I feel so accomplished today! Made and cut out a pattern to use for making skirts for Derpy (woo, destroy those gender stereotypes for stuffed animals!) and have done many rows on my mermaid blanket and am now on color 3 of 5. Not sure how much I like it, but it's too late to back out now...

It's actually not really very complicated. Just time consuming with all the back and forth on the rows. About half done with the decreases and then I think it's just the fin and it'll be done.

The reds are actually burgundy and a deep berry red. And the orange is a bit darker.

Most likely using Roll20 for dice rolls, and it will be text based (for simplicity's sake so people who miss one session can jump back in and see what happened... plus it would allow me to run it more independently from everyone's schedule. Which actually means I don't have to get up at 4am, so huge win)

Any particular preference for rulebook/system? What do you all want to focus on (exploration, roleplay, fights, ...)?

I'm honestly not much of a Play by Post person. ;w; So I might sit this one out. However 5E has a fairly easy to use and home-brew play style, and if you don't have access to books the Fandom Wiki has all of the info you need, and it's up to date.

Middle Finger of Vecna has some homebrew material, and so does D&D beyond, but you might want to look though that stuff because some of it is either hilariously under powered, or grossly over powered. Roll 20 has free assets too, so if you need to, say, build maps or something you can.

Death: I'll be honest, I don't have any rl friends who do tabletop rpg. I don't actually have many rl friends....so other than a couple brief attempts to join games at college, I pretty much have zero knowledge of any and all actual games/rule books. So I'm sure anything is fine. As for game focus? Same. I have no clue.

Zil: Unfortunately, I haven't had much need to use it as my apartment gets almost too hot in the winter, but I recall it being pretty nice and warm.

played some don't starve together, thought i joined a marginally decent server, got called a noob for not doing anything in summer when i don't want to inconvenience anyone by taking a thermal stone and not being able to do much because of the overheating problem, then they said that they don't want 'noobs' in their server. elitism like that is why i don't bother w/ multiplayer games most of the time, but then i get lonely lmao. ppl also told me to look up a guide when i'd rather not spoil myself and get into all the mechanics on day 2 of playing the game in the first place, but apparently it's not enough for someone to want to enjoy the game without having to search up a guide.

i really should get back into MMOs, but. i can't really be arsed. the only games i'm currently interested in is don't starve together & binding of isaac afterbirth plus.

i've also heard that Journey's planning to be released on the PC, so i can't wait for that, but apparently Epic Games is working on that, so. chances are i'll have to figure out a way to boot it through their launcher if they're not releasing it on steam?

the only reason i managed to get fortnite on the pc is via linking it with the ps4 version, so. that's gonna be fun.

Alright, give me a few days to set something up. If it goes well I might even consider a play by voice game, but don't quote me on it (as in, there's a slight but also realistic chance I'm too lazy to do two campaigns). Basically I'm just a sucker for good stories, and unfortunately my rl friends are into different stuff as well.

I'm thinking of opening a hangout specifically for D&D, or putting something in Media for it, maybe with recs to podcasts for ppl like me who need more D&D in their lives than what's probably necessary. Because playing a few days a week is obvs not enough for me.

Yesterday my Drow was bickering with our group how touching hot things isn't a smart Idea. The context was we found a red egg that was warm to the touch, and my Drow had picked it up, and was carrying it.

Our rouge thought it was a bad idea, but he's also got a bad habit of touching things that wind up getting him cursed.

My stupid Drow heard him mention:

"Just because it's hot and makes you feel warm doesn't mean you should take it.'

My dumb loser idiot Drow is crushing hard on our Clieric, a Yuan Ti Pureblood named Marlua. So naturally she replies to our rouge:

"Marlua's hot and makes me feel warm and I touch her all the time!"

That's just on instance.

All of this while being chased by a gang that consists of what I think would happen and Jevil and Cicero had like a lot of babies, while we chased a cult of people who like my character have a Draconic bloodline and want to summon Tiamat and take over the world, and navigating a sentient remnant of the feywilds in the form of a catacombs that can change its layout. We had a map but it was ten minutes behind the labyrinth's shifting, but it was useful.

One time our rouge bought a cursed doll, and tried to prank our cleric with it...and we all tried attacking the doll because it SPOKE AND DID NECROTIC DAMAGE.

D&D is serious business.

Finally managed to buy elastic for skirts making! Now just gotta find time to make skirts...

Update: Gonna try to wash the fabric for my skirt tomorrow. And also clean up the apartment some because it's a disaster and I want to get it looking decent again. I wanna be able to rearrange some so I have more room for crafts. Easier to do that without piles of books and VHS tapes and mpuntains of clothes, half of which I haven't worn in over a year. Need to work on minimizing my wardrobe and general clutter.

That's a great way to live though, sleep just keeps you from progress, hahaha. I spent day and night playing Dragon Age and giving myself carpal tunnel several times but kept going on with things and now, that was a huge mistake. I could have seriously hurt my arms and hands but thankfully I didn't, they still function as normal, ahhhh I got so lucky!!!!

Woohoo! Unless my boss had to change it, I think I actually get a full 2 days off in a row this weekend! Hopefully that means I will get some housework done one day so I can do some crafting and baking (with a cute Derpy photoshoot) on the other day!

One of them spent ahlf the adventure as a bush because he's a weenie and our Centaur barbarian got salty at one point because he went into fights some wolves, and our Warlock charmed him and convinced him not to before throwing rations to them.

It was so funny. They also killed my widrdo homebrew monster BECAUSE I KEPT ROLLING NAT 1s and adopted his only living child.

...gonna need to buy cocoa for that...but I like that idea.
Might also attempt some dangerous multitasking and make a small batch of cookies while cleaning. After the kitchen gets cleaned up some. (I mean, really just need to wash a couple spoons and my baking sheet for the most part...and maybe clear off and wipe down my small table so I can take some cute pictures also...

Mmmmm baking! I need to clean my kitchen this weekend too, I have a ham to make and other stuffs to cook for a pre-Christmas dinner.

Have legitimately scanned through like 50+ assorted articles on de-cluttering, clever storage and furniture arranging tips for small places (because the total square footage of my apartment is only around 550-600 if my math is right, and that's divided between living room, bedroom, tiny kitchen, tiny bathroom, and a decent closet), but I've lived here for around 6 or 7 years and I kind of want it to start actually feeling like home and not just the place where I sleep.
Starts with a thorough cleaning and de-cluttering (possibly even getting rid of some of my bulkier furniture items and electronics). Then I'll have to asses what look I want and figure out what storage and furniture items I really want/need. This will be the hard part as I am totally clueless with furniture arranging and interior decorating. XP And also because some things (like painting) are not allowed, so I can't do much with certain aspects and areas.

Send me a link to some of those articles, our apartment's not the biggest and I'd love to help this place feel better!

Er...uh...I didn't actually save any of the links. I just googled stuff like "how to de-clutter" and "how to arrange furniture in a tiny apartment" and then just followed links within some of the resulting articles (mainly from thespruce.com) to other similar articles.
And took screenshots of the ikea storage stuff that I like but might not be able to buy as the nearest ikea store is 2 states away, minumum.

Oof, there's an Ikea near me but it's hella expensive. <n<

A lot of the storage stuff they were suggesting in the articles was generally in the $25-50 range. It was fairly simple and plain items that could easily be customized with paint or washi tape. So...that appealed to me. If I can buy the stuff online and have it shipped, I might consider that option once I determine my actual storage wants and needs.
They also had a couple of really simple makeshift bike rack (for hanging your bike on the wall to free up floor space I guess?) ideas that I liked and might utilize.

I'll shop around the Ikea site lmao. I tend to look at the nice things and not teh stuff that's simple and customizable.
