He kind of isn't. He's always been unstable, and very... stubborn. And yelly. He hasn't thrown or broken things in a while, though, so that's good. And he hasn't been drinking since I was little.

One of the times I remember best was when the school bus ended up being late because he decided to start a fight with someone in the street.
