[M] Nari's Sketchbook | Updated! [O&UC]
http://i66.tinypic.com/zlb3fd.jpg W E L C O M E! Hey! Welcome to my sketchbook. I will try to keep updating this as much as possible, but I gotta be honest, sometimes I forget I have a gallery on a site. It's bound to happen, so please forgive me on that front. Please be sure to follow the rules. NO! NONE OF THE ART HERE IS FOR YOUR PERSONAL USE! If you want to display any of it, please ask me first, and credit me if you do. |
H E L L O! W E L C O M E to my gallery. My name is Nari. I do not claim to be a professional, though this really is my biggest passion. I am 26 years old, working as a mentor for a call center in the state I live in. I primarily draw western-style anime, or semi realism. I will admit that I am not fantastic when it comes to animals, and I have a ways to go with poses, and expressions. But practice makes better, I think, and I am working my way there. Please enjoy yourself here. I will try to post new pieces as they are completed. For all other art not shown in this thread, please visit my deviant art gallery as well: D E V I A N T. |
N A R T I N A: The main character of the comic, she is a shapeshifter born to elven parents. In the main story line, she is 250 years old. She is the daughter of Maliki and Marcelas. She had a twin brother named Haldir, and two younger brothers named Reino and Shere. Her cousin's name is Hamlin. She is the only survivor of the Slaughter. She was born with snowy-white hair, however within minutes her hair faded to a raven black. She goes by Nari, Tina, or Nar. She shares her body with a secondary soul she named Shavori.
S H A V O R I: The product of Nartina's loneliness after the slaughter. She started off as that little voice inside your head, and gradually her personality grew and grew. One day, she asked Nartina to give her a name, and Shavori was born. Often takes over when Nartina is in grave danger, or when a particular demon comes around. Her physical features and stature are identical to Nartina's, but where Nartina's skin is pale, Shavori's is a a deep tan color with purple and blue undertones. Instead of black hair, Shavori's hair is a silvery white, and unkempt. Her nickname is Shav. H A M L I N: A blood mage by birth, and an elf. He is Nartina's cousin. He is 50 years older than Nartina, and the closest friend she has ever had. His hair was a golden blonde when he was born, and as his abilities progressed his hair steadily turned more red. Now, at 300 years of age, there are no traces of the gold, and instead, his hair is a crimson color. He is quiet and reserved - often grumpy, actually - around everyone except Nartina. His friends call him Lin. He is the only other person alive, aside from Nartina-who is the only survivor-to see the aftermath of the Slaughter of Helmast. |

OPEN! Feel free to post. |
I've been waaaiiiiiiiiting!
If the title image is any indication, you're one hell of an artist. What else is coming? Do we get to see moooore pretty pixels? Are you looking for commissions? |
With bated breath? Cause I love that phrase?
Oh trust me, there's TONS more. I really draw a lot. And I've been going crazy on the pen art recently. :3 Currently, as I do not have much time to work on commissions, unfortunately no. I may open an auction shortly, but an actual shop? Not right now. |
More like baited breath! Luring me in with beautiful art and then crushing my dreeeaaams! You monster, you. (I kid of course)
Auction eh? *readies TrisFunds (patent pending!)* |
Hey. What can I say? I'm a good fisherman? +feeds fishy food+ Nyehehehehehehehehe! >8} I see you have found me out already. No point in hiding my monstrous ways.
Yep. And auction. Cause I like to watch people fight over my art? +brings out a tin cup+ |
*waits patiently*
Ignore Germaine. He's here just to hold my spot. |
Germaine is a pretty awesome spot holder. I wish I had a spot holder as awesome as Germaine.
|
Germaine is fun. I wish he showed up for more than 20 seconds in the show. He's just the most unimpressed fish ever.
|
Man you make me want to start drawing again . . . but then I wouldn't be pixeling all the time. . . because i'd be drawing. . . conundrum.
|
Salone// Germaine seems like a pretty cool fish. Like he's seen it all and nothing surprises him anymore.
Glitch// You could draw when you're not pixiling? I dunno. I have no skill in pjxilation. I only know how to fix it when it happens on a TV. lol |
Glitch...pixels. Glitch pixels, and never stops pixeling. Like her tag says, she's pixlexic. It's a sad condition, but through her struggle we get a metric crap ton of items. So I'm just going to turn a blind eye to her constantly working all the time as I rake in the crazy amount of items she does.
|
Glitch pixels.......OOOOOOOOOH! Don't stop! These items are fantastic! +le cling+ I need moar!
|
Oh my freaking gosh why is that nose so gorgeous I want to rub my nose up on the tip of that nose it's so realistic and pretty. @.@
|
Lucid// O ,O That's the first time someone has ever commented the nose on my art. LOL Thank you.
|
It is a very pretty nose. Whatever that style of art is called (I am deplorable when it comes to art), you're good at it.
|
It is a glorious most amazing nose!!!
|
Salone// It's semi-realism. Thank you. :3 I worked hard on that nose. Lol
Glitch// Thank you thank you. |
So what are you working on now, if I can ask?
|
Christmas presents, in all honesty. Drawing a pixie and a dragon baby for one of my friends, a winter fairy for another, a spider queen for another, some old guy with a pimp cane, and a birthday present idea. OH! And I'm working on a tattoo idea for my brother.
|
I demand previews! Well, you know, request. I'm nosy. I like looking at things.
|
Oh, I'll be posting them on here for sure.
|
Yeeeeeeeees.
So how did you get started, you know...arting? Is that it? Arting? Artistry? That one. Tell me about that. Origin stories! |
The world was a dark, cold, lifeless place. All around, people went about their day to day lives with little abandon. The hairspray fog of the 80s clung to cracked faux-leather jackets and ballerina skirts, and the large hair was starting to flatten. There seemed little hope for this lifeless husk of a world, when out of the shadows, and on the horizon, a glimmer of hope, there stood an ambitious child, clutching a crayon, and holding it to the sky. From that crayon, color seeped back into the world. Beauiful, life-filled color it was, and the world once more rejoiced in the glory of art, and the smell of paper, and the music of lead being dragged across paper in swoops and swirls. It carried the world through the techno-colored 90s to the glorious new millenium. Now, 26 years later, she dare not give up, or the world may fall back into the despair of that hairspray-fogged 80s slump.
|
Beautiful...but the 80's weren't that bad. I mean I was barely around to even be in the 80's, but it wasn't that bad! We got...we got some decent music out of it!
|
I don't know that much about the 80s. I wasn't old enough to remember them. It just seemed like a good plot for my origin story. LOL
|
You had Transformers, Jem and the Holograms, tons of music, and awful awful but wonderful styles that should have never been a thing but were. And denim. Oh the denim.
And mostly, The Lost Boys. But yes! It's a good place to start any origin story. I should know, I'm from there! |
Me too...well, the last year of it. I won't lie, I'm totally a 90s kid in spirit, though I was born in the 80s.
