Coda 11-01-2012 03:44 PM

I was one of the Taiki-clones!

Also, DK, Beta Style is a Coda pixel too, technically ;)

Lucid, check out THIS avatar:
http://greenmaw.com/ahigerd/coda.png
Even older! And containing a Coda pixel that never got released. XD

Demonskid 11-01-2012 03:44 PM

i think ulti's siggy was what caused the idea for upside down avi's xD

During CB.. Coda had long hair D: i drew arts of it!

Alpha 11-01-2012 03:50 PM

......oh gosh. Coda...you devil you....release the item!

Oh, that avi did have long hair....nice!

Coda 11-01-2012 04:01 PM

Well, I have long hair, and my original avatar was modeled after myself.

Demonskid 11-01-2012 04:02 PM

it did at one point.. oxo somewhere

http://i863.photobucket.com/albums/a.../CodaAteit.jpg

Alpha 11-01-2012 04:08 PM

Wow....did not picture you having long hair Coda. No idea why, just didn't. Why you change?

DK: That made me laugh.

Coda 11-01-2012 04:29 PM

Because I like the front of this hair better and the back was colliding with something else I wanted to wear but I forget what now.

Nexess 11-01-2012 04:32 PM

.____. We need to make Coda a belt to go with his outfit. a Green wide belt...

Alpha 11-01-2012 04:32 PM

Hmm.....okay. Makes sense.

Nexy:: Yes we do. Belts of Staff Two maybe?

Demonskid 11-01-2012 04:34 PM

wonders if someone designed DK a belt what would it be like o.O

Alpha 11-01-2012 04:35 PM

Hmmm....maybe with foxy stuffs? Or just decorated with mini versions of DK?

Coda 11-01-2012 04:38 PM

You're not the first person to say I need a belt. XD

Edit: It needs the coda symbol as the belt buckle!

Alpha 11-01-2012 04:40 PM

Coda symbol? What does that look like?

And yes, you do need a belt Coda. It looks like you have really old man pants up to your chest right now.....

Arikana 11-01-2012 04:41 PM

Wow. Such uncluttered avatars from Coda. So not used to that. >w>

Nice drawing there, Dk, I love the expression on Fen's face. >w>

Also: What the heck is a Coda symbol? owo

Coda 11-01-2012 04:42 PM

It looks like an oval with a + through it.

http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedi.../Coda_sign.png

Though being a belt buckle the horizontal bar would need to disappear under the belt for a little bit.

Alpha 11-01-2012 04:43 PM

Hmmm.....*is foreseeing a need for another collaboration for a BELTS OF THE STAFF TWO* Now who else needs a belt....

That would certainly work.

Arikana 11-01-2012 04:44 PM

That looks familiar. I think I've seen that on sheet music before? owo

Coda 11-01-2012 04:48 PM

Yes, you have. It's a symbol designating the start of a piece of music's ending, usually used in conjunction with a notation like "D.S. al Coda" for going back to play an earlier part of the song and then skipping from an appropriate point into the ending.

Arikana 11-01-2012 04:50 PM

Mm, is Coda musical? :o

Coda 11-01-2012 04:58 PM

Yes. Yes I am.

Actually the name is sort of three-pronged for me.

First, it's a musical term -- my character class, if I were to label myself as a D&D character, would be bard. I have varying levels of proficiency in a dozen different musical instruments, I've carved two flutes by hand, my day job is developing digital instruments, and I've got something of a "jack of all trades, master of none" thing going on in non-musical fields, including a little bit of knowledge about a whole lot of different things I've been exposed to over the years. (I'm also decent with dexterity-type weapons like bows and lightweight swords.)

Second, it's a musical term that sounds like a name -- which is perfect for a Mega Man universe fan-character, and I'm a big Mega Man fan. I used to be an admin on the Bob and George fansite before the fansite got rolled into the main site (and to date I'm still a moderator there even though the community has mostly moved on).

Third, it's the Italian word for "tail", and I really like cats. XD

Alpha 11-01-2012 05:04 PM

Very nice Coda...long description, but it makes sense.

Espy 11-01-2012 05:28 PM

...darn you, college. M hair is now long enough to attempt eating my food.

Lucid: 11-01-2012 05:32 PM

Coda's avatar used to be green and now it's blue. ;A; Also why did the sayan glow never get released? o3o

Espy, I went my whole first year of college refusing to figure out where to get a haircut. XD I had it cut when I went home for Christmas so it wasn't completely out of line, but it was definitely too long for my tastes. Are there any beauty schools nearby? I love the work that the Paul Mitchel school I go to does.

._. I still think that is a weird sign. But perhaps we could do a second belt at some point....
-goes to bother Gallie-

Espy 11-01-2012 05:36 PM

Meh, dunno. Might as well put my razor to it. -wonders what an Espy-belt would look like-

Tiva 11-01-2012 06:05 PM

Ulti belt it blue.

Nexess 11-01-2012 06:07 PM

<w< Perhaps nexy shall look into holding some sort of contest.... maybe,... we'll see....

Ultima 11-01-2012 06:08 PM

@Tiva: Well, yeah that part is fairly obvious XP
But because I don't really have one set style for my avatars (except feminine in general), what would it be? o3o

Coda's avatar is teal because there aren't enough green items that fit the style, so it's mostly teal with some blue and some green.

Edit: Saiyan aura never got released because it's not even all that good (the darker colors have a visible hard edge along the bottom, plus it's really obviously just "outer glow" as applied to a base) so I never really pushed to get anyone to approve it. XD

Espy 11-01-2012 06:15 PM

Back to the point you were talking a while ago, I realized my name also has several meanings XD

Tiva 11-01-2012 06:15 PM

hmmm Blue and ruffles...

Ultima 11-01-2012 06:16 PM

Ultima's name means many things too -nod-
But I just picked it for the Final Fantasy meaning(s) >w>;

@Tiva: Perhaps XP

Espy 11-01-2012 06:18 PM

Two of the later meanings (espionage and esper) were mostly friend-induced...I read my friends' minds a bit too readily.

Oh, wow. That's really cool. I like how you've got three different reasons for your username. :3

What sort of musical instruments do you play? :o And what sort of digital instruments do you make? :o

xD mini dk's? that would be interesting.

Coda 11-01-2012 07:20 PM

I've had lessons on piano, clarinet (including bass clarinet and contra-alto clarinet), oboe, French horn, cello, and drumkit (though I'm not very good at the drums from lack of practice). I'm self-taught on the ocarina and mallet percussion (that is, instruments like the xylophone -- they all play basically the same) as well as the recorder (which is a much more pleasant instrument when it's not made of plastic and being played by a grade schooler; the flutes I made were technically recorders).

The French horn and cello lessons mean I can pick up basically any string or brass instrument and play it with some level of proficiency, and between the clarinet and the oboe I can figure out most reed instruments if you give me some time to familiarize myself. (Though last time I tried to play an alto sax I found it was harder than I expected because a sax embouchure is quite a bit different from a clarinet embouchure. I could play it but I had to be REALLY careful.)

I HAVEN'T been able to figure out how to play the normal flute, though; admittedly I haven't tried terribly often but I can't seem to get it to make sound even though I know how it's SUPPOSED to work.

As for what I make for my day job? I'll just drop a link: http://www.soundsonline.com -- yes, some of these are thousand-dollar products; this (unfortunately) isn't a product for hobbyist musicians.

Coda 11-01-2012 07:26 PM

Disclaimer: Just because I'm capable of playing all of those instruments doesn't mean I'm all that great with them. I'm definitely not good enough at any of them to get a job as a musician. It's just more of the "jack of all trades, master of none" thing; I don't have the depth of experience in any of them to be great. (Except for piano. I'd have a chance with piano, if I spent a few months practicing again.)

Alpha 11-01-2012 07:38 PM

*chuckles* Yeah, that saying is quite appropriate then. And you are always your own worst critic, so paired with some modesty.....

DK: Yes, it would be......

Demonskid 11-01-2012 07:39 PM

DK is learning the Ocarina! 8D I have a ceramic one that is to replicate the zelda one ^_^
