People breaking the signature rules.

What to do about it? I see people breaking it everyday and it's making me a little annoyed. I'd like a bigger sig but I'd be stupid if I pretend I didn't know the rules. So I'm wondering how to deal with this.

Send a PM to an admin.

I'm kinda thinking it would be better to put the rules within the signature editor as most people seem to completely ignore reading them otherwise.

Panda 09-08-2010 11:30 AM

I have no problem at all, they like what they do and I like what I do. :] If they're abusing it then there should be rules for it and limit on how big they can have and whatnot. I like to have blank signature because it is too messy for me.

Yuki 09-08-2010 11:32 AM

There ARE rules about how big they can be.

Panda 09-08-2010 11:34 AM

Then someone should tell them something. :3

Gozed 09-08-2010 11:40 AM

I think thats the point he's getting at Panda...

Panda 09-08-2010 11:41 AM

I know.

I'm just supporting his idea.

Yuki 09-08-2010 11:45 AM

Well we should just report them via PM apparently. Would be easier if the rules were more clear though. Which they don't seem to be.

Fictions 09-08-2010 11:50 AM

I believe once we get everything put together we will be coding some limits to the signatures if i remember correctly ...........

Yuki 09-08-2010 11:51 AM

So that you can't upload pictures too big?

Coda 09-08-2010 11:59 AM

That's the idea, yeah. I know how to do it since I've coded this kind of thing on other boards before.

Yuki 09-08-2010 12:04 PM

Sounds good. I just don't think it's fair some people have bigger signatures. You can't tell if they actually know or if they don't. I have to admit I did the same mistake once myself but quickly learned from it. So it's must be easy to miss those rules I guess. Others confused signature picture limit with picture post limit.

Sadrain 09-08-2010 12:06 PM

Well, honestly, I have no idea how can you size text, so I have NO idea how big my signature is right now. I always thought the limit was for images in them.

Yuki 09-08-2010 12:09 PM

No, it's just the pictures. Text normally don't have to load a lot. Pictures does.

Sadrain 09-08-2010 12:16 PM

Well, I thought so, too. I know there often are codings that say "your signature exceeds this and that limit" if it's that big. Then it will also include text. Man, I will miss adding my arts in there, haha. XD

Coda 09-08-2010 01:34 PM

I dunno about the rest of the staff but text counts in my book. It's not too hard to put an estimate on text size and it's really rather easy to put a maximum limit on signature size in the browser so anything in excess of the rules just gets cut off.

Yuki 09-08-2010 06:29 PM

Well, I suppose it could be abused as well so there might need to be a limit there too...
