I like green because I think it's pretty. :P |
green is the most disgusting of all colours, and isnt blue the colour of royalty?
Q: What's everyone's favourite colour? |
Historically purple was the color of royalty....hence why the dye was so coveted.
Hmm....have to say my favorite color is blue. |

I've never had any... *feels really thankful for that* Besides, if I did have surgeries I'd be that really weird patient that would want to see myself in surgery. >w>; Quote:
I don't know if your question was directed at fellow staff or all users, but my favourite colour is green. :D <3 |
Well.... Ashy is an Aussie so her thoughts might be different from ours on the color Blue vs Purple for us

Lucid doesn't have a favorite, because she thinks all the others would feel bad if she picked just one. :x
I've had two surgeries, both on my toenails. The first time, I had to get ingrown toenails removed on both my big toes. they cut off a sliver of the toenail and put stuff on the nailbed to kill the nail in that section so it wouldn't grow back. One toe recovered just fine, the other nailbed was damaged somehow and the toenail fell off a few years later. It grew back in yellow, flaky layers so I had a second surgery to have that nail completely and permanently removed. So I only have 9 toenails. :D Getting needles stuck in your toes really hurts though. When the doctor pulled out the needle during my second surgery, I almost cried and ran away because it was so painful the first time around. Getting the nail off was important to me though, so I was a big girl and stuck it out! *^* |
ulti is not blue right now....
|
Holy....they aren't blue, that's so strange....
Lucid: I know the feeling.....had ingrown toenails removed three times and need to get another removed....I hate that needle that they use...*hisses* |

My favorite color is green. :) ...Though I tend to use blue a lot more than in choosing the colors of things. |
That's right....my bad. I knew those two were connected, just couldn't remember the order. Danke Toho!
|
Yeah, this is one of my creepy Halloween avatars, so it's not blue XDD I swear, come November I will be blue-r than Toho 0n0

*goes to look up what ingrown toenails look like* D: That looks really painful to have. D: How do doctors even fix ingrown toenails with needles? owo |

Yikes! That really sucks. D: |
>.>; I dig my own out. *sweatdrop*
|
They use the needle to inject a local anesthetic and then, depending on the doctor, they either use a specialized pair of "scissors" to cut it out or some other instrument......
|
The needle part sounds fairy enjoyable, but the rest does sound quite painful. D:
How do you do it on your own, Coda? owo And where do you get your anaesthesia from? >w> |
If the nail isn't too dug in, it's not too hard to dig it out with some tweezers and nail clippers. In fact, my dad did that for me a few times before we finally had to get it professionally removed.
|
Tweezers and nail clippers is exactly how I do it. I just try to keep them under control (which means digging them out every month or so) so I don't have to get surgery (because heck no I can't afford that).
|
I tend to keep the one I still have under control like that....except I use a pair of mini-scissors on my multi-tool plus the plies to make sure I can pull it out. It sucks, but feels much better afterwards.
|
Oh, that doesn't sound too bad if they're not that deep.
I wonder if the surgery would be covered by OHIP here in Ontario... :ninja: |
I've used a pair of needle-nose pliers before for when the nail is too tough for tweezers to get a good grip on. Yeah, it hurts, but it does feel better afterward.
|
Ari: It really isn't too bad as long as it isn't deep....even if it is deep, it can at least give a bit of relief so long as you can most of it out.
So how are the staffers today? Busy? |
Hm... Interesting. Very interesting stuff to know...
|

and ive had one nail get the sliver cut out, now i just cut out the ingrown toenail myself though same as coda |
i think that i should also add that just ripping the section off actually will make it grow back again, if you cut a little triangle around it you wont have any problems for a while. its one of the things my mum taught me from her nursing years :P
|
I cut it out and then pull it out. Works for a while....
|
Oh, do local anesthetics count as surgery too? Oh dear...
Had the toenail thing too. Freezing in toe, snip down toe with nasty scissors, yank offending piece out. In my case part of the nail had torn and was curled inward and proceeding to shred my toe as it grew. Now I just don't cut my nails so short anymore. Haven't had an issue since. My favourite colour is usually blue, to be simple about it. Usually a royal or dark blue. I tend to towards blues, greens, purples, and cool reds. Not terribly busy. Was up to staffy things yesterday, now it's school things. |
Quiet's so busy. owo
What sort of school stuff do you have to do? :0 |
Right now I'm reading on front, back, and body matter for printing books and manuals, along with binding. Later it's actual printing and colour systems, then I need to take text and images provided to me and make a manual out of them. It's a course on design for technical writing. I like this one so far. The next one is on indexing. Not really looking forward to that one. It starts in early November. Fortunately, my laptop has returned from being sent out for diagnostics and such so I hopefully have my good software back. The computer I'm using right now only has open office and paint, which aren't the best for my work right now.
|
Yay for Quiet then! She gets her good programs again.
So, I am a bit curious.....question for the staffers. Do you have a favorite video game (or series)? If so, what is it (are they)? |
