Arden rubbed his temples as he listened to the vampire. "Well, probably because it has something to do with Gabriel. The male werewolf version of Lilith basically. He turned a hunter yesterday and killed the guy's family. But Isaac wanted to kill him against my wishes." Alice placed her hand on his lap and dug her nails into his leg as she smiled warmly. "Dear, they are going to have children, he can't deal with a fledgling while his lovely mate is pregnant." She released his leg. "Excuse him, he can be a brute sometimes." She told them. "We suspect that Gabriel is wanting to start a war between us and the vampires. We are just speculating of course but we really do not want war on our hands. The treaty between our species can only do so much. And if he kills one of your kind, I see war coming. Our relationship with you vampires isn't a good one, especially after Lilith. But if you want to prevent war, we need to deal with Gabriel. Maybe our species can even form a friendship over time. After all, we both need to keep our existence a secret from humans. It's better to work together than it is to work against one another."
Faye nodded in understanding. Alright, fine. I forgive you. But next time, please don't keep something like that a secret from me ok? What if they were going to attack later, I could have been prepared for it. She pointed out. But you know what, I'm having more control over how much I drink now. I think being an Eve is really helping me with that! |
Isaac smiles mentally, sending his love to Faye, I've noticed. I didn't even have to ask you to stop, you did so on your own. I suspect that is the case, so probably in a month or two we'll both be able to shift at will. Well, when you're not with child that is, but I'll be able to spend time with you in wolf form. He wasn't going to correct Arden that Isaac wanted the body burned so that Lucien's soul could be with his family, he had killed Lucien only because he would be a danger to Isaac and Faye along with the pack since he still couldn't guarantee that the hunters wouldn't go to his home.
Roselle puts her hands together as she thinks for a moment, "There might be a few vampires willing to take part in aiding you in hunting down this werewolf, since he seems to be an issue for your people as well. They would probably be willing if it means preventing a war from breaking out, man of them are very content with their lives. Give me a moment, since we've established blood bonds in my clan I can ask for some of them to met here. And even as grim this sounds, having some vampires helping you may help to draw out this werewolf. My...powers may even come in handy, since they are a bit different from the normal powers a vampire has. But I'll need to having something to draw with and draw on...I'll go speak with the vampires who would be interested in helping while I get the tools I need, I'll bring them here. Unless you'd rather we meet up else where?" |
Arden shook his head. "No, here is perfect since my pack doesn't know of this place. Not many travel to the borders of my territory because they know how dangerous it could get. But only bring those you absolutely can trust because I do not want my pack to be an all you can eat buffet for your kind. Unlike my mate, I do not wish to be friends with your kind. We can co-exist but be buddy buddy is not something I'm interested in." Arden stated.
"Maybe we can even get witches to help also. It will be for a price but, at least they will be willing to help." Alice suggested. What do you think about all of this? Where would we fit in Arden? You, me and my brother, and our child or children, we will all be different. Vampires wouldn't' want us because we are werewolves, and werewolves wouldn't want us because we are vampires. Faye felt his love, she nuzzled her head into him. I would love it when you're able to turn at will. I'm just glad that we communicate in some way. |
Roselle raises a brow but doesn't say anything, "As for the witches, just mention doing so would help to prevent another war breaking out between werewolves and vampires and they will probably less likely to want a fee. After all people did go hunting down a lot of beings like us, witches included and probably suffered the most because even though they have powers we don't posses, they also don't heal like us." With that she stands and leaves, quickly making her way back to town. Leaning back into the chair Isaac sighs, rubbing the bridge of his nose.
I honestly don't know, it will probably be a huge struggle to fit in, what with how the races act towards one another. I was never a part of the war, so I don't have the same feelings as some of those that lived during that time. I just hope that they will at least tolerate us enough to leave us in peace. Roselle returns less than an hour later with four other vampires with her, three males and a female. In her hand is a sketch book and a container with charcoal. She approaches Arden and the others, bowing her head slightly, "There were at least a few interested in helping, they are a bit younger, but the older ones thought it would be beneath them to help sadly. I've also got my tools that I need." Raising a brow Isaac doesn't understand how a sketch book and charcoal is going to help her fight against Gabriel. He also notices a small silver knife strapped to her wrist, which means she didn't know about his immunity to silver. Isaac fidgets nervously, not sure how the alphas of the other pack were going to react to all of this. He was hoping they would be more like Alice, but he fears they will treat him and Faye far worse than some of the packs members. He had already did the bite exchange with Arden, he had nothing better to do then make sure he was able to speak with him during the hunt while waiting anyways. |
Alice nodded but, even if helping them would benefit the witches, they never do anything for free. Someone had to pay the price. "That is true. But I don't know if they will think of it like that or want us to pay a fee still. Humans have a history of hunting them as well." She let out a sigh. "We will just have to see what they say, and if there is a price, I will be the one to pay it, it was my idea after all." She said.Arden raised an eyebrow and grabbed her hand. "No, I will. I will not allow anything happen to you." He moved closer to her ear. "I don't want anything to happen to you, I love you." He told her as he stared into her eyes. Patting his cheek, she smiled and wanted to kiss him but that would have been too inappropriate at the moment.
Looking over at the two, Alice smiled. "You two, when the other alphas come, you will need to treat me and Arden as your superiors. You will need to call us Alpha and Luna since you're in the pack. It will show too much disrespect for you two to call us by our names. Well, actually we will only need to worry about you Isaac." She explained. "They will most likely find out that the two of you are half and half but since you pledge your allegiance to us, it shouldn't cause too much trouble since you two are tamed. That's better than being a lone packless wolf." She explained. lice and Arden both noticed the silver that Roselle was carrying. They could feel their skin crawl just being around it, Alice more so than Arden. "What exactly do you plan to do with that silver that you have? You don't need it right now so I will respectfully ask that you put it up, away from us." She requested as her eyes turned a golden as they were fixated on her wrist. Yeah, but at least we have Alice and Arden on our side you know? That's better than having no one. Faye tried her best to comfort Isaac as he sensed his nervousness. She was nervous too. I feel like this was my fault. If only I ha listened to you, I wouldn't have been bitten by Tristan and I would just be a normal human with you being just a normal vampire. The only good thing that's come out of this is us being together and me getting to know you more. Getting to know about your world. I always felt that you were keeping something from me. |
Understanding where they are coming from, he nods in understanding to Alice, "Well, if that's going to be fine like that, than I shall do so for the time being Luna." He wants to make sure he doesn't mess up, so starting before the other alphas come is best. When the vampires come he also notices that Roselle as the silver, but its more of an annoying thing he noticed, not something upsetting to him.
When Alice asks about the silver, Roselle jumps, a bit startled that she has noticed it, "I didn't think we'd be allowed to the meeting and that we'd just be waiting for the hunt to start. If we're hunting a werewolf its best to use silver, isn't it? I can leave it with one of the clan members out here if you do want me to join in on the meeting." She removes the silver blade strapped to her arm, handing it to one of the other vampires with her. Signaling for them to stay there she approaches Arden and Alice, "I guess since we'll be working alongside each other the other alphas will have to know about us after all." |
"Well, silver won't work on Gabriel, nor will wolfsbane. I'm thinking that our eldest living pack member might have insight on what his weaknesses could be since she has been around for a very very long time. But, you need to stay here because I do not think hiding your presence will be good if we are to rely on your help." She told Roselle. She grabbed Arden's hand. "We do not want to illicit any reason for them to not trust us or you." She explained. Though she was nervous on how well the meeting would go if the alphas knew who they were going to do business with.
It wasn't long before the other alphas began making their way to the cabin. They had been there before so it wasn't hard to find. Plus, they could just use Alice and Arden's scent as a guide. There were four men, and one woman who were coming from different areas all to meet up in one group together. "Well, well, if it isn't miss Seraphim!" One of the men chuckled. "I hope you're not coming expecting some tea party! This is for men so unless you plan on decorating the place up a bit, I think you should just run along and play alpha in your own pack." One of the alphas smirked. Seraphim glared at him. In an instant, she had her long and sharp nails right at the guy's throat as she had a serious look on her face. "I didn't get this title by playing house mate. There's a reason why my pack follows me as their alpha." She stated proudly. "Well, technically, you're their luna." She pressed her nails into her throat, a bit of blood began to seep out from the scratch. Another one had to stop the argument as he ripped Seraphim and her hostage away from each other. "Seraphim, Lark, now isn't the time for these childish antics! We're coming together for a serious matter! Both of you should feel shameful for how you're representing your packs!" Lark barked. He was obviously a more older and more mature wolf of the two. Seraphim flipped her hair as she continued to walk, the tail end whipped Elijah's face. "Bitch." Elijah whispered lowly. They continued on down without much problems after that little spat. Once they arrived, the stink of vampires filled their nostrils and each made a face, some more obvious than others. "What's the meaning of this?! Having all of these vampires here! Are you trying to provoke a war?" Greyson questioned. Arden cleared his throat. "Gentlemen and madam, please do not be hostile towards Roselle and her clan. They are merely here to help us with a situation that will affect all of us if we do not get a grip on it soon enough." He took in a breath. "We have reason to believe that Gabriel is wanting to start a war between us and the vampires and not even the vampires would want that. Humans would get involved indirectly, while some, the hunters, will be directly involved. Either way, the situation will not be good for us. We need as much power as we can get. Especially since because Gabriel isn't affected by silver or wolfsbane." He explained. They erupted in chatter as they began to talk about what Arden had just said. All but Seraphim whom they all seemed to have left out. |
Roselle doesn't say anything when they freak out from her clan being there, she just clutches her sketch book even tighter. The vampires with her shift nervously, not liking the tension they feel after this Gabriel person is mentioned. Remembering how Alice said Gabriel was immune to silver there was something nagging at her.
"Excuse me, I don't mean to be rude miss...Seraphim was it? I just found out from Alice that Gabriel is for the most part immune to silver and wolfsbane. I take it he's one of those warriors who did something to make themselves basically soulless to fight vampires? If that is the case everyone will need to discuss what can be done to kill him since that seems to be the only way to stop him. I have...interesting abilities even for a vampire that may come in handy, but I'd like for everyone to hear it first. But it would probably be best if we did so inside, the rest of my clan will stay out here, I can inform them through our bloodbond what's going on. I've already told them not to interfere with anything within the meeting, so you need not worry about that. Besides, I think it would be best if we all got to know those we don't recognize as well that we'll be working with." Trying not to show how nervous she is talking to this female alpha, Roselle was trying to get her into a discussion about the matter at hand, which the other leaders were ignoring the woman. With vampires women tended to be the leaders since they tended to be more cunning than their male counterparts. At this point in the day Isaac was able to remove the towel he had been using to shade his eyes, the light having faded enough not to hurt his eyes. His ears twitch a bit nervous as he moves a bit more protectively towards Faye. With their reaction towards Roselle he was hoping they wouldn't do anything to them, but he was still being cautious since he doesn't know these people. But he does trust Alice and Arden to defend them if something were to happen either way. |
Seraphim looked over at Roselle as she spoke. "Yes. Good luck trying to get them to listen to you. They don't respect me and I'm a werewolf, don't expect them to respect you especially since you're a vampire." She warned.
"EVERYONE, LISTEN!" Arden yelled to get everyone to quiet down. "Right now, we do not need this petty issue about ehr being a female alpha, and Elijah, she IS an alpha. I will have no one disrespecting one another while here when we all need to come together." He ordered as he ushered everyone inside. "Now let's all introduce each other and we will talk about the matter that gathers all of us here today." As the werewolves entered, they noticed two more werewolves, Faye and Isaac. "Who are they? You've surprised us with even ore guests?!" Elijah began getting angry. "Calm yourself now! These two are new pack members! They have been targeted by Gabriel and they are the ones who brought this to our attention." The shut Elijah up but he wasn't happy about seeing them Faye whimpered lightly and moved closer to Isaac. I'm nervous. That one who just talked scares me the most. He seems like a hot head. "I'm Seraphim. Alpha of the Blue Lake Pack." She bowed lightly. "Greyson. Alpha of the Lunar River Pack." He bowed lightly. "Lark. Alpha of the Sun Rock Pack." He announced, also bowing lightly. "Elijah. Alpha of the Deer Creek Pack." He hardly even bowed, which it would have been worse if he didn't bow at all. "Needless to say, I'm Alpha of the Blood Moon Pack." Arden annouced, showing his annoyance with Elijah. "And I'm Luna of the Blood Moon Pack." She smiled and bowed. |
"I am Roselle of the Grove Clan of vampires, we're located in town, but try not to draw attention to ourselves. For those wondering why we're helping, the hunters in this area have become more active because of the werewolf Gabriel's activities. When talking with the pack here, the Blood Moon, they informed me that he might be trying to start up another war, which we don't want either to be honest." Isaac bows his head to the alphas, indicating respect towards them.
"I am and Isaac, and this is my mate Faye. We were attacked by Gabriel at our home, and killed the family of a hunter who he had also turned recently. The family lived outside of town, which is how we came to know about them." Should we mention what we really are to them Arden? I'd rather not lie to them if I can help it after all. |
Arden shook his head lightly at Isaac. No. We are all going to have a vampire smell to us and a werewolf smell so they wont really know. It would only cause more conflict. He stated. After everyone went around introducing one another, Arden cleared his throat. "Now Roselle, what were you saying about you having some sort of ability." He questioned her.
Faye was relieved to not let the others know. If they werent accepting of normal vampires, there was no way they would accept them. "Oh yeah, like some vampires can actually help our problems. Bssides, i see no problem of killing a hunter's family. He sounds more like a hero." Elijah sneered. Arden growled angrily at him. "You insulent boy! They were clueless of his lifestyle. These two would have been dead if they had told the husband." he stated. Elijah just crossed his arms. |
"Well, as you know by know probably, vampires have control over shadows and darkness. These can be used to bind creatures if the target can be lured to a shadowed area. Though with the new moon around it might be harder even though more shadows can be created. The reason I say this is because Gabriel is smart, he knows there are vampires in the area and he probably won't let himself be lured into such a situation." When Elijah interrupts she's temped to glare daggers at him, but Arden easily handles the situation. The immaturity of this werewolf was starting to annoy her.
"And as I was about to get to, this is my unique power that I've never seen another vampire have." Taking out her sketch book she lays it on the table in front of them on the table, turning it to a blank page. pulling out a simple piece of charcoal wrapped in a small piece of canvas she draws Elijah in the book in minute detail, only taking a few moments to do so. When she's finished the drawing turns into a shadowy blot, then expands up from the paper, shifting in form until there's another Elijah standing on the table also with his arms crossed and a sneer on his face. "So, are you wondering how this will help now?" The copy of Elijah sneers at him, "That vampire has completely control over any living drawing she makes until she decides to be rid of it, which is a secret. So if someone can get Gabriel to stand still long enough for her to draw out the details she can make a copy of them like she did us." |
Elijah was shocked to see an image of himself on the table, looking exactly like him. Then, it pissed him off that she would use him as the model for her strange and unusual power. "Get that freaky thing off the table!" He barked. His eyes were glowing yellow as he stared at her with pure hatred.
"Well, that's how you look, at this very moment. You're sneering and being very rude. I may be a female, but I at least have manners. Showing such rage and being arrogant and a hothead doesn't help anyone and frankly, I find it unbecoming of a true alpha." Seraphim stated. She was amused by the drawing. Elijah glared at Seraphim. "You just being a female is unbecoming of a true alpha!" Lark slammed his fist into the table, his attitude at the moment was much like Arden's but more angrier. "Alpha Elijah, you're acting like a child. It's worse than being a female alpha. Now stop acting like this. If your pack saw how you were acting, you would be kicked out and they would get a new alpha. You were only alpha because of your father. He had their respect, you only obtained it by being his son. Your immaturity is too great for you to be an alpha. This is a time for us to be working together, not cutting each other down. And that includes vampires." He stated with anger in his voice but after a few deep breaths, he was calm. Faye looked at everyone, she saw all sorts of different shades of color. But what she didn't see was the drawing coming to life. I can't see it Isaac. I wish I could see her power, it sounds really neat! She wondered if she had a secret power of some sort. Though she was highly doubtful. Arden cleared his throat. "So, how are we going to keep him still long enough for you to draw him?" He questioned looking at Roselle. He wants me Isaac. What if I become the bait? He shouldn't know of her power and if he wanted me dead, I would be dead by now. He knows where we live and for him, he could probably have easily gotten to me. She shivered at the idea of her getting captured by Gabriel. So maybe he needs me alive so he won't kill me. I can distract him, try to talk to him while Roselle draws him. |
Roselle shrugs, "I figured drawing him would get the point across. As you can see I didn't order him to say what he did, but I could impose my will on him if I wanted to, but it taxes my strength. If I were to do this with Gabriel it would probably take all my strength to keep him in check. But for some reason my powers prevent them from attacking me." Taking her hand she waves it over the page, almost like she was wiping something and the living drawing vanishes.
Hmm, so they are not truly living, but maybe shadows of the originals. So they are probably not as strong either than, but can still be useful. Isaac was thinking of the different things that could be done with such an ability, he just hopes that Roselle doesn't try to draw them. Hearing Arden's question Isaac does have an idea, but he first wants to see what Roselle comes up with. "Well, if he's trying to start a war a vampire would probably be best. After all it seems he wants another war after all." Having seen the other alpha's reaction to Isaac and Faye, she suspects that they don't know about them being part vampire. "Well, maybe he's trying to prove he wants to best the strongest vampire?" He was hoping the alphas didn't suspect anything, but he was going to let one tid bit of information slip. "He might be targeting me and my mate because I was able to defeat Lilith, but it was by tricking her. And Lilith is notoriously powerful, so he might be thinking I'm as powerful, if not stronger, than her." I'm not going to let you risk yourself like that Faye, you have trouble seeing things, so you might have trouble fighting him. Not to mention that you're still newly turned, you don't know what your strengths are yet. |
"Well, there are plenty of others here, you didn't have to draw me!" Elijah argued. Arden had enough of this. He stood up and glared at Elijah. "Once this is over I will strip you of your title. You swore allegiance to me and if you want your pack safe like a respectable alpha would, you have to do as I say. If it wasn't for that allegiance, you wouldn't even be here. You're childish and unfit to run anything! We need alphas who will be able to work with others, even if that means working WITH vampires! A war isn't something we need and with you alone, you could start a never ending one."
Getting angry, the hot head stood up. "I'm not giving up my spot. My pack wanted e to be alpha and I will continue to do so until I die." He stated and left out of there in a hurry. "Good, now, let's continued." Arden sat back down. Greyson looked at Isaac curiously. "The one who defeated Lilith was someone she had turned. I didn't hear of any werewolf killing her. It was just a rumor so maybe I'm wrong. They said his name but I do not remember. Isiah, I think? Unless my sources are wrong, which they usually aren't. If they were, I wouldn't use them." He scratched his chin as he stared a hole through Isaac as though he knew something was up. He couldn't place it but he felt that there was more to this Isaac than what was being let on. Isaac! Please? If he wanted me dead, I would have been dead! I can fight! Besides, with everyone, I won't be in any danger so I wouldn't have to fight. I can stall him, ask him questions. She begged in protest but she knew it would fall on deaf's ears. At least let me be a part of something! I don't want to sit on the sidelines while everyone else gets to do whatever they have to to get Gabriel! |
Isaac shrugs, "What other reason could he possibly have to be interested in me? Either way I think he wants to fight me, and Isaac and Isiah could be easily mistaken, or it could have been an alias I used to use. I have a few of those because I had a hard time finding a place to settle."
He turns his head slightly as he speaks mentally with Faye, Here's the thing, what if he doesn't go for me? We need you where there will be others to watch over you. If he does end up going after you then you can try that. He informs Arden and Alice of this, letting them know that they will have to split the defenses, and figure a way to signal Roselle so that she can draw Gabriel. Then a thought occurs to him. Micah? Can you hear me? If you can what are you able to tell me about Gabriel? |
Micah heard a voice in his head and huffed as he knew who it was. Gabriel? Well, he convinced me to hate my sister for a time and think that she's the reason why I am the way I am until I watched her from afar and deep down, I always knew that what he was saying was a lie. But he had someone he loved before he turned Arden. A vampire had killed her. She was his soulmate, her name was Sarah. They were going to be parents but I don't know what happened to the child. She had given birth but I never heard whether the child had died from the vampire also or not. He never went into detail. He explained.
Greyson looked at Isaac curiously as he knew that something wasn't right about him. He claimed that he killed Lilith but he had heard that her fledgling had killed her. "What I don't understand is that you're a werewolf and yet you claim that you killed Lilith when I heard that a vampire who she created had killed her." He explained and then rubbed his head. |
Then there might be a chance...Faye, I'll let Arden and Alice know about this and hear what they have to say about you being bait and tell Gabriel that you're with child. Maybe you can get him talking about that. He turns back to Greyson, tilting his head to the side a bit as if thinking.
"Well, there is a chance she could have survived, she seemed dead to me. After all, its hard at times to tell when a vampire is dead unless you burn them, which I hadn't done because I just wanted to get away from her." Roselle looks at him from the corner of her eye, having her suspicions as to what Lilith had done to him since she was unstable without her Adam. She then clears her throat to get everyone's attention again. "Anyways, in order for me to be able to draw him I'll also need something to cover my scent. If he catches a whiff of me he might try attacking me, which would completely ruin the plan. Is there a way to mask my scent to make it harder for him to find me? I'll be up in the trees, but I know werewolves can jump really high anyways." |
Faye nodded and then rested her head on his lap as she yawned.
Greyson was skeptical but just nodded in acknowledgement to move past the subject. There was more to discuss here. "Well, the best way to cover your scent is to make you smell like either one of us or a human. But it would have to be a ton of humans to completely get rid of your scent for a short amount of time. His sense of smell is stronger than most. I think it will be easier for you to smell like a wolf than a human unless you go to a crowded place right before we do this. What do you think?" He asked looking at Rosella. "Maybe having her smell like one of us will be better. You can borrow some of my clothing." She offered the vampire. She seemed like the most approachable of the werewolves, aside from Arden and Alice. |
"Hm...I guess that would be the quickest and easiest way to cover my scent. And going to town to cover my scent would be a waste of time that could be spent planning." She listens to Seraphim's suggestion and nods her head in agreement, "I don't mind, a vampire's sense of smell is not as keen as a wolf's. Granted we can smell things from the same distance, but a wolf's nose can get more information from a scent. So where we could tell you that there's flowers near a certain spot a wolf can tell you what flower it is, if its pollinating and probably how many flowers there were. Anyways, I can hide up in the trees, which I believe will help cover my scent as well. If you can try to keep him still for about a minute I should have enough reference to draw him no matter what."
|
Seraphim nodded. "You're correct on that assumption. I can tell what was in this room, who was in it and who it belongs to from smell alone. But, that doesn't really help my case since by looking around, we know all that information." She stated. "I don't have much clothing but you may wear whatever you would like. The more you're covered up, the better. But if you come with me, I will take you back to my pack, though I will have to sneak you in, the others don't know about you or how we are working with you. I don't think it would be good to let them know either." She stood up, bowing to the other Alphas, stared at Faye and Isaac knowing that something was off about those two. "If you excuse us. We shouldn't be long." She told Arden and Alice. They both nodded and excused her.
Tell Arden what we are going to do. Faye encouraged him. She thought he would be able to explain it better and get through to Arden more so than her. Plus, he could talk to everyone and inform them of the plan. If they didn't like it, she would just think of another one. Or try to at least. |
"Sounds like a good idea to me, what with the reactions I got when everyone met up, and the reaction when I came to ask about what the problem was." Getting up she follows Seraphim, bowing slightly to everyone else in the room out of respect before leaving.
I can try, but I don't know how much he'd like the plan. Isaac readies himself mentally as he begins telling Arden, Arden, there's something we want to do for this plan. Gabriel is really focused on us, since I was turned by Lilith, but you mentioned how he had a mate that was murdered that was with child, right? Faye wants to use herself as bait to lure him out and try to stall him by talking with him so that Roselle can draw him. Of course we'd need to keep a close eye on her, but it seems more likely to work than using me as bait. She wants to try and appeal to the part of him he had before he lost his soul. |
Seraphim looked at Rosella. "Do you think you can keep up with me? I plan on running there to get to my pack as soon as possible and then run right back here. The sooner we execute our plan, the better but it also depends on if they develop a plan to get him to stay long enough for you to draw him." She stated. She didn't want to take off in case Rosella wouldn't be able to keep up with her. Last thing they needed was for her to get lost trying to keep up.
Arden interlocked his fingers and thought about Isaac's plan. Lifting an eyebrow, he looked at him and Faye and thought about the plan for a moment. If you're willing to let Faye face Gabriel, then so be it. I will not stop her but know that he may kill her and the child if he thinks he's being set up. Or even if he doesn't there is still a great chance for him to kill her and your child. But if you think it will work, we can try and we will keep eyes on her so we can try to stop anything bad from happening to her. Tell them your plan. You will have my support if they don't listen. Faye was nervous but she kept a brave face knowing that Isaac wouldn't let anything bad happen to her. She knew that she could count on him, and there were plenty of strong alphas who were helping so she felt even more safe. Hopefully that girl can draw fast though. |
"Probably, if there are enough trees anyways. I like sticking to the trees, gives me a better view of the ground." Nodding her head she waits to hear what the others plan on doing.
Isaac takes a deep breath, clearing his throat to get everyone's attention, "As you can see, my mate Faye is with child, which I've reluctantly consented to the suggestion she's just made. She would like to use herself as bait, hoping that she can somehow distract him by appealing to the part of him that had lost his own mate and child. There should still be memories he had of them which may prevent him from attacking her right away, and possibly give Roselle time to draw Gabriel. I don't like the idea but to seems like our best shot at this." Roselle goes frigid, turning round and glaring with crimson eyes at him, "How could you let her want to put herself in danger like that?! Even more so when she's going to be having a baby!" She begins pacing around, grabbing her hair like she's about to pull it out. "That is an absurd idea! You could end up just like Gabriel if she gets killed! You don't want to risk that, I'm telling you right now!" Her frustration and emotional distress is very obvious and very strong. |
Faye growled at Roselle. She wanted to do this! She wanted to contribute! She only growled to warn the vampire that she wanted to do this. She didn't want to be useless just because she was pregnant. Tell them that it was my plan! Don't let the others think that it was your plan! I don't want them upset with you for telling them what I think. Faye insisted.
"Calm down! Roselle, she wants to help and I honestly think that the plan is the best one so far. If he's as bad as what Isaac had said, about how soulless he is, then having Faye who's pregnant could remind him of his pregnant mate! He might even confuse her with his dead mate! If that happens then that would be ideal since he won't even attack her. It will give you more time to draw her out." Arden stated, giving Isaac his full support. The other alphas contemplated. "But this truly isn't something for a lady, no offense Luna Alice, Alpha Seraphim. We will just have to take extra measure to make sure that we keep her safe." Lark suggested. |
Roselle is shaking visibly, taking soothing breathes to try and calm herself. After a moment she's finally calmed down, "Sorry about that, with us vampires it is extremely hard to have children, and when a female is with child everyone in the clan does what they can for the mother and child to be. You could say my instincts to keep a mother away from any harm kicked in there. I forgot that werewolves don't have it as bad as us when it comes to that. If that's what you want to do I won't stop you, just please be careful." Her face pales a bit, but she shakes it off, "Come on Seraphim, let's go before I start freaking out again. I want to get this done and over with, with as few casualties as possible."
Isaac breathes a sigh of relief when she lives, "I did not expect that kind of reaction from her. For a moment there I thought she might faint with the way she was acting, I didn't know that vampires could have children, I had thought they always turned people. Anyways, thank you. It would help ease my mind knowing that we're going to give her as much protection as possible. Though someone might have to keep an eye on me, in case I snap if he does begin acting like my mate is his mate." |
Seraphim nodded and left with Roselle. "I understand why you're upset at the idea of using Faye as bait. She's a mother to be and yet you people have a hard time getting pregnant. It seems rather selfish since they are able to get pregnant and yet for you, it's hard. But it's the best chance we have I think and besides, they might come up with another plan, they were just throwing out ideas." She said trying to comfort the vampire even though she talked in a monotone voice.
Faye shook her head. Neither did I but it's good that she did. It shows that she does care about others. And she said that her clan does whatever they can for a mother to be. I think that's nice. I feel bad that it's hard for them to get pregnant though. I'm glad that it wasn't hard for us. She nuzzled her head into Isaac. |
Isaac scratches behind her ears affectionately, I'm surprised, as is probably anyone else that saw that. What with how vampires coming off as being heartless or lacking emotion, seeing such a reaction is completely unexpected. It is a shame that its so hard for them to have children, it probably would have avoided such a bloody war between the two races. This would also explain their vengeful attacks after one of their own dies too. Maybe there will be a time when we'll have our own clan or pack that is like this one or Roselle's clan. Anyways, I know you're brother is not going to like this but I'm going to let him know about the plan since everyone seems to be alright with it.
|
Faye shook her head. No, absolutely not! We are NOT telling my brother anything! He will try to come after you and I really don't want you to die on me because he will do everything possible to kill you for allowing me to be in harms way and then he will try to kill Gabriel and fail miserably because he can't be stopped by normal means. She told Isaac. The thought of Micah fighting Gabriel despite lacking the power scared her. He was the one who turned her brother, there was no way he would be able to defeat him.
Seraphim picked out an outfit for Roselle to wear once she got to her pack. She snuck Roselle in secretly, without anyone noticing, though no doubt they would wonder why they smell vampire. After getting an outfit, she handed it over to her. "Here, I hope it fits, I on't seem like I'm bigger than you." She said as she handed off the light blue and white dress over to the vampire. |
Alright my love, I won't. But if he's participating in this hunt he'll find out either way. I'll let you decide what is best in that regard. He looks up at the alphas gathered there, "So alphas," he bows his head slightly in respect, "have we come to a conclusion about the plan? Are there those in your clan you believe will be accepting, even if a bit grudgingly, working with the vampires in this matter? I don't think the ones in our pack will be enough, even if its at least a couple from your packs would help. Do you agree Alpha Arden?"
Roselle takes the dress, pausing a moment to look at it, "This is actually simple yet very pretty, thank you for letting me use it. I'll try not to let it get ruined if I can." Quickly she puts it on and follows Seraphim, she wasn't going to try and remember the packs location, she really didn't want to have another war start. |
Faye let out a sigh as she thought about what she should tell her brother. No way would he ever accept her being the bait. He was too protective over her, he was her brother after all. Even if they hadn't been in each other's lives, that didn't mean he loved her any less. Do we really need to involve my brother? Wouldn't our group right here be enough? She asked. She was nervous about what Micah would do to Isaac especially knowing that he was putting her in harms way even if it was Faye's idea.
The alphas all looked at each other and then they all nodded. "Yes, that seems to be our better option right now." One stated. "Well, even if there isn't, they will have to. But we have to do this with minimal people as possible. If he smells a lot of us, he might know what's happening or get an inkling that something's up." Greyson stated. Arden thought about it. "I think Greyson is right. I think we should do it with as little people as possible. And what will worry me the most is if he knows that we are all alphas, that would also tip him off. I don't know if he does or doesn't so it's a chance we have to be willing to take. We will take our betas with us. Leave our third in command to run the packs while we are gone." Arden announced. "What? What if an enemy finds out that our packs leaders are gone? We can't leave our members so vulnerable! Our third in command won't be enough!" Lark stated, very unpleased with the idea. "What, you have no confidence in your third? He's still plenty stronger than the other pack members, otherwise, why do you have a third that can easily be taken down?" Arden questioned. "That's not what I'm saying! I have confidence in him but he's only one person! He won't be able to help everyone in the pack if rogues attack!" He explained. "Well, if everyone feels strongly about that, then it will just be us. The less people the better but also the less people, the more likely we won't win." The room went silent. Seraphim nodded. "My pleasure. Do not worry about the dress though. If I had not wanted that dress to become ruined, I wouldn't have given it to you." She told Roselle. Being conscious of getting a dress dirty while in battle would be hard. She was fully expecting her to get it dirty and most likely even torn. |
Well, he hasn't come to the meeting, so I'm guessing he's going to try and do his own thing. If that's the case we'll only have to tell him when he comes to the group. Isaac didn't like this either way, but knew he'd be in trouble with Micah whether he was told or not. He can sense the tension in the room over the discussion of how many each pack will take with them. He just hopes that they can beat Gabriel, though Isaac wishes there was a way to save him even if he's caused so much pain and suffering. Gabriel has suffered himself, which got him wondering if soulmates can be reborn. And if his already was, would he be reborn to be with her? Isaac hopes that if they do kill him he could at least be reborn to be again with his mate since he had suffered so much in this life.
The two of them finally make it back, Roselle letting her clan members know what's going on, then heads back to the other alphas. "Is there a chance that the rest of my clan can get something to wear over their clothes? Or would you rather they keep their distance and I call for them when we need more help?" |
The alphas looked at each other as Roselle asked the question. They began to relax since they did forget about the vampires were there to help. Arden stood up to address her. "Have them far away to to where you will still be able to call for them when needed. We were discussing that if he smelled too many of us there, it might tip him off that we are going to ambush him so we were debating whether or not to bring our betas with us. But I think with us and you and your clan, that will be sufficient since we do have other enemies to worry about and if we have our betas with us, it would leave our packs too vulnerable." He explained to the two.
Yeah. Ok. I just hope he doesn't do something stupid. And I also wish that I could be human! This is irritating. She then realized the one flaw in their plan. How will I speak to him? We haven't done the bite thing for us to communicate through a mind link? If Micah comes when we both bite each other, he might get the wrong idea, if he's biting me to do the mind link that is. |
"Alright, I'll let them know what's going on. Any particular location you want them to wait at until I signal them?" When she had seen Fye again she once more began to fidget in nervousness over the fact a mother to be was putting herself in danger.
I'm more concerned about whether or not I can keep myself under control when he does that. I've already lost my temper a few times because of the change, Gabriel doing that to you might set me off. I just hope I don't screw everything up, but I'll try to keep control. "It's starting to get late, have we determined where we're going to set this all up, or let him come to us?" |
Faye looked over at Roselle and saw that she was fidgety. She let out a sigh. She walked over to her and placed a paw on her leg to let her know that she was alright with what they were planning.
Well, just try to control yourself, please. She begged she didn't want to ruin their chances of getting him. Arden cleared his throat. "Well, we are going to set this up and Faye will be wandering around until she sees Gabriel, make sure he sees you though, and then he should chance her. If he chases her, then she would lead him to where we are set up." He suggested. "And you should be close by Issac, he probably would know that you would never leave her side." He told him. "What's this I hear about you wanting to set me up?" The door busted down as Gabriel entered. He was alone and looked just as soulless as before. Everyone jumped up, Faye snuck over to Isaac to be by his side. She wanted to fight but being pregnant made her scared to. |
Jumping up, Isaac puts his arm up as a gesture of protection, having not sensed that Gabriel was there, like everyone else seemingly hasn't. Roselle gets behind the Alphas, realizing her vampires must not have tried to act him thinking he was one of the other wolves for the meeting. As indiscreetly as possible she tries to draw Gabriel, hoping he wouldn't catch on to what she was doing.
"Gabriel, please stop this, no one wants to fight anymore. All you're doing is causing suffering for others like you did. Yes, there are some vampires that are heartless monsters that treat others like vermin, but no one wants another war to break out. Do you want more suffering because of the loss of a mate? You know how that feels, and you're still suffering from it." He's hoping that the mentioning of his mate and the suffering it caused would make him pause long enough for Roselle to draw him. It was a slim chance, but a chance none the less. |
Gabriel just stared at Isaac. "I don't care what anyone wants. And do not talk about something you're clueless about. If you were smart, you would keep your mouth shut. I'm surprised both the werewolves and vampires would want to work with a hybrid like you two. A mix between vampire and werewolf. You two are the worst." He stared at Roselle with his head cocked to the side as he watched her draw. "You like to draw do you?" He started to rush towards Roselle but Faye moved out from behind Isaac to stop him. Gabriel glared at her before grabbing her by her throat, digging his claws into her neck. "Do not touch me you vermin!" He flung her across the room. Her only thought was the baby within her but when she began to see a bright light surrounding the place, not realizing that she was the only one who could see them, she was surprised. They began to form into people and not just anyone, it was Elizabeth and her children, even her unborn baby and her husband Lucien. She perked her ears up.
"You're going to be a mother Faye! How exciting for you and Isaac! I wish we were still there for you. But please, do not blame yourself for our death, and let Isaac know that also. The only one to blame is Gabriel." Elizabeth petted Faye along with the children. In her other arm was her baby. "We will help you, we will keep him here for as long as we can. He needs to pay for his crimes." Lucien stated. The family walked towards Gabriel as he was making his way towards Roselle but the family stopped him in his tracks. She felt this power within her, she walked over to Gabriel and slashed his face for what he did. She knew the baby was alright but still, what if she had died?! But she didn't stop with just that. Rage began to consume her as she growled and then clamped her jaws tightly down on his throat. She felt something in his neck snap but she continued to press down hard and harder. Gabriel chuckled as blood began to come out of his mouth. "You want to inherit the darkness? Then so be it!" He chuckled wickedly. She continued to bite down until his bones cracked and the life began to flee his body. Her eyes were red. Once the life left his body, the family waved bye and left also. But there was a heavy darkness that began to surround her until it took her shape and entered her body. She let go of Gabriel and passed out. Arden looked at Isaac. "Get out of here now!" He demanded. Alice stared at the other alphas who were upset and very angry since they knew what happened, or at least that Isaac and Faye were also vampires. Alice and Arden had a terrified look on their faces, Alice more so than Arden but still. "I will escort them out of our pack." Alice told them. It was an excuse to go with them. |
Roselle quickly backs away, smearing her ink across the paper in the process, swearing at her clumsiness. Then is surprised as Faye jumps to her defense.
"No! Faye!" But it was too late, Gabriel had already grabbed her and thrown her across the room. As he gets ready to lunge at Gabriel he notices that he's stopped, watching in confusion as he doesn't move as Faye rushes over and kills him. He gets the feeling something happened that he couldn't see, just not sure what as she grabs Faye up in his arms. "Hang in there my love, I'm here." When Arden yells at him to leave, Isaac looks up to look at the faces of the alphas, seeing their anger, he can't help but feel a pain in his heart. Carrying Faye in his arms he leaves, not saying a word to anyone and not looking at anyone. The vampires outside had heard what was said, sneering and hissing at him as he left and headed back to his home. Roselle watches as they leave, followed by Alice, who can only shake her head at their reaction to him. "That man hasn't done anything to deserve your anger, the fact that he's tolerated so much is amazing in and of itself. I know not his real name, but I know Lilith sired him, tormenting him to the point of loathing vampires and killing her. He hates vampire so much that he even almost slaughtered all the vampires in one of our feeding houses in a fit of rage when he saw how the humans were being treated by some of the vampires of my clan. Something I plan to rectify, but what about you alphas? You're treating him no better than the rest of my kind. He has no one to turn to but his mate, Faye. He took humans into his home because he was lonely and protected them as best he could. He's very accepting of others, and almost never drinks animal blood, just animal blood. I've watched him when he was still a vampire, he only recently became what you saw before you. And if my suspicions are correct, at his full strength vampires and werewolves working together wouldn't be able to kill them, since they are an Adam and an Eve, the parents of a race. But since they are only a pair, they are basically going to be like gods compared to the rest of us. Makes me wonder if the Night Lord and the Moon Lady planned all of this." Looking out the window she looks up at the moon. "Maybe this is the key to ending the hostility between the races? A third party that is neutral to both sides? And those wanting to protect others seems to be part of their nature as well. Maybe they are to be the new guardians to watch over all the races, like the ancient gods who faded away as people stopped believing in them." She turns back to the alphas, expecting them to be angry with her as well. |
Alice placed a hand on Isaac. "She will be ok. Though, I wonder what happened. But, just so you know, Arden isn't upset with you or Faye despite him yelling. He has to put on an act and thought that it was best that he pretended dumb on your situation. Right now, I don't know what will happen. He's powerful, but that power can be taken away especially with something as scandalous as this. If you need us, just let us know ok?" She gave Isaac a hopeful smile. "If I didn't know better, I think Gabriel wanted them to know knowing that his time was up. If he couldn't kill you or Faye, then the alphas would. or even those vampires, they didn't seem too happy about what they heard. But I wonder who tipped off Gabriel. How did he know to come there?" She sighed. She had her suspicions that it was the alpha who was causing trouble but she didn't want to throw around blame if it wasn't actually true.
Just as she suspected, the other alphas were highly angry. "We don't need something like that here! You stay in your world, we stay in ours. That's how it's been since the war and that's how it will be. As so long as we uphold the treaty, then all will be fine. We don't need something like him or whatever that creature was he calls a mate to exist! They should be exterminated." Lark said with a temper flaring. It was only Seraphim who only looked shocked, she didn't look angry about the situation, maybe because she knew how it felt to be an outcast among a group of alphas consisting of men. She knew her strength so she wasn't questioning it. She had a right to be here but yet, despite how some acted, she knew that they would feel better if she was a man. Though her situation was different, she was a full werewolf, like how it should be. "I agree with you Roselle. They seem very caring and more loving and accepting than most in this room. Faye even took down Gabriel, something that I highly doubt all of us combined couldn't do without help from the vampires, hence why they are here. They can be a great ally against rogues, against many other enemies who threaten us. But I think it's more likely that you all are afraid of what they are and afraid of their strengths. That's why you're upset, not because of what they are. I mean, that's part of it but you fear their power I bet. If you fear it, why not have them as a friend inside of an enemy?" She stated. She stood by what Roselle said. "I think they will help us bridge the gap between us and unite us all as one to help with our survival. The treaty was made only for the fact that if we kept fighting, it would put our existence at risk for the humans to find out." The alphas just sneered and got up. "This isn't over Alpha Arden. We will see you soon." With that, they didn't want to hear another word and left. Their speech did little to nothing to settle their anger. |
"I know Alice, I'm not upset about Arden, I know he has to try and keep his cover. I don't know them, but the others reacting like that still hurts." He didn't mind her trying to comfort him, but it wouldn't change how others feel about them, "Yes, I'm wondering about that too. Along with how he took an interesting in Roselle drawing. That's not an ability a vampire would share unless they thought there was a need to. I suspect that even most of those in her clan don't know about that power."
Sighing and shaking her head, she looks at the alphas with pity in her eyes, "Last I checked all the races live in the same world, and will eventually cross paths. Its something inevitable and how the world was made. Hiding in your territories won't stop the rest of the world from changing and evolving, and will just leave you lost and confused." She shakes her head again, but then looks up in surprise, a wide grin spreading across her face as she bounces around giddily. Roselle walks over to Seraphim, as happy as a child in the candy store. "I think you and me will be great friends, you understand where I'm going with all of this. Even I fear the power those two possess, since I've seen it first hand before he became one of both races. Though if Isaac was a vampire at one time, I wonder how Faye came to be what she is? She was already of both race before Isaac was. Oh! I should give you this dress back..." She looks down at it, still thinking it was very pretty and a bit reluctant to take it off. It might not be has fancy as her other dresses, but having a simple, but pretty dress reminded her of how things used to be in her family, and the love they had for her while she was still human. Finally, she takes it off and holds it out to Seraphim. "If you're in town ask around for me, I have a shop that I run where I work on my commissions. I can treat you to some tea and food, though I hope it won't taste too bad, its not like I can really taste anything except for things like raw steak." |
