The Underground :: Now Open!
Hello there I see that you've fallen into my hole. Welcome to The Underground. I am Firkash, I am pleased to meet you. /bows Your probably wondering: Why is it called "The Underground"? Well you see my avatar will be based off of one of my characters, named Firkash. Firkash is a drow elf, also known as a dark elf. And for those of you who don't know drow elves live underground. (Firkash is different though he lives above ground.) Anyways, I thought giving it that name would be creative. Intro//Rules//Questing//Reserved//Reserved//Reserved//Open |

O.o And thank you! It will take forever.. I just know it. |
So that's an odd thread reaction, is it a sadist or something ?
|
No.
It just didn't like the pain. It knew it was coming though so in turn that made the pain worse. /I have no clue what I'm saying |

Sleep well! And yes it is. That art was drawn by one of my good friends. |
I got ARTSU today.
So I added it to my donators post. |
Contemplating my writing is what I'm up to. I'll be at that for the rest of the month at least. Such is what I'm up to.
How about you? |
Quote:
And ordering art on another avatar site. /laughs |
Ah yes, head colds are damnable indeed. Perhaps much lemon and garlic? Such is what I've heard works. I stick with steamy shower and neo-citrine.
|
Lemon and garlic.. Chicken?
I like that flavor on chicken. /laughs How would you use the lemon and garlic though? So as it to work on my head cold? And I've just been taking sinus medicine and sleeping when I'm tired. Also, Blowing my nose when it needs it. It's almost gone too! |
Apparently just lemon and garlic, though I imagine it would work just as well on chicken as by itself. My sister used to just spread the garlic on toast. You could try mushing the garlic up in a drink with the lemon. Or dodge it all together and just stick with lemon. Garlic is a natural bacteria fighter, as is lemon, and the lemon helps your throat.
|
Well the good thing is I like both lemon and garlic.
I'll try something soon. Spent all day singing and now I'm losing my voice. |
Do share, how did Firkash come to live above ground?
|
Well..
I didn't like the teachings of my people. So violent and untruthful. I wasn't much liked anyways because of my black hair, As all drow have white. So I left. I went above ground and started living with the humans. The first village I went to was nice and they helped me out. But one day a robber came and stole something, I helped them out with my magic and ended up scaring the people who helped me. And now I wonder around aimlessly trying to find a place to stay. (In all honestly there is more to my story but its not developed enough.) |
Ah. I think I have three drow characters (mostly just for the sake of making characters for later stories that never got written) but darn if I can remember their names, and I'm not even sure if there was a third one at all...oh wait! I remember now...there were 5. One party of four, and one loner, two of which make it to the surface. And then there was the drow house led by the insane matron mother, whose daughter is in that party. Forgot about that.
Yeah, I went on a drow kick for a while. |
That sounds like an interesting story.
When I had a drow kick I kept reading Drizzt books. Haha. And I'm the only lowly drow my creator has. |
Yeah, that would do it. I started reading those when I was 11 or so. I stopped after The Hunter's Blades trilogy. Kind of got sick of Salvatore's writing, and I hear they start to get kind of dark after that.
Ah yes, I remember now. Simbiana, drow druid (or ranger depending on if it's the story version or the computer game version), antisocial and with absolutely no care for the political machinations and power struggles of her people, or any people for that matter, preferring the wilderness and solitude, except for the presence of other druids and her black bear friend. |
I stopped at The Crystal Shard because I got bored of that kind of story.
I moved on to other books. Haha. She sounds interesting. I have my solitude also. My only companion is smoking, That I learned from the humans when I came up from underground. |
Updated Commons List
Decided I wanted some more commons. |
Only things like that I ever read were the Nagash series (Warhammer) and Elminster...unless the stories by Mercedes Lackey and all are similar.
|
I read fantasy medieval books mostly.
Dungeon and Dragons books are fun to read. |
Ah, so you hadn't met Entreri yet. Shame. He's a human assassin who becomes obsessed with defeating Drizzt. He features more later on, and gets his own spin-off series with Jarlaxle, though I haven't read those. It was a regular debate on some forums as to which of the two would win in a one on one fight, or with their DnD stats. The Silent Blade would have been my favourite book, along with Homeland.

They also feature a dark skinned, white haired, non human race, and one character of said race could wipe the floor with a few Drizzts without blinking, I'm sure. |
Surprisingly I like the first two books of the Drizzt series.
And I knew there was an assassin of some sort coming. I mean.. This is Drizzt we're talking about. Haha. I like swords and sorcery. It's hard for me to read anything else. |
What was it about the first books you liked? The whole "I'm a drow and no one accepts me" thing does get a fair bit of screen time in the early books, but stuff does switch around a bit later on. Jalaxle, Enteri, and Drizzt are probably the three most popular characters in the series. Salvatore writes his books in such a way that you probably don't need to have read all of them in order, but it does help, as characters made cameos and jump across books and sometimes authors.
Khelben Arunsun, for example, appears in the books of both Salvatore and Elaine Cunningham. Cadderly, the priest from Salvatore's Cleric Quintet (which a number of people think is better than his Drizzt series) also appears in the Drizzt book Passage to Dawn, if memory serves. If you're an elf fan in general, try reading Evermeet, Island of Elves by Elaine Cunningham. It deals with Elven history, right down to how Lloth appeared and how the drow ended up in the underdark. |
