Sid did not like is elemental magics teacher. The blusterous old man seemed kindly at first but behind the smile was an age old hate for elves. Technically class had already ended but the little elf was all that remained of the class; the only one not to cast a fireball spell. Students looked in pity or amusement as they finished their assignment first.
"THAT PITIFUL SPELL WOULDN'T MELT MERCURY!" he bellowed. Sid was starting to wear out. Every time he'd get some fire formed and they would pool towards an epicenter but for some reason it was like the "net" he was catching the fire in would always come loose. This time Sid tried another way. It would make the teacher angry for sure but he never said the fireball had to be casted standing still. Sid took the training stave and drew a circle in front of him. Placing the stave in the middle of it he pulled back, drawing energy into the circle, then forcefully pushed. The instant he did though he felt something was wrong. It was a simple focus but part of it was missing! Sid noticed too late. What was supposed to be a fireball shooting from the tip was a small portal maybe the size of a wagon's wheel. Fire exploded in front of him, sending both the elf and man sprawling. The fire itself didn't stop immediately but instead came pouring out of the portal. Sid could swear it was getting bigger! "Master Dillamond what do we do?" the elf asked fearfully. |
For as long as the Demon called Abaddon could remember he was floating around in a dark wasteland. The only light seemed to be coming from the souls the burned within the vicinity. How brightly they burned, how quickly they extinguished it was all the same for the demon. Oh how he missed the middle world. Long ago he would roam around the middle world making contracts with foolish creatures that came his way. Usually it was the same thing, power. Everyone wanted power and he would gladly give it to him or her, for a price. For the price of ones individuality, their spirit, their very core he can have his or her hearts desires.
A lot of wars were caused because of Abaddon and many others like him, even the one versus the ones called man and elves. It all started when Abaddon granted an elf control of his people’s land. It then escalated to him seeking new land and completely taking it over and the inhabitants. Which were the humans at the time. Humans became fed up with the Elves and wanted freedom, another demon was more than happy to supply them with the powers to defeat their enemy. At some point in time it was realized that demons had a hand in the war and most were hunted and sealed back into their own dimension. Abaddon was eventually caught and sealed by a skilled magician, but not before causing mass destruction, which gave him the name ‘Abaddon’. Ever since then he wallowed in misery. He missed the middle world, he missed causing trouble for the middle dwellers, and he missed his home. He too was a creature of the middle world…but those memories are all forgotten. It had been so long that he’d even forgotten his own name and what he looked like. It didn’t matter when you were a demon. You could shift into any form you wanted so eventually he would forget what form was his original one. He sighed he was bored all and all. There had to be something to do. Even a sign would do, something to give him some type of entertainment. That’s when it happened. His arm began to burn as a magic of some sort wrapped itself around said appendage. In the vast sea of darkness was a light before him. It began to grow slowly to a size big enough to fit himself through it. The scent coming through it was awfully familiar. “The middle world!” the demon exclaimed. A portal had opened to the middle world at last. This was an opportunity the demon wished not to waste. He floated overt to the portal and stepped through it as quickly as he could. The flames from the burning souls also followed him into the portal and exploded on impact. He was not injured but the flame nearly grew out of control. Abaddon easily controlled the flamed and extinguished them. The portal closed behind him after sometime. During which he took his time to survey the area. It had been many centuries since he was last here. He did not recognize his surroundings. It seemed he was inside something. Maybe a structure, like many of the simple homes the newly settled wanderers built. However, this structure seemed to be advanced. It seemed sturdier and seemed to be durable. He wondered how far the middle dweller had advanced in technology. He knew how far they would get but like many demons he was unable to see the present, only the past and the future. He wasn’t even sure the year. The demon’s ear twitched when he heard a voice from behind him. He slowly turned to have two pairs of eyes on the ground. One pair belonged to an elderly man; the other pair belonged to an elf. Abaddon couldn’t help but grin at both dwellers. His smile grew wide, wide enough to show off his pearly canine teeth. They were practically razor sharp. “Well isn’t this a wonderful surprise. I wonder who’s hand it was that has summoned here? You,” The demon looked on two both men. “Which one of you have summoned me here. And what is it that you desire from the demon Abaddon.” The demon looked on, as he demanded answers from the two. They were the only ones in the room as far as he knows the only two here in this structure. One of them must have summoned him here. He could not do it himself as for he was sealed and could not open a portal of his own. |
[[Wow your post is a lot better than mine! =D By the way is three of his physical traits are opposites. Which one is it? By the way you can harm Dillamond, but don't actually kill him. He may be a useful plot point later on.]]
Sid was too terrified to speak. He had actually summoned a demon using the simplest focus and a fireball spell. The master wizard though had some experience with demons. He knew there was no lying to it and he knew there was no chance of sealing it. Not in this room and certainly not by himself. The magnitude of the demon's power washed over him. 'I will hold firm' he thought. The classroom was afire, there wasn't anything he had to do before help arrived. He gave Sid a sharp look before he took a step forward. Using is most carrying voice the master spoke up, "Demon, I am Master Dillamond. Teacher of this elf here." The was the slightest nod, that pathetic show of respect was all he could muster. His hatred for such a creature burned hot as this room. "I know only little about demons and contracts. Best we take it such a conversation where we're not like to burn alive eh?" the old man added with a chuckle. "Sid, boy!" Sid felt a light whack on his shoulder. The young elf nodded and stood up without taking his eyes off the demon. "I-I did. How?" Before he could say anything more the space where the portal was became a band of light and fire. It unraveled and drew itself around the demon and Sid. The elf yelped with fear but didn't burn. His body resisted moving towards the demon but his spirit wasn't strong enough. It felt strange standing in one place and feeling yourself plucked into the air and floating forward. Everything afterwards was a rush of thoughts, not only his owns but presumably the demon's. Then it was over. Sid was back in his body wincing at the pain on his left arm. "Fire!!" he yelped trying to shake the flame off him like bug. |
((haha no that's correct. The first half with (formerly) Are his human traits. The second half is his trait now as a demon. And thanks! Yours looked really cool so I wanted to be on your level of writing.))
The demon took note of the older man speaking. He seemed to have a charming outlook, however the Demon could feel the negative energy deep from within the aging body. He seemed old enough probably struggled with the bitter struggle between the elves and man. His ignorance and hatred was burning, so much to a point that it radiated. The Demon felt a little sorry for the elf. He was not the cause of the events that had taken place, and yet the elves that would come after would suffer the most. The pity was only momentarily, returning to this world he had mixed feelings. Many have already died down already. He chuckled coldly, it could send shivers down anyone spine who had heard it. “You don’t seem to enjoy being this elf’s instructor. Perhaps this one might behold resentment to one who is born with arcane proficiency? Or perhaps it stems from the hundred years of strife between both man and elf?” Abaddon’s pupils, looking as normal as the two before him now appeared cat like. He then turned his attention to the elf before him. He reasoned based on what the elderly man said, that the elf was the one to summon him. But the elf wasn’t exactly sure how he managed to summon the Demon either. The portal behind him began to glow brightly as a fire burning in an open field. The portal transformed into threads and began to wrap themselves around both the Demon and the newly elven Summoner. Interesting, the summoning wasn’t over yet? Oh no…. “We’re going to be binded!” The Demon hissed. He stepped back but the arcane threads held them in place. The elf was dragged toward the Demon. There was a light and before the Demon knew it he could hear his thoughts and the thoughts of the Elf. As quickly as it started it ended. They were two once again, but the Demon felt different. He felt linked with the elf. He could feel how the other felt, his thoughts, he could even hear his very soul. The mark on his arm, that had been glowing the entire process faded and was like a tattoo on the demon’s pale skin. It was written in a language the Demon could read. It was a code that bound them both together. The Demon stared at the elf really hard. Then he reproduced his toothy grin and cackled madly as a hatter would. “Well met, master.” The Demon spoke playfully he walked over to the novice mage and helped him up. “You probably do no understand what had taken place. You summoned me and bound me to you. So I only obey your command and only you can summon me from the underworld. Do you understand?” The Demon turned to catch the old man within his peripheral vision. “And if my master desires it, I can burn this old coot to a crisp.” |
[[Oh! Now your formatting makes sense lol]] Master Dillamond dare not using any form of teleporation spell no matter how sorely tempting it was. The magic he saw happening before him was unnatural. He may have been old but he was still spry enough to run. Years of bellowing and yelling at students assured his lung capacity. By the time he was down the second corridor he saw Professor Vira leading a group of 7th year wizards towards the fire. "Stop! It's a demon! Everyone must be evacuated NOW." She stopped, a brief moment of disbelief in her eyes but one thing everyone knew about Dillamond was that he never joked. "Students keep formation. We're leaving through the white balcony." As the professor over Divining magic she kept a miniature crystal ball on her person at all times. Today it was hidden in the teal jeweled choker on her neck. In a moment she communicated what she needed to to someone on the other side. "A ship will pick us up within the minute." The wizened but younger professor Vira turned her head towards Dillamond, "Where's Sid?" Worry clearly evident in her voice. She loved all the students, but little Sid had earned a soft spot in her heart. The old man knew this; it always disgusted him but he respected Professor Vira's practical approach to traditionally ambiguous magic. "He commands the demon." Dillamond tried his best to keep any harshness out of his tone. Which Vira was grateful for though she was too shocked and worried about the present to truly express it. Sid's left sleeve had burned away, showing his new tattoo clear for all to see, that is if there was anyone other than him and the demon. His professor clearly escaped while they were being binded. The thought of burning Dillamond in his own class room actually felt appealing. He imagined the bitter old man's dying screams and smiled the wickedest smile he ever made. Sid nearly laughed too but paused as his thoughts were scaring him. They felt nothing like his own. In fact he could feel a lot of different things than he normally could. But right now he mostly felt the searing heat. Binded to a demon or not Sid was totally combustible. "Get me out of this fire first." |
((lol sorry if I confused you :B))
The Demon nodded, “As you wish, Master Sid.” Abaddon took hold of the young elf and hoisted him onto his back. He then began to take another form. He increased in size, he grew wings and scales, black a cold and clear winter night. His eyes were glowing bright yellow, his jaw and his teeth as grew. They stretched out to form a muzzle. Soon enough the Demon grew too large for the room and destroyed the roof of the room. He took form of a dragon; he bellowed very loudly, it was like a thunderclap. He flapped his wing and began taking off. Soon they were out of the burning room. Before they took off however, the Demon turned his head and spewed blue flames, when the flames came into contact with the room they cooled down to the same color as the rest of the fire. The whole room was ablaze, let’s see the old fart try and teach in that room ever again. Soon the Demon took off with Sid on his back. He flew over the ships that were coming in to take the students away from the burning building. ‘Do you wish for me to destroy the ships Master?’ At this point Abaddon couldn’t speak as a dragon. However he could commune with Sid, via with the link that was made between them. The Demon hovered over the ships waiting for his next command. He was also careful not to allow harm to come to him or Sid. ‘Also where shall we go? I got you out of the fire as you instructed. Where shall we go from here?’ |
It wasn't until the roof was almost on him that he realized the demon was transforming to a legendary dragon. Sid didn't know what he felt by this point. Everything happening at once was so overwhelming he was starting to become numb. "No, some of those people there were nice to me."
'But maybe later we can visit my enemies' crawled into the corner of his mind unsaid. He clung a little tighter to the demon's neck. It was a hard seat but comfortably fit his body and shielded him from the brute force of the wind. Sitting up here felt so peaceful. And it was sad too. The school was growing smaller each second; that place housed his future, and his duties to the realm. It burned. "40 degrees to your right. There's a canyon, fly low then make towards the sun when the canyon comes to a circle." Knowledge of one's surrounding was typical of elvish teachings. He didn't leave the wall of schools ever but Sid did study the surrounding landscapes and cities. It wouldn't be too long, only a couple hours at most, til an organized party was hunting them down. "The way should take us to a swamp forest. I've never been there but I figure it shouldn't be too different from my home. And humans in this area have trouble navigating places like that." A silence passed before it occurred to him he didn't know what to call this demon. There was perhaps a lot of things it could explain to him. Although he doubt it would explain much willingly at the very least it wouldn't be hard to get its name. Sid though felt too daunted by the prospect. |
'I don’t have a name Master, the other dwellers labeled me Abaddon before I was sealed away by a legendary Magician.'
The Demon did as instructed and flew in the direction given. It was a good thing that the elf knew where they were going. It had been too long for the Demon. The middle world had changed so much. Not even the terrain looked the same. He wasn’t sure if that was the same spot where he had been sealed originally. He had been floating around in the nether dimension. He headed toward the direction of the sun when he’d seen the canyon had come to a circle. Their actual destination was a swamp that wasn’t far from here. The other mages wouldn’t be able to find them there. They’re sure to ask around to where a Dragon was last seen flying. Abaddon wished he’d seen the looks on their faces when the roof blew out and he burned the whole classroom. That would’ve been quite satisfactory. The Demon sensed the elf’s troubled thoughts. 'Do not worry master, I’ll protect you. I don’t have a choice in the matter.' This was very much true. Though he had his own personality, he didn’t have the freedom to do what he wanted. If the mage ordered him to do something, he had to comply. He was quite aware of the magic used on them. Quite old, he actually remembered when it started as binding weapons and armor so that they could be magically summoned. Looks like some mage decided they wanted to bind organic things to other organic things. Abaddon wasn’t sure how he could break the bind either. They would need a mage as old as he was, mages like that were probably Liches and had no desire to help them. A few moments later, they reached the Swamplands. The Demon landed and shifted back to his form. He looked around. He didn’t recognize this Swamp either, yet the scent was oddly familiar. |
[[Smells Familiar? It is an old friend? Or perhaps there a ruin of a place he had been before?]] "No choice at all huh?" If that was supposed to comfort him it worked. Although the elf was still unsettled by their relationship. Starting with their ability to share their thoughts. The demon was undoubtably more practiced at this or a demon's mind was just harder to understand for a mortal like him. It was odd but his manners kicked in after a moment's thought on the demons name. "Abbadon? Your name is still in legends. But I never cared much of fables or history. My divination teacher was always telling me that not knowing the past made scrying useless." Sid added the last part a bit absent-mindedly. He realized then a little productivity- particular towards food and shelter would need to be done. Would a demon enjoy telling tales around a camp fire? Sid could command him to do so but the little elf didn't find it appealing to demand entertainment like some bratty royal commands a fool. "We're stuck in this together...what ever future is ahead of us has never been done before now that I think about it. A more adventurous spirit would be excited. Me? Well for now I'll settle for someplace safe to test things out." Sid was still holding the training stave with him. He started tracing runes in the air to establish a border for the protection spell. Sid had plenty of practice using this spell to keep animals away. Hiding their location was going to take some creativity from the elf...unless "Do you know how to hide us from mages and wizards?" |
The Demon turned and looked at the Elf. He then slowly nodded. He held up his hand and a bubble formed around himself and Sid.
“This should prevent the mages from finding us. This barrier should keep our magic hidden we shall appear as non magical people when they try and track us by magical signal.” The Demon then turned back, looking into the swamp. It appeared as if something familiar was close by. Perhaps a place so that they could stay until the mages cease their search long enough for them to escape. The Demon wordlessly walked into the forest of the swamp. He presumed that his new master was following behind. As he trudged into the forest some things began to seem familiar. He actually remembered these trees. They weren’t actually trees. He continued walking into the forest the exposed roots of the ‘trees’ all lead into the same direction. The way the Demon was heading. At some point he reached the heart of the Swamp. Here, at the center was a large tree. It was massive compared to the other rather large looking trees near it. The roots of the other trees were conjoined with the giant tree. Intertwined with the tree was a structure that seemed worn down and abandoned. It looked like a primitive temple that was a tree house simultaneously. The Demon grinned; he was amazed it was still standing after all these centuries. “Seems those Druids actually had competence after all…” |
The demon- Abbadon, established a mobile protection quicker than Sid could finish writing the borders of his stationary protection spell. 'At least I won't be without a teacher' Next Abbadon seemed to be distracted by something, a vague memory. Sid thought he could almost see this memory. He quickly canceled his spell as keep it from being found and followed.
Sid noticed a few oddities about the trees. Then suddenly the pattern was obvious. Nature doesn't grow like this, especially in a wild place like a swamp. Then they came upon the Mother tree. "Wow" he whispered in reverence. "Magic like this was lost to the ages. That or the druids left are too few for an undertaking like this." |
“Yes, true Druid magic has been lost for ages. I suppose I am partially responsible. There were many living in the area, after I came through, there were none left. I don’t remember why but I was mad at them, so I sent a plague upon them…. and then that plague later reappeared and caused a lot of deaths I think. I don’t know really, don’t care either. We can stay here I doubt the mages know this places exists.”
Abaddon manifested flesh like wings and took hold of Sid. He flew up to the entrance. The inside looked terrible. It seemed like it was in shambles, almost nothing was left inside. The tables were broken down and turned over. Chairs were all over the place as well. Tapestries and cloth was riddled with many holes in them. Anything that was organic had already rotted and turned to old skeletons. “Yeah I definitely remember…it wasn’t a most handsome sight to see them sick. I wonder what was it that made me upset to give them a plague?” |
Casually he replied "A plague would take considerable work wouldn't it? How do you forget something you put effort into?" He sighed trying to understand how a demon's emotions worked.
The remains may have only been a skeleton but Sid could swear some of the bones looked like were screaming. Sid crossed his hand in front of his chest and formed a symbol with his hands as he muttered a prayer for the druids. "They say in places like these tormented spirits will still linger." The elf was was afraid. "If it is true do you know how to send them to the afterlife?" |
“Surprisingly it is far more simple than you may believe Master. Did it ever occur to you how illnesses work? It’s not just expectantly catching something. It’s magic, not just any magic either. It’s curse magic. I just place a spell to make them sick and make their deaths painful. Then everything became intense and soon I ended up wiping out a good chunk of the world population.”
The Demon looked at the skeleton on the ground. It was untouched, moving it may cause it to disintegrate. He noticed the elf posing his hands accordingly and began to pray for the Druids, oh please. The Demon heard his question and shook his head. “Not really, I can’t control a soul unless I’ve made a contract for it. Besides you don’t have anything to worry about. They were pitiful while they were alive. I doubt they’re anymore competent in death.” |
"In other words IF those old bones get up they're not a threat?" Abbadon's disregard for life and death was probably one thing that they would never share. But then again after the war his father was never the same. Would time change Sid for the worst?
"Right about then was when people realized demons were the real problem. The few left were strong and desperate after seeing everything destroyed." Did you learn a lesson from that Abbadon? So many centuries later and the humans probably forgot. But the memory of elves are long. News of a rogue demon binded to another elf would have all the communities in an uproar. Sid's foot caught on a vine, although he couldn't see it one druid had used it as a noose came down upon his head. "Aerdrie!" he shrieked. The little elf frantically threw the bones off him with a psychokinetic spell. The force of it was weak but powerful enough to knock down some more skeletons from the branch above him. They came tumbling down in a bizzare mix of clatter and thud sounds. The little elf was quick to sprint away with a cloud of dust at his heels. The cloud washed over them as Sid stood behind the bigger man. |
“Well if those bones in particular got up, it wouldn’t be for long. It’s been hundreds of years. I bet they turn to dust if you breathed on them.”
The Demon walked around and yawned. He was kind of bored. This was not what he had in mind when he was freed. Then again he didn’t expect to be bound to an elf. He made a note to ask the elf what he did to actually summon and bind him. His ears perked up when the other spoke about the dwellers discovering demons having a hand in their wars. The Demon chuckled and held his hands up as if to say ‘guilty as charged’. “Well those few were idiots then. I continued fighting even as that stupid mage was sealing me away. I…. uh left a few presents for this world. The plague was one of them... I wonder if the others are doing as good...” He was in deep thought for a moment as he tried to remember exactly what it was he set on the world as a ‘going away present’. He was staring at the elf, who tripped on a knotted vine that was used as a noose. Then piles of bones came crashing down. The Demon began cackling madly. It was the funniest thing he had ever see. “I can’t believe even when killing themselves the Druids looked to nature! Gods that’s the funniest thing I have ever seen. You look like a fool Master!” The Demon doubled over and laughed harder. |
[[-squee- I want to play this moment in a video game]] A faint cacophony of voices carried in the air "You...you who ruined me." Sid turned every shade of embarrassed until the red was so deep it was almost purple. "Oh just shut up!" A little upset but smiling despite himself. "STOP. LAUGHING!" The voices shook the core of the tree, Sid could feel the soft ground shaking under his feet. The dust gathered in nine separate little dust devils. The remaining skeletons fell from other vines and turned to dust as well. As more dust collected they spun faster, taking a sickly green hue. "Abbadon they might not be a threat to you but I have no idea how to defend myself against that!" Sid had his stave in ready. They were dust so maybe a shield compressed air? Somehow despite the dust devils the air was completely still. The trunk wasn't nearly open enough to make this spell easy. 'What do I do?!' |
The moment the voices shouted at the Demon, he stopped laughing. He looked at the dust tornadoes that had been created. Oops, maybe the elf was right about that tormented souls staying in their place or what have you. Well this is a turn of unfortunate events. The demon sighed. He looked over to the elf, he was quite frightened. The Demon had nearly forgotten that the elf was still a novice mage. ‘Crap,’ he thought. ‘Not sure what’s going to happen to me if he dies. But I’m not in the mood to find out.’
Using Telekinesis, the Demon pushed the elf to the farthest corner and then covered him with a ‘Shield of Aegis’ spell. “You stay there and watch. I’ll handle the whiney cur.” The Demon turned around and sighed. He cracked his knuckles. “Now where were we?” |
"You killed us." said a voice.
"My own turned on me." said another. " A louder voice "Enough old fools let's just kill him!" The green wisp on Abbadon's right became an image of a young man probably in his mid-twenties. His features might've been handsome except the scowl he made through a face that looked as if it had been eaten by crows. In life the other druid spirits might have shown more reason but the many years trapped on the mortal plane left them with only their grief turned into rage. Every one of them charged save for one who instead created a burly humanoid creature from vines, dirt, and various loose materials in the trunk. It was still forming by the time the other eight were upon Abbadon with various weaponry. |
“Whine, whine, whine, is that all you buggers ever do?”
The Demon chuckled hearing them argue amongst one another. He watched as they all took form. Oh yes he remembered them. Wow they looked pretty ugly with the plague covering their bodies. He yawned, unamused as eight of them charged him. He looked over at the one creating the giant familiar. He rolled his eyes dramatically. “If you think that hunk of dirt and vine is supposed to scare me then you haven’t learned anything from your deaths. I’ve seen worse in the underworld, the heat itself there is monstrous, how about I show you?” As quickly as he said that he busted into flames. The flames grew larger and larger; the flames were a bright blue. The flames began to consume the entire temple. Sid would be quite safe in the shield the Demon made for him. He saw to it that it could withstand his flames. “The flames of the underworld as said to be so hot that they burn the souls that are sent there.” The demon said in a creepy monster like voice, it seems to reverberate through out the now burning halls. The heat was quite intense you could see it melt the very walls. The Tree combusted instantaneously, falling apart at the seams. The souls who were close to the Demon were totally engulfed by the flames. Soon the whole temple was one fire. It was here the demon had to think quickly. He knew the mages would be able to sense his magic from afar. Not only that they will see the flames rising from the swamp. Once he knew that the spirits were destroyed he would quickly morph into a griffin and fly the elf out safely. “Master! Quickly as soon as these spirits are destroyed I need you to guide me to another place. These flames will destroy this swamp. And the Mages are probably alerted. I hope they will believe that we’ve perished in the fire. You better think quickly, because this is all happening in a matter of seconds.” The Demon shouted in the elf’s mind. This was serious matter and if they were to survive this needed to be done now. |
Sid thought the ghost were a terrible sight to behold what Abbadon unleashed next was worse. The fire eat away at everything faster than it ought to. But it never touched him. The demon made sure he was safe, that's what he asked for. But to see, again, just how little regard he had for anything made Sid's temper flare up like the room. "What?! You must think a kid like me has safe havens hidden over the whole bloody planet!" Sid bit any other words he might've had though. Abbadon was right they needed to get away. While the fire couldn't touch him the wood around him might.
The wooden monstrosity one of the spirits summoned was burning but not done yet. In one final act of vengeance the spirit command it hurl bits of itself towards to yelling elf. The elf was apparently important to the demon for some reason. Before the last spirit died he smiled. The debris did it's job. Once Abbadon turned to see his master he would first notice the elf was outside the barrier. Secondly he was on the floor and bleeding. Sid couldn't figure where he was. For a moment he thought the fire was of his home but that had happened already. Then he realized he couldn't breath, not properly. His eye and neck both burned. The tightness in his chest didn't relent no matter how he groaned or tried to move himself. 'Get up. Get up' But even when he almost did Sid started to feel faint, almost cold. The tattoo on his arm started to come alive; it shifted about but as of yet it wasn't doing anything. |
The Demon turned and saw the elf on the floor. He extinguished himself almost immediately. He used his telekinesis and removed the heavy burning wood off of him. The Demon cursed himself for being overly confident. He should’ve casted a duel spell, but if he did he wouldn’t have been able to caste his fire spell to the degree he had it to. But now he was paying the price. He didn’t know any healing spells. He couldn’t use holy spells; he burst into flames if he did. What was he going to do? He picked up the elf from the ground and took him outside and away from the rest of the burning structure.
He started running off into a different direction than the temple, but not towards the school. The school! Maybe someone there knew healing magic. Someone only the elf trusted. But who? The Demon sensed that the elf was still conscious. He attempted to establish a connection with him. “Master please, I know you’re in pain but listen. Who at the academy knows healing magic? I can’t use holy magic, I’ll die. But someone at your school can. Who is it? Show me an image of them with your mind and I’ll bring them here. Please we don’t have time!” The Demon was worried that if they shared life-forces both of them will die. And Abaddon had no intentions of dying here because of an elf. |
"Mamil" he said weakly. A woman was holding him. She was beautiful and willowy like all elf women were with her blond hair and blue eyes. Sid stared into those caring eyes then they morphed into a hellish yellow. "Damn you." The elf muttered but he couldn't really think straight. Sid had his feelings left to him and he didn't like seeing Abbadon in distress, demon or not.
Sid was trying to remember someone with healing magic. The nurses would but he couldn't bring their faces into his mind. They were static figures in an empty room. "Thauron" He remembered another kind elf though he didn't know him. The elf in his memory was full grown, a ranger perhaps or just some wanderer. Sid only had his name and was grateful for his help when some humans of varying ages had cornered him in an alleyway and beat the crap out of him. This Thauron healed a few cuts but considering how beat up Sid was maybe some internal injuries were taken care of as well. |
“Are they even people you trust? Oh what does it matter? Either one will work.”
The Demon attempted to spawn the woman elf his master mentioned. Only he could not. It seems where ever she was; it was a place The Demon couldn’t reach. Oh well, next he tried the male elf, the called Thauron. Using his shadow magic, The Demon abducted the male elf wherever he was and transported him back to the now burning swamp. “Listen mortal, we do not have much time. This young man states that you are trustworthy. He needs to be healed; he is quite damaged on my account. I don’t have any knowledge in healing magic. Please heal him and when you do I shall return you whence you came.” The Demon wasn’t in the mood to force the elf to heal him. But if the elf said no, there would be hell to pay. |
Thauron was standing one moment on a human airship then next his footing nearly slipped on soft dirt. The smell of something buring assaulted his nostrils but it was not as repugnant what he saw. The older elf held on to the belief that sweet little Sídhondir was merely a victim to that hate-filled teacher of his. Perhaps that was still true, but the demon seemed to care about Sid and there was only one reason that could be.
The elf eye's darted only a split second as he assessed his situation. But he hurried into action nonetheless. "You were reckless demon. I will heal Sid, but I am not leaving my charge. If you send me away I will find him and I will bring others with me." 'You know which choice is better for you demon.' Thauron lifted Sid gently with a similar telekinetic spell as Abbadon's. He started the healing spell as he was being pulled away from the demon so the faint aura would burn the vile creature, just a little. Elf healing magic differed some from humans. They were thankfully still in the swamp- similar to the home of both the elves and once home to druids. A green aura floated out from the plants surrounding them and traveled gently, yet swiftly, into Sid. Sid's body tensed, he looked like he would scream but nothing came out of his mouth. Over the next minute or so his body knitted itself back together The advantage of this kind of magic was that it took very little toll on Thauron so he could resist the demon should its will be opposite of his own. Normally Thauron would attack it at this point but while he had potent spells against hell spawned filth Thauron had no training to subduing a demon. Until he could ascertain the situation it was better for Sid to remain alive and thus Abbadon needed to be well enough to get them away from here. "Humans are coming now on their airships. The school's ships aren't fast like the military models so we can run ahead long enough to slip. If you trust me I can find us a place in the swamp they will overlook." Thauron handed Sid over again to the demon. If there was a time Abbadon could send Thauron away it would be now. The elf looked back, "I hope you are as sure footed as you seem strong. The place I am looking for is not easy to get to." |
“Just do what I asked you to do.”
The Demon said rolling his eyes. Maybe it was because of being banished hundreds of years or even not having a soul is what made The Demon sounded so disconnected with emotions. Even as his master lay injured The Demon found another way to be even more reckless. He still felt the need to assert himself among the mortal kind. The Demon sighed and was in the motion of folding his arms when he felt the burning light of the older elf’s healing magic against his forearm. Abaddon hissed and turned away to assess the damage, it was a pretty bad burn. He turned to the elder elf, eyes looking like mere slits and sharp teeth bearing. “Filthy long eared leprechaun!” He stood glaring at the elf until he mentioned trusting him and taking him and the unconscious elf to a safe haven in the swamp. Abaddon looked at him incredulously and began to laugh. He continued to laugh until he sounded like a hyena. Abaddon eventually calmed down and shook his head, still grinning. “Right, like I should trust someone who just burned me? Right? You expect me to do such a thing? Ha! You make me laugh.” The Demon anxiously took his master back in his arms. Better out of the other’s incase the older elf wanted to flee with him. He could take the ships out himself, but that would require massive amounts of magic. Abaddon had been showing off a bit, scaring the little elf with his destructive magic. It seems it may be catching up to him. He needed time to build up his magic again, time that could be killed if he went along with the older elf. Abaddon didn’t like this guy at all, ‘You could trust him as far you could throw him.’ Still he needed time and he really needed to get Sid out of the swamp to save his own hide. Well then, fine he would go along with this ‘Thauron’ and get Sid to safety. Then he would rid himself of this nuisance once they were free. But first, he needed to make sure that the elf didn’t try any funny business. He had a feeling he should’ve just sent him back, but he didn’t have any other option. “Alright lead the way, it shouldn’t be too much trouble. So long as I am uninjured in anyway or else…poor Sid here will face vast consequence, gruesome consequences.” The Demon grinned his teeth glinting brightly, ready to render flesh if need be. “And we wouldn’t want that now would we?” The Demon said in a mocking tone, as a mother would to a child. Speaking gibberish to a child in a high tone ‘cutesy’ voice to make the child laugh. He hoped the other got the message because they were going to get off the wrong foot if he didn’t. |
[[haha I love his insultxD Also that trap spell Thauron did is meant to keep Abbadon wandering in circles. Essentially the bog itself will try to keep him from leaving. ]] Thauron took a malicious delight in the demon insulting him though his body language never let that show. His training was too strict to allow such. Besides would the pleasure really be malicious if it was a demon? "You could do plenty to me. But right now I'm advantageous enough for you to bide your time. Demons are good at that I hear so I better hope I'm lucky enough to win when the time comes." The elf couldn't help taking the threat seriously, at first that is, Thauron had already turned on the demon in an instant. But then he only smiled back. It was a short smile, one that quickly vanished into the elf's stern face. "I don't know why yet but you need him alive. Sure you can hurt him to hurt me but...the only reason I need Sid alive is political." The elf was calm, practically clinical when he spoke. How the Sid reacted when he woke up would tell him plenty. Thauron also knew Sid better than the demon did. Things thus far relied on the demon's patience. Something he was pushing already. About an hour later Thauron found the spot he was looking for. It wasn't a specific spot per se. Like Sid this swamp was unfamiliar to him, but it shared similar traits. "Here. The place is saturated with magic so they shouldn't detect us." Using his index finger Thauron drew a protection spell over Sid. He and the demon were experienced enough to resist the effects of the dense magical aura of these bogs but the boy was not only inexperienced but too young. The chances were unlikely but even a weak one like Sid could gain massive and uncontrolled power here. Especially considering the boy's lineage Thauron didn't want to risk it. After finishing the initial protection spell Thauron did two more: one to ensure the demon couldn't leave the bog without his consent, second to ensure he couldn't be killed without consequences. The spells were rapidly done and, he hoped, effectively cast. The effort of it of course sapped his strength considerably. Thauron lied against a trunk helplessly as he started to grow faint. If at least the second spell worked properly there was still a very good chance he would live through the night. It is too late to back down though. He played his hand and now it was the demon's turn. Thauron prayed to his gods that he was crafty enough even for a demon as the world went out. |
((yeah i wanted to use fairy but leprechaun sounded more funny. Uhm could you explain what each of the spells did exactly? I'm confused. I thought Thauron casted a trap on the demon and I have this half typed thing and now I gotta start over because im confused :"c))
|
[[I"m sorry, I did try to keep it understandable. >_< The holy trap is weak but should leave Sid unscathed while harming Abbadon if he disables to tracking spell. I don't know what the consequences are yet but it's another trap spell that activates if Thauron dies. It won't be powerful in itself since he is casting all these spells at once though so probably something to do with the swamp. The first spell is like...Mirkwood forest from The Hobbit movie I guess. The immediate surround swamp conspires to keep them trapped there in any way in can. Thauron is one of the few remaining modern druids so it's not a common spell. He's killable but I'd rather he dies after some interactions with Sid to further to plot after his death (but I haven't planned how/why. I'm just prepping us to avoid a writing into a corner). Also about the protection spell placed on Sid. The bog is like the Dagobah swamp Yoda hides in in the original star wars. Where the "force" is especially strong and has an effect on force sensitives. The only reason it would affect Sid so profoundly is because he's still so young and so the veil between worlds is thin for him. I didn't mean for this to be so complicated it just happened. LIke I combined a bunch of ideas from other people's stories into there. I'll cut it out if you want me to. There is such a thing as too complicated I know. and also perhaps this is close to god-modding in a sense I made Thauron this powerful? Did I cover everything? ^_^;;; ]] |
(( yeah, no 'tis fine. I think having too many spells over complicates things. Like I thought there was this ring of holy magic trapping abaddon in. and i had him do this whole self monolouge and admitting to kinda accepting sid as his master and how he grew on him, then i reread it and i got cofuzzled. So maybe 2 spells at most should be used instead of four. Maybe pick the two you like the best. Don't worry about the protection spell. I don't count that as it is heavily needed. Just so it's not too complicated. I'll reply in the morning. I'm tired.))

[[OKay, nighty night Xero. I'll fix that post right after this. ^_^
EDIT: done]] |
Abaddon was confused, this place looked no different than anyplace else he’d been in the swamp. The only point to note was the large amounts of magic, and then he noticed that the other was putting a protection spell on him, why would he do that? As soon as Thauron began casting his first spell The Demon gasped and then growled angrily.
“I knew it! You backstabbing cur!” Abaddon was honestly caught off guard and couldn’t react properly. He didn’t have time to prevent the other from casting his spells with rapid succession. Lucky bastard The Demon felt the spells encoding rules onto him. Damn, it would be a while if he wanted to decode it himself. Elf magic wasn’t something he had the chance to learn. Elves and Humans found some form of peace AFTER he was sealed. And he couldn’t see what they were developing presently. He swiftly turned to the older elf and held out a hand. The shadows around him were sliding up to his neck and tried to strangle him. Abaddon felt something very wrong happening so he let the other go. Instead he casted the spell he used to bring Thauron. The shadows that were previously strangling the elf were now wrapping around him and began to pull him into the puddle of darkness beneath him. “So you made it so I couldn’t kill you, big deal. I’ll just be sending you back to where you were. I’ll be taking Sid now. So take a good look at him because it’ll probably the last time you will. I’ll see to that. Also I’ll figure out what the other spell is. I can undo it so that won’t be a problem. Have fun.” The Demon nodded as he watched the other sink into the puddle and resurface back on the ship he was in. Once Thauron was gone, the shield protecting Sid faded. The Demon walked over and picked the boy up. “Okay master off we go.” The Demon began to walk off with Sid in tow when suddenly tree began coming to life and encircled him. Great, he believed he figured out what the other spell was. “What do I have to do to get out of here!? Burn the whole damn swamp to the ground!?” You know, that wasn’t such a bad idea. Not only he could get out of here but also he could show the others who they were messing with. Abaddon covered both him and Sid in a shield. This Shield would protect them from the fire and the stupid forest. Abaddon created a focus with his hand and allowed the fire to spark from a close tree. Soon the fires spread quickly; one after another the trees were burning. Abaddon then walked with the shield still protecting them. In a matter of hours the swamp would be gone. Demons were destructive in that sense, even though he would destroy a whole swamp, something new would come from it. It’s how life and death works. That’s why it doesn’t bother The Demon that he’s destroying homes of animals and maybe people. They will find their own way, and someday something better will be here. Abaddon shifted his form and Sid’s so they looked like a father and son. No one would question them should they get into town. |
[[uh oh Abbadon you really shouldn't have done that. Avatar state activate! =p I have no idea where this is going to go now. Abbadon can't lose so how will he beat Sid in this state?]] There wasn't audible sound but somehow the screams of the trees could be heard when the fire hit them. The original four were swinging in with full might against the shield. The murky waters in the muddy forest stirred from their pools to put out fires spreading out from the demon but as the fires were extinguish the demon came starting more and more. More than trees were striking the shield now. It seemed the whole forest was striking the shield now by whatever means it had and to no avail. They burned and they screamed. The nearest vegetation was now charred black. The spirits of the forest didn't have strength to harm their aggressor but behind the shield they felt a familiar and powerful blood. The being went unnoticed at first because it was so weak but now they he was noticed the spirits joined together. Various shades of green, gold, blue, and other colors combined in front of the flames and shot through the hazard like arrow and into the shield. The energy adjusted to the shield enough for some to break through and reach the little elf in the demon's arm. For the first time in the last hour Sid stirred. Then with a sudden ferocity the young boy screamed. "AHHHHHH!" his voice should have been small but the forest itself seemed to scream with him. With a burst of telekinetic force the elf pushed himself out of Abbadon's arm. He was no longer himself but a conduit for all the latent power the forest could not normally tap into itself. His eyes glowed bright white, the light even shone from his mouth when he screamed. It was pure energy coming from him. Thauron, weak as he was, felt what was happening below the airship. "Leave. Now. Forest hurt...will kill...all that doesn't belong." With a shudder he was out again but his words were relayed to Master Dillamond. True the man had no love for elves but the forest's screams were touching a primal part of him. The ships were departing and just as they started clumps of mud started to hurl up from the depts of the swamp and ramming the bow of the ship. Back on the forest floor Sid looked at the demon with fury. Energy erupted from his body and formed 2 Sid doppelgangers and they each attacked in succession. The first formed a barrier in front of the trio, the second one hurled an ice spear, and the third called on lightning from the skies. It would be interesting to note only one of the doppelgangers had the hellish tattoo. It glowed and spun furiously. That Sid seemed to be in the most pain as well. |
((I think Abaddon will play it safe and try to fix the mess he’s made. I think sid is influencing the humanity he lost. Lol I thin sid is domesticating abaddon. ))
The forest seemed to be charring as The Demon expected. But something went horribly wrong. Of course he could hear the screams of the spirits but they seemed to be calling for help. The only one who seemed to answer was the unconscious elf. He awoke with a scream but it was not only his own. It seemed to be the voice of the forest. Abaddon was knocked back and then Sid…. Sid felt something otherworldly. It felt all too familiar to Abaddon. Did he know the spirit that controlled Sid? He didn’t have time to ponder the question as clones that Sid created attacked him. One put up a shield, another tried to impale him with a spear made of ice, and the last one summon a lightning storm. There was no way he could tackle all of these without hurting Sid. He noted how the other was in pain. Damn it seems the world around him has changed so much in the last hundred years he was gone. There was never this much of consequence when he destroyed things. Now it was like whatever he destroyed tries to destroy him. Abaddon was kind of stuck, for once the hotheaded, hit first and ask questions later demon was at wits end. He still didn’t understand his bind with the elf. So he couldn’t kill him, not that he would want to. It’s not like he likes him or anything! It’s just that the kid kind of grew on him. Yeah, he really did. Now The Demon won’t express such like or admit he did. He really did mess up this time now did he? There was one alternative, he hated it because it would require him to apologize and admit he was wrong. But it was his only choice he had to do it. He just hoped that Sid would not be conscious to see this. Abaddon produced a shield of his own, that way the clones would not disturb him. The Demon began create a focus, not just a focus but a summoning focus. This would require a lot of magic so there would be a lot of recovery time needed. He already exhausted a lot of magic. It didn’t bother him now, until he had to do this summoning. The summoning circle began when the demon bit his thumb and wrote the first summoning rune. The rune began to grow white and began to spread out to form a circle. As it tried to reach both ends, more runes were made. These actual runes were seen in the old druid temple. This meaning Abaddon actually knew some Dryad magic. Once the circle was completed the circle began to turn green. The ground underneath began to brim with life. The flowers and grass that was burned there began a new. The grass was greener than it was before and the flowers were brighter and just more beautiful than they were previously. There was a bright light and a figure was coming out of the ground. The figure appeared to be animal like in appearance. As soon as the creature was summoned, the light began to fade to reveal a doe. A large doe with grass on top of her head and antlers made of branches. The grass started from on top of her head and trailed down her spine. Flowers were covering the grass all on her back. Her face wasn’t a face of a doe but that of a mortal woman. The ground beneath her was livelier now that she was on the mortal plane. She stared at The Demon unfazed by his presence. She had an inviting aura that made Abaddon sick to his stomach. He looked at her also unfazed; it was like they respected both of their presence. Something Abaddon would never be caught doing. But this was an emergency. “Spirit of forests. I….I…I have made an error in judgment. I was cursed to be unable to leave the forest so I thought burning it down would solve my dilemma but as you can see it has not. Because of my lack of judgment the forest possessed my master and id trying to kill everyone. Now I don’t care for the other but the elf, he only matters. The only way to save him is to restore the forest as it was. I have summoned you knowing you and only you can do this. So I The Demon known as Abaddon need your help. Will you help me?” The spirit stared at Abaddon before trotting off into the forest. As she did the flames extinguished and the charred forest was being restored, the doe trotted over the burned areas and restoring the life into the burned areas. Abaddon hoped that the forest dwellers would see that he admitted his error and is fixing the problem. The Demon’s body quivered, he over exerted his ability summoning a near god like deity like the forest spirit. Once the healing was done she would disappear. The Demon looked at Sid, waiting for the forest’s reaction. They better hurry because he was feeling light headed. |

[[Please forgive this post being a bit uninspired. I've used up all my ideas right for getting these two safely anywhere ^^;]] Sid's eyes grew wide first with amazement then adoration. He bowed as the great spirit walked past. When he was back up he seemed to look at Abbadon with disdain and uncertainty. Ash was not the only evidence left to remind them of what he had done. There was the damaged mighty tree at the center of the swamp. But while it may be dead, a seedling was already sprouting up in its place. The little elf floated back to the ground and exhaled all the spirits like it was the easiest thing in the world. Then his body fell. He didn't know where he was yet. His head was pounding. "Make it stop" he whimpered, tears welled up in his eyes yet it didn't make much sound. |
((lol that's okay, I spent my best idea on the spirit of forests xD Besides it recovery time. This should buy us some thinking time ))
The Demon weakly stumbled over to the elf, he knocked him out with a spell and attempted hoisted him over his shoulder. Meanwhile the Spirit of Forests was nearly done with healing the forest. She came over to the seedling; the Spirit shed a single tear. It was all that was needed and the tree grew mighty and tall pretty quickly. The Spirit returned to The Demon and noticed he lacked the strength to even carry the elf out of the forest. Instead the Spirit took both the elf and The Demon and carried them to a hidden cave behind a waterfall. The Spirit placed them both gently on the ground and headed out of the cave. There was a bright light and the Spirit faded away. The Demon could no longer stay conscious and drifted into darkness. But he wouldn’t have to worry about being found. The Spirit made sure they two were safe and hidden away. The sounds of the falls were kind of soothing, allowing Abaddon to relax and fall asleep. |
The next morning Sid woke up and found himself leaning on Abbadon's arm. Sadly the insanity of yesterday was all real. There were things he felt happened that he should've remembered but then again a lot of things happened so how could he remember it all?
The forest was already humming with all the wildlife that came out in daylight. He missed the sunrise and normally he was an early riser. Then he asked himself the usual question. Should he get up now or try to carefully move without waking the "person" next to him? Well now was a time to find if Abbadon was a light sleeper or not... Carefully the little elf moved away and wandered towards the waterfall. Classic cave-behind the waterfall hiding space, he wondered how Abbadon found it. Sid was also curious as to what was behind it, how far had they gone? |
