Just a head's up, Gaia is heading down the drain and many people are quitting/looking for a new avi site.

I've advertised Trisphee a couple times to people asking for other sites, but if any of you wanna help that'd be a possible way to get more activity.

Wow. What happened that so many users are leaving at once? I mean, I know Gaia has gotten ridiculous and absolutely money-hungry over the years (I quit a few years back). But did something specific happen? I'm just hugely curious now :s-shock:

It's only getting worse and worse by each passing day on Gaia, now the the problem with this idea is advertising Trisphee. I no longer talk to anyone on Gaia anymore, and that it's against the rules to advertise other sites unless it's like a friendly conversation.

The problem being is that the people who are angry flock to the forums, not rally or any digital hangout. So you have to mention Trisphee to people complaining about the site in general. Gaia has around 22,000 people on daily now. About half are simply there to complain about the site it seems...

Even if we find a way to advertise Trisphee in someway, the problem still lies that we need to do it all in one big wave or risk everyone leaving right away. With no events running to grab users attention, we risked losing them right away.

Nox Nocturnalis is coming up in October (I think? Maybe November, I forget), so hopefully that will attract/keep the attention of some ex-Gaians =O

Whoa! The finally centered their site! Only took 10 years. xD I like it but it will definitely take getting used to.

It's just kind of weird that the main site is centered but when you look at forums it takes up the entire screen... so that is a bit weird.

I'm watching the storm in site feedback, and playing in it.

for those asking, imagine if we sold a rig with half the stuff for about 50 dollars and sold about ten-to-fifteen of them a week then sold a rig that gave away au in quantities outside of reason in /bulk/

now imagine all the features are glitching and breaking and bugging out and it takes days to fix them and all the while more and more 'pay-to-play- features are being pushed out and some of them are ones people have been asking for for years and none are free or even currency-based and the +10 usd rigs keep coming

Basically Gaia is under new management and this new management gives no shits about the users.

They have destroyed the Gaia economy in less than 2 weeks, and won't listen to anyone's pleas to stop. They are seriously money hungry atm, and a lot of the usuers are just fed up with it.

One thing that I noticed that made a LOT of people leave was the re-release of certain very rare items that they put into the cash shop. The people who had to work for those items felt cheated becuase now others could simply buy them.

dude, that was just the start. the stupid money rig and selling features people want to have as part of the site as a staple is what is riling up everyone

As long as Gaia insists on pushing all the cash items in the faces of the users, there's going to be people complaining about it. Now they've gotten rid of Ask the Admin as well. That was every Monday when some devs/admins would answer questions from the users for about an hour or so. I can't even be angry anymore at this point. Just really disappointed.

Seriously though, what happened to the centering?

centering was a ploy, did you notice they filled it with even more advertising?

They have calmed down a bit on the GC advertising...still too much of it, but I guess it could be worse (but I have adblock and have blocked the sale on GC banner ad and all)

AtA...I don't miss it. The times I have been in there, I was completely ignored while stupid questions like what flavor of poptarts do you like were answered. I realized it was a farce then. At least they aren't pretending anymore.

Also, if some new people don't come, this website will die. I think at least. There's little to no activity except now there is an event. What if the activity dies when the event is over? You'll be wanting the Gaians then to make sure this website doesn't die due to not enough activity.

You'll get some trolls whether you like or not if Gaians come here, but that's the only website I've seen that is losing members at this point (other than a random few that just leave)

Also, I'm originally from Gaia (still go on there too)...I see more of General Discussions that are more chat rooms there than trolls.

I don't feel "welcomed" to post period. I just do it anyway and wait for someone to get angry because of how I worded something when I didn't mean it that way .-.

On Gaia, I feel perfectly fine in the Chatterbox XD It's more of a GD more than the GD is on Gaia now. And the GD is now more of a CB than the CB XD

And I don't mean thousands of Gaians, maybe 100 if they'll be active XD Max...if they're not very active, MOAR!

Well, ParadoxicalIntentions is one that I suggested here, she's a person I respect a good deal, and I knew if one of my friends from gaia wanted a place to go when gaia became bad, that she would be one of many I'd want here.

Gaia was the first avatar site I found.

I've invited people here, but they don't stay long. It's because they're from Gaia and this place is dead, even with the event, compared to Gaia.

Note: Not saying it is good or bad, just saying that's how it is compared to Gaia.

Coming from Gaia to another avatar site can feel a bit odd at first for no other reason than the difference in the amount of features/things to do. Gaia has enough members to keep, most likely, all of the forums at least somewhat active and a number of games for people who don't like to chat, that and you can play said games for as much as you want even when you no longer get gold (the equivalent of Aurum here).

I found adjusting to Trisphee rather easy once I started to actively frequent the site, but this is largely due to the fact that I already became used to smaller, less active avatar sites when I was part of Crysandrea (I just simply adored (and still do) the items and avatars on that site xD, as well as the overall aesthetics :3) so coming back to Trisphee wasn't as hard to adjust as it was when I first made my account here :3.

So, as others have said, you can try to recruit people that have had enough of Gaia's cash pushes and the over inflated gold economy but keeping them will be challenging unless they really like posting and are informed from the get-go that they won't be notified if someone posts in their thread(s) or quotes them ^^;. And those who lurk will probably not last a lot either because there aren't many ways to earn Aurum outside of posting or at least an addictive game they can keep playing even when they don't earn any Aurum for playing it.

Just my opinion/2 cents ^^;.

I just wanted to say this -

I have been on gaia for years, and I am one of those people that just flat out pretty much hate the site now. All I see is the stupid announcements "Buy this old monthly for over $100 !" and its ridiculous. The site used to be a great place to go, but now it just.... sucks.

i was offline there for two days(i saw the minigame so i have been playing when i am bored) and i got four announcements for flashsales an add for a 'hot' sale and a cleanup sale >x> in two weeks you can make enough money to buy everything for sale for two days on gaia, it is horrible, if i did not like the dressup part i would not go at all(i already dont post there or talk to anyone)

OMG. They have POP UPS to advertise cash shop item.

I've been away for a few months because of College and I come back to that mess. ick.

I know I recently went back to Gaia, and noticed how freakin' inflated their items have become. It's insane, and definitely not worthwhile, anymore. All the items I did have deflated 10-20mill and the items I used to have inflated, some to even 43mill.
It's definitely Trisphee's chance. The community is fantastic, the items are beautifully designed, and the artists actually listen to their members on what they want, and aren't making them outrageous and out-of-reach.
I know I've sent a few people here, but it seems they've found other sites to put their attention too, myself included. Whoops.

@Haze- Yeah, I don't even really have any friends on there anymore save for my few friends from the Twilight forum, and at least one was directed here. Also, is that a robot in your siggy?

It really doesn't help that they've all become cheap jerkoffs who just want money for crappy cosplay items...
Had they actually taken time into their items I think that maybe it'd be worth the 30mill.
