Rem: I live in Salisbury, it's a small place near to Landis, which looks like something straight out of the Andy Griffith Show. It's not a very modern looking place but it's charming.

bagel; That's the way it goes with foreigners much of the time anyhow. They learn the language formally, so once they do indeed learn it, they're already more proper with it than natives who never really had the need. Pffs.

But some of use foreigners find ourselves turning into natives and picking up their slang anyway, despite our best efforts not to.

Ten years in NC with my American father now retired from the military and frequently at home.....it was only a matter of time before I started saying "Ain't" and "Ya'll"
