
|
most of the time i've done a sorting hat quiz, i generally get Ravenclaw. more recently, i got a bit of hufflepuff in there. huh.
|
Ravenclaw with a bit of Hufflepuff is about where I usually end up, too.
|
hmm, Ravenpuff or Huffleclaw? *wonders what the difference really is*
|
As a teenager, most quizzes sorted me into Ravenclaw. But Pottermore put me in Slytherin, and that does make more sense. So, a snek I am.
|
my younger daughter tweaked it so it would put her in Ravenclaw. in my mind, that makes her a Slytherin ;)
|
I've all the time gotten Ravenclaw. <x} I can't get anything else..but my brother is all over the place, having gotten every house result unintentionally on separate occasions. <x} So he just settled on Hufflepuff, and is a somewhat proud Hufflepuff. :} He embodies the typical lax and flexible friendliness and loyalty, as well as his love of crafting and trying recipes for food. ^_^ He is sweet babby boi.
I am not-so-sweet, reclusive birb. <v<; |
I’m a Capricorn Slytherin, and you’d think that means I’m super ambitious and work hard towards all my goals, but in reality, it’s more... if you touch a single hair on a friend’s head, I will fucking end you and all you stand for.
|
so i'm Ravenclaw, and if we call my younger daughter Slytherin... my older daughter is Hufflepuff.
we got their dad/my hubby to take a sorting hat quiz, and he only knows like two things about about Harry Potter... he's a Gryffindor XD |
<x} My dad is possibly the same type of Slytherin Espy, hehe. He's also the one Slytherin who has survival packs, crisis prevention tricks, back up plans for his back up plans, and of course emergency self-defense/survival weaponry. >U> He'd def be a defense against the dark arts, dark arts user..also he loves satire humor and manipulative exercises. <x} Like getting me to do a task with an incentive that may or may not be guaranteed to end in reward.
Mum is half and half between Slytherin and Gryffindor. >u> She says schemey and shrewd sh*t a lot of the time, with or without any intention of doing the thing..and she likes messing with people. But she wants to be the good guy, and is really warm, fearless, adventurous and extroverted, so also Gryffindor. ^-^; |
I used to be more Slytherin, but my ambition has faded with age, to be replaced by Hufflepuff tenacity.
Always secondary to Ravenclaw pursuit of knowledge, though. |

I'm a Ravenclaw too!
:D I made a post on IG a couple of months ago when I was invited to AT&T SHAPE event and they hosted a panel on Wizards Unite and I made a little "story" (I think? I don't know how IG works half the time ;u;) And it said, "RAVENCLAW UNITE" |
