Its normal too do so. But I personally agree that its sort.of a waste of money. I'd rather make my memories myself, not effectively buy them.

It's just like, why do you need to spend a tonne of money for one day?
It's meant to be the happiest day of your life, like, seriously. How can you say it is and then smother it in overpriced flowers, food, multiple venues and a horrific dress.
I just don't get it, marriage is about love not wealth.

Well, it is the union itself that's more important. How the marriage is formally legalized, matters not. All that matters is that the two parties involved truly, unconditionally love one another and wish to be together.
