Animal Crossing: New Leaf
 

Anyone have it? I'm currently obsessed with it. I think it's the best one so far mainly because you can edit the town being Mayor.

I like my town's layout except the Re-Tail store is on the opposite side of the map as my ocean so it makes selling fish tedious.

My favorite neighbors currently are Skye and Ribbot!

Someone was nice enough to give me a Japanese DLC item, the Cherry Blossom Clock. So cool. Cx

@ Rose, yeah the 3DS friend code is what your animal crossing one would be. And I started with apples too. I have a variety of fruit now though. I can't seem to get Bananas anywhere though. P:

I didn't really like the original DS one. I probably played it for like a week. haha I don't remember cuz my brother sold it. I apparently played the Wii one because I have a file but I don't remember anything about it. This New Leaf is definitely really good compared to those one. xP

The only way to find those noise maker guys is to dig them up the day after it rains on your game. Kind of like fossils, they show up in the ground.

Really? o-o I tend to get them the day that its raining and i play everyday thus far minus yesterday i kinda missed yesterday D; I have a house full of them.. i might sell some cause i hardly use them and they eat a lot of space.

they do eat a lot of space but you cant buy them back later

I just got AC:NL myself, and I'd love to hang out with some people. It's a really fun game. *nods* :3

My town's not terribly interesting, I have to split my bells between my home loan and public works projects.

I was just thinking, if you guys have any villagers moving out soon, post them here and maybe someone will take them off your hands (for free or a fee). I'll list some of mine whenever they tell me they're leaving.

I have been waiting to get the 10 villagers that I want before building a lot of public work projects because I want to build them in places the villagers won't put their houses. haha I have 8/10 right now and my brother has my 9th one moving out this week that I need to kick one of the 2 I don't want out to get. It may sound kind of bad that I'm kicking people out and getting specific ones but I wasn't all that picky. Over half of them are ones I wouldn't have picked normally but were part of the start of my village and grew on me. There were just a few that I had from previous games that I really liked and wanted back. xD

My current town has Skye, Tabby, Rocco, Marshal, Mira, Ribbot, Chief, Freya, Dierdre, and Tammy. I'm trying to replace Dierdre and Tammy with Moe and Rudy.

I started putting down walk ways and trying to grow hybrid flowers to make my town look nice. It's the first time I'm going that far in an Animal Crossing town. :D Once I get it a little more organized I will post the Dream Address if anyone wants to see.

I didn't know you could actually make people leave, or that they'll actually go to someone else's town.

I'm pretty content with my townsfolk, only a handful that I'll be keeping around. Sterling just moved in and he's cool so he's staying.

I just downloaded the game to my 3DS with the $30 I receive from the Fire Emblem + Shin Megami Tensei 4 deal. (Along with Attack of the Friday Monsters, weird cute game FYI Has that nice backyard totoro magical feel)
I haven't started playing it yet, but after seeing all these rad reviews and all my friends are addicted to it hopefully I can enjoy it. I'm new to the series, and hopefully this isn't anything like Harvest Moon. I can never seem to enjoy games like these for some reason...

I chopped down all trees in my town except fruit and one pine tree XD

Any tips for a newcomer? I live in the town of Crossing, and I just found out Nook is a d**k.

Illusion, Thonky will be one of your best friends. Between that, the AC:NL wiki, and (I check) /r/animalcrossing on Reddit, there is nothing you won't know. You can check out the bell-making guide for ideas on how to make money.

The first week or two seem to be really slow, but enjoy just starting because it's an experience you only get once per game (many never restart). It's a life simulator, to some degree, so it's not meant to be played more than a few hours a day unless you are farming beetles off the island, decorating your town, or talking to your neighbors. If you play it too much, you may get burnt out.

It's best feature is that it is a game meant to relax with. Take your time, get to know your friends (both animal and other humans), and enjoy just being in your town. :3

@ XrosHeartless, You can't really MAKE them leave but everyone, no matter how good of friends you are with them will always try to leave at some point. You can tell them to stay or tell them goodbye. Sometimes when you tell them goodbye they will change their mind and stay anyways. lol The day they say they'll be leaving, all their belongings will be boxed up. At that point you can invite someone to come to your town and convince them to move to their town and they will if that person has an open spot.

@ Illusion, NOOK IS A CROOK! ALWAYS HAS BEEN, ALWAYS WILL BE. He even has his kids run his store for him. xD

My biggest piece of advice is to always sell your stuff to the Re-Tail store, they give you 20% more than the Nooks. You can hit all the rocks with a shovel, once a day one will break apart and give you Ore and another one will make a Mario noise and you can keep hitting it til it stops to get lots of money! Also if you shake all the trees in your town you will find 2 pieces of furniture, a bunch of 100 Bell bags, AND BEES THAT WILL STING YOU.

Anything else? Ive been making only 100,000 bells per hour by fishing. (Not much...) And I don't even have my house yet... (Come tomorrow.)

MOE IS AWESOME. You better not let him leave. xD He's one of my favorite villagers of all of Animal Crossing.

I have one of my villagers try to move out at least once every 2-3 days. D: There's only 1 that I want to gtfo and she hasn't offered yet!

I like the change, because honestly... if they aren't your dream villagers, sometimes it just gets boring.

He's one of my favorite villagers too, along with Curly the Pig. (Curly gave me a Froggy SHIRT. A FROGGY FREAKIN SHIRT. Best friend material right there.)

Everyone else I don't care for... The horse creeps me out, the frog lady looks like a creepy Froakie, and quite frankly that Squirrel is asking for it. NOBODY HAS CUTE AND ADORABLE CHEEKS LIKE THOSE AND GETS AWAY WITH IT.

I hope everyone got their picnic basket from Isabelle today if you live in America. :D

Also don't forget that it's also September so there's a new item that you can get from the Post Office for asking for a present. This month it's a moon vanity.

Edit: And yay! Tammy just told me she's leaving on the 9th! 8D Now I gotta get Rudy to want to move by TTing from my other copy and my town will be complete.

I don't know how you get certain villagers, but....I WANT KABUKI!

There's no real way to guarantee getting a certain villager but if you have a Camp Site built in your town you can ask villagers that you like that camp there to move to you town. Otherwise you'd have to buy specific ones off of forums like the one on GameFaqs. When a villager is boxed up, someone from another town can talk to them and ask them to move to their town. I have a 2nd copy of the game that I have been restarting and TTing in to get the villagers that I want and once I'm done getting all 10 I'm going to give it to one of my friends. Right now I'm at 9/10 of who I want with the last one that I don't want on her way out on the 9th of this month. C:
