Twigg - Yes owo I'm writing books...

<w< I have a feeling I'm going to now be explaining them to everyone...

Yes, please do! I want to hear more about your books! >w<
Though I'll probably check 'em out once they get out on the bookshelves. :3 You going to use your real name or a pen name?

Silly Arikana. It's not blackmail if you *tell* people, relevant parties aside. ;)

B-b-b-but I like knowing! >w< And I can keep a secret! Seriously, I swear I can. *nodnod*

*knows lots of secrets that I haven't told anyone*

O RLY NOW?!

*goes off to do some digging on Lucid* :ninja:

Quiet Man Cometh 10-22-2012 01:10 PM

Minions!

why is there no bat to hang upside-down from a belt or something?

Arikana 10-22-2012 01:10 PM

Why have you cluttered your avatar with animals, Quiet? owo

Quiet Man Cometh 10-22-2012 01:14 PM

Because they are minions! And I'm trying to make them all fit. Some needs more layering options and we might need to design others to fill different spaces. ;)

Alpha 10-22-2012 01:16 PM

Quiet...I think the pixeling team already has quite a lot on its plate.......as does Galla......

Arikana 10-22-2012 01:18 PM

Lol, you're so silly Quiet. XD But I'm sure the pixeling and design team will eventually get to it. But there are probably more urgent stuff to work on first. XP

Quiet Man Cometh 10-22-2012 01:18 PM

Just suggestions. :P.

And it's not like I'm going to make a habit of this. At least, I don't think so. Not until I can gather a few more like foot lizard from inventor's dream. ;)

Arikana 10-22-2012 01:19 PM

That possibly won't happen anytime soon. :P

Quiet Man Cometh 10-22-2012 01:22 PM

Nope, likely not.

This whole animal swarm business has been entirely amusing though. :)

Alpha 10-22-2012 01:25 PM

Oh, I realize Quiet...just stating the obvious...I guess....*is tired*

Arikana 10-22-2012 01:31 PM

I wonder when we'll get our next animal item... You have made me curious regarding this topic, Quiet! >w>

And if you're tired, Alpha, then sleep? owo

Alpha 10-22-2012 01:33 PM

Wish I could, classes then work. I'm waking up....caffeine is helping some....as is sugar.

Quiet Man Cometh 10-22-2012 01:53 PM

Got up at 4am after napping on the couch since 9pm. I'm trying to stay awake.

Arikana 10-22-2012 02:57 PM

I don't think sugar really helps with staying awake, at least it's never done so for me ever. It's always been quick energy spikes with immediate sugar crashes to follow. But my body would always somehow manage to fight off the crashes. owo

I slept at 0330-0400 and woke up at 0730. Still have yet to sleep since. I'm so gonna sleep like a baby tonight. >w<

Coda 10-22-2012 09:53 PM

Sugar combined with protein will pick you up and then level you out, with caffeine adding some alertness to that. Sugar and caffeine alone will only give a short-term boost.

Ashy 10-22-2012 09:56 PM

something low gi will give you slow burning energy for longer periods, like milo :o

Natsunaine 10-22-2012 09:59 PM

i retract my statement, i thought it was something that was part of an event some user sent to me and a few others a poem, it still might be.. but.. i also notice some from february so it makes me think its just a poem..

Very handy information. I like. :D

Coda 10-22-2012 11:02 PM

Complex carbohydrates (long-chain starches like pasta and most rising breads) provide long-term energy support as well but they also take considerably longer to kick in than proteins.

Fats are somewhere between sugars and proteins. They're INCREDIBLY high in energy (over twice as much energy density -- that's why the body stores excess calories as fat) and it's not as quickly released as sugars. The body also prefers metabolizing fats over proteins, preferring to use proteins (in amino acid form) as cellular building blocks. It works best when balanced correctly with proteins, but fortunately most protein-rich snacks are also pretty high in fats.

Nexess 10-22-2012 11:07 PM

Coda, you're going to have to explain to me why you're not a teacher.

Ari - I actually don't know what I'm going to put them under as of yet. None of them are even completed yet...

EDIT: Yes, just go with what Lucid said about the black mail :P

Coda 10-22-2012 11:15 PM

Because my passion is writing code. ^^() I've actually considered teaching from time to time, but overall it doesn't sound like something I'd find to be a satisfying career choice.

I DO, on the other hand, tutor from time to time.

Arikana 10-22-2012 11:28 PM

Woah, Coda knows so much. owo

@Nexy: Ah, I see, I see.
Well when they are out, could I get an autographed copy? >w>;;

B-b-but, that's just Lucid! What about your dirt on everyone else!? >w<

Coda 10-22-2012 11:35 PM

Coda actually had to look up some of that -- common wisdom says protein is longer-lasting energy than sugar, which is what I said, but when I looked it up I found that it's mostly the fats in the protein-rich snacks that does the trick; the protein mostly helps your body recover afterward.

Alpha 10-22-2012 11:42 PM

*pokes Coda* Good information to know. Danke Coda!

I think you'd make a pretty good teacher, you teach us new things all the time, you also do it in a way people will understand.

Ari - >w> Yep.

Alpha - If they ever get out than yes.

Coda 10-23-2012 12:30 AM

I've had people tell me that, but as a writer you surely understand having a drive to create something with your own skill. The same is true for me with software.

Alpha 10-23-2012 12:39 AM

I can understand that Coda....

*curls up in thread* So....any random/interesting facts anyone wants to share?

Nexess 10-23-2012 01:03 AM

I do understand that, very well as a matter a fact. I've started six books now.

Alpha - What would you like to know?

Evidenced by the fact that I was told to eat 8 servings of protein a day following my transplant surgery.

Ashy 10-23-2012 04:44 AM

ill pay coda to tutor me >.>

Alpha 10-23-2012 08:17 AM

Nexy: Anything you care to share really....

Ashy: Now why do you need Coda's tutoring?

Quiet has had surgery before? owo

Nexess 10-23-2012 04:19 PM

Ashy doesn't need a tutor >w> She's redic smart as it is.

Alpha - owo I want to say I'm a magical pony, just cause I don't know what to tell you...

Alpha 10-23-2012 07:34 PM

Umm...well, doesn't surprise me since you are Gall's lab partner.

Nexess 10-23-2012 07:42 PM

<w< Makes perfect sense when you look at it that way.

Ashy 10-23-2012 08:06 PM

Nexy is queen of the magic ponies :o

Arikana 10-23-2012 08:07 PM

What colour magical pony are you, Nexy? :0

Nexess 10-23-2012 08:12 PM

<w< I am the purple pony, also Queen of the magical ponies.

Ashy - Yes, yes I am.

Arikana 10-23-2012 08:33 PM

owo

REALLY?!? The purple pony? Why purple? D:
Green is a totally much better colour... :P

Nexess 10-23-2012 08:38 PM

:| Purple is the colour of royalty...
