Think of a cross between Puzzle and Dragons (one leader, four subs, one friend; active and leader skills; stamina that refills over time and when you level up; evolution that requires collecting rare materials; a set of dungeons that end in bosses; three currencies -- friend, coins, and gems; separate gacha machines for friend points and gems; collaboration events with other games and anime; a free-play dungeon with no rewards; bonus rewards for the first time you clear stuff; daily XP-material dungeons; etc.) and... Rock Band (the mobile version, with three tap sensors).
Unfortunately the reason I don't expect the thread to go very far in discussion is that it's Japanese-only and installing it without sideloading it (like I did) is a serious pain in the butt (iOS) or impossible (Android). But still... I am having a *LOT* of fun with it. I've been playing Deemo a lot lately so I've already gotten my touch-screen rhythm game skills refined, so (once I got the audio calibrated correctly) it took a while before I came across a song that took me more than one attempt to get a full combo on (that is, never get anything less than a Good rating on a note). I think Show By Rock!! might have slightly more forgiving timing windows than most rhythm games, though; I've gotten several Master Combos so far (that is, never get anything but Perfect ratings on notes) and I've never done that in any rhythm game before in my life, not even on easy songs. EDIT: Oh yeah. There's also an anime! |
Important Information. (WIP)
Angels are EXP Fodder. Fuse them to one of your band members to level them up and make them stronger. You can get these from the Event section on the Home Menu ホーム. During the week days, they will have up an Angel event. A different color for each week day. Also the 'New Song' selections give out these angels but you can get them randomly from other places. http://i59.tinypic.com/2wgvp82.jpghttp://i58.tinypic.com/24nnw4h.jpg Music Sheets are items you get from weekend events. They are used to evolve the bands to make them stronger. To get to the evolution screen go to the home menu and then to Band. From there choose a band that has hit its max level and evolve them if you have all the Music Sheets needed to do so. Coin Cards are cards you can sell for Sound dollars. http://i59.tinypic.com/be9g2e.jpg ---------------------------- Skills: Passive Skills 「パッシブスキル」 Active Skills 「アクティブスキル」 Score Boost Cスコアブースト☆2 Healing Pテンションヒール☆2 Soul Boost -WIP- |
DK plays on Android so DK can sideload if DK can deal with a UI in Japanese. (It requires Google Play Services though so you might not be able to play it on your Kindle... You have another Android device, right?)
My cell is android, (friggen google play =o=) i wonder if my cell can hold anything more. >o< I have like.. 3-4 Apps, PAD, Kanji Senpai, and Tangorin
the other apps i need for life reasons, >x< I wish these cell's could upgrade the built in memories ;-; send me a link to the APK for me to sideload it ;D i'll do it tomorrow, i'ma bout to head to bed |
Wish your cell wasn't a ninny with memory, I use an SD chip with mine wonderfully for storing things like photos and numbers, so I have more room for apps.
i only saw the the cell phone with PAD on it and the puzzle playing then the PAD logo and then the 3DS game popping up then poofs
my cell has internal and external and internal is 2GBs.. >x< |
Mine is only that but I have a lot more apps then you. ^^;
I had an amazon app and vine i deleted those. my phone came with a crap load of things i don't want and my contacts and all that can't be moved to the outside SD card
OuO I like this Rock game coda sent me, gives me a chance to practice my kanji even more.. SO MUCH KANJI! Dx |
Yeah, I'm having trouble keeping up with the kanji. @.@ I can muddle through enough to be able to play the game but for example the band episodes just totally lose me.
Haha, do we have friend codes for this game?
Yeah, and I've found where to put one in, but not where to get my own. ^^()
Wish I could help you guys. ^^;
hehe i love when i log in they go "SHOW BY ROCK!" so cute
i guess i gotta finish the tutorial before exploring the rest of the buttons ._. edit: coda I think i found where you put your friend's ID to add them in the menu, friend, friend search (tansaku) メニュー フレンド フレンド探索 I did good YES!? 8D The place where we find our own ID is the last option in the friend menu right? the one with all those kanji @0@ I 'THINK' my ID is 436240966 I THINK! D8 my user name is 鬼子 |
"ARE YOU READYYYYYY?"
Sometimes the "Show By ROCK!" voice is male. |
The male voice was the one I got this time!
let me know if I found what we needed ouo |
That bottom one says "tomodachi wo" something something; the last character is 待 as in 待つ (matsu) "to wait". Cross-referencing my dictionary... ah, it's 招待 (shoutai) "invitation".
My ID is 695408375. The friend search function (second button) also allows searching by nickname; mine's Coda. On that note: Friend request sent! |
You should check out the events. There's a couple different ways to get to the events screen; there's one on the home page and one that's a blimp at the top-right corner of the tour screen.
We just missed the Dohton Bori collaboration, but I think it may have been out of our leagues as starting players, but there's a free-play event and a daily XP bromide event. If you're good at rhythm games it's actually possible to beat the Normal-level XP courses (although you won't be able to get the challenge bonus until you've leveled up enough to have sufficient Soul to KO the boss) which is worth a couple of SR bromides (basically, King Gem/Metal Dragons). It costs 15 stamina, though, so the Easy ones (which drop 2-3 R bromides, similar to a High Gem/Metal Dragon) are still worth it because they only cost 5. Also, don't forget to roll on the friend gacha! There's actually a small chance of R bromides dropping from it, which will really boost your teams. Also also, be sure to do the bingo. :P |
Coda you scared me! xD Splitting the thread like that, i refreshed the PAD thread to get a "Thread does not exist" .. its not the thread that didn't exist, it was the PAGES!
Thanks for the translation on that button =) |
Me sowwies :( Bad moderator, no cookie.
xD well since you got 1 person to play this game, it did need its own thread.
failed full combo >x< |
I've been playing super-high-level songs in Deemo, which has a MUCH harder play style (notes can show up anywhere across the screen, not just in three fixed columns), and getting FC's on difficulty 8 (out of 10) songs. Show By Rock's early levels are a cakewalk by comparison; my problem is that I can handle the note sequences of the harder songs but my team isn't strong enough to actually complete the requirements.
hitting 2 notes at once is what gets me.. cause how i hold the phone and i use my stylus to play
Ah, don't do that. :P Hold your phone in both hands and use your thumbs, as if it were a game controller. (Because it is!)
Of course then you're in trouble when you have to press all three at once... my current approach to that is to hold it in my left hand, use my left thumb and right index finger for most of the song, and my left thumb, right index finger, and right middle finger when I need to hit all three. |
i screw up more when i use my fingers ono my nails are long and makes it hard to see if the notes are ready to be hit xD
Then I guess you need to put the phone on the table and play with two styluses like drumsticks. :P
then i'd have to buy another Dagi stylus OnO -dk likes dagi stylus thingies- x3
So right now there's a mini-event going on with various challenges, and they give out pretty good rewards. (I got a SSR-rarity XP angel from one.)
The first two challenges are pretty easy -- they're just moderate-difficulty songs (I think *****?) for lower stamina cost than you would normally encounter them, making them approachable for players that would still find them challenging. The third challenge is FUN. It's presented in "ghost" mode, which is like DDR's "hidden" mode -- the targets fade out as they scroll down the screen, so you have to look ahead by a beat or so. This still throws me off some, even with as much experience as I have playing rhythm games; I DO look ahead when playing, but I'm used to keeping an eye on the targets as I hit them so I can make sure I'm not moving too fast or too slow, and having that gone makes it harder for me to stay in rhythm, especially since the notes are more closely spaced at the top of the screen and spread out as they go down -- faster, more complex rhythms are really hard to read up there. The fourth challenge bumps up the difficulty of the song enough that I failed it when I tried it, and while I can afford the stamina cost I have better things to do with it :P By the way: Don't forget to pick up evo materials today! They drop from the sheet music event, and they're required to evolve the bands once they reach max level. |
so much info xD coda is good at this
Well, I had to take the effort to figure it out, so I might as well share, right?
i kinda wish we could make a wikia page for this cause searching through the thread might become a pain. maybe we use our first few posts to keep gathered important information? make sure the Japanese is there with translations so people know what to look for? info on how to side install to the different devices..
There already is one, actually.
o3o really? thats cool.. kinda sad we couldn't make it xD
Might be a good idea to set up our own fansite for it anyway, the existing Wikia seems... mediocre -- more focused on the anime than the game, really.
bleh... i wouldnt know where to starts xD
I'd probably start with screenshots and translations of all of the major screens, so people who can't read Japanese can navigate the app. Next I'd start making pages for the various bands and bromides to document their abilities (again, so people who can't read the language can figure out what their stuff does).
Somewhere along the line I'd like to translate the episodes, because they're cute but really hard to follow if you don't have a good vocabulary or if you're not good at reading accents. |
translate... -stares at all the kanji- o3o Kindle apps are going to be needed -goes to download-
I'm surprised your bromides are such low level, DK. Have you not been running the daily events?
i just suck at this game xD i fail the events each time
Even on the low level ones? :X Meep. Maybe you should play the free-play event to get more practice at the game without burning through your stamina. ^^()
its more of the fact that my phone lags and so like 5 bubbles pass me and even though i tapped at the right time, it doesn't register cause of the lag ;-;
I WAS SO CLOSE LAST NIGHT AT A PERFECT COMBO! -cries- |
