I'm aging too fast
I joined this site when I was a lot younger! Look at me now...I feel really old. |
I have days like that too.
|
I was what 15? 16 during Trisphee beta..
Now I'm 21 ._. OOOOLD |
Oh hush, you, I'll be 34 soon. ._.
|
DK will be 26 in June! OuO
|
2^#r6fd...my AGE file was corrupted.
|
I am also going through a midlife crisis at 26 xD
|
I was already in college when I joined this website. And now I am turning 27 very soon.
|
Geez... most of you are younger than my daughter.

Pinkie turns 26 this year...though later in the year

Well at least two people here are still older than me...I think. |
lots of elderly twenty-somethings XD
|
I'll have you know, young whipper-snapper, that in my day we had to wait 5 darned minutes to both open and close the internet!
>.> If I was being serious, I would say changes in things like the support structure have put an additional stress on certain parts of younger generations, which can have multiple side effects. That or every generation says that, and I haven't thought to do a survey to find out... |
24 this year, I was actually thinking that same thing, and finally coming to a realization on how fast time flies, Sometimes I wish I could be ignorant to time like the other various creatures of the world.
|
I'm in the 30-something crowd... Despite turning 30 this coming September. lol
|
"30-almost" is "30-something" I guess.
|
@Law: Hehe 5 mins. In my day we had to use disk to get internet, and you've got mail was an actual joke among the elite that could afford... dial up.
|
I am old enough to have friends talk about dial-up, and my grandparents use it.
...Does having two working old 1980's IBM's count? Given they are 10 years older than me... .-. |
It halfway counts. It counts more if you have nostalgia of using them as a child, even if they were outdated by then. If they're more recent acquisitions that's just retrocomputing.
|
...We used to use them to type up grocery lists...
I have more memory of dad's Atari 2600 playing Pitfall. |
i remember when noone knew what the sims was XD
|
I miss SimLife...actually used genes and phenotypes and Game of Life stuff...
|
It's kind of strange knowing how old everyone is?
I feel like a baby and I'm not much younger than most of you o3o And I remember you Panda! You were everywhere around the time I joined |
yeah XD i just mean straight sims1 hahaha, back when my face was like 40% pimples hahaha
|
I recall an entity known as Sim City that other kids would play in the computer lab when the teacher let them do something other than figuring out clip art and Mavis Beacon.
The first "fancy" computer that I recall my parents buying was an IBM 486. Didn't know what that meant and no google to look it up. You actually had to find people who knew these things. |
Lol I remember sim city. I had no idea what zoning laws was or how to level ground, but I sure as hell knew how to destroy a city with a fuckton of natural disasters.
I don't remember what type of computer we had. Our house didn't actually own one until I was almost done with highschool. Even then I had to save up money from my first job to get my first laptop, and that was my sophomore year in college. |
my first was some sort of macintosh, which i broke XD then some computer that only could type(black background and green font) then a win 95 then a win 98 then a melenium then an xp XD suffice to say i have had computers for most of my life but did not really /do/ anything with them until the 95' XD
|
Leveling ground wasn't even a thing in the original SimCity. I think that was added in 2000.
|
@Coda: I don't remember playing 2000 though. I played it in the 90s along with Oregon Trail, and Where in the world is Carmen San Diego.
Also I don't remember what our first house computer was. I remember my brother ruined it by watching porn. |
SC2k actually came out in 1994, so it's pretty likely that's what you had if it had terrain management. The original SimCity had a completely flat terrain.
|
I've got one for you guys.
Remember that Dolphin game? Where you played a dolphin? I do. |
Ecco the Dolphin?
Did you know it's about space aliens and time travel? |
glitch; you are not welcome on the internet anymore. that is highly inappropriate language there
|
XDDDDD
I did play as a dolphin! I was probably like 10 at the time! I wasn't smart enough to figure out how to do anything other than swim around I think. I never got anywhere. |
dude, that game was a mess XD it is super odd and the fact that i do not like dolphins did not help, hahaha
|
I was a little older than that (13, maybe?) and it was on a friend's system. I never got anywhere either. I thought that the game would progress if you found the right place deep underwater, so I was exploring down there, desperately searching bubble to bubble.
Turns out... no, you're actually SUPPOSED to stay on the surface and play around there. Whoops. I missed the whole game. |
Ah ya I never left the water! Haha
|
You were supposed jump really high in the air, then the sky goes skitzo and all your friends get sucked away and the music turns depressing and lonely.
I do remember the alien ship thing, but only because we found the game level code to get to it. We played it on Sega Gensis, but I remember it originally somewhere else. The earliest computer I actually recall was the Mac, which was roughly the size of 2 Gamecubes, I think, was grey, and had a screen that only covered about half the "box." We would do the tutorial, and play Helicopter or Gunpowder, if I have those names right. |
No, it was a Genesis exclusive at first, until it later got ported to handhelds and Windows.
