While the game is much much easier than prior King's Quest games, I am just so happy to have a new one to play that I do not care! I love King's Quest and I can't wait for the next installment!!!!! Gahhh!!!

I saw the first part on Steam but wasn't really sure what to think about it. It's been ages since I played any of them, and mostly 6 (I think? The one with Alexander of Daventry and the Minotaur, black Pegasus, and dancing bones).

I just replayed that one!

The originals are great, nothing can change that. This one is just sort of uhm. . . it like rehashes the original story, fills in all of the holes, but there is very little to actually figure out. It's pretty linear and like you are playing a choose our own adventure story book. I think this is ok though because it allows the games to be accessible to a younger audience that never played the original games. It also brings in lots of nostalgia and makes me very happy because King's Quest V was my first video game I ever played and I spent hours upon hours of my childhood sneaking onto the computer and trying to figure it out. I also idolized Rosella and would try to walk like her and prance around . . . anyway, off track . . . haha

Part 2 is coming out?

I only played the first few bits of part 1 because it was the free game of the month. I was planning on buying the game in it's entirety, but when I found out it was being split into episodes I decided to wait.

I hate playing piece meals of a game at a time. I like being able to play at my own pace.

I need to finish part 1 already >.> but I'm scared if I finish and then catch up to part 2, then I'll be one of those saps waiting for part 3 impatiently, slowly dying from the wait, and then being very underwhelmed if the episode failed to deliver.

I bought the collection because it comes with extra stuff ouo I forgot what extra stuff ouo

There is a ton of replay value as well so if I just play it now and then I can replay the different stories to fill in the time XD

Chapter 1 is now free on steam! You guys have no excuse to not play it XD

How is part 2 and 3?

Chapter 2 is short but has a million re-play options! It's also kind of a darker story than the first chapter and can be gut-renchingly sad or really rewarding depending on what choices you make.

Chapter 3 just came out and I haven't tried re-playing it yet but it seems to have generally 2 possible outcomes as far as I can tell. Although the story for it changes wildly depending on how you did in chapter 2! There's also a variety of different scenes you can view depending on what choices you make. It's really really funny though.

GOG has a sale on old king's quest games!

Man. . . I could play all of these games forever XD

That's cool. But I probably won't get them, the older games are way harder and time consuming. xD


I bought part 2 a while ago and let my stead die off while saving everyone else. I'm waiting for part 3 to go on sale.

But maaaan part 2 was dark.

i didn't save the pet because i didn't even realize it was there until they came to cart it off XD i was so sad.

Same exact situation. I had no clue it was there either until it was carted. LOL

Maybe that was a good thing tho?

I managed to save everyone else.

I was terrified of losing Amaya because I didn't think I'd have food left for her on the last day.

who you do and dont save plays a factor in part 3. ALso part three has 2 obviously different endings which I think will be really interesting for part 4.

Lots of replay value but I am waiting to replay any chapters until the whole game is out

Saving the pet means you can't save all of the people; the scenario is built to where there is no perfectly happy ending.

Well that's being a leader, having to make tough decisions with no clear best case scenario.

I think we're spoiled in video games by having those best scenarios. I like having to pick and choose, it makes the game more memorable and you can choose to be selfish or selfless.
