In all their incarnations, these guys are the weirdest band to ever grace the planet. They defy every genre convention and sound nothing like any other band I've ever heard of. Their lyrics are so strange they're drugs within themselves. I suppose it's a bit of an acquired taste, but if you want to listen to something COMPLETELY DIFFERENT, give them a try. I'd also just like to add that they're better defined as a work of audio art rather than just a band.

About Them: Formed out of the genius of Jenn Ghetto and Matt Brooke, Carissa's Wierd inhabit a very special place in the Indie Rock scene, sometimes referred to as Slowcore. As the name implies, their songs are rather slow and very emotional. The lyrics too, especially on songs like "So You Wanna Be A Superhero", it has this dark emotional side that makes you want to burst into tears, but not in a bad way, by any means. They're truly one of a kind. Sadly, they have been split up for half a decade. Since then, Jenn Ghetto has moved on to record solo under the name "S", while Matt Brooke went on to play with Band Of Horses, and later formed the band called Grand Archives.

TMB is like famous from where I'm from, no.1 songs on the radio etc.
They're not a garage band, they're actually really really popular.
And I'm not from England or anywhere close even.
I'd think they're not so famous in non-english speaking countries, but from what I've heard and seen, they're real popular England/America/Australia o - o.

The last musician I never heard of was Jay Gaunt. I heard part of his Harmonicopia album, and it was fantastic. The blues are not something I normally listen to, but this could make me change my mind.

A band that I used to love as a teen but cannot find any music of is BOINK!

I doubt many people have heard of them... more then half of their scrobbles on this one song on last.fm are by me.

About Eyeshine is a four piece, "edge rock" band originating in West Hills, California. Eyeshine currently consists of members Johnny Yong Bosch (vocals, rhythm guitar), Maurice Salmin (drums, piano, backing vocals), Crystal Mesina (bass), and Eddie Colmenares (lead guitar).

And I am sure many of you know of Bosch. (Voice Actor of Ichigo, Lelouch, Renton, Vash. And many others)

It's a Japanese duo.
They play cyber punk....... I'm not sure.

Anyway... They're quite good.

I don't know if you've heard of them or not but one of my favorite unknown (or semi-unknown) bands is Dead by April.

Smashing Pumpkins surprises me, but I guess it depends on when the band in question was popular or if it was popular in the area one happens to be. They were really popular when I was in highschool. "Tonight, Tonight" and "Disarmed" (if I have that one right) are the songs I hear most of the time.

I know Default as well, but I live in the city they're from so I can't say how well known they might be worldwide. "Wasting My Time" is the song I've heard most from them. It was on the radio quite a bit.

Smashing Pumpkins is an OLD as hell band xD <3 And, one of my very favorites!

I got to see them live. Which is rare. xD;

Its a small Low stream band that started up in my city topeka, they have amazing heart touching songs and in my opinion are really good. If someone see's this and approves please let me know because i love knowing that i have gotten someone hooked to a band

I personally love sharing Detektivbyran with people. ;3 It's... unique compared to anything else I can think of. Artistic instrumentals, but really beautiful music. Definitely something different and not overly well known. Give it a try if you like!

A few of bands you may have never heard of. Machinae Supremacy, practically invented SID metal, and they are one of the greatest bands I've ever had the pleasure of listening to. SID comes from the SID chip installed on a commodore 64, so most of their influences stem from video games, and what not. They are soooo~ amazing though, and they even covered a few famous songs such as Lady Gaga's "Paparazzi," and Brittney Spears' "Gimme More."
Another is Ayreon/Arjen Lucassen/Star One. They're all composed by the same guy. He's created songs from Heavy Metal to Folk Music. There's rarely a song I couldn't reccomend, and most of his albums are concept albums (for those not familiar, an album that is more or less an album wrapped around a story.)
Last, Celldweller. An electronic/rock one man band. This is a man I aspire to be one day. You may have heard his music somewhere, but you couldn't put your finger on it. Well, mostly he's used his tracks in video games, commercials, television shows, etc. so it's no wonder that you may have heard the tune somewhere. One of the more famous ones songs is "Shapeshifter" which was used in a Need For Speed game.

Let's see....ItaloBrothers, The Devil Wears Prada, Dead by Sunrise, Fort Minor, The Calling, Crazy Town, Deadmau5, Mudvayne, Nightwish, Red.

That's the big ones from out of my library that I think most people may not have heard of.....

Most people I know are familiar with Nightwish, but that may just be the company I keep. I only have one album of theirs, Once. I hear Oceanborn is the best one.

Don't think I've heard of that one. I looked the band up for a school assignment on finding random Nordic thing to chat about in class (went with Apocalyptica, ultimately). Did the vocalist change?

My favourite song of theirs is Ghost Love Score, which I think I got separately from somewhere. Another one would also be the one that I think is in Finnish that I can't spell much less pronounce.

I'm fairly certain that the vocalist didn't change. My favorite song of theirs is Whoever Brings the Night....though Last of the Wilds is a close second.

i recently found this song called fireflies by owl city. i love the song but never heard of them before.

I'm willing to bet most of you haven't heard of Slow Roosevelt, Melt-Banana, Liturgy, Lard, Old Man's Child, Onkel Tom Angelripper, Gehenna, Primer 55, The Ernies, The Mad Dash, Bloodcum, Noisem, The Darkness, and/or Lost Society.

If not, I recommend them.
