I was actually explaining the concept of Avatars on avatar forums to my art teacher yesterday. "Somewhat limited Pixelated collages used to represent users and user ideas on a forum."

Huh...I guess I just think of dolls/miniatures as 3D collages.

Either way - it sounds great. Sometimes, even though I love to embellish, I can't find the right words!

I think of pixels as flat, like animation cells. Layering them reminds me of paper dolls, too.
