I dislike reading fanfiction...because...
1. I sometimes adopt a fanfictions headcanon into my own
and I hate that
2. I sometimes forget what is canon and what is fanfiction...

That's why I don't read fanfiction when I first get into a fandom. The ones I'm reading now don't really have much of an effect on the show. They're just "what if" scenarios.

I'm too scared to read fanfic, because my perception of the characters will be forever changed...

It's not that bad. Cupcakes didn't change my view of Pinkie Pie. Actually, none of the pony fanfics changed my opinion of the characters.

"wanna play tf2 with me"

"um i'm too busy shipping the characters to play the actual game"
